The new owners of The Waterfront in Brierley Hill have highlighted plans to upgrade the landmark bridge
add EV chargers and to host more events as they aim to put the canalside complex on the map
Real estate investors Parcap now own the sprawling 42-and-a-half acre site and say they have big plans for its development
has outlined plans to give the landmark bridge across the canal an upgrade with lights and features as part of maintenance work and to make it "look a little bit nicer"
There are also plans to introduce EV charging bays to give electric car drivers a convenient place to re-charge on site
No locations have been decided on yet but it is hoped they may be located by the marina
The two remaining vacant food and beverage units at The Waterfront are also expected to be filled shortly and there are plans to host more events at the waterside complex in the not too distant future
Mr Hall said a recent Digbeth Dining Club event on April 11 went down a treat and it is hoped there will be more similar events throughout the year
He told the Express & Star: "We're going ahead with the Mary Stevens Hospice duck race this year on June 29 and we're hoping to do something for Black Country Day as well
We're looking to mark various events throughout the year."
The Mayor of the West Midlands Richard Parker and Stourbridge MP Cat Eccles
recently stopped off at the complex to hear about the regeneration plans
Mr Hall said: “We were very proud to welcome the Mayor of the West Midlands who offered his fulsome support for what we are doing here
We are absolutely clear that whereas Solihull boats Blythe Valley and Birmingham has Brindley Place so the Black Country has Waterfront.“
"Our plans are to compete on that level and attract businesses from the wider Black Country and Birmingham
We were delighted to have the local MP Cat Eccles with us again and that she chose Waterfront as an example of a success story in her constituency
We look forward to working with both of them and Dudley Council in the coming years.”

A couple who oversaw a 'complete refurbishment' of a historic Brierley Hill pub have announced they are leaving due to economic reasons
Lee and Jessica Davies announced that this weekend (April 26 and 27) is their last at The Black Horse on Delph Road
The couple took on the pub, on the famous 'Delph Run', in August last year and moved in with their two children
Extensive refurbishments were carried out including a complete renovation of the kitchen which was given a five star rating
they say there simply isn't enough trade to keep the doors open and they can't achieve the numbers expected for it to remain sustainable
It said: "This on top of the heavy financial losses we have made this year
"Meeting all of you has been a blessing and we have made some friends for life
"We have had some amazing nights and will cherish those memories
"We hope whoever the new owners are will continue with the same passion that we have had for the pub and continue with the improvements."
The news was met with sorrow by a number of customers who posted their comments
Jess I know you’ve done your best guys and hope things will work out on your next adventures wherever life takes you both
Love the Monday night quiz and hopefully Dannii and Aaron will be able to continue there."
Abby Rose said: "Really sorry to hear this
you’ve made a lovely pub with a warm welcome
And Paula Hughes posted: "So sad to hear this
You've done a great job bringing the pub and the Delph back to life."
Lee said the pub would be open until today (Sunday

Archaeologists have uncovered the remains of a World War II structure during improvement works to Marsh Park in Brierley Hill
Dudley Council has been working with the Friends of Marsh Park to deliver more than £120,000 of investment at the popular town park using Future High Streets Funding
Volunteers from Wolverhampton Archaeology Group (WAG) have worked with the Friends group to find the remains of a structure
which is believed to have been manned during World War II as a look out post for German bombers
Other work to the park has included planting meadow grass and trees where the Knott Centre was formally based
pathway improvements including on the well-used ‘Heroes Walk’ path
a new viewing and seating area with specialist World War II benches and an information lectern
The funding has also enabled some improvements to be made at St Michaels Church
with paths and the car park having been resurfaced and an overgrown gravel area being cleared and turfed for making future maintenance easier
we are investing £120,000 in improving and securing it for future generations
“We are immensely grateful to the Friends of Marsh Park and to Wolverhampton Archaeology for supporting these works and we are fascinated that they have uncovered remains from a World War II structure
“It is likely the building served as a look out post for German bombers
who were attacking factories in the Black Country and Birmingham at that time
and we will be leaving the remains exposed for park visitors to see.”
“It's so great for the town and park to have a tangible link to its war time past
thanks to the hard work done by the knowledgeable archaeologists
“We are appealing to anyone who might have a picture of information about the lookout structure to come forward
as we still have so much to learn about it
we’re looking for new park volunteers to help us as we continue to make improvements and people can get in touch with us to find out more.”
People with information about the structure and anyone wanting to get involved with the Friends group can contact culture@brierleyhill.net
The council has confirmed that further work is planned for Marsh Park this summer including improving remaining entrances
repainting of railings and benches and planting and bedding
St Michael’s Churchyard will also receive further landscaping and entrance improvements
