The collision happened on Barry Road in Dinas Powys (file picture)(Image: Google)A 20-year-old man has died at the scene of a single-vehicle collision in a town, which saw the car tip onto its roof. Police are investigating the incident on the A4055 between Dinas Powys and Barry
which also saw two young women taken to hospital "as a precaution"
The crash happened at around 3.50am on Sunday, July 14. At 4am South Wales Police posted a statement on social media announcing the road was closed in both directions
between the McDonalds roundabout and Cross Common Road
The latest statement from South Wales police said: "We are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which happened on Barry Road
Dinas Powys in the early hours of Sunday July 14
was involved in the incident which was happened at around 3.50am

This is the same route as Barry Road in Dinas Powys - one is an extension of the other
They have since confirmed the exact location of the incident was on the A4055
Barry Road between Barry and Dinas Powys - heading towards Dinas Powys
The police advised motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible
They are also appealing for "any witnesses to the collision
anyone with any dash-cam footage or anyone who saw the manner in which the car was being driven prior to the collision to contact them quoting reference 2400233554," their latest statement reads

Police have named the 20 year old who died after a road traffic collision in Dinas Powys as Connor Ockerby from Barry
He died at the scene following the collision which happened at around 3.50am on Sunday morning on Barry Road

His family has issued the following tribute:
“Our lovely boy Connor tragically passed away in a car accident on Sunday morning
He was loved by all of our extended family
“We are absolutely devastated to lose our beautiful boy
and his death will leave a huge void in all of our lives and those of his many friends
and would ask people not to speculate about the accident while the investigation is going on.”
South Wales Police is continuing to investigate the collision which involved a grey Ford Fiesta
Officers want to hear from any witnesses to the collision
anyone with any dash-cam footage or anyone who saw the manner in which the car was being driven prior to the collision
