The family of a teacher who died after a three-vehicle crash said she was a nationally respected figure whose death would be a loss to the "wider world of education" Dawn Cox had been head of RE at Manningtree High School in Essex until she began a new career as an educational consultant in September She died from injuries she sustained in a crash which happened just before 12.55pm on 30 March on the B1070 at Brantham in Suffolk She was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge and died last week Ms Cox's family released a tribute to the 47-year-old from Hintlesham in which they described her as a "much-loved daughter of Pamela and the late Mike Aunt to Alisha and Great Aunt to Nola" "She was a warm and much cherished lifelong friend to Victoria since they met at primary school where they shared a bungalow much enlivened by their six cats," they said “She was a popular and well-respected teacher Dawn more recently worked as the head of RE at Manningtree High School before embarking on a new life as a consultant last September "She was fuelled by a passionate conviction to improve the quality of the teaching of her subject and the outcomes for her pupils Her reputation was country-wide with her writing “Away from work she enjoyed just relaxing at home Dawn had recently bought a camper van to enjoy more adventures and was planning a trip in it through France this summer “She touched the lives of many pupils and colleagues and her death is a terrible loss to her family friends and the wider world of education.” which was in a collision with a a black BMW X3 and a black Ford Fiesta Officers are re-appealing for any witnesses to the collision Want a quick and expert briefing on the biggest news stories Listen to our latest podcasts to find out What You Need To Know
