Arriva said the decision was made to alter the 71 service between Snodland and Maidstone for "safety reasons" The problems began last Friday (October 25) when Arriva first tweeted about youths "throwing stones" at its vehicles The service did not serve St Katherines and Holborough in a bid to protect staff and passengers a spokesperson for the bus company said: "Due to youths throwing stones at the buses in Holborough and Snodland High Street we are suspending the 71 service from Tescos Lunsford Park to Snodland train station Similar incidents happened on Wednesday (October 30) which led to Arriva making the decision to divert its service until at least November 10 In a statement released yesterday (October 31) an Arriva spokesperson said: "Following a number of vandalism incidents with objects being thrown at our vehicles Service 71 has been diverted from this evening until further notice."
