The Blacon Seals will be taking on another fundraising challenge this festive period
trekking 23.4 miles from Chester FC to Marine AFC on Boxing Day to help improve facilities for disabled supporters at the Deva Stadium
Last year the group raised thousands of pounds for Maddie and Ava
two incredible girls facing daunting health challenges
by walking to our New Year’s Day fixture at Warrington Town
The goal this time around is to raise at least £10,000 towards the accessibility viewing platform project
which will make the stadium more inclusive
providing covered accommodation for up to 13 wheelchair users and their companions
the installation of a lift providing access to the first floor
the route will take the walkers along the A41 via Eastham and into Birkenhead
where the group will take a train across the River Mersey to James Street
before heading north to Crosby and aiming to arrive at the Marine Travel Arena around 1pm
Almost £7,000 has already been raised and the Blacon Seals are asking for supporters and local businesses to help them reach their fundraising target
Donate: You can make a donation online at www.justgiving.com/page/cfcctxblaconseals and every penny counts
The walkers will also have donation buckets with them along the route and at the match
100 Club: More than 60 businesses and groups have joined the Chester FC 100 Club by donating or pledging to donate at least £100 towards the project. Members receive four game tickets and a 100 Club plaque displayed on the new accessibility platform once it’s built. Interested? Contact Russ at blaconseals@gmail.com
Support: If you are heading to the game on Boxing Day and see the group along the route
please give them a wave or a beep as your encouragement will be greatly appreciated
Blacon Seals wish to thank GWG Catering who have offered to provide breakfast batches and hot drinks to the walkers prior to departure
and Hope + Glory who have kitted the walkers out with tops for the walk
