Orient won all of their last five League One matches to put them in firm contention of finishing in the promotion play-off spots. Dan Agyei got them off to a brilliant start by scoring with two minutes on the clock aheads of an own-goal from Jacob Chapman. but Agyei netted again at the start of the second half Azeem Abdulai scored their fourth and final goal of the afternoon to keep their promotion dreams alive Orient have finished sixth in League One and will face third-placed Stockport County in the play-offs They were playing in the National League as recently as 2019 but have since risen from League Two and into the third tier This season's League One play-offs will also see Wycombe Wanderers take on Charlton Athletic Birmingham City won the title last month before making EFL history by winning the most points of any team in a single season with 108. Their 2-1 draw at Cambridge United on Saturday has therefore taken them to 111, 19 points ahead of second-place Wrexham. The hosts gifted Orient the lead within two minutes as Josh Koroma's mis-hit pass played in Jamie Donley to run unchallenged into the box where a square ball gave Dan Agyei a simple finish Agyei went close to doubling the advantage five minutes later but hit the crossbar with Jacob Chapman well beaten The Huddersfield goalkeeper then made a mess of a deflected cross from Agyei flapping the ball into his own net for 2-0 Koroma pulled one back just before half-time with a looping header into the top corner and Orient then had assistant manager Paul Terry sent off moments later for preventing a quick throw-in Agyei made sure of the result shortly after the break once again applying the finishing touch to a swift and clinical counter-attack substitute Azeem Abdulai converting a close-range header to finish off Ethan Galbraith's cross on the break following a Huddersfield corner Worthington: 'Sums up the season from January' To load Comments you need to enable JavaScript in your browser The BBC is not responsible for any changes that may be made O'Neill at 75 minutesSubstitutesNumber 15 Phillips Match OfficialsReferee: Dean WhitestoneAssistant Referee 1: Paul HodskinsonAssistant Referee 2: Hugh GilroyFourth Official: Jamie O'ConnorMatch StatsKey Scroll LeftScroll RightHuddersfield Town are unbeaten across their last eight league games against Leyton Orient (W5 D3) scoring 2+ goals in the last seven of those matches Leyton Orient have won just two of their 30 away league games against Huddersfield Town (D12 L16) though those two victories have come across their last five visits Huddersfield have won each of their last two final games of a league campaign at home beating Bristol City in 2022 and Reading in 2023 both via 2-0 scorelines On the four occasions this century Leyton Orient have finished a Football League campaign with a match against a side from Yorkshire Tom Iorpenda (Huddersfield Town) right footed shot from the centre of the box is high and wide to the right following a corner Matthew Pearson (Huddersfield Town) header from the centre of the box is blocked Oliver Turton (Huddersfield Town) header from the centre of the box is blocked Rarmani Edmonds-Green (Leyton Orient) is shown the yellow card for a bad foul Josh Koroma (Huddersfield Town) wins a free kick on the left wing Foul by Rarmani Edmonds-Green (Leyton Orient) Fourth official has announced 4 minutes of added time Ben Wiles (Huddersfield Town) right footed shot from outside the box is saved in the bottom left corner Ben Wiles (Huddersfield Town) wins a free kick in the defensive half Lasse Sørensen (Huddersfield Town) wins a free kick in the defensive half Foul by Diallang Jaiyesimi (Leyton Orient) Jamie Donley (Leyton Orient) left footed shot from more than 35 yards is saved in the top centre of the goal Neo Eccleston (Huddersfield Town) header from the centre of the box is saved in the top centre of the goal Check out how to watch Huddersfield v Leyton Orient in the League One Leyton Orient are the form team heading into the League One play-offs – but they still need to secure their place in the top six when they face Huddersfield Orient are in a straight shootout with Reading for the final play-off spot would essentially book their place in the post-season games barring a massive goal swing in favour of Reading RadioTimes.com has rounded up everything you need to know about how to watch Huddersfield v Leyton Orient on TV and online Huddersfield v Leyton Orient will take place on Saturday 3rd May 2025 Check out our live football on TV guide for the latest times and information Huddersfield v Leyton Orient will kick off at 3pm You can watch the game live on Sky Sports Football Sky Sports + will feature more than 1,000 EFL games throughout the season and is included as part of Sky Sports packages Sky Sports customers can live stream the game via the Sky Go app on a variety of devices including most smartphones and tablets as part of their subscription NOW can be streamed through a computer or apps found on most smart TVs In working partnership with the Radio Times, bet365 has provided the following betting odds for this event: bet365 odds: Huddersfield (29/10) Draw (14/5) Leyton Orient (4/5)* Bet £10 & Get £30 in Free Bets for new customers at bet365 Free Bets are paid as Bet Credits and are available for use upon settlement of bets to value of qualifying deposit *Odds subject to change. 18+. Got up and down the pitch well and won some useful challenges but couldn’t find a final ball. Played his last game for the club, at least as it stands. Played some lovely balls in the final third, including putting Koroma in to score just before half time. Naturally got a rapturous reception from all corners of the ground upon his arrival and then when he was subbed off midway through the second half. Relatively quiet game as Hogg and Evans took centre stage. Skied a presentable chance from the edge of the box in the second half. Had a slow start to the game at left wing-back and was too easily beaten on the way to Orient’s second goal, but started coming into it a bit more as half time approached and continued that after the break. Would like to see again whether he could have done more to get back on Orient’s many dangerous counter-attacks, and didn’t look great as he stood static while Ethan Galbraith crossed for Orient’s fourth. Had a good game in midfield, despite a lot of mediocrity and poor performances around him. Worked hard off the ball, got things moving forward and tried hard to help the attack by making runs into the box. Just didn’t have enough to play to ahead of him. Looked frustrated after being hit with a few reducers and niggly fouls in the early going. Never really in the game. Gave Leyton Orient an absolute gift early on as he cut out an attempt to counter-attack from a corner, only to bafflingly give the ball to Jamie Donley to race into the box and square for Dan Agyei to open the scoring. Gave the ball away again later in the first half in similar circumstances, but this time got back to win a tackle inside the box. Determined work to atone for his earlier errors, scoring for a fourth game in a row off Hogg’s ball, sparing him a lower mark. Ben Wiles (for Hogg 66) - Didn’t especially make a difference to the run of play. 4 Tom Iorpenda (for Evans 73) - Made his first senior appearance since just before Christmas after a long time out with a back issue. Got back well on Orient’s fourth goal but lost Azeem Abdulai’s run to the back post. n/a Dion Charles (for Taylor 73) - Sent on with the result already well beyond doubt. n/a Unused substitutes: Lee Nicholls, Josh Ruffels, Joe Hodge, Tawanda Chirewa. Got back well on Orient’s fourth goal but lost Azeem Abdulai’s run to the back post. n/a We want your ratings too! Head here to cast your votes. Backing Leyton Orient to take all three points and secure their position in the playoffs looks like excellent value at 1.8 There’s a world of difference between the sides in terms of form and with this game only really mattering to the visitors The Under 3.5 goals market also looks profitable at 1.4 Huddersfield’s matches have produced an average of no more than 2.40 goals Leyton Orient’s average of 2.56 isn’t far behind either The selection has been a winner in 80% of Leyton Orient’s league games and 76% of Huddersfield’s Leyton Orient’s record is in stark contrast to that of Huddersfield who have lost each of their most recent five rendering them one of the league's most out-of-form sides Huddersfield have been seemingly unable to find a balance between attack and defence with positioning being a recurrent issue across the field Leyton Orient seemed to be without a hope of reaching this point not long ago following five back-to-back losses during late February and early March a superb run of form has seen them pick up 22 points from a possible 27 which has notably included wins in each of their last five They boast the league’s fourth-best away record is marginally superior to their average at home Despite Leyton Orient being the bookies' favourites coming into this clash it’s Huddersfield that boasts the stronger head-to-head record generating four big chances compared to Leyton Orient’s zero This was the only time these sides have met in recent history given Huddersfield’s extended stay in the Championship/ Premier League although their respective performances this season would indicate times might be changing For a longer read see our EFL Final Day Permutations Guide as well as the rest of our EFL Betting Tips & Bet Builders * I recommend waiting for confirmed team line-ups before placing any bets. * All odds displayed correct at the time of publishing.
