Andy Holt has been the owner of Accrington Stanley since October 2015
Accrington Stanley owner Andy Holt has agreed to continue funding the club up to £250,000 a year
despite recently saying he would step down after Saturday's end-of-season game against Chesterfield
Holt previously stated he would step down as chairman at the end of 2025 but would continue to support the club as he stepped back from the day-to-day running of things
In a statement, external at the end of April
Holt said he would end his time at the club "in any executive capacity" after Saturday's final game of the season
a further statement on Friday said that the club's budget would be set at a loss of £250,000 before the season starts and
if there is "limited football fortune" funds would be made available to make up the shortfall
"I'm not allowing 10 years of hard work by many committed people, to then let the club follow others out of the EFL," Holt said., external
"Despite what some local leaders think
the club is of prime importance to the town and community."
Holt's comments follow a row with the local council over the use of their stadium as a hospitality venue
In March, the League Two club were forced to close their hospitality suite after losing their entertainment licence amid complaints from nearby residents
