Guisborough has officially received a bootscootin’ makeover with the opening of HonkyTonk’s Guisborough, bringing its signature Nashville-inspired country party to the heart of the town.
Building on the success of HonkyTonk’s Middlesbrough, the new Guisborough venue is already welcoming crowds, offering a lively lineup of live music, line dancing, themed events and an electric atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the region.
“We’ve been blown away by the response to HonkyTonk’s so far, and Guisborough was the perfect next step,” said area manager Kel Allan.
“The demand for something different was clear – locals wanted somewhere safe that brings big nights out, fantastic live music and that authentic country-party vibe.”
HonkyTonk’s Guisborough, located in the former Harry’s Bar at 19 Market Place is dedicated to creating unforgettable nights, hosting regular events including Country Crowd Karaoke, Saddle Up Saturdays and foot-stomping live music featuring both local talent and popular touring country acts.
Whether you’re a country music enthusiast or just enjoy a great night out, HonkyTonk’s promises something special.
“We’re not just opening another bar – we’re building a community of country music lovers and partygoers,” added co-owner Michael Kitson.
“If you’ve ever wanted to experience a real honky tonk atmosphere, we’re here and ready to welcome you.”
All previous Harry’s Bar staff have joined the HonkyTonk team along with venue manager Hannah Bastable, who has been with the venue for several years.

The government says it is investing £21m a year to run veterans’ mental health services
A spokesperson from the Ministry of Defence told ITV News: "The death of any person in the Armed Forces community is a tragedy

For those personnel requiring medical treatment

Employers hiring illegal workers defrauds the public purse and puts potentially vulnerable people at risk of exploitation
Edris Ali failed in his statutory duties by employing these six people who did not have the right to work in the UK
We will continue to work closely with the Home Office to tackle rogue employers who breach the standards we expect of company directors
Ali was appointed director of the restaurant
He also became a director of Bubbles Car Valeting in December of that year
Immigration Enforcement visited the restaurant on Northgate in Hartlepool in January 2020
finding two Iranian men in their 30s with no right to work in the UK
One of the workers said he had been at the restaurant for one week while the other told officers he had been working there for two or three months
Officials then visited Bubbles Car Valeting on Walton Terrace in Guisborough in October 2022
and said they had been working at the hand car wash for between one week to one month
Immigration Enforcement fined Hama Tasty £20,000 and Bubbles Car Valeting £60,000 for the immigration breaches

This longstanding investigation into illegal working on Teesside and the resulting penalties is a great example of collaborative working between government agencies to combat breaches in employment legislation
Employers have a responsibility to carry out thorough checks on individuals prior to employment to ensure they have the right to work in the UK
A failure to do so may lead to further action being taken by the regulator
I would like to thank our partners at the Insolvency Service for their help to secure a sanction against this non-compliant employer
