POLICE investigating reports of an attempted abduction of a 14-year-old schoolgirl at Culcheth
have today confirmed the report was unfounded
Following an investigation into a report of an attempted abduction in Shaw Street
Warrington on Wednesday 26 March it has been established that the report was unfounded
DI Dave Schofield said: “While the report was made to police with good intent
we checked CCTV in the area and made extensive enquiries which confirmed no criminal offences had taken place
We are engaged with the local schools and confident there is no reason to be concerned following the initial report.”
On Wednesday it had been reported a 14-year-old girl was walking to Culcheth High School when a man attempted to pull her into a van
PLANNING permission has been granted to deliver 194 new homes and associated infrastructure on land at Warrington Road/Holcroft Lane in Culcheth
It marks an exciting milestone for housebuilder Story Homes’ first development in the Warrington area
Warrington Borough Council resolved to grant planning consent for the scheme at its Planning Committee meeting last night (March 20) subject to completion of a Section 106 Agreement*
* A Section 106 Agreement is a legal agreement between an applicant seeking planning permission and the local planning authority
which is used to mitigate the impact of any new homes on the local community and infrastructure
Yet again another 106 Agreement WBC enters into with a developer seems to offer little towards lessening the impact of the development on our already unfit for purpose borough infrastructure
which states there will be “Improvements to bus stops and footpaths” fails to address the obvious impact of a development comprising 194 mixed size and occupation houses will have on an already heavily trafficked area
near two schools with three narrow roads converging on a roundabout
Looks like the overall plan is to turn Warrington and Newton le willows along with Lowton and Croft into a city that is grid locked with traffic
St Helens and Warrington council are failing and being bribed by developers
Along with all these additional housing there is a planning application to build the largest rail freight depo in the UK between Culcheth and Newton le willows
Short sighted planning with a few back handers
Is this the missing piece of the Liverpool or Manchester Metropolitan District
We’re contributing nearly 2,000 homes that include Peel Hall
The old Chester University off Crab Lane to the project
Soon there won’t be a blade of grass left on Warrington North that isn’t a joy to the many happy go lucky developers
194 houses and a couple holiday homes somewhere sunny I’m guessing

Great words Gary.in this month’s Editors Comments…
THE Tories pulled off a double victory in the Culcheth and Glazebury and Croft by-elections
which victorious candidate Sue Mitchell described as “strong backing for the Conservatives against the Labour administration and Labour government who are failing residents.”
All the other wards soon with a bit of luck
Struggling to find the turn out figures but I am told it was “low”
