spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine
“The blocking of the Rava-Ruska checkpoint by Polish farmers does not end at the specified time
following a meeting with Polish colleagues
they informed that the preliminary unblocking of traffic for trucks in the direction of the Polish checkpoint Hrebenne by the protesters in Poland should take place at midnight on June 7 (Kyiv time)
the situation at this checkpoint is unchanged
"A small number of trucks are crossing the border towards Ukraine
there were about 50 trucks in the queue in Poland,” adds Demchenko
Polish protesters may unblock the Rava-Ruska checkpoint on the border with Ukraine on June 6

Ukrzaliznytsia is launching a railway connection between Lviv and Warsaw
The train will operate through the Rava-Ruska border crossing starting from October 15
2023.The route will involve a transfer since Ukrainian rail tracks have a different width (1520 mm) compared to European tracks (1435 mm)
Passengers will conveniently transfer between trains at the Rava-Ruska station
both on the way to Lviv and on the return journey
The train in Rava-Ruska will always wait for the train from Lviv or Warsaw
so passengers don't need to worry about missing the connection
The train schedule is designed to cover not only Lviv but also other cities along the route
This project is implemented in cooperation with the Polish railway carrier SKPL
whose rolling stock will operate routes between Warsaw and Rava-Ruska and vice versa
You can find the schedule and purchase tickets through the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile application

A train service between the Polish capital of Warsaw and Ukrainian city of Lviv will begin running again next week for the first time in 18 years
will run daily and can carry almost 500 passengers in each direction
The journey from Lviv to Warsaw will take almost 10 hours and the return journey around nine hours
Part of that time will be taken up by passengers having to switch trains in Rava-Ruska
a Ukrainian town around 10km from the border
because of differences in the width of tracks in the two countries
Beginning October 15, @Ukrzaliznytsia and the Polish railway carrier (SKPL) will inaugurate a fresh Lviv-Warsaw rail route through the Rava-Ruska station
Tickets can be purchased through mobile apps, chatbots, the Ukrainian Railway website, and international station offices. pic.twitter.com/kfsiud1jI1

The train service is being launched as a cooperation between Ukrzaliznytsia
The latter firm will operate the trains running between Warsaw and Rava-Ruska
is formally operated by Ukrzaliznytsia and it will not be possible to purchase tickets for travel on the line only within Polish borders
reports industry news service Rynek Kolejowy
“It took us more than six months to implement this project
to agree all the details with the Polish side and to open the checkpoint,” said Yevhen Lashchenko
chairman of Ukrzaliznytsia’s board of directors
10 more localities in Ukraine will be connected by rail to Warsaw and Lublin.”
the train will begin its journey 200 kilometres south of Lviv in Kolomyia
from where it will set off at 4.20 am Ukrainian time (GMT+3)
arriving at 8.30 am in Lviv and at 9.58 am in Rava Ruska
This will be followed by an hour-long break during the transfer to the train running from Rava-Ruska to Warsaw
The change is necessary because Ukrainian trains run on a 1520mm gauge
“Passengers should not worry about possible delays as the transfer has been agreed
The train will always be waiting for all passengers,” said Ukrzaliznytsia on its Telegram channel
The SKPL-operated train will depart from Rava-Ruska at 10.30 am and will stop in Lublin at 2.55 pm Polish time (GMT+2)
It will end its route at the Warszawa East station at 5.29 pm
The return train will depart from the same station at 9.45 pm and will arrive in Lviv at 7.45 am the next day
A record number of journeys were made by train in Poland last year.@PKPIntercityPDP, the main long-distance operator, carried 58.9 million passengers, beating the previous high of 49.6 million in 2019 https://t.co/MfpOi5JtTz

including both economic migrants and refugees who have arrived since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
about 40,000 people currently cross the Polish-Ukrainian border in both directions each day

including connections running between Kyiv and Przemyśl

These include the operation of lanes for empty transport directly at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk border crossing and the update of the functionality of the eQueue system – the ability to substitute drivers for empty trucks
Polish counterparts were once again proposed to allow empty transport through the Uhryniv-Dolhobychuv border crossing
Such an option would reduce waiting times for empty trucks at the border crossing
A decision on this proposal is still expected to come later
The agreement on transport visa-free regime was concluded in June 2022 and extended for another year in March 2023
