points who joined permanently on a three-year deal in June 2023 following a successful loan spell pinpointed inconsistency as the key issue that plagued the team throughout the season:- “I think the main word is probably inconsistency We’ve not won back-to-back games in the league all season I think that shows in the performances – we’re up with Dunfermline managing just nine league victories and scoring only 28 goals across the Championship campaign – the lowest tally in the SPFL More concerning was the team’s failure to find the net in 27 of their 47 competitive matches this season it’s the story of our season,” Ewan admitted when discussing the team’s struggles in front of goal The season concluded on Friday night with a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Morton where the Pars found themselves two goals down within the opening minutes – a scenario that Ewan acknowledged made recovery difficult:- when in your first 10 minutes you’re down 2-0 To get decisions where you feel you’re hard done by I think we found ourselves a little bit later on in the game and improved our performance a bit particularly under the guidance of Neil Lennon who took over managerial duties in the final six weeks of the campaign “I’m hoping he stays on,” Ewan said of Lennon “I think everyone can see the impact he’s had on the club he’s here to take us forward and build on what he’s done so far in the last six
