A leading global supplier of fasteners and metal engineered components to the automotive sector has expanded its presence in Southam by taking up 15,000 sq ft of space at a new industrial scheme.
Auto Fasteners Ltd, which already has five units in Southam, has signed a 10-year lease on a trio of units at Sucham Park to support its continued expansion.
It will provide warehouse, assembly, quality inspection and office space for the business which supplies parts to Volvo Group, Scania, Daimler Group, Ford, Stellantis, VW Group, Aston Martin and Jaguar Land Rover to name but a few.
Sucham Park is a 42,200 sq ft scheme from Warwickshire Property & Development Group (WPDG). WPDG has created nine new commercial units on the site at Holywell Business Park, which forms part of the Kineton Road Industrial Estate.
The business, which has 14 staff, formed by Scott Simpson in 2007 and moved to Southam in 2011. It is a major exporter with 90 per cent of its business exporting around the world, supplying OEMs with engineered fasteners and metal components of the highest quality.
Scott Simpson, Founder and Managing Director of Auto Fasteners, said: “We’re growing with our long-term customers and gaining new customers too, which has contributed to year-on-year turnover growth and a need for more space to support our expansion.
“It gives us the option to keep expanding and explore new opportunities. We have business in North America, Brazil, India, Japan and all over Europe.
“We are currently going through the process of opening a facility in North America, but our Headquarters will always remain here in Southam, Warwickshire.
“The location of Sucham Park is perfect for us, it’s a stone’s throw from our existing space in Southam and the units are a good size for what we are looking to do.”
Auto Fasteners is the second business to lease space at the development in Southam, which features units ranging from 1,900 to 15,000 sq ft in size.
Stuart Buckley, Managing Director of WPDG, said: “Sucham Park has been built to provide high-quality space to enable businesses to continue to grow and thrive in Warwickshire.
“Auto Fasteners are a perfect example of this and it is fantastic that they have expanded their presence in Southam with this new deal.
“We are continuing to see significant interest in space at Sucham Park as it continues to develop into a hub for business in Southam.”
Councillor Peter Butlin, Deputy Leader of Warwickshire County Council and Portfolio Holder for Finance and Property, added: “It’s great to see that Sucham Park is the preferred location to support the local growth of Auto Fasteners and pays testament to the hard work of Warwickshire Property & Development Group.
“Sucham Park is a brilliant example of a high-quality development that provides expansion potential for companies and employment opportunities for local people.”
Bromwich Hardy has been appointed to market the units at Sucham Park to prospective tenants and completed the lease.
Mark Booth, surveyor with the Coventry-based commercial property specialist, said Sucham Park had generated huge interest.
He said: “This is exactly the sort of high-quality commercial space the region needs and it’s great to see a thriving company like Auto Fasteners expanding its operation here. The site sets the standards for the future with its impeccable green credentials and we would urge any company interested in the remaining units to get in touch quickly, such is the level of interest.”
Andrew Jones, Partner at Leamington law firm Wright Hassall, advised on the lease on behalf of WPDG, with Auto Fasteners represented by Thomas Flavell & Sons Solicitors.
Andrew said: “We are extremely pleased to support WPDG on its very first industrial scheme.
“There is significant demand for this size of unit from SMEs across the area, and it is fantastic to see WPDG helping to fill this gap in the market.
“We would be delighted to see more of these types of developments come to fruition across the region to support businesses and the growth of our economy.”

I noticed that swimming aus is using the world aquatics QTs this year
Hope see Arnie Kyle & Mcvoy in Singapore
The entries are out for NSW Open and there’s a lot of big names missing but at least we’ll get to see how Kaylee is tracking
I think part of the reason why Kaylee suddenly dropped out of racing late last year was to process her breakup with Brendon Smith as I notice all their photos together have been deleted from Instagram so hopefully she’s recovered physically and mentally post Paris
and she also mentioned the breakup on a podcast in october
When there’s so much emotional and intimate investment into a relationship it’s hard to process I’m sure .
it’s not something that’s merely transactional
Good to see Will Yang back racing for the first time since Paris
I was a little concerned we might not see him back this season
It’s time for the new kids to step up towards LA28 anyway.
tbh I’m surprise Matthew Wilson is still swimming despite his recent results
I wonder when we’ll see Cam McEvoy swimming again
I thought he would have entered this meet as well
NSW Open usually gets a few big names and entry list should come out today (or at least this week)
Must be taking an extended break after “eloping” to get married recently .
might be starting a new family soon like Kyle Chalmers
I feel like if he weren’t competing this year he’d have announced it so still have hope he’ll be at nationals
might not be able to read too much into his in season times bc i think hes changed his training regime a bit this year
but jamie jack is definitely tracking to make the senior international team this year — maybe even individually in the 100 with a 47 mid by end of season
max also looks substantially better this year vs last in the 100 — maybe he can also hit a 47 high
theres actually quite a few 47 flat start candidates this year on the mens side — kyle
it would kinda be wild reversal if in the singapore the aussie men and… Read more »
Kyle and his fiance have just announced they are expecting a baby
The Aussie men won the 4×1 not so long ago
i think my point was more so that the aussie men appear to have much more potential depth atm in the 100 vs the women
and i forgot about cartwright — thats 7 guys who could potentially go 47 flat start
which almost rivals the depth of the us men
they would still def need kyle to be in form though as the pointy end of the stick
sommerville and da silva are also looking sharp and poised to drop but their pbs are a bit back — i feel like theyre probably only in 48ish range
Oh there’s plenty of potential and I could definitely see Jack going 47 this year but for the most part everyone gets stuck at 47 high to 48 mid
Perhaps we need more guys to follow the 50/100 path like Jack instead of 100/200
thats a good point — probably why will leaped ahead of the pack last year
i think its probably unlikely many of those guys will shift to the 50/100 bc of the relay potential with the 100/200 and culturally australian swimming seems to favor grinding out volume vs power based work (probably why bh overcorrects so much w his sprint revolution lol)

The location benefits from excellent road connectivity
with the A425 easily accessible providing direct links to Southam and Daventry
while the nearby A423 connects to Banbury and Coventry.”
“In the middle of a December night a few years ago
I was woken by the phone ringing downstairs,” Jem Southam writes in his new book
letting the fraught events of the night settle and percolate as he watched the sky
and he picked up his camera to take a picture
and as I walked back along the riverbank in the dark
appreciating all the gifts my brother’s life had thus far given me
and wait until something presented itself to me to photograph.”
Southam returned to the Exe 40 or 50 times at dawn or dusk
He photographed the procession of birds and the gathering of darkness or dawn light; swans taking flight or at rest on the river’s eddies and flows
He captured the cool of the water; the quiet sculptures of the trees; the pinks and purples and greys of the sky; the Devon mizzle
with every droplet in the damp air diffusing light
“Somehow or other I form a connection with a site; a relationship,” he explains
I wait for something to capture my interest
Then I go back and I usually take another picture
If that second picture starts doing something
I’ve got a little piece of work here’.” He is guided by happenstance
allowing a work to dictate itself to him as he follows its narrative
he kept a close eye on the Met Office and the reports of the Exe’s water level
setting an alarm for an hour before dawn on the chosen morning
“How one brief moment can lead to eight years of complete obsession and preoccupation is extraordinary,” he reflects
was the use of digital technology – a major departure for Southam
a landscape photographer known for his work with a 10×8 camera
He had bought a Sony camera out of curiosity
but a headlong fall downstairs and a broken arm meant that wielding the heft of the 10×8 was no longer possible
The sight through the ground glass under the curtain of the large format camera was – and is – precious to Southam; an invigorating
“Now it’s another excitement,” he says of his new tools
“I’m dealing with the fluidity of the world: the light
I don’t look through the viewfinder; I’m looking at the back
and trying to make pictures in this flow of time.” In almost complete darkness
he can make exposures of a third of a second that capture the moonlight tipping the ripples on the river’s surface
it contains images from four different series
the photographer finds a new methodology every year
The four winters of the book’s title – ‘Swan Winter’
‘Forty Dawns’ and ‘The Flooded Pool’ – each have a slightly different focus
to the celestial bodies overseeing the scene
and the mirror-like surface of the pool created by the river’s bend
Southam’s current show at Huxley-Parlour Gallery
displays a selection of photographs made last year
when the photographer changed again from using a Sony camera to a Fuji
inspired “probably the most radical thing I’ve ever done in my life photographically: the decision to turn the camera through 90 degrees.” On the gallery wall
The character of these vertical images is distinct from the four winters gathered in the book; somehow cleaner
Southam took his ladder down to the river for the first time
The heightened vista and larger view of the foreground seem to marry Southam’s new digital methodology with the more formally demanding practice of his landscape photography
Southam had been contemplating the potency of swans as a symbol: Tchaikovsky and the corps de ballet; Scandinavian mythos of swans depicting the sun pulled across the sky to light the day
“You can’t make pictures of birds with a 10×8 camera,” he says
“So to be able to suddenly make the pictures that I want to make
is unbelievably exciting.” Finally he is able to populate the landscapes like the great landscape artists of the past – from Claude Lorrain to John Constable – always did: “I’m animating the landscape in a way I’d never dreamed I would be able to do.”
They both possess a preternatural interest and knowledge of their movement and song
and the particular conditions that lead to their appearance at a given time and place
“I’ve made about four or five different pieces of work about birds,” Southam tells me
“This is the only one that anybody’s ever seen.”
is the only one that anybody’s ever seen.” Like his father and brother
patiently attuning himself to their rhythms
“Although I will never be able to understand how a bird’s mind works or perceives
I do feel a kind of kinship with them when I’m down there,” he says
I feel we’re sharing something; we’re sharing this new morning together
His hospitalisation precipitated the whole project
Two years after that morning when Andy was first admitted
Southam received another fateful early-morning call
“My brother was an extraordinary guy,” Southam remembers
lived at his parents’ home all his life as part of a loving family
Working on a farm through his teenage years
he established a remarkable kinship with the cows that led to his later taking up a position at a zoo
and finding his life’s work as an elephant keeper
“People used to feel sorry for him,” Southam says
his voice breaking as the light dims behind him
what he gave us.” He had grown very close to his brother in the last 15 years of Andy’s life
“One is a sense of loss: thinking about his life
whatever’s happening to us – you just hope maybe today will be a bit better.”
Informed by winter and water and family loss
the photographs reflect Southam’s own life moment too
“This work is the work of an old man,” he reflects
but it’s also very much about an old man contemplating his place in the universe
And beginning to come to terms with the fact that
How many more springs or winters am I going to be here to make these pictures
The swans will continue to settle and ascend
“It’s about celebrating the fact that I can be here
staggeringly extraordinary place to spend some time
if we’re fortunate.” The room behind him has faded to black

A property development company in Warwickshire has completed its first scheme
Sucham Park is a 42,200 square foot industrial scheme in Southam and the first from Warwickshire Property & Development Group (WPDG)
WPDG was formed two years ago by Warwickshire County Council to realise the potential of its development sites
Warwick-based MCS Group has completed the construction project at Holywell Business Park
which forms part of the established Kineton Road Industrial Estate in Southam
The energy-efficient scheme features 10 electric vehicle charge points and roof-mounted solar panels
A fabric first approach has been used to achieve high levels of air permeability and led the buildings to achieve an EPC rating of A
The completed scheme is expected to create 100 jobs and has already seen its first tenant move in
with RMF Installation and Services having taken up a 15,000 sq ft unit
WPDG is partnered with Bromwich Hardy to let the remaining space
with enquiry levels high and further tenants to be announced soon
Deputy Leader of Warwickshire County Council and Portfolio Holder for Finance and Property
added: “Seeing the successful completion of Sucham Park with its first tenant already in place is brilliant news and pays testament to the hard work of Warwickshire Property and Development Group.
said: “This is a major milestone for WPDG and we’re excited to be celebrating the completion of our first direct delivery project
“In a little over a year we have transformed a vacant development site into an industrial scheme which is providing high-quality space for businesses of a range of sizes
“It has been fantastic to partner with MCS to deliver this scheme on time and on budget
working with MCS has allowed us to ensure that the scheme’s economic benefit has stayed in the region at every stage of the process
“There is a need across Warwickshire for high-quality small unit space to help businesses to stay
Sucham Park provides that space while also strengthening the industrial offer in Southam.”
said: “We’re really pleased to have been involved with this project for WPDG
as compared to the majority of our projects this is virtually on our doorstep
“The build process ran really well on site and has produced a really good quality end product.”
More information about WPDG can be found online: https://www.wpdg.co.uk/
