The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine is considering the case of concentration in the form of the acquisition of the assets of the Hnidav Sugar Plant by the company Radekhiv Sugar. The German company Pfeifer & Langen owns Radekhiv Sugar and also owns four other sugar factories in the Ternopil region – in Zbarazh, Kozova, Khorostkov, and Chortkov.
Pfeifer & Langen GmbH & Co. KG is a German family company headquartered in Cologne. For more than 150 years, it has been producing and selling sugar and its derived products. Germany’s third largest sugar producer produces products under the Kölner Zucker and Diamant Zucker brands.
The Hnidavsky sugar factory is a sugar production enterprise located in Lutsk, which makes products under the Solodko trademark. The plant can process up to 6,000 tons of sugar beets per day.
