New quarry set to strengthen sand and gravel supply to the western area of the city of London
CEMEX have secured the ongoing supply of aggregates to the London market by opening a new sand and gravel quarry in Shepperton
It is anticipated that around 1.2million tonnes will be excavated from this site over a period of up to five years
with a further year to complete restoration of the land back to agricultural use
Aggregates from Shepperton Quarry will supply key infrastructure projects in the West London area
as well as meeting the needs of nearby ready-mixed concrete plants and other local requirements
aggregates operations manager for Cemex UK
commented: ‘The opening of this new quarry is crucial to ensure we can continue to supply the important London market
Sand and gravel reserves in this area are becoming harder and harder to secure
we are extremely excited to open our new Shepperton Quarry following a significant investment into a new on-site processing plant

‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’
The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings of Power is moving to a new home at the UK’s Shepperton Studios for its third season
Confirming a third season order for the big budget streaming series
Amazon said the show’s next run is currently in pre-production and will begin filming this spring at Shepperton
where the company has a long-term lease.
After relocating from its original location in New Zealand
The Rings Of Power shot its second season at the UK’s Bray Film Studios
which Amazon bought in July last year.
The show’s third season will have three directors
who served as co-executive producer and directed multiple episodes in the first two seasons
returns as executive producer and director for the third season
She is joined by returning director Sanaa Hamri and Stefan Schwartz
the British/Canadian film and TV director who has previously directed episodes of The Boys
The Americans and Luther and as well as features including Soft Top Hard Shoulder.
The Rings of Power is produced by showrunners and executive producers J D Payne and Patrick McKay.
Amazon MGM Studios head of television Vernon Sanders said: “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power continues to captivate audiences worldwide
and we’re thrilled that a third season is underway
The creative team has an extraordinary vision of what’s to come with stories that have left us enchanted and enthralled
We look forward to continuing this epic journey
delving even deeper into the legendary tales that shaped Middle-earth.”
NarniaWeb | Netflix's Narnia Movies
The stage is being set for Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia
and it appears that some of those stages will be at Shepperton Studios
In an article about the rising British film industry for The Times
film journalist Ed Potton writes that Shepperton is “home to Greta Gerwig’s Narnia adaptation,” alongside two upcoming Marvel Avengers films
Located in Surrey, England, Shepperton is the second-largest film studio in the world
with 31 purpose-built sound stages and facilities comprising of 1.5 million square feet throughout the site
Looking for all the news about Netflix’s Narnia? Here’s everything we know
If they really are aiming for a 2026 release
you’d think they’d start finalizing the cast soon and prepping to shoot next year
But I’ll admit I never can tell exactly how long it takes to make big-budget-special-effects movies
other times they start filming a year out from their release date and get it done
I’ve wondered if they’ll shoot both pictures back to back
I do hope we get some real locations as well
While New Zealand is beautiful and worked fine for the Walden films
I’d love to see scenery from the UK serve as scenery for Narnia
I’m a little confused as to how they’re not casting yet if they really want to release the first movie in 2026 too
Despite leaks and rumors and what insiders say
a lot of movie business is done without the public’s knowledge
Netflix productions especially seem adept at keeping their productions under wraps
These Narnia movies may not be doing an open casting call
But I don’t see why we should expect to be updated on things like this
I’m sure they are location-scouting right now too and hiring crew
but they aren’t necessarily publicizing it
How I’d love to be a fly-on-the-wall at Shepperton when they’re filming
Hopefully not too long before production begins
the first casting details for Walden’s LWW didn’t come out untill 18 months before release
we’ve only just crossed the 2 year boundary (if the Thanksgiving 2026 rumours are correct) therefore we shouldn’t really expect any casting news untill maybe March or April
it could be next door and it wouldn’t make any difference to my level of access
we’re getting closer to seeing this all put together
I think she will try to film as much of the series as possible in England
Walden went for NZ to capitalise on LOTR popularity
but Greta seems committed to the English-ness of Narnia

The weekend cinema service at The John Barry Theatre at Pinewood Studios and The Korda Theatre at Shepperton Studios are set to close at the end of February due to sustained low audience numbers

both venues will continue to provide occasional
more targeted cinema screenings for the community
These events are typically better attended and resonate well with their audiences
We recognise that this will cause some disappointment to attendees of the weekend cinema screenings
but we hope you will enjoy the events we will schedule and host in the future
The final Pinewood Cinema screenings will take place on the weekend of 21

South Western Railway has confirmed where the next of its new and very heavily delayed Arterio trains will be deployed across its rail network
More trains in the fleet are coming into service now to increase services from Windsor & Eton Riverside
Five of the new trains have also been given names
inspired by the sporting venues that South Western Railway passes along its route
Ace (tennis) and Thames Racer (river races)
serving the routes to Windsor & Eton Riverside and Shepperton
calling at some of SWR’s busiest stations including Earlsfield
Apart from being newer trains to replace older models, with all the moden amenities expected
the new trains can also carry more passengers
reducing overcrowding during the rush hours
The next Arterios will be rolled out as follows:
0845 Waterloo – Waterloo via Hounslow
1707 Waterloo – Waterloo via Richmond
0813 Waterloo – Strawberry Hill via Twickenham
1801 Strawberry Hill – Waterloo via Twickenham
1607 Waterloo – Waterloo via Hounslow
This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles
It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising
Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver
every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website
and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts
If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here
I wonder if more space actually means more seats or just more space for people to stand
And I hope those seats are more comfortable than the ironing boards on Thameslink
So the people who pay the most for the longer journeys endure the least comfort
Lots of different traincrew depots involved in those
which is why they’ll go over later than some routes which are more self contained
Has always looked like Class 455 units on the Woking and Cobham lines would outlast Southwestern Railway
These are all in all quite appalling trains
Hope they will have some means of boarding and gettingnoff train
where disembarking means a jump onto the platform
Looks like these have the same narrow seats as on the Portsmouth Harbour line
Great for people with no arms or shoulders
Fed up to the back teeth with south western railway bring on renàtilisation !!

Film studios in England are to receive business rates relief for the next nine years
as the government rolls out a 40% reduction from yesterday (February 17)
Local authorities can begin implementing schemes and awarding the tax relief
the government confirmed that it would proceed with film studio business rates relief that will be available for eligible studios in England until 2034
The UK’s creative sector already employs over 2.4 million people and is worth £124bn to the economy
Relief will be available on properties valued by the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) as film studios
Film studios will not need to apply for the relief
as local authorities will award it to eligible properties
Wales and Northern Ireland are all devolved on business rates
Studios will remain eligible for improvement relief in addition to this relief
Across 2024, production spend across the whole UK totalled £5.6bn
Projects to shoot in studios in 2024 included Bridgerton in Shepperton Studios
The Fantastic Four: First Steps in Pinewood and the Peaky Blinders film at Digbeth Loc. Studios.

will have final screenings on Sunday 23 February 2025."
Customers rushed to the comment section to express their confusion
One wrote: "I had no idea there was a cinema...I've lived in the area for over 15 years.
Your marketing department has missed something not to advertise this more widely..
Another chimed in: "It was absolutely great while it lasted
Many have called for bosses to rethink the decision to shut the cinemas
saying: "I never even knew there was a weekend cinema service there
"Maybe rethink if you can publicise that you do this
Also maybe show some Pinewood specific movies as well
Lib Dem councillor for Spelthorne Borough Council
felt the community had been let down by the studios
He was disappointed by the upcoming closure and feels that it could have made a real positive impact on people's lives
He told SurreyLive: "I'd say about 95% of people had never heard of it
and we do want big employers here but they need to give back
When I visited Shepperton Studios two years ago
it reminded me of somewhere magical like visiting Disneyland
or something out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
"When I saw it being closed down it felt like a punch in the gut
the film industry has got this cinema and it could be a place to make people feel good
it would be really nice if they had done something
If they were in financial dire straits I would understand it."
a spokesperson from Pinewood Studios told SurreyLive that despite calls for the decision to be reconsidered
the cinemas will still go ahead with the closure
The last day of operation will be on Sunday
the weekend cinemas at Shepperton and Pinewood will come to a close at the end of February due to sustained low audience numbers rendering it no longer viable
will have final screenings on Sunday 23 February 2025
"There were weekly newsletters regarding the cinemas at Shepperton and Pinewood that were sent to over 6,000 recipients as well as regular advertising in Village Matters
boosted posts on the dedicated Facebook pages for each site and there is a permanent ad for the cinema at Shepperton Station
These events are typically better attended and resonate well with their audiences."

the film studio company hosting the latest James Bond installment
is hoping for a smoother year after the US writers' strike
a weak dollar and tax changes knocked profits in 2007
Its studios hosted major productions last year
including Sweeney Todd and The Bourne Ultimatum but other films were delayed and Pinewood's film revenues fell 13% to £19.5m
The American writers' strike that started last autumn knocked back a number of shoots at Pinewood's studios
Its chief executive Ivan Dunleavy said today that one film had been "postponed" rather than merely "delayed," but on others it was merely a case of timing rather than lost business
The company had already warned investors in November that it would lose £3m after a major production
believed to be the prequel to 2006's smash hit The Da Vinci Code
halted plans to film at its studios because of the writers' strike
Although Pinewood has expanded into hosting more TV productions to mitigate the effects of a traditionally volatile film business
its pre-tax profits still fell 26% to £5.3m in 2007
Although the results were in line the company's own expectations
The company has also suffered from the effects of a weak dollar
which has made US filmmakers more reluctant to film overseas because they get worse value for their currency
Pinewood said the continued weakness of the dollar
changed tax laws on co-productions and the writers' strike all combined to reduce total film production investment in the UK by 15% to £723m in 2007
The number of films fell to 112 from 135 in 2006
The cloud on the 2008 horizon for film production is the prospect of an actors' strike to follow the writers' walkout
"The Writers Guild strike is being seen as a sign that the potential Screen Actors Guild dispute may be averted
negotiations have yet to commence," Pinewood cautioned
On the television side - where 2007 revenues edged up 2.5% to £12.1m - Dunleavy signalled he was not worried about a downturn in advertising spending and the prospects of smaller commissioning budgets among commercial television channels
Pinewood's studios host the filming of TV comedy My Family and quiz show The Weakest Link as well as adverts and music videos
The Spice Girls and Led Zeppelin all worked there
This year the company hopes to continue signing longer term deals with producers and broadcasters
"The advertising market will be an issue but the demand for content continues to rise," said Dunleavy
"From our point of view we are relatively relaxed about that."
which is chaired by ITV boss Michael Grade
says it is looking forward to "modest growth on the year overall"
Expected film revenues were so far showing "some modest improvement" and the level of television bookings and enquiries indicated stronger demand year-on year
Revenues from its "media park" activities - renting out its property and facilities to third parties - were progressing steadily
Dunleavy said the company's confidence was reflected in a 10% increase to its dividend in 2007 to 3.3p

he realises he had been on a mission to travel to the Tau Ceti solar system
in an attempt to save the Earth from another Ice Age

McLanahan install new sand and gravel processing system for Cemex quarry in Shepperton
McLANAHAN Corporation have partnered with Cemex for their latest project in Shepperton
The plant will include an UltraWASH 5165-31S and an UltraCRUSH CC90 cone crusher system to process natural sand and gravel
McLanahan’s team of process engineers and design engineers worked closely with Cemex to design the best solution for the needs of the project
The UltraWASH and UltraCRUSH will work together to allow the plant to produce two sizes of aggregate and one concrete sand
The McLanahan UltraWASH system consists of a feeder
The UltraCRUSH cone crusher is designed on a modular structure that allows for quick installation and start-up
whilst still producing the necessary spec size for the project
The raw feed material is introduced into the McLanahan systems by land conveyor to a variable-speed belt feed hopper
The primary rinsing screen separates the feed into 10mm and 20mm aggregate
with all +20mm conveyed to the UltraCRUSH to be reduced in size and recirculated back into the system
The –4mm sand and water from the process is sent to a sump before being pumped to hydrocyclones which classify the sand to meet required specifications by separating out any fine sand and silt
The product-sized concrete sand discharges from the hydrocyclones on to a dewatering screen to remove excess moisture before stockpiling
‘We are delighted to provide a solution for one of the largest aggregate producers in the UK
Cemex operate 22 quarries in this region and this is the first plant supplied by McLanahan for their operations here,’ said Donal McNicholl
McLanahan’s sales director for the UK and Ireland
‘We are proud to be continuing to form strong relationships in the UK with companies like Cemex
and we look forward to seeing where this partnership can take both companies.’
said: ‘Working with McLanahan to install the new plant equipment at our Shepperton Quarry
will allow us to continue to produce essential building materials to support the demand for local building and infrastructure improvements across the area
The team at McLanahan were receptive to the specific requirements of the site and we were delighted with their flexibility in meeting our needs.’

Hundreds of protesters demonstrated at lakes across the UK on Saturday to raise concerns about the state of the UK's water
people swam out into the water in protective clothing
It comes amid widespread concerns about the UK's water being contaminated by sewage
LBC revealed earlier this week that a hidden network of up to 10,000 unmonitored sewage pipes across the country could be driving the pollution crisis
a suspected manure leak into a water pipe has led to hundreds of people getting ill with an intestinal parasite

Read more: MP says 'heads will roll' over Devon water parasite crisis, as confirmed cryptosporidium cases double
One protester at the Shepperton Lake protest told LBC: "I'm just horrified when you think that all of these water companies are paying out massive profits to themselves
And then ordinary citizens are having to boil water and getting ill
we shouldn't be having these kinds of problems
"So it needs investment needs attention
I think the water should be kept clean and it's so important to be able to do this for your mental health and swimming..
"Why can't it be separated and why should it be flushed into the lakes?"

Surfers against Sewage said: "Our ocean is under threat
Water companies are forcing our rivers and seas into a critical state by continuing to dump a toxic chemical cocktail of untreated sewage straight into waterways
regulators and Governments have let them get away with it
who spent nearly two decades as a scientific advisor at one of the UK’s biggest water companies

told LBC that water companies have significantly underestimated the number of pipes in operation across the UK
the true number could be 50% higher than the 22,000 overflows currently acknowledged by the government
who separately provides technical expertise for the charity Rivers Trust
said: “Some water companies might be a bit better than others
but the majority of them still have unknowns out there
“This is mainly because of the poor record-keeping of the companies that were amalgamated to create the companies that we know now
There are potentially approximately between 20-50% extra outfalls than what [the water companies] are stating and what they are monitoring.”
LBC also revealed this week that there had been a fivefold increase in the number of fish killed where river pollution has potentially been a contributory factor
according to data from the Environment Agency
Figures obtained through an Environmental Information Request showed that the number of fish killed where water pollution was detected rose to over 216,000 in the financial year 2023/24 - up from 42,070 in 2022/23
Whilst other factors such as climate change is likely to be having an impact on the number of fish killed
LBC’s data is one of the clearest indications yet of the effect of river pollution on aquatic life
Meanwhile an outbreak of cryptosporidiosis in Devon this week
caused by the waterborne parasite cryptosporidiosis
was likely sparked by a faulty water pipe operated by South West Water
with hundreds more people reporting symptoms
A school has had to close and several businesses have been affected
said "heads will roll" but that it was "more important to get the system back up and running" first

The Inspiration for Pub Success Since 1794
02-Aug-2023 Last updated on 02-Aug-2023 at 11:19 GMT
The Surrey site scooped the Star Pubs & Bars Pub of the Year title in 2022. Here, co-operator Steve Orme tells The Morning Advertiser all about the pub, some of the keys to its success and what the future holds for Orme and business partner James Thomson.
James and I were both born and bred and schooled in Shepperton. We met when we were 12, at secondary school, which is round the corner from where the Red Lion is so we’re both local lads. We both went off and travelled the world. I actually went backpacking with James when we were 21.
After backpacking, we came back and the village of Shepperton felt even smaller so James moved into London and started carving out a career as a chef.
I went off for another round-the-world trip and then moved into London and ended up flat sharing with James before returning to Shepperton when we both had children.
We saw the Red Lion was up for lease and we ended up making an offer on our old local pub.
It’s a 300-year-old building but it’s been developed to a modern standard that is open plan and beautiful but when we took it on, it was very tired, very inward-looking, very dark wood, it was of a different time and it was in quite a sorry state from the pub we remembered.
We were running two restaurants in London at the time, which we’d opened in 2003 and we’ve done OK having won Timeout awards, Observer food awards, done TV work with Channel 4, Channel 5 and various stuff with restaurants called Fish Club where we had basically put fish and chips back on the map.
So we took over the pub in September 2013. We did a redevelopment on it and wanted to try to drag the trends we learned in London such as standards of service and food style to the Red Lion Shepperton so we opened what, effectively, is a London-style gastropub in Surrey on the River Thames.
We always joke James is an ex-chef and I and I’m an ex-electrician. James was schooled in home economics and went off to catering college and then got real break and was trained under Albert Roux so he had an incredible grounding at The Grand in Amsterdam.
He also worked in South Africa and went to St John in London, under Fergus Henderson and carved out quite a name for himself in the restaurant industry.
I was an enthusiastic home cook who learned to cook through Ready, Steady, Cook but I was an electrician so James taught me to cook properly.
I’m more front of house though. I learnt that when I worked at Doyle’s in Australia.
It’s a Star Pubs & Bars site but we make, bake and shake everything. We bake our own bread, we make our own pork scratchings, we make our own mayonnaise.
We picked up a very good chef six months after opening. Our original one didn’t quite cut it so we brought in a sous chef who has an incredible amount of talent and he’s been with us ever since. And we’re nearly at year 10.
We retain our staff because we try to look after them, pay them right and treat them right and [head chef] Robbie [Borst] is key to that if it.
We actually now employ a lot of Aussies and Kiwis who come over here on working visas because staffing is an absolute nightmare – Brexit is hell.
As long as you’ve got live-in positions, getting Aussie, Kiwis or Canadians is really good. I love taking these guys on because they’ve always got the right enthusiasm.
James and I are ops managers, we’ve got a general manager who runs day-to-day now but for the first seven years, I was pulling pints and pretty much doing the the general manager’s position.
We have lots of part-time and full-time staff. We have about 40 members of staff but some of them might only do two shifts a week, so real core, full-time staff, is probably about 20. There’s more people towards the front.
Head chef Robbie has been with us nine and a half years while Liam has been with us seven years. They are the absolute engine of that kitchen.
I’ve got another great guy called Max who’s joined us as a chef de partie.
We’re in a fairly good area so we’re a higher end pub – we are, ultimately, a pub. I think the word ‘gastropub’ has become a bit bastardised because Wetherspoon thinks it’s a gastropub because it serves a burger or a steak.
Our average customer is probably aged 35-plus.
We always wanted to be a pub where you can come down after work in a pair of shorts and work boots, get yourself a pint and sit down at a table – and when you order something to eat, it just happens to be great food. We are not a restaurant in a former pub.
Sometimes you’ll go into food-led pubs and it’ll be white tablecloths and you wouldn’t feel right just going in for a pint.
We have a good pub trade but if you’re ordering food, it will be great and I reckon we make cocktails better than the Dorchester.
It’s all about the 1%. If you want to make it 100% correct, there are 100 1%s within that You have to do each one of those 1%s correctly and that starts with saying hello as you enter, passing your pint with the brand label facing you and so on.
Our ice cubes are 26mm x 26mm x 32mm because you never want to serve pebbly little bits of ice. I learned that off Ed Theakston. Smaller ice can dilute the drink whereas you want it to remain chilled.
We do a seasonal menu. The burger is always going to be the biggest seller on any pub menu so we make sure our burger is cracking.
My guys even peel the tomatoes. I once asked why we do that and was told the human body doesn’t digest tomato skins and it can be stringy so why bother serving it in the burger?
We make our own burger sauce, which makes a big difference. We get great burgers from a butcher in Chiswick. But then we’ll do things like soft shelled crab burgers, we have a Chateaubriand on at the minute.
We make the gravy for Sunday roasts over three days.
Robbie is very clever. I say it’s almost like restaurant-quality food we’re doing here and he looks at me with a wry smile.
It doesn’t matter what we are doing, we do everything at a certain level.
We have a moving and changing menu. We do a £17 hot dog but it’s about the right money because no customer has ever said anything about the price and one said it’s one of the best hot dogs they’ve ever had.
We get a lot of repeat business. It’s all fresh, homemade and high end.
We have a great wine list as well and we go through to doing cracking cocktails as well.
Draught beer is always going to be out lead seller though. The biggest seller is Birra Moretti by far and we always have two real ales on – currently it’s London Pride and Timothy Taylor’s Landlord.
We’re a Star pub so we’ve got Heineken, Moretti, Amstel, Guinness and Neck Oil, which does really well – it regularly comes in 3rd or 4th biggest seller while being the most expensive pint on the bar and we also do Gamma Ray from Beavertown as well, plus a cider.
Events are great to create good trade on quieter periods. Friday, Saturday and Sunday look after themselves so we always look to try and fill those quieter times.
Most recently, we’ve introduced live music on a Sunday evening from 6pm till 9pm. It’s at the back end of Sunday roast because we’ve got a full pub but people are beginning to drift off then.
To avoid what we call “the ghost ship”, we put in live music on to keep them here.
We also do events such as flower arranging, candle-making courses, wine tasting evenings and meal nights.
We’ve introduced a boat company where I’ve built a whole new area because we are on the river.
We do Christmas wreath making for their front doors. I get a florist to come in and last year I sold out for five nights. There’s about 30 people per evening. They all pay money to take part and I only make about a fiver from the actual wreaths but it puts a lot of people into the pub – they all have a drink when they arrive, most of them eat too, and you create a busy Tuesday evening at the back end of November.
We’ve also done flower arranging nights in the summer or spring and we’ve held candle making classes too. At about 12.30pm, about 20 people have made their candles but they take 45 minutes to set. People can collect them from her shop or hang around and I would say out of 20 people, 19 of them order lunch. I make no money at all for the candle making and give the lady the space for nothing – we even chuck in a free glass of Prosecco.
We introduced a boat company called Pub Tub at the Red Lion last year because we’re right on the river. It was an idea we had for six years. We have two beautiful electric boats. It’s a self-drive, self-hire boat company and we have people come from far afield to use them.
If you and five mates have just finished your two-hour beautiful boat ride, you’re going to have a pint and have lunch.
We had a fish and chip takeaway running from the car park for the past seven years but we’ve just closed it because the absolute living nightmare of Brexit means I cannot get anybody to cook anymore so we just do takeaways from the bar.
At the moment the Red Lion is probably where it is for the minute but we our focus is being switched to a brand new site, the Golden Grove, which is in Chertsey – about four miles down the road.
We’ve taken the trends of what’s happening in London and are bringing them out to where we are now. We’ve put in Smart Darts, which is like Flight Club. We put in only one board due to space but have added a 16-ft shuffleboard as well.
We’ve also put a smokery in. There’s two of this type in the whole of Europe, one is in Denmark and we’ve got the other. They have come from Texas and are so big you can put a whole pig in it.
We are going to start doing ‘low and slow’ and we also installed a pizza oven so we are cutting our cloth a little bit to the type of chef you can expect to get these days but we still have a great chef there but they won’t have to be to the depth of what Robbie and Liam can do.
The price point will hopefully be right there as well. For example, you can use the greatest tomatoes, the greatest mozzarella, the greatest ingredients on a pizza but you can still only charge £11/£12 for it. However, the margin can be as high as 80% to 90%. You don’t have to skimp. You can get make the greatest pizzas ever and still have a really keen price point.

This is a Stormtrooper helmet that was made by Andrew Ainsworth of Shepperton Design Studios from the original moulds used for the helmets from the first Star Wars film – Star Wars: A New Hope from 1977
Ainsworth developed the moulds back in the 1970s and created the helmets used in the film
and in the many years since he has worked on a vast number of major sci-fi blockbusters including Superman and Alien
Above Video: This short film from Autosport tells the story of Ayrton Senna’s final weekend
The helmet you see here was created as a tribute to Ayrton Senna
arguably the greatest Formula 1 driver of all time
and certainly one of the best to ever turn a wheel
Senna would win the World Championship three times
he would win 41 races and take 65 pole positions
before his career was cut short in a fatal accident at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix
As Senna was only 34 at the time of his death
many have wondered how many more wins and championships he could have accrued
He had showed absolutely no signs of slowing down
and some modern F1 drivers have shown that they can remain highly competitive well into their 40s
The helmet has a flip-up-style tinted shield on the front
a departure from the design of the Star Wars originals
but it otherwise remains true to the 1977 Star Wars shape
Once this helmet had been created from the original Star Wars moulds it was passed to artist Jason Brooks who painstakingly hand-painted the original colors and decals of Senna’s iconic helmet and applied the requisite decals
A key change was made to the Marlboro logo
The helmet is now being offered for sale by Bonhams, if you’d like to read more about it or register to bid you can visit the listing here
