Dartford’s fourteen-game unbeaten league run at Bericote Powerhouse Princes Park was ended by an excellent Carshalton Athletic side in front of 1,851 supporters on a glorious afternoon
It was a tough start for Ady Pennock’s side
as the Robins frustrated the Darts at the back and were efficient at the other end
the warning signs were soon evident when Carshalton tested Jacob Marsden within three minutes
before the excellent Abdulla Salami did indeed fire the visitors ahead after ten minutes
The hosts did begin to grow into the game after a while
with Michael Olarewaju forcing Aaron Watkins into a superb save from his long-range drive (26)
Olly Box followed that up with a strike of his own
but it was deflected behind by a Robin defender (33)
and it wasn’t long before Carshalton broke through with a swift counter-attack… only to see Salami fire agonisingly wide of the far post (39)
as Brian Ifeanyi tapped home to provide the visitors with a two-goal cushion at the break (45+5)
Ady Pennock made three changes in personnel at the start of the second-half
The Dartford boss would go on to replace Michael Olarewaju with Louis Dunne (75) in a bid to salvage something from the game
The changes had a positive impact initially
with Eddie Dsane firing narrowly wide of Watkins’ upright (48)
before George Whitefield met Hayden Bullas’ deep cross to head in his ninth goal of the season and halve the deficit (65)
Olly Box sent a free-kick straight into the grateful arms of Watkins (71)
before Jeremiah Pinder missed a glorious opportunity to equalise from close-range (78)
substitute Nabael Ghannam restored the visitors’ advantage with a low strike (82)
before netting his second of the afternoon to seal the win for the Robins deep into stoppage time (90+6)
Hayden Bullas’ excellent performance was a bright spark for the Darts this afternoon
a performance of which earned him a thoroughly deserved Man of The Match award to go along with his assist for Whitefield’s goal
Dartford had already confirmed a place in the playoffs which begin with the visit of Cray Valley PM next week
Josh Hill and Co will certainly be ready for the next stage of what has been a thrilling and competitive season

Isthmian Premier – Saturday 15th March – Match Report
Carshalton Athletic 2
Cray Wanderers 1
Cray Wanderers outside hopes of reaching the Isthmian Premier playoffs took a knock as Carshalton Athletic moved up to 6th after a last gasp victory as ex-Wand Mason Saunders-Henry bundled in a header in the last minute to edge a closely fought match at Colston Avenue
Cray edged a goalless first half of few chances but fell behind in the 61st minute when Fabio Saraiva who was on the day the best Robins player fired in from Olu Babajide’s cross
Cray showed their resilience and levelled in the 73rd minute through substitute Victor Damyanov who showed great composure for one so young to slip the ball through Aaron Watkins’ legs
Carshalton though were not to be denied the three points can claimed the points with a scrappy winner when a free kick was glanced against the post and Saunders-Henry headed in from close range
The win keeps Carshalton just two points behind 5th placed Dover and must be considered live playoff contenders
On a mild afternoon played in mid-March sunshine throughout the match pitted the teams in 8th and 10th at the start of the game and although it wasn’t a classic after a fairly sedate first half hour it became an intriguing contest between two confident sides with the Cray Massive in good hearty voice behind the goal
There was a blow for Cray with Soul Kader absent through an injury picked up in training so fellow Bromley loanee George Penn came in his place with ex-Robin Nyren Clunis playing as the loan striker
Carshalton had lost just one of the last 11 league games and there was an unchanged lineup to the side which won at Cheshunt last Saturday with a couple of other ex-Wands starting in Josh Shonibare and David Smith
The match started with Carshalton threatening with a shot wide from Michael Dada but Cray very lively and won a couple of corners and were playing the ball around nicely but couldn’t quite get into a real position to test Aaron Watkins seriously in the Robins goal
For Carshalton Dada saw a shot held by Shaun Rowley but the game began to pick up and in the 30th minute Josh Williams cut inside from the right and hit a low shot saved by Watkins
Sharon Ifeanyi down the right put over a cross that was pushed away and came to Paris Hamilton-Downes whose shot was turned round the left post well by Rowley
Cray came closest in the first half to breaking the deadlock five minutes before the break when down the right of the area Williams fired in a shot at the near post pushed out by Watkins and then saved the follow up strike from Lateef Adaja
At half time it seemed like the game was just beginning to warm up and little to choose between the teams
The second half began very scrappy but livened up when Fabio Saraiva received the ball for Carshalton and he hit a decent strike from the edge of the area which Rowley had to get behind and push over for a corner
striker Tom Borders came on for George Penn and showed some positive touches up front but chances for Cray were few and far between
In the 61st minute Carshalton took the lead when a loose ball was picked up Saraiva who played the ball out to the left to Olu Babujide who had time to play in a cross into the box for Saraiva who hit the ball first time into the net from 12 yards
Cray now had to stay in the game with Victor Damyanov coming on for Adaja and Eze Ebezoume fired a shot well over the bar
The Wands though kept plugging away and over the game deservedly levelled when down the right Williams worked his way to just outside the area and unselfishly laid the ball across to Damyanov who with supreme confidence and assurance slotted the ball under Watkins for his first league goal of what could be many for the Wands
A draw was probably not the score both were looking for in their quest for the playoffs and both tried to get a positive result
Frankie Raymond fired over from a free kick in a central position twenty yards out
Carshalton almost took the lead when Luke Read from outside the box hit a fine strike which Rowley did superbly to push over for a corner
It was the final minute when Carshalton won a free kick out on the right and the ball into the box saw a header glanced against the left post possibly by David Smith but following up substitute Mason Saunders-Henry was nodded into the net
Cray looked to respond in the added time with Tom Bonner playing up front but it wasn’t to be as the final ball into him was lacking and in the end ran out of time and made it back to back away defeats against fellow playoff contenders but had run them close and maybe a game where a point apiece would have been a fair reflection of the proceedings
The Wands will next have two home matches to finish March with Bowers & Pitsea who need the points to move off the bottom of the table on Saturday 22nd March and then Dover who are now just two points clear of Carshalton and Chichester City on 29th March

Bromley Football Club can confirm that full-back Nathan Paul-Lavaly and forward Soul Kader have joined Isthmian League Premier Division side Carshalton Athletic on a one-month loan
Paul-Lavaly played the full 90 in our first ever home EFL game against AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup before going on to make two further senior appearances against Chelsea U21s and Charlton Athletic respectively in the EFL Trophy
has also featured for Bromley B on multiple occasions this season too
he’s recently returned after a lengthy spell on the sidelines
The forward featured a couple of times for the first team at the beginning of last season before picking up an injury which kept him out of action for over a year
Kader scored his first senior goal at home to Wealdstone during our promotion winning season

Dover Athletic suffered a frustrating 3-1 defeat against Carshalton Athletic at the Megger Community Stadium
despite controlling large portions of the match and creating multiple chances
The match began with Dover on the front foot
controlling possession and looking the more dangerous side
Francis Mampolo had an early opportunity in the eighth minute
but his effort was well saved by Carshalton goalkeeper Mackenzie Foley
with an audacious long-range volley narrowly missing the target in the 17th minute
The home side looked particularly threatening from set-pieces
with George Nikaj heading just wide in the 21st minute and Luke Baptiste also going close two minutes later
Dover found themselves behind against the run of play in the 42nd minute
A cutback into the penalty area saw David Smith’s initial attempt blocked
but he reacted quickly to slot home from close range
Dover had a golden opportunity to level the score early in the second half when they were awarded a penalty in the 53rd minute
but his low strike to Foley’s left was brilliantly saved by the Carshalton keeper
Carshalton doubled their lead in the 69th minute
beating his marker on the left and squaring the ball for Mason Saunders-Henry
who calmly slotted past Jordan Gillmore to make it 2-0
the visitors put the game beyond reach as Joshua Shonibare managed to squeeze the ball into the bottom corner from a tight angle
Dover made a series of substitutions to try and change the game
but they could only manage a late consolation goal
Baptiste finally got his reward for a determined performance
finding the net to ensure the match ended 3-1
Despite having numerous opportunities throughout the match
Dover were left ruing their wastefulness in front of goal
The Whites dominated for large spells but lacked the cutting edge needed to capitalise on their superiority

After two long away trips over the festive period to face Potters Bar Town and Dover Athletic
we return home for our next match against Carshalton Athletic on Saturday
The two clubs have faced each other regularly in recent years
in fact since the Hornets were promoted to the Isthmian Premier Division they have played each other ten times
with the Robins often coming out on top with five wins
Our visitors were undoubtedly the better team when the Hornets first arrived in the Premier Division having regularly made the play-offs and
when the Hornets have finished near the top of the table
the Robins have been a mid-table side and this has been reflected in the ‘head to head’ results
Currently Horsham are in 5th place with 38 points
four places above Carshalton who have 32 points
Current league form also favours the hosts who are second only to Dartford with five wins and just a solitary loss in their last six compared to our visitors who have two wins
Carshalton are currently managed by Peter Adeniyi who was at the helm from 2017 through to 2022 before departing help out his previous club Merstham who were battling to avoid relegation at the time
Carshalton is in the London Borough of Sutton where they have had a fierce rivalry for many years with Sutton United
their matches drawing large crowds in excess of 1500
Their other local rivals include Kingstonian and Tooting & Mitcham
The Robins signed goal scorer David Smith in November
and he has notched eight goals in all competitions
But the club stalwart is undoubtedly skipper Tommy Bradford who now plays as an attacking midfielder
He scores plenty of goals and has racked up over 150 in his 13 years wearing a Robins jersey
Manager Dom Di Paola speaking on Thursday evening was asked if he was prioritising the forthcoming game against Worthing in the Sussex Senior Cup
the next game is always the one I focus on
We won’t worry about Worthing until after Saturdays match.”
Giving an update on player availability he said: “‘We have picked up a lot of injuries recently
It’s been the worst period of the season so far in that respect
and it’s the result of having to cope with so many matches
“Brivs (Jack Brivio) is the most concerning
Bobby-Joe Taylor has a hamstring injury and could be out for several weeks
Ajakaiye is still not quite right but could be back soon
“Philpot is not improving at the moment and may need another couple of weeks
and to add to that list Dicko annoyingly picked up a knock against Dover and won’t play Saturday
“But on a positive note the whole squad has been used in recent weeks
most players have got minutes under their belts and have performed well when called upon.”
but can the Hornets make it five wins in a row and start the New Year with a bang
Turnstiles will open at 12pm with the match kicking off at 3pm with all the usual offerings there for everyone to enjoy
Pick up an award-winning programme (£3 cash at the kiosk or pay by card in the club shop) and a 50/50 draw ticket
then make your way to our comfortable clubhouse
All our food and drink outlets will be open as usual

Isthmian Premier – Saturday 30th November – Match Report
Cray Wanderers 1
Carshalton Athletic 1
Cray Wanderers edged out of the bottom four into 18th place in the Isthmian Premier after a 1-1 draw against Carshalton Athletic in a brisk and lively encounter at Flamingo Park
The game picked up pace from the 35th minute when Carshalton were awarded a penalty and ex-Wand David Smith’s spot kick was turned aside superbly by Shaun Rowley for his third penalty save of the season
Carshalton who had been on top in the first half took the lead three minutes later when Abdul Sankoh tucked home a tidy finish down the left of the area but two minutes later Nathan Jeche scored his first Cray Wanderers goal firing in from Darion Dowrich’s cross
The dramatic half continued into stoppage time when Kwaku Frimpong was sent off for Carshalton for a tackle on Nyren Clunis
The second half saw no goals but Cray came close to winning the game with Josh Williams twice denied by fine saves from Dion Henry and late on Lateef Adaja saw an effort blocked by Olu Atewologun but in the end finished in a draw as Cray continued a decent run of form against the Robins
The game was the first at Flamingo Park in the league since 2nd November and on a mild afternoon totally in contrast to last Saturday’s breezefest at Canvey Island
Cray began the game in 19th place and from the side which played at Canvey there were a couple of changes to the starting lineup for Cray with Toby King coming in for Lateef Adaja
winger Josh Shonibare previously with Derby County
Carshalton in 8th place are a very good footballing side and had drawn at Hastings United in midweek and there were three changes to their starting lineup with Oliver Hamstead
Tommy Bradford and Abdul Sankoh coming in for Paris Hamilton-Downes
The match began at a brisk pace and Cray came close in the 2nd minute when Josh Williams down the right flashed a shot across goal
Then down the left Darion Dowrich set up Toby King for a low shot which was blocked inside the area
Carshalton came close in the 8th minute when from a corner down the right
the ball came to Oliver Hamstead who with his back to goal planted a shot against the top of the crossbar
the very lively Sharon Ifeanyi made a run forward down the left and played the ball out to the far post where Kola Salami fired wide
This was followed by Shaun Rowley’s clearance being miss-hit under pressure and hit Frankie Raymond and looped over for a corner
In the 19th minute Carshalton came closest yet when Salami was put through despite Remi Sutton being down with a head knock but Shaun Rowley made an excellent blocked save
Williams shot well wide and then at the other end from a corner
The game had been engaging but the last ten plus minutes of the half saw the match open up dramatically
In the 35th minute Carshalton were awarded a penalty which at first viewing looked a bit harsh as down the left Ifeanyi was deemed to have been brought down by Ike Orji close to the left byline
David Smith who had scored five goals in eight games saw his penalty pushed out brilliantly by Shaun Rowley at his left post to make it three penalties saved out of five in match play this season
That was a temporary reprieve for Cray when in the 38th minute Carshalton took the lead when Kwaku Frimpong played a superb ball through to Abdul Sankoh who down the left of the area tucked away a tidy finish and had been on the cards
Cray Wanderers though showed great character to hit back within two minutes when the again excellent Darion Dowrich picked up the ball down the left and ran towards goal and put over a cross which fell to Nathan Jeche to fire into the net form ten yards for his first Wands goal
The game still continued to be dramatic and before halftime Fabio Camacho-Saraiva’s free kick outside the area was deflected over for a corner for Carshalton
in the 3rd minute of stoppage time the Robins were reduced to ten men when Frimpong was shown a straight red card for a stern challenge on Nyren Clunis and the half came to a dramatic close
The second half was a bit more pragmatic but was still an incredibly watchable contest and both defences and keepers were in top form
Carshalton began lively and Ifeanyi saw an early cross cleared away while for Cray a good cross from Ike Orji was met by a header from Charlie Edwards which was claimed by Dion Henry
After Lateef Adaja was introduced in place of Edwards
Cray created two big openings in two minutes with first from a free kick out on the left
Franke Raymond’s cross was helped across by Tom Bonner and Josh Williams low header was met by an excellent scooped save by Henry low down by the left post
Williams came close again when from 20 yards saw his goalbound shot pushed over the bar one handed by Henry
This was followed by Toby King playing a good ball through to Jeche who shot wide of the left post and then substitute and debutante Josh Shonibare shot wide at the right post from Raymond’s ball across
Smith from a free kick in a decent position to the right of the area saw his shot hit the frame behind the goal
Remi Sutton’s cross came to Shonibare who set up King who lashed a shot wide
With ten minutes to go Carshalton had a flurry going forward and Darnell Goather-Braithwaite hit a shot which Rowley got down to save
Ifeanyi’s excellent deceptive cross-shot Rowley got a slight touch to divert the ball and Bonner did well to clear the ball away
From here though with the game going into the dying minutes and six minutes of injury time Cray came closest to picking up all three points
Sutton’s cross was glanced off substitute Kenny Coker for Jeche who shot just wide of the left post
Cray were unlucky not to score when Bonner played a ball forward for Adaja to chase down the right but Henry in goal was caught a bit out of his goal and a Adaja looked to shoot Olu Atewologun made a great blocked tackle and the ball was put behind for a corner close to the goal line
There was still time from the corner for Coker to head wide but in the end a good game of football ended honours even and Cray had played well especially in the second half and merited at least a point at the end
Cray move up one place to 18th place on 16 points and now as the year begins to wind down will be looking to continue to grab points to look to move away from the bottom four
Performances have generally been very good in the last few games and haven’t quite got the points haul deserved
three points outside the playoffs look a good outside bet for promotion but Cray have matches coming up against sides like Dover
Billericay and Hendon and shows just how tough and competitive this league is this season and Cray will be fighting in all games to give them all a contest
The Wands next game will be on Saturday 7th December at Bowers & Pitsea
3 pm ko and the next home match vs Chichester City on Tuesday 10th December
Folkestone Invicta began November with a defeat at Carshalton Athletic
Andy Drury’s side unable to end a winless run a The War Memorial Sports Ground that stretches all the way back to 2008
Invicta landed up without captain Ian Gayle
Further bad fortune befell Drury in the warm up at winger Matthias Fanimo pulled up with a niggle that would force a change before kick off
Invicta started the afternoon strong and it didn’t take long for Dan Smith to score his 10th goal of the season
After Smith was caught by a defender in the 8th minute
Jack Jebb delivered the free kick from a wide right position to find Invicta’s top scorer
powerful and too much for debutant keeper Sam Roberts to keep out
It took some time for Carshalton to eventually begin to get on top in the came
a first chance coming for them in the 29th minute as the dangerous Sharon Ifeanyi found Abdul Sankoh inside the penalty area who struck his first time effort against the post
The hosts had very much grown into the game and were undoubtedly on top before half time but Invicta had defended well to otherwise limit them to a few effort from distance that would have cleared the car park behind the stand had it not been for the netting there to catch them
Carshalton created a first opening for debutant scorer David Smith within 5 minutes of the restart
the former Invicta bagsman having signed from Cray Wanderers earlier in the week
Smith got himself onto a ball into the front post but was unable to turn it on target
The key moment of the afternoon came in the 56th minute as Sam Blackman had a goal ruled out for offside
Jebb delivered another dangerous free kick into the box
Blackman heading back across the goalkeeper and inside the post only for the linesman’s flag to deny Invicta a 2-0 lead despite replays showing Blackman clearly onside
He was shortly afterwards replaced by Joe Turner
making his debut for Invicta having joined from Horsham
Mason Saunders Henry meeting a low corner at the front post to turn it home and level the scores
Invicta limited the hosts to 1 long range effort on 70 minutes that headed just past the post but resistance was finally broken inside the last 10 minutes
a cross from the right taking a touch off an attacker at the front post that diverted it into the path of David Smith for a tap in to give Carshalton the lead
Despite being second best in the second half
Invicta were able to apply late pressure and very nearly snatched a point with virtually the final kick of the afternoon
Gavin Hoyte delivered a cross from the right that found Dan Smith 15 yards from goal
Smith firing a vicious volley towards goal only to see it rattle back off the crossbar
Carshalton would survive the final seconds to make it 12 games between the sides without a win for Invicta

Manager Dom Di Paola will hope he can commemorate his 10th anniversary since taking charge of the Hornets with victory over Carshalton Athletic this Saturday
as the title race and play-off push heats up for both sides
Horsham need just a solitary point to guarantee an Isthmian Premier play-off place for a second successive year
while three points could elevate them to top of the table
depending on any slip ups from the top two
who travel to Whitehawk and Potters Bar Town respectively
a win will at the very least keep Horsham firmly in the title race with only three games to go
Saturday’s opponents are embroiled in their own promotion fight
as one of six teams with a feasible chance of claiming the other two remaining play-off spots
Though that task was made more difficult after a 3-0 defeat to fellow contenders Chatham Town most recently
they’ll still be looking to pounce on any dropped points from those above them
The Robins’ form has been mixed of late
they embarked on a six-game winning streak between January and February
but their last six games have seen them lose twice
win thrice and draw once – a 4-4 epic with Bognor Regis Town
their results have been remarkably consistent
with four of the last five games in all competitions ending in narrow 1-0 victories
they’ve not been involved in a game that the winning side has won by two goals or more since February 1st
even if some of the performances have been more dominant than the record books would suggest
some may look nervously at the importance of goal difference
Ahead of our short excursion to The War Memorial Ground
They have also already got one over Peter Adeniyi’s side this season
The return fixture at The Fusion Aviation Community Stadium in January ended comfortably with Reece Myles-Meekums
Charlie Hester-Cook and James Hammond supplying the goals in a 3-0 win
can Dom Di Paola register his 264th league win for the Hornets or will the Robins spoil the party
with supporters encouraged to don their yellow
or pink HFC bucket hats for the occasion in what is being dubbed ‘Bucket Hat Day’ by fans
Always a well-attended fixture, predominantly due to the close proximity and direct public transport links, kick-off at Colston Avenue is at 3pm, and tickets can be bought in advance HERE
and supporters are encouraged to buy in advance as ‘on the gate’ prices are an extra £1:
The Hornets continued their impressive run of form
with this emphatic 3-0 victory over Carshalton Athletic making it five wins on the bounce to consolidate their 5th place position in the Isthmian Premier Division Table
with two games in hand over most of the teams above them
Reece Meekums broke the deadlock late in the first half and Charlie Hester-Cook gave the hosts a two-goal cushion three minutes after the interval
to which James Hammond added a stoppage time penalty to secure a comfortable victory

Carshalton Athletic v Cray Wanderers – Isthmian Premier – Saturday 15th March
Cray Wanderers continue their challenge for the playoffs on Saturday as Neil Smith’s side head to a Carshalton Athletic side with similar aspirations as 8th host 10th in the Isthmian Premier
Cray will be looking to maintain the momentum of last Saturday’s winning start to March with a 3-1 home win vs Canvey Island which leaves Cray in 10th Place on 51 points after Wingate & Finchley moved up into 9th in midweek
The win against Canvey was well deserved and earned with two first half goals scored by Frankie Raymond from the penalty spot ten minutes before half time and then Soul Kader who continued his remarkable scoring start to life back with Cray on loan from Bromley making it six goals in five matches three minutes later
Canvey threatened a comeback early in the second half and pulled a goal back but Cray regrouped and Lateef Adaja’s classy strike nineteen minutes from time sealed the win and made it 13 unbeaten at home
With safety practically guaranteed over the 50 points mark there is little pressure on Cray in regards to the drop but it was a low key 1-1 draw with Carshalton at Flamingo Park on 30th November which began the Wands revival from the bottom four to above midtable in four months
Abdul Sankoh gave the Robins a 38th minute lead but Nathan Jeche who has since signed on dual reg with Whitstable Town notched a leveller two minutes later against a Carshalton side that finished with ten men
Saturday sees what is always a quality game of football on the 3G at Colston Avenue and Carshalton as is usual are in and around the playoffs and six straight league wins in January and February have given them a punchers chance of the top 5
They have 55 points from 34 games five behind 5th placed Dover and have a respectable +11 goal difference
Peter Adeniyi’s side who by most observers and judges say play the best football in the division were 1-0 winners at Cheshunt with Luke Read’s 14th minute winner proving decisive
Carshalton have beaten Wingate & Finchley (3-2)
Hastings United (2-1) & Canvey Island (2-1)
Cheshunt (1-1) Whitehawk (2-2) and Bognor Regis Town (4-4) with the only defeats coming against Dartford (0-1)
Chichester City (1-2) and Cray Valley PM (1-2)
Away from home the Robins won at Chichester City (3-1)
Hastings United & Cray Wanderers and were beaten by Canvey Island
Leading scorer is David Smith who Wands fans may recall began the season with Cray with 13 goals
The Wands have a decent recent record at Carshalton having won two and drawn one of the last three visits to Colston Avenue including a 2-1 win in January 2024 where Ellis Brown scored twice
This should be a cracking game between two sides in confident mood and also perhaps under the radar a little in terms of possible promotion contenders

Dover Athletic showed resilience and determination as they snatched a last-minute equaliser to draw 1-1 against Carshalton Athletic in the Isthmian League Premier Division
Despite going behind early in the second half
Luke Baptiste’s 92nd-minute overhead kick ensured the visitors left South London with a hard-earned point
forcing the Robins to deal with a couple of early crosses into their box
an early break in play at the 5-minute mark occurred when Alfie Matthews went down and required treatment
This momentarily slowed the pace of the game
allowing Carshalton to gradually settle in
The first significant chance came in the 13th minute for Dover when George Nikaj’s free header from a Sesay cross at the back post sailed just over the bar
It was a golden opportunity that hinted at Dover’s attacking threat
with Walker in the Dover goal standing firm to deny multiple attempts
One notable save came in the 24th minute as Vose struck through a crowd of players
but Walker reacted well to gather the shot
Matthews had Dover’s best opportunity
curling a well-struck free-kick toward the top corner
only for Carshalton’s Mackenzie Foley to produce a brilliant diving save to keep the scores level at halftime
Carshalton came out stronger in the second
Tommy Bradford controlled a cross from Read inside the box and fired a half-volley off the crossbar and in
A looping header from Eniye Amgbaduba in the 68th minute reminded the hosts that the visitors were still dangerous
a sharp shot from Charles-Cook on the edge of the box was superbly saved again by Foley
It looked as though Carshalton would hold on for all three points until the dying moments of stoppage time
Dover’s persistence paid off as a long throw-in caused chaos in the box
allowing Luke Baptiste to execute a spectacular overhead kick to level the match at 1-1
breaking Carshalton hearts in the 92nd minute

On a day in which they briefly flirted with top spot
Horsham celebrated securing a play-off place for a second successive year
after claiming a comfortable three points against Carshalton Athletic
Marking Dom Di Paola’s 10th anniversary in charge
Lucas Rodrigues’ early opener got his side off to a dream start
before Ola Ogunwamide doubled their lead with a sublime strike
And Reece Myles-Meekums’ scrambled effort just past the hour sealed a 25th win of the season which
following Dartford and Billericay Town’s triumphs also
leaves the top three separated by just two points with three games to go
Di Paola made only one change from last week’s victory over Canvey Island
as Charlie Hester-Cook returned to the starting XI for the first time since February 22nd against Cray Valley PM
made two; the suspended Michael Dada making way for Mason Saunders-Henry
and Kyron Horsley-McKay dropping to the bench for Dylan Pepe
the Robins appeared to be Horsham’s sternest test of their four remaining league fixtures
but it didn’t take long for the away side to confound those expectations
A pumped forward goal-kick was immaculately brought down by Rodrigues
who quickly exchanged a one-two with Ogunwamide
Slipped in by an equally exquisite reverse pass from the Horsham winger
Rodrigues slotted under the onrushing Aaron Watkins
sending the hundreds of travelling fans capped with their finest yellow and green (and in some cases
Isaac Philpot and Jack Strange patrolled their backline with calm
and James Hammond and Danny Barker were their trademark solid selves in midfield
And they were well worth their two-goal lead when it came in the 21st minute
An awkward backwards header was pounced upon by Ogunwamide who carved forward and
up against a Paris Hamilton-Downes who clearly hadn’t done his homework
cut inside to curl a wonderful strike into the far corner
stifling and subduing their opponents at every opportunity
and it wasn’t until the 40th minute that the next chance came
Dispossessing Sharon Ifeanyi deep inside the Horsham half
Ogunwamide lurched into the vacated space down the wing
taking on Hamilton-Downes who had evidently done some revision since their last encounter
closing the angle so Ogunwamide was caught in two minds whether to cross or shoot
with Rodrigues and Hester-Cook arriving in the box
but a tame delivery let him down and the chance was squandered
Joshua Shonibare escaped from Harvey Sparks on the right before lofting a cross over everyone
then Ifeanyi pulled away from Ogunwamide on the opposite flank to pitch a much better delivery into the box
his planted header was hooked clear off the line by Lewis Carey’s quick reflexes
this time averting Lee Harding to the byline only for Strange to block his pull-back out for a corner which came to nothing
Dylan Pepe’s clipped balls forward for the hosts failed to find a target in the first half
so the centre-back opted to take an alternate approach early in the second
picking off Ogunwamide before bursting nearly the full length of the pitch and dinking a pass over to a hitherto anonymous Tommy Bradford
but that too had the same outcome; the ball trickling out of play
Fabio Camacho-Saraiva forced Carey into his first save of the match when his fierce effort was well-matched by the outstretched keeper
while Watkins down the other end did just as well denying Harding’s instinctive strike at the back-post following Sparks’ deep corner
Ogunwamide’s enticing cross picked out Meekums whose header squirmed over the line
Meekums had already peeled away to take the plaudits
came closest to reducing the arrears when latching on to Smith’s threaded pass inside the box
super defending from Harding and Philpot saw them sandwich the substitute
A surprising eight minutes of stoppage time began with Camacho-Saraiva’s venomous free-kick being pushed away by Carey before Daniel Ajakaiye launched a counter-attack
taking on lone defender Horsley-McKay and sliding it through to Hammond
who by this point had come on for an injured Watkins in a rare instance of naming a goalkeeper on the bench proving worthwhile
Hammond placed his strike straight at the substitute keeper

The Isthmian Premier title race couldn’t be much tighter with the top three level on points
Yet the Darts have a far inferior goal difference meaning they will need league leaders Billericay Town and second place Horsham to slip up to stand a chance of becoming champions
Realistically the permutations are simple for Adrian Pennock’s side
A Dartford win will see them return to the National South
if Billericay Town and Horsham fail to get maximum points
If the Darts draw they will need the top two to lose
With Billericay Town eight goals ahead of the Darts and Horsham seven
history isn’t on Dartford’s side when the title comes down to goal difference
On three previous occasions the Darts have narrowly lost out having been level on points
The most recent of times came in the 2017/2018 National South season
The club suffered the same fate in 1996 (Kent League) and 1988 (Southern Premier)
Billericay Town (1st) v Cheshunt (15th)Dartford (3rd) v Carshalton Athletic (7th)Horsham (2nd) v Hashtag United (8th)
Dartford had the title in their own hands but the two point advantage was erased once they drew 2-2 at Cray Wanderers
In the space of ninety minutes the Darts went from top to third
Pennock made one change to the side that beat Dover Athletic on Good Friday
Samir Carruthers was named on the bench after struggling with injury recently and in came Louis Dunne
In an entertaining Kent derby it took until half hour for Dartford to lead in their first ever visit to Flamingo Park
Sam Odaudu’s long throw found its way to Callum Jones
For eight minutes the Darts had one hand on the league trophy as the two other title challengers had yet to find a breakthrough
When Frankie Raymond converted a penalty for the hosts then it was back to square one and a final day decider
Cray Wanderers went in front through Lateef Adaja
but Dartford bounced back quickly when Denzelle Olopade scored his second goal over the Easter period
Michael Olarewaju was sent off with ten minutes remaining
in the final moments of the game Eddie Dsane hit the crossbar and Jones had his effort cleared off the line
Dartford have now rescued 19 points from losing positions this season
whether those points are crucial come the final whistle on Saturday remains to be seen
The Darts now know they will have to at least keep their unbeaten home run going to be in with a chance of winning the division
Dartford’s last league defeat came 15 games ago back in October
since then they have won ten and drawn four in the Isthmian Premier on their own patch
If Pennock’s side add another victory on Saturday it will complete a double over Carshalton Athletic
Dsane opened his account in the first half to score his first goal for the club
Good work from Olopade set up the striker to give Dartford a lead inside the first twenty minutes
The Darts held off Carshalton Athletic late on with spirited defending and a good goalkeeping performance by the on loan Matt Kerbey
Dartford have only ever lost once to the Robins and are currently unbeaten in four against the Surrey side
but the Darts have failed to beat them at home in the three previous meetings
The F.A Trophy first round replay ended 1-1 in 1991 and needed a second replay
Carshalton Athletic were 3-2 winners in 2008
Jamie Day and John Guest scoring for the Darts
The following season the two teams drew 1-1 again
Richard Jolly put the Robins in front and Jamie Coyle equalised
Since the loss to the Surrey side at Princes Park
the Darts have recorded three away victories against Saturday’s opponents scoring a total of seven without reply

After an impressive 5-1 win against Dulwich Hamlet on Easter Monday
Carshalton Athletic will finish either seventh or eighth
A point on the weekend will keep them ahead of Hashtag United
but defeat on the final day and a win for the Tags will see the two teams swap places
The Darts will be hoping Hashtag United do them a favour when they visit Horsham
There have plenty of goals during March and April when the Robins have been involved
On Monday they were three up by half time courtesy of Fabio Camacho-Saraiva and a David Smith brace
Dylan Pepe and Mason Saunders-Henry added two more before Dulwich Hamlet’s last minute consolation
Featuring in the Robins win was former Dart
Kalvin Kalala who made 26 appearances for Dartford and scored five goals during the 2021/2022 campaign
The games over Easter came too soon for the injured former loanee
The midfielder was on loan for a month at Dartford in September 2022 and only managed two substitute appearances
His loan spell was cut short after picking up a red card and suspension before being recalled by AFC Wimbledon
Peter Adeniyi’s side made it a perfect Easter by beating Lewes 3-1 thanks to two injury time goals
The second half comeback was completed when Nabeel Ghannam equalised
Sharon Ifeany put the visitors ahead and Tommy Bradford made sure of maximum points
Consecutive victories was just the tonic for the pair of 3-0 defeats
first at Chatham Town then on their own patch versus Horsham
the Robins thrashed Bowers and Pitsea 6-1 and at the beginning of last month they drew 4-4 with Bognor Regis Town
Carshalton Athletic came from three down to lead before conceding a last minute equaliser against the Rocks
The Robins are guaranteed their highest finish since coming runners up in 2019 and next season will be their eighth consecutive year in the Isthmian Premier
