being picked up and taken from the Old Crown pub in Bartley Green
The owner of a two-year-old Boston Terrier from Birmingham said she and her family are "heartbroken" after her dog was allegedly stolen outside her local pub
CCTV footage appears to show Stacey Holland's dog
being taken from outside the Old Crown pub in Bartley Green on 20 March at around 6pm
West Midlands police has confirmed that they are investigating the incident and that it is being treated as theft
They also confirmed that no arrests have yet been made
my heart is shattered knowing that somebody has got her'
Speaking to ITV News Central about how the dog came to be at the pub
Stacey said: "Me and my daughter were cutting the grass in the garden
ran through the house and within two seconds the dog bolted because of the sound of the lawnmower and me and my daughter ran after her."
"Skye escaped from my house and we chased her down the road
we were under the impression that she was missing
then a witness came forward and said they saw somebody chase her"
"The following day a witness told us that they saw Skye being chased by a guy and then she was picked up outside the crown pub
We then checked with the pub and saw this happening in the footage"

Stacey explained how the dog "means the world" to her and her family
she is the most loving and we are lost without her
we can't sleep and my daughter is heartbroken"
my heart is shattered knowing that somebody has got her"
I feel like I am in a zombie state instead of being present
The family say there is additional worry as Skye has a health condition known as colitis
which means she has to be on a special diet
so if she has been taken for breeding then she won't be able to
Stacey described the moment she saw the pub's CCTV footage
"I burst into tears when I saw the footage
in a sense I was glad that she hadn't been harmed by being run over by a car but then anger took over
how can you take a dog that isn't yours and not give her back."
Stacey urged for the person responsible to return her beloved pet: "If you are worried about the consequences take her to the vet and I can get her home
I have still hope that she will be found and won't give up until I find her."
She also said said if anyone has recently acquired a dog that looks like Skye to take her to the vets as she is microchipped

He was the creator of a popular street racing account
The account would announce that an illegal meet would be happening

Nursery worker Jessica Roberts had hundreds of messages on her phone where she’d discussed attending and arranging meet-ups
All three admitted causing a public nuisance and were sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday

We’ve seized two dogs which were being sought following the death of a man in Rubery this week
We received information from the public which helped us track them down to grass land off Merritts Hill at just after 9.30am today
They were detained by specialist dog handlers and have been taken into kennels to undergo further assessment
Tests will be carried out to confirm their breed and this is expected to be concluded next week
We issued an appeal to help us locate the dogs as we believe they may have been involved in an incident where a man died in Hereford Close on Wednesday morning
We responded to reports of a number of dogs being loose
When we arrived a 33-year-old man was found dead in the back garden of where the dogs are believed to have come from
We seized some dogs from the address and we don’t believe there are any outstanding now
A post mortem has revealed the man died as a result of injuries consistent of being bitten by a dog
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this devastating time
Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact us via Live Chat on our website

Bartley aims to give next leader time to prepare for election and will focus on building progressive alliance
Electoral reform is needed urgently in the UK for the “progressive majority” to have their voices heard, a co-leader of the Green party has said as he announced plans to step down this month
who has served for five years as co-leader
said he wanted to leave enough time for his successor to take the reins before a possible snap general election before 2024
Bartley has not ruled out standing as an MP but will concentrate on building a progressive alliance across left-leaning parties
which collectively attracted more votes in the 2019 general election than the Conservatives and smaller rightwing and Eurosceptic parties combined
but which fell to a crushing defeat as Boris Johnson took an 80-seat majority in parliament
Under a fair voting system the Green party would have 50 MPs on its current poll ratings
“Once you reform our democracy it opens up huge possibilities,” he told the Guardian after announcing his departure on social media
“There is a progressive majority in this country but we will have Conservative governments as far as we can see because of first past the post.”
He accused the government of undermining democracy through a series of actions including changes to voter ID that Labour has said could disfranchise millions of people
This government recognises the threat to it from that
which is why they have these moves to change the voting system,” Bartley said
“The government is playing fast and loose with democracy
using our [unwritten] constitution to their advantage in a way that is shameful
Bartley, a south London councillor who is the longest-serving Greens leader, will stand aside at the end of July, and the other co-leader, Siân Berry, will remain in place until the race to replace them concludes.
Bartley said he was “hugely proud” of what the Greens had achieved in the five years of his leadership, claiming they had become a “major electoral force, vying to be the country’s third party”.
He said he was quitting because of the growing chance that Johnson could call a general election before May 2024, meaning a new leader would be needed quickly to get used to the role and begin planning for the election campaign.
Under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act, which Johnson has vowed to repeal, the next general election is due to take place on 2 May 2024. However, MPs can trigger an earlier contest if two-thirds of them vote to do so.
Speculation has grown in Westminster that Johnson may decide to go to the country in spring or autumn 2023, wanting an election before many of the tougher economic decisions have to be taken in the aftermath of Covid and before the public inquiry into the government’s handling of the pandemic is likely to have reported.
Bartley said leadership was about “empowering and encouraging others” and it felt like the right time to make way for new leaders. He paid tribute to the co-leaders with whom he had served – Lucas for two years and Berry, a London assembly member, for three.

She added: “Every member should applaud the huge part he has played in the Green party’s progress over the past five years
His departure leaves many impressive pairs of shoes to fill.”
A Green party spokesperson said details and a timetable for the leadership election would be announced in due course

'weapons included a machete and Zombie knives'
Stephen McCarron died from multiple slash and stab wounds after being attacked yards from his home in Bartley Green
Mr McCarron lived alone and regularly walked the same area as part of his morning routine
CCTV footage on the morning of 11 March earlier this year shows Mr McCarron have a brief verbal exchange with Tamari Greaves
as they crossed paths on Scotland Lane – Mr McCarron on foot and Greaves on his electric bike
Greaves was then captured returning to his flat and exiting a few minutes later
He appeared to be looking for someone and not long later the two men came into contact again on Bigwood Drive
This time the men confronted each other with weapons
Mr McCarron was carrying a machete and Greaves drew two Zombie knives
Sadly Mr McCarron suffered several severe blows causing catastrophic injuries
which had been quickly taken from him by Greaves
He managed to escape but collapsed a short distance away and
has now been found guilty of manslaughter and having a bladed weapon in a public place
said: “We may never know what sparked the confrontation between the two men which led to the death of one and the loss of freedom of the other
but I do know it was a senseless loss of life and my thoughts remain with Mr McCarron’s family.”
Following his death Mr MrCarron’s family paid tribute to him saying: “A much loved son
great uncle who be sadly missed by his family and friends in the West Midlands
Love Island returns to ITV2 tonight (28th June) for its seventh series and local 21 year old
A post shared by Liberty (@libertypoolex)
Laura Whitmore is at the helm as the Islanders do their best to flirt
couple up and try and avoid being ‘dumped’ from the iconic Mallorcan villa
fire pit gatherings and challenges await the lovestruck Islanders
meaning there’ll be plenty for them to dish the dirt on in the Beach Hut
What made you want to take part in the new series of Love Island
happy relationship so I think it will be nice and something for me to experience
Obviously I want the best summer ever because we have been in lockdown for a year so it would be nice to go away and enjoy the sun and make friends as well
I’m a bit of a social butterfly so I love to meet new people
I’m a girls’ girl as well so I can’t wait for the girly friendships
Have you seen awkward dates while working at Nando’s
How would your friends and family describe you
What are you looking for in a romantic partner
But obviously that’s always usually combined with player types
So I am trying to change my ways and go for more of a nicer guy that is going to treat me right
it’s all getting to know people like that but I actually am the world’s worst texter
I’d much rather go on a date and meet the person and I think Love Island is the perfect place to do that
It is all about meeting someone face-to-face
doing stuff like clumsy things on dates like I went to kiss a guy and I fell off the stool and stuff like that
There was one where we went for a few drinks and then we went to this old school bar and I got picked up on the dance floor like in Dirty Dancing
I was swung about on the dance floor like that
I felt like I was in a movie or something and then I went to the bathroom and these girls were like
You should see us in a game of Monopoly at Christmas
Alex Bowen looks wise but obviously he is with the beautiful Olivia
So it’s the energy or vibe that can obviously make or break a date
Do you have a party trick or special talent
I do a bit of ice skating here and there but I’m not like a pro at it
It’s just something I enjoy doing in my spare time
Sometimes I go ice skating for a date because none of my mates will come with me
Where would you like to see yourself in five years
Successful and travelling the world hopefully because for me
I’ve been quite lucky because my mum and dad live abroad so travelling is something I have always done since I was a kid so every time I travel or see a site or a bit of architecture
it completely opens my mindset and I love it
I would literally spend my whole life travelling if I could
Alexander Leonard was killed after confronting Cameron Martin-Leon, then 16, who was behaving aggressively in Woodgate Gardens on the evening of 3rd July
Witnesses said Martin-Leon had been bragging earlier about carrying a knife
Paramedics were unable to save Alex and he died in hospital
Martin-Leon was arrested shortly after the incident when paramedics were called to his home in nearby Allwood Gardens
He was sentenced to life imprisonment at Birmingham Crown Court today (Tuesday 23rd January)
The judge ruled that he should serve a minimum term of at least 14 years and lifted reporting restrictions
West Midlands Police is warning of the dangers of carrying knives in public
said: “This case has been a tragic reminder of the dangers of anyone carrying a knife
“This was a dreadful escalation of events which led to one young man losing his life while another faces a life sentence
Our thoughts are with their families whose lives are also devastated by these tragic events.”
On behalf of all of Alex’s family and friends
A statement said: “Lives have been destroyed and families traumatised
Life as we knew it ceased to be on 3 July 2017
Two mothers have had their dreams and aspirations for their sons shattered and broken as are our hearts and the hearts of everyone who knew Alex.”
The statement said: “There currently seems to be an epidemic of knife crime sweeping through our communities
“Children are carrying knives through fear of what might happen or what has happened to them or a member of their families
it is clear that not enough is being done about it on a local level or a national level.’
The statement appeals directly to the government
saying: “Where is the government’s support for our police forces to support communities and those who try to make a better world?”
DI Corfield added: “We are working tirelessly to understand the reasons why young people carry knives
We work closely with schools and parents to educate
as we continue to bring offenders to justice
Anyone found in possession of a knife faces the real possibility of ending up behind bars
“We understand people’s concerns around violent crime and the effect it can have on communities
While it makes up a very small proportion of overall crime
we appreciate the disproportionate impact it has on people’s quality of life and feelings of safety
“If people do suspect someone is carrying a knife in public
or have any concerns relating to knife crime in their community

The car had been linked to gun crime thanks to an investigation led by the city’s complex crime team
and bodycam footage captures the moment one of the firearms officers spots an item thrown from the moving car on Summerhill Road
It was found and turned out to be a loaded revolver
The pursuit continued until the car was abandoned on Morville Street in Ladywood and the three men in the car fled
Two were followed on foot and arrested on grassland

was the front seat passenger in the car and admitted possession of the firearm
He has now been jailed for eight years and two months

He was jailed for a year and banned from driving for 18 months
A third man was originally charged with possession of a firearm but he was later found to have no case to answer
said: “This was great work by our officers who showed real determination to stop this car
knowing that those in it may be linked to gun crime
“The video shows their determination and professionalism in arresting the men
and as a result we’ve taken a gun off the streets and put a dangerous offender behind bars.”
A man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the murder of his long term partner at her home in Bartley Green last year
Laura Holden, 35, was killed at her home in Monmouth Road in August last year, by her ‘on/off’ partner of 19 years
She was found drowned in the bath by her sister and 17 year old daughter after an argument with Thomas
Thomas had refused to accept that their relationship was over after Laura had met someone else
telling his 9 year old son not to go in the bathroom
Thomas was found by police a short time later
In a statement
Laura’s family said: “We take some comfort in the sentence passed today although it will be nothing like the life sentence we now have to live with
cousin and friend can only live in our memories now
There are no words to describe the horror we have had to go through over the past months and I hope none of you ever have to experience it
“We will go on with our lives because we have to but there will forever be that void where Laura should be
our homicide case worker and our barrister Mr Price for their hard work and support throughout this ordeal
We thank the press for respecting our privacy and politely ask they continue to do so
so we can start to rebuild our broken lives.”
West Midlands Police Detective Inspector Warren Hines said: “This has been a truly horrific time for Laura’s family who are struggling to come to terms with what has happened to them and I cannot imagine the sense of loss they feel
I hope the sentence will be of some comfort to them and help them rebuild their lives.”

Birmingham Crown Court on Newton Street(Image: Martin O'Callaghan / Birmingham Live)A teenager raped an 11-year-old girl in a playground and 'didn't care' how old she was
Kyrel Denham initiated 'sexual intercourse' with the victim after she failed to meet her mother from school and spent the night with him instead
said she was subsequently left scared to leave the house and was bullied over the ordeal
In a statement she wrote: "I want my life back."
Denham, of Bridgewood Grove, Bartley Green
carried out the attack a few days after his 18th birthday in 2020
He admitted a charge of rape but on a basis that was largely rejected
Birmingham Crown Court heard that the now 20-year-old had a number of mental health disorders and was vulnerable himself
he was sentenced to three years and seven months on top of an additional year-long licence period due to being deemed 'an offender of particular concern'
READ MORE: One-punch kill is a warning to angry young men behind vicious city attacks
He was told he would be entitled to apply for parole soon having spent more than two years in custody on remand
Prosecutor Lisa Hancox said the victim: "Didn't meet her mum after school
Instead she spent the night in the company of the defendant and other young people
She and the defendant ended up in a playground."
In a statement the victim described the difficulty of having to tell her mother what happened as well as feeling like 'I don't want to be here'
She added that her education had been impacted due to being bullied
told the court Denham had autism and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) stating they were 'inherently linked to his offending'
He argued his client required 'targeted intervention' as opposed to prison and said: "He wants to build a life and wants to get away from Birmingham and the situation he found himself in and attempt to make something of his life
He is an intelligent young man despite his difficulties."
Judge Avik Mukherjee had presided over a trial of issue hearing where he ruled against elements of Denham's basis of plea
He said: "I concluded it was obvious she was very young
even in school uniform she was still very young
"You made no attempt to find out how old she was before any sexual activity took place
I concluded you just didn't care because you wanted to have sex with her irrespective of her age
"You turned what we call a blind eye to what was obvious
I concluded you were the one who initiated sexual activity and you were the one who started it but there was no violence from you
or her trying to prevent you from having sexual activity with her."
Judge Mukherjee stated it was a 'complex' sentencing exercise where he had to balance the victim
Denham's mental state alongside the need to 'meet the ends of justice'
He concluded 'only immediate custody can be justified' and added: "I'm not convinced at this stage there is a realistic prospect of of rehabilitation because you have shown
"Although there is strong personal mitigation it's not so sufficient that it allows me to take a wholly exceptional course and pass a non-custodial sentence."
