Wycombe boss Mike Dods says his side will use their two defeats to Charlton Athletic as fuel in their semi-final League One play-off clashes
The Addicks will head to Adams Park on Sunday and then host Wycombe the following Thursday
Nathan Jones’ side beat Wycombe 4-0 away from home on April 21
Charlton also won 2-1 at home when Matt Bloomfield was in charge in December
“There will be a narrative as they have beaten us twice – I appreciate that,” said Dodds
“We will use that as fuel to say: ‘These next two games are really important.’
“They will be what a Nathan Jones side is – fired up for it and 100 miles an hour
“They will be in our face and we know what is coming
if that’s what it is for those two fixtures
we have three games here to to get us out of this league
“We will do everything we can to do that.”

Mason Bennett converting from the penalty spot after Fabio Tavares was brought down by goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer
Charlton's top scorer finishing from the right of the penalty box with Burton keeper Max Crocombe making a bad call to stray from his line to try to reach Tennai Watson's through ball
Godden doubled his tally in the 34th minute
producing a sharp turn from Josh Edwards' pass to beat Crocombe
who managed to get a hand to his low left-footed shot but could not keep it out
whose poor backpass had led to the early penalty
made amends when he headed in Conor Coventry's in-swinging corner in the 51st minute to put Charlton 3-1 ahead
It could have been four but Addicks debutant Ibrahim Fullah hit the right post from Karoy Anderson's cutback

Nathan Jones has admitted that he wanted Charlton Athletic to have their home match as the second leg in the League One play-offs
The Addicks’ 3-1 victory over Burton Albion on Saturday lifted them to a finishing position of fourth
They now face Wycombe Wanderers in the semi-finals of the end-of-season knockouts after they lost by the same scoreline to Stockport County
Charlton will head to Adams Park on May 11 – for a 6.30pm kick off – before the second leg at The Valley on May 15
The South Londoners are unbeaten in their last 15 matches on home turf – winning 12 of them
Charlton did the double over Wycombe in the league this season
Asked about the fact he would have wanted to have the decisive leg in front of their own fans
Jones told the South London Press: “I’ve had both
I’ve won play-offs where we have lost the first leg at home and won the second leg away
I’ve also been involved where we’ve had the second game at home
ended up drawing the game in injury time and ended up losing
“I’m not sure (if having the home leg second is better) – ask me on May 15 and I’ll tell you exactly
but let’s see if that does give us the advantage.”
Nathan Jones says he would be stupid if he talked about any club being a favourite in the League One play-offs
The Welshman’s Charlton Athletic side are in the knockout phase of the campaign and will face Wycombe Wanderers over two legs
The Addicks have defeated them twice in the league including a 4-0 victory away in the third to last fixture with the Buckinghamshire club then going on to lose their final two matches
Charlton’s 3-1 win today over Burton Albion – coupled with Wycombe going down by the same scoreline against Stockport – moved them up to fourth
Stockport will play Leyton Orient in the other play-off tie
Jones told the South London Press: “I’d be an idiot if I did
“Stockport have finished third so it shows over a 46-game season that they have been the third best team
“The table doesn’t lie – it shows the most consistent teams
The two who have gone up automatically – congratulations to them
Then the next four teams there is very little in that
They have justifiably got in the play-offs
“I wouldn’t say there is a favourite in any way
shape or form because a lot can happen.”
Charlton were without key first-teamers for the Burton Albion match with Lloyd Jones
Centre-back Jones was at The Valley to pick up his Player of the Season award on the pitch
His namesake boss was predictably tight-lipped over the trio
when asked if they were set to be fit for next weekend
“What I said in midweek is that I have to prepare a squad to go into the play-offs and that’s what we’ve done today,” responded Jones
The Welshman was asked for his thoughts on the 46-game season
Their automatic promotion hopes were only ended last weekend after a 3-0 loss at Wrexham
“First and foremost we’re not high-fiving and thinking we’ve achieved anything
“We said year in and year out we have to improve
barring something miraculous we couldn’t have gone up last season
We had to arrest the negative momentum that the club had
There was a bit of optimism and we had a good summer
I’ve had one window at the helm and the players we have brought in have had a really positive impact on the football club – especially the team and results
“We’ve had some highs and lows
We have had some tough points which less experienced managers might have gone under and less experienced focused boards and ownership groups might have got trigger finger
The fact we all have a goal and looking to move forward has brought us to fourth place in the league when we were 16th.”

Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side had an equal grip on the game
until a quickfire double from Charlton's Bethan Roe and Katie Bradley broke the deadlock in the second half and sealed the result
Welsh international Rachel Rowe was brought back into the starting line-up after a two-game absence with injury
whilst long-term absentee Rianna Dean made her return to the field as a second half substitute
youngster Natasha Udebhulu was handed her first senior appearance off the bench

Saints started on the front foot to the echoing sounds of a boisterous St
Mary’s on the final day; an early Aimee Palmer corner was sent into the box
but captain Jemma Purfield’s header was wide at the back post
Gidria Siber looked to be through on goal at the other end
but Tara Bourne got down quickly to block her shot
After an extensive period of end-to-end play
Charlton's Jodie Hutton hit an effort from the left corner of the box which rebounded off the crossbar
A quiet first half in terms of chances ended with a whipped Purfield free-kick that found Bourne’s head
but the ball deflected backwards in the final meaningful action before the break
The second half started with more fire as Rowe picked up the ball a handful of times with driving forward runs
and caused a nuisance in the midfield - Palmer then shot with a powerful first-time strike
Another burst of forwards play from Rowe and Georgia Mullett was then agonisingly quashed by the visitors
before the deadlock was eventually broken on the hour mark
Charlton found the back of the net first through Roe's impressive strike
as the defender curled the ball into the far side of the goal after she's burst forward to support the attack on the right
and cut into the penalty area with tidy footwork
One quickly became two in the space of two minutes to effectively kill the contest off
as the Addicks doubled their lead when Bradley’s low
powerful shot found its way past Fran Stenson from the edge of the box
Saints substitute Araya Dennis brought energy to the field after her introduction with an early strike that just went over in search of a response
Mullett found herself in space on the right and fizzed a ball across the face of goal
but Kendall’s sliding reach was fractionally too late
Milly Mott was next to deliver a ball into the box from the same side
as Kendall again came narrowly short of making contact
Dennis rose highest at the back post but her header rebounded into the stands off the crossbar
it's Charlton who will travel home with the three points to end the 2024/25 campaign

Saints made their long-awaited return to winning ways last week with a 3-2 victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane

They were held to a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United in their most recent outing
and ran out 4-3 winners against Sunderland in their last game away from home
Saints ground out an impressive away win against Charlton earlier this season
with a resolute away performance and 1-0 victory at The Valley
A solitary goal from Tara Bourne earned the three points on the road
along with some vital saves from Fran Stenson to earn the win against the Addicks

Sam Smith signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Wrexham in January
Wrexham thumped Charlton Athletic 3-0 to seal a historic third successive promotion and secure a return to the second tier for the first time in 43 years
Following Wycombe Wanderers' 1-0 loss to Leyton Orient earlier in the day
Phil Parkinson's side knew they would clinch the runner-up spot in League One with victory over the Addicks
The hosts scored twice in quick succession in the first half
with Ollie Rathbone's sweet strike putting Wrexham ahead at the Stok Cae Ras
Sam Smith then netted his sixth goal for the club since joining from Reading in January only three minutes later
Striker Smith completed his double late on as Wrexham kept a 23rd league clean sheet of the season to take second place in style - and with a game to spare - in front of Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney
Defeat ended Charlton's hopes of automatic promotion
with Nathan Jones' side - who are fifth - now turning their attention to the play-offs
Wrexham's remarkable rise - and what comes next
Wrexham owners 'deserve' success - Parkinson
Reynolds takes selfies with fans before crunch game
Rob McElhenney (left) and Ryan Reynolds' takeover of Wrexham was finalised in February 2021
Parkinson went with the same starting XI and substitutes from Monday's crucial 2-1 triumph over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road
His opposite number Jones, who labelled Wrexham a "circus" in the build-up to the fixture
made two changes from his team's 4-0 demolition of Wycombe as Tennai Watson and Karoy Anderson replaced Thierry Small and Luke Berry
Wycombe's slip-up played a key role in ensuring the home faithful lifted the noise levels well before kick-off in north Wales
But following a run of 15 wins from their past 20 league games
Charlton's supporters were in fine fettle themselves as their side also went into the game still in the mix to finish second behind champions Birmingham City
And the opening stages typified a contest between two evenly-matched teams with a huge amount at stake - with no noteworthy goalmouth action for either side
That was until a pivotal three-minute period in which Wrexham took a firm stronghold in the contest
Charlton survived a major scare on 15 minutes as - having hoped for an offside flag to come to their rescue - Macaulay Gillesphey put in a last-ditch challenge to prevent Smith from getting a shot on goal
But Wrexham scored from the resulting corner as the ball was fed to Rathbone whose low drilled effort flew beyond Will Mannion from just outside the 18-yard box
It was the 28-year-old's second goal in as many matches and eighth of the campaign on what was his 350th career appearance
And the home side were in dreamland moments later as Matty James' floated ball over the top of the Charlton defence fell to Smith who stretched to volley into the net
and subsequent chants of 'Doo doo doo
football in a circus' to the tune of Black Lace's Do The Conga from the Wrexham faithful in response to Jones' pre-match comments
but as Wrexham grew more content to sit deeper and stay compact having established a two-goal cushion
the visitors enjoyed more possession and territory
Matty Godden's goal-bound flick was well blocked by Dan Scarr before Arthur Okonkwo superbly denied Watson with his legs from a one-on-one position just after the half-hour mark
Tyreece Campbell then had a shot blocked as Wrexham's defensive effort typified why they have kept more clean sheets than any other side in the third tier this season
Charlton needed at least three second-half goals to keep their top-two hopes alive
a task that appeared all the more daunting given Wrexham had lost just twice in 22 home league matches this season
As was the case from the beginning of the first 45 minutes
neither side created any openings in the early stages of the second half
Jones sent on Micah Mbick and Daniel Kanu in place of Lloyd Jones and Karoy Anderson as his side looked for a route back in the contest
Parkinson responded by replacing Jay Rodriguez with Steven Fletcher as Wrexham looked to see out the final 20 minutes
Charlton continued to push in the final stages without overly troubling Okonkwo
And Wrexham put the icing on the promotion cake as Smith headed Max Cleworth's cross into the net in the 81st minute to seal a 16th and final home league victory of the campaign and a return to the second tier for the first time since the 1981-82 season
Charlton sign off the regular season at home against Burton Albion as they prepare for the play-offs
Wrexham - who were in non-league in 2022-23 - travel to Lincoln City on the same day as they bid to round off yet another memorable campaign in style
The key for me today is how we've done it
"The performance today was really controlled and
high quality and I'm so pleased with that because getting over the line in football is hard
"Having the control and mentality to produce a performance of that standard in such a pressure game is an enormous credit to everybody."
"They did the basics far better than us
"We came up against a good side today that were at the top of their game
It's been a difficult one to take today
"But we've been on a fantastic run and we've managed to secure the play-offs which we did a few weeks ago."

Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones has talked with excitement about the club’s young players after handing Ibrahim Fullah his debut in today’s 3-1 win over Burton Albion
The Addicks announced last month that the 18-year-old had signed a new long-term contract
Fullah came on in the second half at The Valley and hit the right post with an effort from Karoy Anderson’s cutback
Jones had a number of first-teamers not involved in the League One match – Lloyd Jones
Luke Berry and Thierry Small – and talked post-match about finishing with six products of the academy on the pitch
“What I love about this football club and the academy is that there is a hunger and an athleticism,” said the Welsh boss
When you can bring on the likes of what we do – with the athleticism and ability
who has been out most of the season…Karoy and DK (Daniel Kanu)
“You bring on one like that who really want to do well and then bring off TC then you think ‘wow
That is why I love it and wanted to come here – because I believed it has a wonderful feel about it
