A new Roald Dahl-themed mural was unveiled at Great Missenden Station this morning (Friday 28 March) The impressive large-scale artwork is the result of a collaboration between The Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden sixth form students from The Misbourne school in the village and mural artist Sólveig Magnúsdóttir The unveiling event on 28 March is the culmination of many months of hard work form the project team The students were involved in every element of the process from helping to interview and select the project artist through to creative workshops and making key decisions about the mural’s content and composition During the project the students learned about Roald Dahl’s creative process and discovered how the local area inspired many of his stories and characters before developing their own visual ideas relating to Great Missenden - combining elements of the surrounding area Roald Dahl’s stories and items that have meaning to them said: “It’s been a pleasure to work with students from The Misbourne and Sólveig We’re so proud of the final mural which is testament to all the hard work that’s been put into developing the project It was fantastic to see the students
