Goals from Ronan Doherty and Jamie Glackin secured a second successive victory for the Bannsiders. The home side hit the front after just 11 minutes through Doherty's first goal for the club since his January switch from Cliftonville. Portadown did well initially to break up a sweeping Coleraine move but when the ball broke to the midfielder 20 yards from goal his deflected strike curled past Aaron McCarey. McCarey denied the hosts a second goal midway through the opening half with a top drawer save to deny Connor Murray while Kyle McClelland and Matthew Shevlin both headed wide from good positions. The visitors created precious little in the opening 45 minutes and Shay McCartan had their only real effort of note five minutes before the break when his free-kick went the wrong side of Rory Brown's post. The Bannsiders doubled their advantage just before the hour with a clever finish from Glackin. Played through by Shevlin, the playmaker still had plenty to do but he showed great awareness and technique to chip the ball over a helpless McCarey for his fifth league goal of the season. Shevlin should have done better from a McGonigle cross in the closing minutes but it mattered little as Coleraine eased to victory, only the second time they have recorded back-to-back successes this season. the Northern Ireland Schools' Football Association trophy for the second year running It was a thoroughly entertaining final at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park Portadown had to make a last-minute change to their starting line-up Kornelija Arbociute was injured in the warm-up and had to be replaced by Faith Ritchie with both defences making important interventions The first clearcut opportunity fell to Portadown’s Baird in the fifth minute The winger shot over the top from close range after she got on the end of a loose clearance On 11 minutes Parkhall midfielder Grace Murray had a long range effort which was on target but comfortably collected A minute later Baird showed some nifty footwork to skip past a couple of defenders but her shot-come-cross drifted across the six-yard box In the 16th minute a close range strike from Portadown College striker Sasha Thompson was superbly pushed over the top by Parkhall keeper Katelynn Kelly On 23 minutes the Antrim school’s keeper made another fine save Thompson produced a great burst down the right flank and crossed to Speers She fired in a good shot but Kelly was equal to it Makyla Stevenson conceded a free-kick for a robust challenge on Ella Kitson Murray put the resulting free-kick wide of the upright On 29 minutes Portadown opened the scoring with a peach of a goal after latching on to an excellent lobbed pass from captain Leah Roney and she ran forward to coolly slot the ball past Kelly from 16 yards After the interval Parkhall came flying out of the traps They pushed Portadown back and Parkhall captain Jessica McQuillan scooped a shot wide after finding space in the area Portadown defender Faith Ritchie produced an excellent tackle to thwart Kitson as she was about to get a shot off inside the area Down the other end Kelly raced off her line to stop a Baird shot Parkhall’s Holly Smyth then produced a strong shot which was pushed away by Portadown keeper Beth Evans Portadown extended their lead on 42 minutes Another pinpoint pass from Roney found Speers down the left flank She sped clear of her marker and smashed a shot against the post The rebound was picked up by Baird down the right flank She beat a defender before crossing to Sasha Thompson eight yards out and she clipped the ball home A minute later Thompson forced another great save out of Kelly and shortly after she fired another shot straight at the Parkhall keeper Speers also steered an effort past the upright Parkhall did not let their heads drop and kept going however they could not find a way through the resolute Portadown defence In added time a sweetly struck Murray free-kick was pushed away by Evans and that was the last meaningful action of a well contested final but Portadown were more clinical in front of goal and deserved the win Parkhall Integrated College: Katelynn Kelly Substitutes: (used) Elizabeth Titterington Please click Accept and Close to accept the use of cookies on our website By continuing to Ryan Curran opened the scoring on 31 minutes for the Reds before Ahu Obhakhan equalised three minutes later with a fantastic flick. Rory Hale finished off a well-worked move to restore the home side's advantage, but Josh Ukek levelled again 10 minutes from time to secure a share of the spoils. The result sees Portadown move up to fifth in the table, whilst the Reds remain in seventh with one league win in their last seven games. Image source, Press EyeImage caption, Cliftonville twice surrendered a two goal lead against Portadown Niall Currie's men went close to taking the lead on 21 minutes when Steven McCullough's wicked corner fell kindly for Baris Altintop at the back post, but with the goal gaping, the defender somehow contrived to nod wide. They continued to knock on the door with Odumosu palming away a fierce drive from Shay McCartan. Curran then opened the scoring for the Reds just after the half-hour mark. Shea Kearney's teasing cross from the right sparked chaos in the Ports' defence, with Eric McWoods unwittingly playing the perfect dummy into the path of Curran, who pounced to prod home from close range. The jubilation was short-lived however, as Obhakhan silenced the Solitude crowd with a moment of magic just minutes later. Latching onto McCullough's inviting cross, he delicately lifted the ball over Odumosu with the outside of his boot for his seventh league goal of the season. Jim Magilton's charges then reclaimed the lead early in the second half as Curran turned provider, threading a needle-perfect pass to captain Hale, who rifled past Aaron McCarey at his near post. Just as it seemed the home side would secure all three points, the Ports struck in the 79th minute. Lee Chapman's cross caused havoc in the six-yard box, and under pressure from Josh Ukek, Odumosu missed his punch, allowing Ukek to roll the ball into the empty net.
