Housing association Places for People has bought the Fleetwood Road North site
where an outline consent for 130 homes will be taken forward
a joint venture between brownfield land specialist BXB and developer Promenade Estates
has agreed the sale of the housing site for an undisclosed sum
Completion of the deal is subject to reserved matters consent being granted
The homes will be made available through affordable rent and shared ownership
Outline permission was granted by Wyre Council in July 2023, at the third time of asking
An initial version of the scheme was deferred in November 2022
before finding favour with committee after being reworked as a fully affordable development
but we’re pleased that this under-utilised site can now provide much-needed homes for local people.”
said: “A developer that delivers new affordable rental properties always appealed to us because they provide a socially valuable route for families seeking high quality homes.”
The scheme will deliver a new link road into the Hillhouse enterprise zone
with added emphasis on green infrastructure and biodiversity enhancement
The 12-acre site was acquired in February 2021
Sainsbury’s had secured a consent to develop a 50,000 sq ft store at the site
