We are excited to share our plan to make a significant investment in Prestatyn
to increase the number of trains on the North Wales Coast
This initiative will not only improve transportation but also boost local tourism and support the community’s growth
we need to review the crossing usage in the area and the added risks that this may bring
These crossings pose a risk to the local community due to the high number of users
crossing with poor visibility of forthcoming trains
which can reach speeds of 70 to 80 miles per hour as they pass through
we propose permanently closing both level crossings near Beverley Drive and Sandy Lane and constructing a safer alternative way to cross over the railway
we would like to engage with the local community to incorporate your feedback and listen to any concerns you may have

Sandy Lane Sandy Lane is one of the highest-risk footpath crossings on the Wales and Borders network
We have received numerous reports of near misses and instances of misuse
with three incidents recently reported within an hour on 5 February 2025
We have taken previous feedback from the community into account
we propose putting the ramped bridge closer to Prestatyn Station rather than in front of local houses
The images shown are for illustration only
as the proposed bridge is subject to change as the project develops
We have considered a diversion along Bridge Road
This option would mean no construction work and no stand-alone large structure
Further user impact would include the following:
We have also considered additional changes to Bridge Road
which would improve the walking route for users
This option would involve some construction work on the road bridge and its access
Remaining user impact would include the following:
Beverley Drive crossing is not heavily used
and frequent reports of anti-social behaviour occur
Our proposal is to close this crossing and divert users via a safe alternative route over the railway using the walkway next to the Ffordd Penrhwylfa bridge
we considered the lowest-cost and shortest diversion option
we are not currently developing this option based on historical feedback and recent engagement with the council and local politicians regarding the visual impact on local residents
We will be holding a drop-in session on the date and time given below to share our proposed plans
and we welcome any feedback or questions that you may have
Wednesday 26 March 202514:30 to 19:00Ty Caradoc Community Centre – 4 Caradoc Road
Further information will be shared when a single option is confirmed in the coming months
To ensure the new timetable can be implemented in 2026
we may need to construct a temporary stepped bridge while the permanent solution is being constructed
We hope to finalise our plans later this year (Summer 2025) to start the design phase of the work
We want to create a safer way for people to cross the railway by reducing the risk of accidents
Our proposed plan is to close both crossings and provide an accessible
safe route over the railway to the nearby nature reserve Coed Y Morfa
Closing the level crossings will also help us increase line speeds and improve train punctuality
More services for North Wales will help drive economic and social benefits for the area

The business park site spans more than 11 acres
A business park on the land off Warren Drive to the east of the Welsh town has been redeveloped to provide 75,000 sq ft of refurbished space
Bolton-based developer James Industrial will now collaborate with the joint agents working on the Prestatyn scheme
The site is arranged in three blocks covering 11 acres
Having previously hosted Prestatyn-born Kwik Save
while together Blocks C and D offer 35,300 sq ft of space at the site’s southern boundary
More than 75,000 sq ft of space will be provided
with units available from 1,400 sq ft to 18,800 sq ft at £6.50/sq ft
Five of the 28 units are already occupied – current tenants include Queens Classics
Each D2 Architects-designed block provides a yard for goods deliveries and
a 10,000 sq ft office block at the site’s north will be made available to tenants
The project team behind the scheme includes Wrexham-based Knights Construction
A one-way system for cars around the site would be integrated
Vehicles would benefit from the proximity to the A55
Elsewhere, James Industrial recently requested permission from Blackburn with Darwen Council to begin the demolition of the former Perspex site known as Orchard Mill

New homes in Prestatyn will be released for sale off plan this week (from January 31) from a local agent
Castle Green Homes is building 45 homes at Swn Y Mor on Gronant Road and is working with Peter Large Estate Agents to market the development
The 3.6 acre site was allocated for housing in the Denbighshire County Council Local Development Plan in 2013
Castle Green Homes sales director Sian Pitt said:
“This site has long been earmarked for housing and we first started receiving enquiries from potential purchasers interested in our new homes in Prestatyn back in 2022 when plans for the development were announced
We’ve been keeping those people and others who’ve registered their interest informed of our progress
They’ve been invited to an exclusive event being hosted by respected local business Peter Large Estate Agents this Friday to launch the development
“We’d encourage other potential purchasers to create a Willow account via our website
where they’ll also be able to take virtual tours of the homes before they’re built
Willow is effectively a virtual new home assistant
test out specification options and create a digital twin of the home you’re buying.”
The development name Swn Y Mor translates as “sound of the sea”
three and four-bedroom homes to cater for local demand
managing director of Peter Large Estate Agents
“The synergy between Castle Green and ourselves is perfect
luxurious lifestyle homes and comprehensive customer service
award-winning marketing and unbridled passion for property and Prestatyn town
“Demand is extremely strong for new homes in Prestatyn and the surrounding areas
Swn Y Mor occupies a semi-rural position on the fringe of Prestatyn town
with many of the properties overlooking open fields with distant views towards the dunes and sea beyond
Local buyers are excited about the range of new build options and the chance to upsize to a home that offers a clean start without the need for renovations
we anticipate interest from people retiring to the area from Manchester
For more information about the homes at Swn Y Mor see here. For an exclusive invitation to the launch event, contact Peter Large’s Prestatyn office on 01745 888 100 or email prestatyn@peterlarge.com.
