and friend peacefully left this world to be with Jesus on December 12
4 days shy of her 92nd birthday; born on December 16
Louise made her profession of faith at 9 years old and was baptized at the First Baptist Williamsburg
She graduated from LaFollette High School a full year early in 1949
While not realizing her dream of graduating from college she did successfully achieve the Dean's list taking classes both at Sinclair Community College and at the University of Dayton while caring for her husband and children
She was proceeded in death by her father Basil Arthur Hayes and her mother Mollie Ellen (Steely) Hayes
Louise lost her grandson Oscar E Hicks III on October 5th 2019
She is survived by brothers Carl and John and sisters Beverly
She will be sorely missed by daughter Mollie B.A
11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She volunteered for the Ombudsman office as a Medicare/Medicaid consultant then as a nursing home patient advocate
She was a strong advocate for her community and a participant in local and state political and civil issues even chosen as citizen of the year for the city of Moraine
She never stopped working to make each of these things better
She strengthened every church she attended teaching
singing in the church choir and singing favorite songs for the congregation
She always stayed 100 percent in the corner of her family
and always tried to put her best foot forward to support her chosen city of Moraine
Mom’s faith was the most important thing to her
The one thing she always wanted to share with anyone is the only thing you need to do is believe in the death and resurrection of Christ for you as well as the world to be saved
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son
so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life"
and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord."
Visitation will be held from 11:00am-1:00pm

Oklahoma Farm Bureau
Preserving and protecting our rural way of life since 1942
the gravel roads are long and straight as they stretch between fields
It is out here where the view goes on for miles that the Budy family farms and ranches while keeping the big picture in mind.
Chad and Danielle Budy and their four children work together as they care for their cattle and grow wheat
They even plant cow peas on the sand hills that dot the area to prevent wind erosion during the summer months.
Chad and Danielle are proud to have raised their four children – Colton
Tabor, Sagelyn and Davin – the same way they grew up: on the family farm.
we have a lot of obstacles thrown at us that are out of our control with prices and mother nature, but it’s just a way of life that I enjoy.”
“It’s exciting to see our kids come back and help us and want to do what we were raised up doing,” Chad said
“It’s been a good living for Danielle and I
and we just hope they can do the same if they have that interest and love the industry that they have the opportunity.”
is now farming with Danielle’s dad near Byron in Alfalfa County
with the goal of some day taking over for his grandpa
Tabor studies ag business at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in nearby Alva
and is building his own cattle herd. Sagelyn and Davin
help with the farm work in numerous ways. Danielle also works off the farm teaching math at NWOSU.
Chad recalls that farming was the one thing he wanted to do as he was growing up around agriculture
The allure of being his own boss also came with deep responsibilities
which he and Danielle work to pass on to their children
it’s my fault so I have to keep going,” Chad said of farming
“That’s what I’ve tried to teach my kids living where we do
we have a lot of obstacles thrown at us that are out of our control with prices and mother nature
but it’s just a way of life that I enjoy.”
When the COVID-19 pandemic shut down schools in early 2020
the family took the opportunity to harness the extra time together to replace fences and build new corrals to improve their cattle handling options well into the future.
While the pandemic disrupted life greatly in both rural and urban areas across our nation
Danielle said it served as another example of the perseverance of farmers and ranchers.
“It just proved how important farmers and ranchers are because their job never quits
we have to keep going and trudging through this.”
In addition to the full-time farming operation
the Budy family is heavily involved in their local community. From their county Farm Bureau to their church and from time spent on the volunteer fire department to their kids’ numerous activities
investing time to help their neighbors and their local area is a priority for the Budys.
“Our kids are what makes us work hard to keep this community thriving and keep it a place they might want to live,” Danielle said
“If we don’t have our future to look forward to
then what do we have to look forward to?”
As they think about the time spent as a family on the farm
both Chad and Danielle look back to one critical time of year for all farmers that they feel is what being a farm family is all about: wheat harvest.
“I remember my dad saying this last harvest that it was a joy for him to be out there with all my kids
me and him – the generations that are there running the combines – and we were all family,” Chad said
too.’ Even if my kids choose to go off and do other adventures
I think they’ll still come back to the farm and want to help a little bit on days like that.”
“Harvest is a good example of it’s just one big family that works together to accomplish something that is so awesome: being able to harvest the wheat
being able to then take it to the elevator and to be able to feed America,” Danielle said
it’s such an awesome thing that farmers do.”

GRAND FORKS — UND's logjam of forwards for next season has sent another into the NCAA transfer portal
UND forward Brendan Budy entered the portal Tuesday — four days before the deadline to get in for next season
Budy played two seasons for the Fighting Hawks
scoring five goals and 10 points in 56 games
He scored the game-winning goal in the third period against Minnesota Duluth in November
Budy missed the entire month of January with an injury and was a healthy scratch for the team's NCAA tournament game against Notre Dame
UND has been trying to manage its large forward list throughout the last month
The Fighting Hawks lost just one forward to graduation in fifth-year senior center Connor Ford
The returns of fourth-year seniors Gavin Hain and Mark Senden coupled with the explosive performances in the United States Hockey League by four forward commits who likely need to come to campus in the fall — Jackson Blake
Dylan James and Ben Strinden — has led to three departures
Budy and fourth-year senior Ashton Calder went to the transfer portal and recruit Cole Spicer opted to de-commit instead of play another year of junior hockey
UND now has 15 or 16 forwards penciled in for next season
depending on whether James comes to campus
McLaughlin and Strinden are all expected to come
Budy spent one semester at the University of Denver before returning to junior hockey
Budy was a nominee for the Hockey Humanitarian Award for his work in raising money and awareness for diabetes

Russian militants attacked railway facilities and rolling stock in Budy village
according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and other sources
"Three railroad workers with shrapnel wounds and concussion were hospitalized
and two more received medical aid on the spot
and the fires caused by the enemy strike were promptly localized," the company said
Kharkiv governor Syniehubov said that two people were killed in the attack
head of the Kharkiv district department of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region
"A total of 22 people were injured - 16 men and 6 women aged 14 to 81
and the rest are in light condition," noted the head of the Military Administration
He emphasized that the enemy deliberately struck two times within half an hour when all specialized services were already on the spot
law enforcement officials reported that a police officer of the patrol police response sector of the Kharkiv District Police Department
"This is not the first time Russia has attacked emergency services when they are rescuing civilians
there will be responsibility and accountability - in the courts and on the battlefield," the Interior Ministry emphasized
Today in the Kharkiv region, Russian troops shelled the village of Budy
Two people were reported dead and more than 20 injured
Russia continues to attack other regions of Ukraine. In particular, the enemy dropped a bomb on a bus stop with people in the Donetsk region
Bonneville cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii utah) and bluehead sucker (Catostomus discobolus)
Puzzling strongholds of these species remain
despite potential impacts from habitat fragmentation
Although populations of Bonneville cutthroat trout and bluehead sucker in the Weber River are especially important for management and conservation purposes
little is known about their specific life-histories and potential limiting factors in this system
We will test the hypothesis that a source-sink metapopulation dynamic exists between the tributaries and the mainstem populations of Bonneville cutthroat trout by using a combination of mark-recapture movement analysis
isotopic chemical markers in hard and soft tissue structures
We will identify the locations and attributes of barriers to upstream movement in the tributaries and mainstem
and evaluate priority areas for barrier removal
A barrier in the mainstem at the canyon mouth has recently been retrofitted with a fish ladder
and we will test the effectiveness of this structure in passing Bonneville cutthroat trout and bluehead sucker through the use of a gated picket weir
We will also evaluate the population size and structure of Bonneville cutthroat trout in the mainstem Weber River and tributaries
and the bluehead sucker population size and structure in the mainstem
The main goal of this research is to identify limiting factors to these populations to allow managers to prioritize conservation actions

Our Trust & Safety team works around the clock to keep our community safe
the teachers and staff at Holt Crossing Intermediate School educate their fifth- and sixth-grade students
the school served as an educational resource for families
Holt Crossing held a community-resource rally that evening
with representatives from about 30 central Ohio agencies on hand to answer questions and provide information about their services
"There will be programs held to provide information and assistance for specific groups
like parents of gifted and talented students
or families of special-needs students," said T.J
a fifth-grade science and literacy teacher at Holt who coordinated the effort to organize the resource rally
"But this is a program designed to offer our families more general information about a variety of issues and concerns," he said
The participating agencies offered information regarding health and wellness
we'll get questions from families about where they can get assistance on a particular issue," Budy said
"They know the type of help or information they need
they just don't know where to go to get it."
The community-resource rally aimed to serve as "one-stop shopping" for families
In addition to inviting Holt Crossing families
organizers distributed information about the event to the elementary schools that feed into Holt Crossing and the middle schools Holt Crossing students will attend
which included performances featuring the Holt Crossing Mini-Rockets and Central Crossing High School flag teams
the Central Crossing Jazz Band and visits with Brutus Buckeye and Crew Cat
"The mascots were an important part of the event
because we wanted to make this a fun night for families
not just a dry night of getting information," Budy said
Budy headed up a team of Holt teachers and staff members that spent several months organizing the event
once it was approved by the district and principal Tyler Winner
we try to do as much as we can to help our families when they have a question about something," Winner said
"We know there are entities out there that can help them
but a lot of times they don't know where to turn."
"Our teachers get a lot of questions from families
Families and students also could win prizes through a raffle during the rally
"We had some local businesses and restaurants donate prizes for the raffle and several of our teachers created specially themed gift bags as prizes," Budy said
A family movie night gift bag contained DVDs and popcorn while a family picnic night bag featured supplies and provisions for a picnic or camping trip
There was no cost to enter the raffle; families received an entry each time they visited one of the agencies participating in the rally
"We wanted to make sure that families actually make connect with these agencies
because that's what this night was all about," he said
The turnout was "spectacular," Winner said
"It's very gratifying to see our families respond like this," he said
they are getting a lot of good information about resources in the community that can help them."
The attendees included Holt Crossing fifth-grader Alaina Nicholson and her father
"I wanted to come because I really wanted to win the book prize bag in the raffle," Alaina said
so I entered that raffle -- and I won it!"
James Nicholson said the event was a valuable prize for families
"It's great to have information about so many different groups in the community available at one event," he said
we're able to get a lot of good information."
Budy said he would like to see similar events expand to other district schools
"Perhaps this is something we can organize to happen once a month at a different school," he said
"It's really turned out even better than I could have imagined."

Budy is one of two 16-year-old rookies from Langley playing for their hometown Rivermen —Sean Gulka is the other
The Rivermen’s youngest player — he’s already committed to play for the University of Denver (NCAA Div
1) in 2019-20 — Budy couldn’t think of a better place to play than here
“I had a number of offers from other teams and also I had a chance to move away and play in the WHL
but I knew college was meant for me,” Budy said
Sixteen’s pretty young to move away so being at home has helped a lot
“My parents [Tim and Colleen] are still there for me
They cook all my meals and drive me everywhere
Hockey League after spending last season with Delta Hockey Academy
He had five goals and five assists heading into last night’s home game against the Wenatchee Wild (the game got underway after the Times went to press Thursday morning)
“I knew it was going to be faster coming into the season,” Budy said
“It took me a couple of games to get going but I feel like I’ve adjusted my game well and I’m playing at a good pace
Rivermen head coach Bobby Henderson had high praise for Budy
considering his youth,” Henderson said.“He’s had no problem with the pace — if anything
He’s an extremely fast player and he processes the game at an elite level
He’s a skilled player and he’s fun to watch.”
Winning is something Budy has already become accustomed to in his young hockey career — he helped Delta Hockey Academy win the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) title last season
about his experience with Delta Hockey Academy
I think we only lost three games all year.”
and Budy feels he’s picked up his game a lot
The versatile centre/winger is on the smallish side by hockey standards
but says he’s not afraid to mix it up in the corners and in the dirty areas
“I’m kind of undersized so I play a skilled game usually,” Budy said
“I like to make plays and score goals but I can also bring some grit if it needs to be there
I finish hits when I get the chance and that type of stuff.”
Henderson said Budy isn’t about to be intimidated by older
“There’s no back off in his game,” Henderson said
He plays on the edge and he’s not a kid who’s going to be intimidated
“I just want to get better and keep developing my game
I want to get better after every game and hopefully become a really good hockey player in this league.”
Henderson said Budy “is getting better every week.”
“We’re just seeing now what he’s capable of
and we’ll see more of the same for some time to come.”
the Rivermen have been so-so as the season passes the one-third mark
Following a weekend split against the Surrey Eagles
they were 6-10-3-1 as of last night and sit fourth in the BCHL’s Mainland Division
We have a lot of rookies and stuff but I think we’re getting there
Everyone bonds well in the locker room and off the ice
so I think we’re going to start bringing our game [as the season wears on].”

2018-19 was a strange season for Langley Rivermen forward Brendan Budy
He had just wrapped up his two seasons in the BCHL and was starting his college career at the University of Denver
it was clear to him that things weren’t working out the way he had hoped
“I’m more of a skilled player who’s used to playing a top-six role and in Denver I was only playing here and there
“I was a true freshman and the youngest player there
maybe instead of staying here and not knowing what was going to happen
I could try other options and end up somewhere where I knew I’d be able to play a role that I’m used to playing.”
That new situation he was searching for ended up being in the USHL where he finished out the season with Tri-City Storm and ended up averaging a point per game with 31 in 31 contests
After an offseason full of rumours and speculation on where he would play – his WHL rights were traded to the Vancouver Giants
he was eligible to return to the USHL for a second season – his career ended up coming full circle as he returned to Langley for a second stint in the BCHL with his hometown Rivermen
Budy spent his early years playing for the Langley Minor Hockey Association
a place where he was able to develop his hockey skills and make some friends that would end up being his teammates again down the road
“It was really good experience,” he said
“We had a bunch of good players there
A few players ended up playing in the BCHL and a couple of them are actually on my team right now.”
Those players he’s referring to are Rivermen goalie Braedon Fleming who is in his fourth year with the team
who was acquired by Langley in a trade this past offseason
Budy also played minor hockey with former Rivermen captain Alec Capstick who is now in his freshman season at the University of Miami-Ohio
he relied a lot on his parents for advice and to make sure he had every opportunity to succeed
“My dad Tim played hockey himself,” said Budy
so he knows what it’s like to be a hockey player
Him and my mom were always there for me and always supported me on whatever decisions I’ve made throughout my hockey career
They’ve been there every step of the way.”
Heading into his second year of Bantam hockey
Budy ended up at the Delta Hockey Academy where he was coached by Jaroslav ‘Yogi’ Svejkovsky
A former first-round pick of the Washington Capitals and someone who played four NHL seasons in the late ’90s
Svejkovsky had a strong influence on Budy as a young hockey player
“He was obviously a really good player himself and he’s an unreal coach,” said Budy
He was able to teach us a lot of skills with the puck
but he was also really good at bringing the team together.”
Budy moved on to the BCHL where he debuted with his hometown team at the age of 16 and ended up finishing tied for sixth in rookie scoring with 45 points in 56 games
“That’s a young age to be playing junior hockey,” he said
“I had to go to school and play hockey at the same time
so it was nice that I was able to live at home
especially since my house is only five minutes from the rink
My mom used to drive me to school and then made sure I got to the rink on time
Budy had another strong year in his second season in the league
leading the Rivermen in scoring with 56 points
but the highlight of that season came outside of the BCHL
he was selected to play for Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge (WJAC) and ended up winning a gold medal
downing the United States in the championship game
“It’s something I’ll never forget,” he said
going through tryouts and then finally getting our team together
“Just getting to be a part of a Canada vs
Budy has picked up right where he left off the last time he was in the league
The 19-year-old is tied for third in BCHL scoring with 38 points in 28 games
so it was almost a foregone conclusion that he would be invited back to Team Canada West’s selection camp this year which gets underway Dec
“Even though I’ve been on the team before
you’ve still got to go there and show them what you’ve got
I’m very excited to try and work toward winning another gold medal.”
Despite how things ended for him in Denver last year
Budy still views his time there as a learning experience that has helped him this season and will also help him down the road
“You’re playing against grown men and a bunch of players who will be playing in the NHL in a couple years,” he said
“It shows you what the speed of the next level is like and what you need to do to be a really good player in that league
to kind of know what I need to do to be a really good player in college.”
it didn’t take long for another NCAA program to come calling
he announced his commitment to the University of North Dakota for 2020-21
“I really connected well with the coaches there,” said Budy
“We got really close and talked a lot about what happened in Denver
No one I talked to had anything bad to say about North Dakota
Everyone was just so positive about how good the coaching is there and how nice and honest they are to you
I just developed a really good relationship with them over a couple months
They’ve had a lot of winning teams and have produced a lot of good NHL players.”
that was the most important factor for Budy when it came to deciding to return to the BCHL this season
it was imperative for him to keep his college eligibility since he viewed that as the best path for him to take to reach his goals
going to college and especially to a school like North Dakota
was the best option for me,” he said
“My goal is to make the NHL and I know that college will be the best way to help me get there
You get a couple extra years of development and I think that extra time never hurts.”

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy arrested an Ocala woman Monday night who was “throwing things around the house” after kicking her roommate
When the deputy arrived at the home on SW 131st Court
24-year-old Catherine Mary Budy promptly said
I did it,” a sheriff’s office report states
adding that the deputy did detain her based on her behavior
The deputy then spoke to another woman who lives at the house
She said that Budy had “become aggravated” and was breaking things in the residence during an argument
The woman said she told Budy to calm down and that law enforcement was on the way
I will make it worth it” and kicked the woman in the back of legs in an attempt to knock her down the stairs
the deputy took Budy into custody and transported her to the Marion County Jail
She was being held on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in a Marion County courtroom on Nov
Budy is no stranger to the Marion County legal system
having been housed at the jail twice before her most current arrest
she was charged with domestic battery and criminal mischief
The state elected not to prosecute Budy in the January 2017 case after she successfully completed the Marion County Mental Health Court Program
even though there was “ample probable cause” for Budy’s arrest
charges were dropped/abandoned because the likelihood of conviction at trial was slight

it was a “case of mutual combat,” court records show

Winning gold for your country is a dream of almost every young athlete
And for two members of the Langley Rivermen
Brendan Budy and Angus Crookshank each scored a goal — Budy struck on a short-handed breakaway while Crookshank scored the eventual game-winner — in a 5-1 victory for Team Canada West over the United States
The two teams were playing for gold on Saturday in Truro
the 17-year-old Rivermen captain and hometown Langley product
everyone dreams of putting the Canadian sweater on and I was fortunate enough to have the chance to win gold
“And to do it on home soil is pretty special.”

Canada West lost their two preliminary games
falling 5-2 to the Czech Republic and 2-1 to the U.S
edging Canada East 4-3 in the quarter-finals and knocking off the Czech Republic 5-1 in the semifinals
Crookshank — who had a goal and an assist in the gold-medal game — finished second on the team with two goals and five points in the five games while Budy potted a pair of goals
“Surreal — I still get the chills thinking about it,” said Crookshank
“You dream as a kid about winning a gold medal for Canada
The experience was one neither player is likely to forget
people were asking for pictures and autographs,” Budy said
there would be 1,000 fans already in the 2,500-seat arena
The gold medal game was standing room only
Both players were also happy to have family who flew in for the championships as Crookshank’s dad and Budy’s parents were in attendance for Saturday’s final

“It was pretty cool for him to witness that,” Crookshank said
“He knows it has been a goal of mine for a while now
Budy — who is committed to Denver for his college hockey — leads the Rivermen with a dozen goals and 33 points in 30 games
Crookshank — who is committed to North Hampshire — battled injuries to start the season
leads the team with 14 goals and is tied for second with 25 points in just 22 games
Missing nearly the first month of the season was not the start Crookshank was looking for
especially with his eye on earning a spot on the Canada West squad
“But that just gave me fuel when I came back to make this team
The Rivermen are coming off a 5-1 win over Chilliwack and a 3-3 tie with Surrey over the weekend and sit in first place in the BCHL’s Mainland Division with a record of 17-9-9-2
