A PUB in the heart of Stanford-le-Hope has been temporarily closed by its operators after repeated breaches of noise orders The New Courthouse on King Street is owned and operated by the nationwide Stonegate Group who have confirmed they acted to remove publican Adam Lakey who reopened the pub around 18 months ago In response to speculation about what has happened on social media said: “We would like to thank the former publican for his hard work over the past 18 months at The New Courthouse due to multiple noise complaints from local residents the publican was served a Noise Abatement Notice from the Environmental Health Officer “The publican was offered support and guidance from Stonegate Group to remedy the situation however the notice was breached on more than one occasion we are now undergoing a recruitment process for a new publican “Placed at the heart of the Stanford-le-Hope community we know how important the pub is to the local area so we are working hard behind the scenes to reopen the popular pub and welcome back guests in the near future.” Last week Thurrock Council issued a notice saying that it planned to review the pub’s licence because of noise issues and public widespread sale of drugs in Essex The investigation is one of those which came from Op Venetic – a major operation involving the cracking of a bespoke encrypted global communication service EncroChat offered a secure mobile phone instant messaging service with 60,000 users worldwide and around 10,000 in the UK international law enforcement agencies worked together to target EncroChat and agencies in France and the Netherlands infiltrated the platform The intelligence gleaned through this was then shared via Europol to national law enforcement agencies Through studying messages garnered from the EncroChat infiltration in April 2020 and Matthew Hutchinson as using the handles ‘Typicalknee’ The messages also showed Renoldi was involved in supplying kilos of cocaine with several different people including Green and Hutchinson and that Renoldi and Green were involved in the supply of MDMA and discussed supplying cannabis Officers also discovered messages indicating Hutchinson was involved in shipping cocaine and ketamine to New Zealand and Australia and he and Renoldi discussed joining up to supply more cocaine to Australia All three openly discussed moving large sums of money around to pay for the drugs This information led to surveillance being carried out which captured Renoldi and Green meeting to exchange more than £140,000 in cash Further messages between the three men also discuss debts of tens of thousands of pounds that both Green and Hutchinson owed Renoldi Further messages discussing the sale of drugs led to a warrant at an address in Basildon being executed where £705,000 in cash and 5kg of cocaine were seized During the search of the address a notebook with handwritten notes and a piece of paper with notes on were recovered These included postcodes and figures next to them and some of the postcodes were for the Railway Tavern in Stanford-le-Hope which Renoldi had control of Carrier bags containing cash were forensically examined and a finger print belonging to Renoldi was identified on one bag which contained more than £100,000 officers continued to track the trio and their messages of High Road Fobbing was arrested at his home during a warrant where more than £5,000 in cash was found along with the Encro device linked to ‘Typicalknee’ A search of the Railway Tavern located a further £68,950 in cash Brentwood was arrested at his home the following day Westcliff was arrested the following month Renoldi was later charged with two counts conspiracy to commit cocaine two counts of conspiracy to supply a Class B drug Hutchinson was charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and conspiracy to supply a Class B drug Green was charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine All three denied the charges against them but they were found guilty on Tuesday 5 November They will be sentenced at the same court on Friday 10 January and Matthew Hutchinson were involved in the large scale supply of drugs and the exchange of hundreds of thousands of pounds.“Drugs ruin lives and destroy communities.“These three men were making a fortune of the exploitation and misery of others.“That is unacceptable “We work every day to are investigating the sudden death of a child A statement from Essex Police said: “Our officers were called by paramedics to an address in Stanford-le-Hope at about 7.40am on Monday “Paramedics reported the child had suffered a medical episode and “Our investigation into the matter is in the early stages and is ongoing “A 43-year-old woman from Stanford-le-Hope has been arrested and bailed while our enquiries continue.” Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Hampson added: “This child and their family are in the thoughts of my officers and myself at this incredibly difficult time “They remain at the centre of our investigation and I would ask the public not to speculate while we conduct our enquiries “Any case such as this is sensitive and complex – work has not stopped since we were called and we will make sure every line of enquiry is explored “It is crucial we can carry out our work to establish the facts of this case and I’d like to repeat my request to the public not to speculate or encroach into the lives of those involved at a challenging time for all involved.” this morning after residents noticed smoke coming from their kitchen and called 999 firefighters discovered a kitchen fire and smoke throughout the house which had started from a pan left on the hob and ventilated the property to clear the smoke The family received treatment at the scene for smoke inhalation “We’re not certain if the pan was left on from this morning or overnight What we do know is that there were no working smoke alarms so it was fortunate the family noticed the smoke in
