There’s dance music that assaults you
and then there’s dance music that actually gives a damn about your emotional wellbeing
MYRNE’s Heal EP falls firmly in the latter category – four tracks of what the Singapore producer has aptly dubbed “emotional dance music,” and in this chaotic world
it’s exactly the sonic medicine we needed
The This Never Happened EP opens with the title track “Heal” featuring Shallou
immediately establishing that this isn’t what you reach for when you want to lose your mind; it’s what you play when you need to find it again
Those milky synth textures feel like the audio equivalent of someone wrapping you in a weighted blanket after a rough day
“Salve In The Mist” deepens the atmosphere with evolving progressions that unfold like chapters in a good book
while “Light Through The Leaves” delivers exactly what its name promises – those expansive chords feel like actual sunshine filtering down through a forest canopy
By the time closer “Lily” arrives with its minimalist flourishes and smooth basslines
you’re fully immersed in MYRNE’s world
For a producer who cut his teeth on Mad Decent and has since conquered Ultra Miami and Tomorrowland
With 383,000 monthly Spotify listeners and tracks like “Feels Right” crossing 20 million streams
he’s crafted something that works as well at home as it does on a dancefloor

Russia claimed Tuesday that it took control of two more settlements in its offensive in eastern Ukraine.
The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces captured the village of Myrne, about 12 kilometers (7.4 miles) northeast of Lyman in the eastern Donetsk region.
It later reported that its forces in the Zaporizhzhia region also took control of the village of Mali Shcherbaky, situated 44 kilometers (27 miles) southeast of the region’s administrative center.
Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the claims, and independent verification is difficult due to the war.

Explosions have rung out in a Russian-occupied city and army base
The mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov claimed there had been overnight strikes that hit the city as well as the nearby village of Myrne
In a Sunday, August 28, Telegram post, translated from Ukrainian to English via Google
Fedorov said: "Another explosive night in Melitopol and Myrne village of Melitopol district
At 1 o'clock residents of all districts heard loud explosions
"The first of them was so strong that windows in some houses shook and plaster fell
We are waiting for confirmation that the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed another base of the occupiers with jewel-like precision strikes
The enemy will never be at peace on our land."
Fedorov said one of the buildings destroyed in Myrne was where a pseudo-referendum "was being conducted."
one of the largest enemy bases in the territory of the 'Actovolorlit' plant was destroyed."
Newsweek has been unable to independently verify the claims
Both Melitopol and Myrne are located in the occupied Zaporizhzhya region which is part of the land corridor that connects the separatist regions of Luhansk and Donetsk to the Crimean Peninsula
The Kremlin first claimed to have captured Melitopol in February
It was the first major city that was taken by Russia since the outbreak of the war with Ukraine
Fedorov recently told Newsweek that HIMARS [High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems] had aided Ukrainian forces in putting pressure on the Russian army
Following a reported strike that killed more than 100 Russian soldiers
Fedorov said that the rocket systems had tipped the balance of warfare in Ukraine's favor
He said: "Tonight is the most effective and shows that the existing enemy air defense units are no longer able to resist HIMARS
"The weakening of the air defense system creates the necessary prerequisites for a successful counteroffensive in the direction of Melitopol."
Fedorov later added: "They [Russian soldiers] don't want to make war
Newsweek has contacted the Kremlin and Fedorov for comment
Russian President Vladimir Putin has seemingly shifted the Russian war objective after forces were unable to capture Kyiv following the outbreak of the war
Russian forces have refocused their efforts in the east of Ukraine with the intention of connecting the separatist regions to Crimea
the peninsula was physically cut off from the rest of the country
But Ukraine has made clear on numerous occasions that it will not accept any of its territories being transferred to Russia
Earlier this month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the war must end with the liberation of Crimea
According to the BBC
following several explosions in the region
Zelensky said: "Crimea is Ukrainian and we will never give it up."

The Dnepr group of the Russian armed forces has taken control of the settlement of Malye Shcherbaki (Mali Shcherbaky) in the Zaporizhzhya region
the Russian Defence Ministry confirmed on Tuesday

Russia on Sunday said that it took control of a village in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhia region.
the Russian Defense Ministry said that troops captured the village of Myrne

10-track album that features everyone including Karra
From its lead single "Me ++ You," the album is filled with a new-and-improved MYRNE as he makes strides in discovering who he really is deep down without ever compromising his sound or vision with the general public
EDM.com caught up with MYRNE to discuss his recent project
and what he discovered about himself in the process
MYRNE: MYRNE is a project I started seven years ago
just as a creative outlet for the music I was learning to make at the time
It wasn't so much started with the intention to see my name on festival posters
breathing collection of my first forays into electronic music
I got the name from a David Byrne book I read while procrastinating in secondary school
What does “runaway sonic architect” in your Instagram bio mean
The first part describes the impetus for even making music
I felt I couldn't relate to traditional conceptions of success in the society I was raised in
and committing to a life of music was in part running away from those obligations
"Architect" is a homage to a song I wrote in 2016
and describes my workflow when it comes to production
Producers have literally every sound in the world at your disposal
I used that advantage to attempt to create stories
intricate landscapes that I could hear myself living in
What’s one thing you want fans to get from In Search of Solitude
It’ll mean different things to many people
and I don't want listeners to have expectations before pressing play on this record
It's a chronological order of songs that relate to my influences
and growth when it comes to my musical journey
the EP celebrates vulnerability and imperfection through five dark
including a collaboration with dubstep icon Flux Pavilion
2025How do you pick which features go on the project
Most of the features on the record are already friends of mine
or writers I've met through my time at Ultra Music
I make music with a deterministic outlook on life
and believe that every song I create has already been written the moment I sit at the desk
Whatever friends or singers come into my life - no matter how "different" they sound in the context of my idea of the project - have a special place in it
and so I never worry about finding "the right person" for a song
You mention you were focused on what people wanted you to create
What is it you discovered about yourself and your sound
I've always known that "less is more," but I've never been able to shake my bad habits of over-layering everything until the mix sounds like a stretched
This LP counts out DJs playing my songs as quick edits at festivals
I guess one thing that I consciously took away was that my best music is made when I'm experimenting
imagining a large landscape that the song fits in
What's your best memory from touring with Manila Killa
The most notable was at a show in San Luis Obispo
the first time I was testing the live set in front of other people
Midway through my set the backing instrumental stopped
I swore loud enough for the front row to hear
the crowd started cheering and I resumed my set
I immediately felt confident enough for all the other shows on the rest of the tour
It's crazy how supportive fans are out here in California

Singaporean producer MYRNE is back with a propulsive new shadowy single
“Secrets.” The track is built around a colorful vocal sample
It’s a potent mix that wrings great emotional weight out of a simple refrain: “I can’t get you out of my head.” MYRNE has always been a dexterous producer and intricate arranger
and this new track underscores his ability to blend seemingly disparate threads into deeply affecting dancefloor anthems
“I wanted to capture the vulnerability we face when we spill our desires to one another,” MYRNE says of the floor-filler
“I think that’s something important and that can bring us together.” He ultimately wants the song to inspire trust and serve as a reminder that there are safe places for secrets if you find the right friends
“Secrets” is the follow-up to the Joy Alexis-assisted “Desire,” which the duo wrote in a few hours while filming Majulah Weekender (an eight-part web series which finds established Singaporean musicians paired with emerging voices)
with Alexis effortlessly sliding into MYRNE’s rich dancefloor ecstasy
and the reception has been rapturous—it has already garnered over 1.5 million streams
With “Secrets,” MYRNE continues to prove that he’s one of dance music’s most tireless new innovators
While MYRNE’s music often provides listeners a route of blissful escapism
Circles seeks to bridge the gap between reality and hyperreality
It draws upon the gritty big-room spirit of 1990s rave music and the digital maximalism of 2010s electronic dance music to provide something exciting in this brave new decade
I really wanted to explore repetition and loop-based sampling in a song; I wanted to pay homage to old rave tools while adding a touch of modern-day songwriting,” MYRNE said upon its release

‘With ‘Circles,’ I really wanted to explore repetition and loop-based sampling in a song,’ says MYRNE
Hot off his recent signing with Astralwerks
Singaporean producer and DJ MYRNE is back with a fresh new single
It’s a euphoric number celebrating the wonders of everyday life
and it’s also the title track from his forthcoming EP
Upon his addition to the Astralwerks roster
MYRNE released “What Can I Do” – a song that first saw him fearfully peering down obstacles
even as he found himself deep into his music-making career
What resulted was MYRNE’s first step into the great unknown
“Circles” is the confident next step of his artistry
“Circles” explores the feeling of stagnation
and how it can take a toll on your physical and mental health
taking its difficult lessons as a reason not to drown in your sorrows
The repetitious and humdrum rhythms of day-to-day life were what gave meaning to “Circles.” Stuck in lockdown – just like “What Can I Do” – “Circles” was created out of restlessness
As more people around the world continue to adjust their lives around an ever-shifting environment
MYRNE meditated on the meaning of co-existing with the present
finding stillness within yourself while learning to connect with your surroundings
“It’s like we are going in circles,” one of the few sung lyrics in “Circles” becomes less like a frustrating thought than a refreshing mantra
“Circles” seeks to bridge the gap between reality and hyperreality

Singaporean artist/producer MYRNE has released his new collaboration single “Center of the World,” with Filipino producer Manilla Killa and singer RUNN today
It presents a new beaming light over the modern dancefloor
paying tribute to progressive and trance music of the 2000s and the gleaming optimism of 2010s EDM
The song began to take shape when MYRNE – in the midst of a soul-searching phase of his career
which involved introspective singles like “Carousel,” “Freefall,” and “Conflicted.”
“I was perusing my discography and noticed I had no true-to-form ‘bangers’ I sat down with my regular collaborator Manila Killa and we had the intention of making a track like that
It also elevates a lot of my prior melodic influences
“Center of the World,” with its buzzy trance synths
pays tribute to the music that made this world exciting for both MYRNE and Manila Killa
MYRNE and Manilla Killa performed a back-to-back DJ set at Ultra Music Festival in Miami
they opted for spontaneity: they played a stash of music by their most precious influences
old progressive and trance,” MYRNE remembers
Their new single “references those classic tendencies.”
“Center of the World” represents our love for the ‘golden’ era of EDM: huge synths and emotional breakdowns but with a forward thinking
Her voice and sound encapsulate an ethereal vibe that fits the soul of the song.”
this collaboration represented everything she loves about making music: “Working with the guys was so easy and natural it was really the epitome of what musical collaboration can be.”

The Singaporean producer and DJ has joined the Astralwerks label and is readying a new EP
Singaporean producer and DJ Myrne has returned with the new track ‘What Can I Do’
marked his debut release with the labels Astralwerks and Universal Music Singapore
the musician explained how he overcame the feeling of being stuck during the time between his past work and the present
and how the process of working on this specific track
“I was really scared of making music for a long time
out of a fear of mediocrity and never surpassing my past work,” he said
I’ve erased everything I know and I’ve fallen in love with the process again – just singing and dancing to 8 bar loops for days
‘What Can I Do?’ was the first song I wrote out of that.”
‘What Can I Do’ is the first single off Myrne’s upcoming EP slated for release later this year
The record will be the follow up to his 2020 seven-track EP ‘Wandering’
Last year, Myrne – real name Manfred Lim – put out reimagined versions of his singles ‘Superstructure’ and ‘Sleeping On My Own Again’. He also created a remix of Singaporean pop artist Nathan Hartono’s single ‘The Difference’
The 26-year-old producer launched his music career in 2013 and was signed by Diplo to Mad Decent two years later. He dropped several EPs and singles prior to his two full-length records in 2018 and 2019 – the collaborative album ‘B4NGER PROJECT’ with Gentle Bones and the 10-track Ultra Records release ‘In Search Of Solitude’
The world’s defining voice in music and pop culture: breaking what’s new and what’s next since 1952
Things have been shining brightly for Singaporean chillwave producer Myrne (pronounced mur-ne)
Ever since being signed to EDM honcho Diplo’s Mad Decent label
the stoic 21-year-old has pulled off a string of successes
ranging from the release of his highly-received Softsins EP to even an unannounced project with Avicii’s record label PRMD music
Things have been busy for him. Ahead of his new Fundamentals EP dropping this Friday, and headlining the Moonbeats Warehouse Party alongside electronic acts like Ryan Hemsworth and Slow Magic this Saturday – the burgeoning producer took time off to talk to Popspoken about working with Singaporean and international artists
People have been calling your music chillwave
but there have been terms like Future Bass
and Down Tempo thrown into the mix as well
I think right now there are a lot of genre names being thrown around
but based on my influences I would classify myself as a mix of Future R&B
It’s still pretty broad-based and I still have a lot of freedom to do what I want
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXMw8JgIbdY
Pretty Things (from upcoming Fundamentals EP) is quite departure from your chilled-out sound in Softsins
It’s still within the range of my own influences
I get excited about a lot of kinds of electronic music
I was influenced by the early works of Baauer and Erol Alkan
The chillwave genre is actually derived from trap
It’s basically trap instrumentals – the beats and percussion – but with more synths on top
I guess trap is the main skeleton of this whole genre that I don’t mind going back to
What are some of the acts that have influenced your sound
The more underground names that influenced me were Rustie
She works with a lot of producers from the electronic scene
It’s also because my girlfriend likes to blast it in the studio (laughs)
There’s this complex piano bit in the remix of 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” which you did recently
and piano music into that remake to give it more funk
I try to flip the song entirely – almost like as if I had to produce the song instead
You’ve been working with other producers like StéLouse
so basically we use a lot of programs like Splice
You can just hit up a random producer based in the US one day and the next day you can create a hit through file-sharing
How most of my collaborations start is that I usually have a piano line in my hard drive
I send them the stems and after a few back and forths
There’s no need for two people in the studio at one time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jWBE7FNVCE&nohtml5=False
How do you choose the singers to perform on your tracks
They don’t have a lot of input on the instrumentals itself
I try to make it so that the producer is at the forefront of the track
the song I did with Linying was more indie and alternative
and she just likes to sing over my demos and works-in-progress
What I look for in a singer is the songwriting
And are there any plans to have a male singer featured on your songs
Hudson Mohawke and Ryan Hemsworth have gone down the hip-hop/rap i.e
Is there any chance of you going down that route
I’ve had plenty of people hit me up for hip-hop instrumentals
but I’ve just been too busy to get to them
But I’m always open to further my sound through that
and it gives a lot more space for a vocalist or an artist to get on
You’ve been on studio lockdown 24/7 working on your Fundamentals EP
Any nuggets of information to offer us before it drops on April 15th
I’m actually dropping five songs this week
but I have plenty of collaborations with really amazing artists over this month
I managed to lock down a few remixes for Gramatik
Hood Boy and one for Avicii’s label PRMD music – which I can’t talk about at the moment
I would just say stick to what you stand for
Don’t ever be in a rush to put anything out
One of my main regrets was being too impulsive in uploading every piece that I have
so that creates a really ugly backdrop that you wouldn’t want to look at in like 5
Some people can look back and say “Oh I’ve grown so much”
but sometimes there can be tracks that are embarrassing
The most important tip is to find a group of producers and friends that will be willing to support you and your music
That’s how people get off from there
Myrne’s follow up to Mad Decent’s Softsins, Fundamentals Ep drops on Friday, 15th April. You can hear more of his music here.
Read more about the Moonbeats Warehouse Party here. Myrne will be headlining the Moonbeats Warehouse Party alongside Ryan Hemsworth and Slow Magic on Saturday, 16th April. Tickets can be purchased here
It is a great year to be Manfred Lim, or as the world knows him: MYRNE. Just this year alone, he released a collaborative album with local singer-songwriter Gentle Bones
played at ULTRA Miami 2018 and is about to play Tomorrowland 2018 in Belgium this July
We speak with the DJ – Producer – SMU undergrad since his return from Miami
with his thoughts on his exponential success in his music career
his musical breakthroughs and on his upcoming mainstage set at ULTRA Singapore
From watching legends play their music to thousands online to being there myself playing a small part left a huge mark on me
One thing that surprised me was that there was a lot more fireworks than advertised
The festival did their job booking fresh acts for the festival
now it’s my responsibility to throw down and curate my music to new audiences
https://www.instagram.com/p/BieHulcnzvQ/?taken-by=myrnemusic
owing to dance music being very methodical and formulaic
we went with something more experimental – leaving unnecessary overtones in samples untouched
letting myself make more mistakes when I record
It really shifted my view on how I’ve been making music for a while
I just went online – I laid out what I was searching for through uploading demos and remixes online
and like-minded producers from all over the world naturally gravitated
I also involved myself in founding and working with labels in the search of new producers (e.g
[rife with sarcasm] Usually I’d start the day with a few meet-the-people sessions
in order to better understand the needs and problems in our community
I’d take a walk in one of Singapore’s many parks to assess the health of our flora – I sometimes spend time planting several trees if I find foliage lacking
I’d buy a coffee or two from my HDB coffee-shop and return to my jumbo Yishun flat to make some music
It’s always annoying when I see an artist with a distinctive style
sound or genre totally jump ship and put out a pop record that sounds like it could have been made in any random Scandinavian studio
There’s a lot of dance-pop records that have distinctive sound and flavor – like collaborations by Skrillex
but it has a time and place – thousands of ravers equipped with waterbags aren’t looking to hear sultry tongue-in-cheek pop
But for fans of the project – there’ll be a surprise in store
I have no idea where my professional life will take me
but I appreciate having the same qualities as who I was before being into music to bleed into any ‘legacy.’ I’m just an ordinary dude with a strong work ethic that doesn’t take anything too seriously

Hublot is perhaps the biggest enfant terrible of the watchmaking world
visually arresting watches as well as its slew of famous ambassadors
Both of these are guided by the brand’s Art of Fusion philosophy
which dictates a union between tradition and cutting-edge developments
we are paying homage to it by connecting it to the future”.
Hublot’s latest move certainly cleaves to its art of fusion. The Swiss watchmaker has named homegrown DJ and producer Myrne
as its first‑ever Singaporean friend of the brand
He has been making waves in the local electronic dance music (EDM) scene since his debut in 2015
and he became the first Asian artist to be signed to record label Mad Decent
which was founded by Grammy award-wining American DJ Diplo
Myrne went on to become the first Singaporean to ever perform at renowned music festivals Tomorrowland in Belgium and Ultra Miami
and has worked with EDM heavyweights such as Martin Garrix and What So Not
Myrne announced his multi-record deal with Ultra Records
His partnership with Hublot is the latest “first-in-Singapore” feather in his cap
Did we mention that he is only 23 years old
(Related: Hublot Debuts With A Big Bang In Hanoi)
Myrne’s musical style is an energetic blend of future pop and R&B
and while he is a classically-trained pianist
he is largely self-taught as a DJ and producer
with educational material courtesy of YouTube and SoundCloud
He first started tinkering around with EDM as a 17-year-old student at St Andrew’s Junior College
armed with basic audio software and keyboards plugged into a regular Windows laptop
his penchant for mixing styles and sounds was evident—he reportedly mixed up a cheeky song using a chemistry teacher’s voice culled from a lecture recording
the Singapore Management University political science undergraduate still serves up tunes incorporating different musical genres
was a collaboration with R&B singer Sam Rui and singer-songwriter Gentle Bones
both young and upcoming Singaporean musicians
He also has an 11-track solo‑produced album due out in August
representing a shift in style from his previous works. We speak to Myrne about his music
Having experimented with different sounds and genres
why did you choose to focus on EDM?Myrne (M) It was the first obscure music genre I fell in love with when I was introduced to it in 2010
Music on the radio in Singapore at the time was full of ballads and four-piece bands
but it was electronic music that appealed to me because of its energy
there are so many different genres and I find myself experimenting in and across them. What do you want people to feel when they hear your music?M Everyone’s experience and emotions are subjective when it comes to appreciating music
so I’m not going to go and tell people what they should feel or think
Having people relate to any one of my songs in their own unique way is more than enough for me
How do you balance your music career with your university studies?M I really don’t
My philosophy towards higher education is that meaningful learning can only take place at the student’s volition
and not “forced” by key performance structures such as examinations
Doing the latter just gets you a cohort of young people who are really good at taking tests
and I appreciate lectures that let me learn about all sorts of things
But I’m not really bothered with keeping up with tests and grades. What has been your most memorable show experience?M It has to be my first-ever stint at Tomorrowland
I thought it was going to be one of those festivals with over 300 artists
where lesser‑known artists get zero attention
I was hanging around the stage at least two hours prior to my performance slot
the entire dancefloor had at least a thousand people under the afternoon sun
solely because I couldn’t find a lot of people around me with similar tastes
and I couldn’t afford to pack up and go elsewhere to find my music community. What does it mean to you to be named the first friend of Hublot in Singapore
And how did the relationship come about?M To me
it’s an affirmation that what I’m doing is unique
and I think it marks a shift in the world of watches
both in terms of the industry’s consumer demographics and what Hublot looks for in a partner
The relationship came about through a casual conversation a year ago [over e-mail]
I could feel their passion for music and their enthusiasm towards the partnership
so I agreed. Why did you choose the Big Bang Unico Titanium
and how does that watch represent you?M It’s a subtle watch with intricate details only visible under scrutiny
The construction of the piece also combines unexpected materials: rubber and titanium
which embodies my music philosophy perfectly
and has always had elements from different genres and places that I’ve been to
so it also represents an art of fusion in a way. How does your music and career align with Hublot’s vision?M Its 'Art of Fusion' philosophy relates to me on a professional and personal level
Hublot timepieces combine unexpected elements
and my artistic growth has always been about bringing different styles—both classic and modern—into my music.
Scroll through the gallery below to find out who Hublot’s other musical ambassadors are:
the Chinese pianist is one of the few in his genre to become a household name
and is a sort of classical music rock star
He is most famous for his flamboyant style both on and offstage
and always seeks to innovate the way classical music is played and enjoyed
Hublot has created several watches in collaboration with him
including—of course—a minute repeater.Photo 2 of 3 An American Latino singer-songwriter famous for his reggaeton hits
Nicky Jam was a long-time friend of the house before he became an official Hublot ambassador last year
His 2015 song El Perdón garnered him a Latin Grammy award
the official song of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia
for which Hublot is a key sponsor.Photo 3 of 3 Best known for his hit song Turn Down for What
and regularly performs at international music festivals including Ultra Singapore

you can add local DJ MYRNE and the Porsche Taycan to that prestigious list
the collaboration sees the marriage of man and machine to recreate a National Day classic – ‘Home’ – using the sounds from Porsche’s flagship EV
This has been achieved by sampling the natural tones and sounds from a Porsche – from doors ‘thudding’ shut to seatbelts ‘winding’
and the soft hum of the electric motor turning into an electrifying crescendo on sporty acceleration – MYRNE created a modern take on the 2001 classic."National Day songs bring Singaporeans together and are such a unique synthesis of creativity and culture
I wanted to take common and unnoticed sounds – like the sounds cars make in every day operation – and turn it into something special: in this instance
showcasing the beautiful musicality of a Porsche by creating an unexpected listening experience in celebration of our beloved lion city," MYRNE said
Porsche understands that the sound of their engines are just as iconic as the driving experience itself
which is why Porsche’s engineers have made sure that the Taycan preserves the aural aspect of motoring to maintain a certain depth and dimension to the drive. The task fell to Acousticians at Weissach
who worked on the Taycan since 2015 to create a special Porsche soundtrack that wasn’t just characteristic
sporty and powerful – but also full of feedback for the driver
The resultant Porsche Electric Sport Sound is an entirely innovative sound experience
Porsche will release the complete music video of the soundtrack in due course
and we’ll update the article to reflect it

A Vancouver teacher says students demanding to go back to school should keep protesting
“Schools are a big part of their social world

On Tuesday (September 2)—what was supposed to be the first day of school—students gathered outside the Vancouver Art Gallery to call for an end to the labour dispute between the B.C
Teachers’ Federation and the provincial government
an end to the teachers’ strike isn’t in sight
“I think we are feeling strong,” Ross said
and by that I mean I think our feet are on the ground
I don’t think we’re feeling frantic or erratic
I think we realize we’re in this for the long haul.”
Minister of Education Peter Fassbender claimed the BCTF has “refused every path to a fair deal”
“Our government has been very clear that we have no plans to legislate,” Fassbender wrote
“That would only keep us on the same dysfunctional treadmill we’ve been on for the past 30 years
we intend to stand firm and hope the union leadership drops its unrealistic demands so we can negotiate a fair agreement.”
Ross asserted that it’s up to the public to decide what the education system should look like and tell the government
She recalled that teachers have been talking about the issues of class size and composition as long as she’s been in the profession
“It isn’t just about how many designated special-needs children you have in the classroom,” Ross said
It’s an attempt to shift the paradigm of education.”

We want to be in schools.”"Go back to work then
The government isn't stopping the teachers from working
teachers are currently locked out of schools and have been since the middle of June
Do you honestly believe this is as simple as just "go back to work?!"
It is exactly that simple the BCSPEA offered to lift the lockout on August 20th
The government asked the union to canvas it's members on going back to work while mediation happened and the union refused
kids and teachers affected by the strike - about 900,000
Number of participants at an anti-government rally at the Minister of Education's office - 200 (?)
Number of parents taking advantage of the $40 per day support fund of money that used to belong to the teachers - about 180,000
Watching the BCTF and their misguided strategy come unglued at the seams - priceless
the teachers chose to walk out before they were locked out
I believe the teachers could choose to go back to work while the negotiations continue
Questions:1) What happened to the $5 million BCTF strike fund of 2013?2) I heard Jim Iker paid out $500
but is himselfcollecting FULL salary of $150,000
If he is so committed to "fairness"
heshould have immediately frozen his obscene salary
until this strike was over!3) Obviously Iker is in "way over his head"; I heard a 20 sec
clip on radio, and consider him a useless twit
I'll gladly send you the $10 to get a haircut (if you can't afford it)...you look like you just came in off Main & Hastings: at least look like a leader
Pumping more money into education won't help kids at all
The money will simply go to an already bloated union and its members
it's about taking as much as they can from the government
With excellent salaries and benefit packages that the rest of us working slobs can only dream about
BC teachers are already in the top ten percent of salary earners in BC
Their wage and benefit demands are completely out of line
They should accept it and get back to work.Class size and composition is a separate issue
The BC education system is the only institution in North America with a union behind it that's been gutted $2 billion dollars
It's a pretty sad state of affairs when the US itself hasn't done it yet when their union haters makes BC's look like saints
You basically can compare the BC liberal party to the Tea party in the US.
the liberals or the residents in BC who put them in power
Your hair was short-cropped and dyed orange
