lands with the Bolts in the second round of the NFL Draft and should quickly become Justin Herbert's trusted second option in the passing game opposite Ladd McConkey
Harris will have to hop either Mike Williams or Quentin Johnston to crack the starting lineup
but I'm not worried about his ability to do so
We're discussing a player who has ranked first and ninth in yards per route run over the last two years
stacked up against arguably a former first-round bust and a veteran who looked like he was running on empty last year (per PFF)
The Chargers are looked at as a run-heavy team
but that isn't necessarily true and might not be in 2025
the Bolts ranked 11th in neutral passing rate and seventh in pass rate over expectation (per Fantasy Points Data)
Harris sits atop my Tier 3 of rookies and should be considered a borderline first-round rookie draft selection
I know I'm aggressively above consensus depending on which ADP of other ranking set you're looking at
but I want to be with a player who was my WR2 predraft and is my WR3 post-draft with the new addition of Travis Hunter in my wide receiver rankings

The Chargers upgraded the wide receiver room with the selection of Tre Harris in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft
General manager Joe Hortiz, who appeared on ESPN's The Pat McAfee Show
said he wasn't surprised that Harris was available at pick No
55 but was very excited that he fell to them
"He's a talented player before he got hurt who was leading the country in receiving," Hortiz said
physical playmaker with the ability to win at all three levels
We're just excited about the opportunity to add him
He's one of those guys that you get a little anxious if he's going to get there
and we were fired up to turn his name in."
In two years at Ole Miss
Harris amassed 114 catches for 2,015 yards and 15 touchdowns with the Rebels
He missed five games last season with a groin issue but still led the team in receptions and receiving yards
The Chargers brought back Mike Williams on a one-year deal
but that wouldn't stop them from adding a true X-receiver for the long haul
Harris is a big-bodied receiver who can stretch the field vertically outside the numbers and win in contested situations

Tre Harris checks a lot of boxes for dynasty managers chasing ceiling: size
205-pounder averaged 100.8 receiving yards per game over two seasons at Ole Miss
becoming just the second player in SEC history to top 100 yards per game for his career
And he averaged a historic 5.12 yards per route in 2024.
But Harris ran a limited route tree and needs work in contested situations
He’s a traits-based bet at this point — with the upside to pay off in a big way
Landing in Round 2 with QB Justin Herbert and the Chargers raises his ceiling
Keep reading for a deeper dive into Harris' dynasty value
Harris was not supposed to be a top-tier prospect in the 2025 WR class
He played QB at Comeaux High School in Lafayette
and garnered relatively light interest as a college recruit
Most recruiting services tabbed him as a two-star prospect
and he received just a handful of scholarship offers
Harris chose to stay in-state at Louisiana Tech
He saw offensive snaps in just two games in 2020
running nine routes and hauling in his lone target for 20 yards
But Harris carved out a significant role the next season
finishing second on Louisiana Tech in catches
He led the squad in yards per route (2.17) and passer rating when targeted (104.5)
easily leading the team in both receiving yards and TDs
Harris averaged a team-leading and career-best 2.36 yards per route
Harris finished 32nd in Pro Football Focus receiving grade.
He earned first-team All-Conference USA honors and was named a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist
Harris was ready to take on a bigger challenge
He set his eyes on the SEC and transferred to Ole Miss for 2023
I feel like this year I’ve grown into my body even more
I’m just able to really lock in and I think this year is going to be my best year yet
"I wanted to play against better competition
They’re going to look at who you are playing against.”
The jump in competition didn’t faze Harris
He erupted for 133 yards and 4 TDs in his Ole Miss debut (albeit against Mercer) and went on to lead the team in receiving yards and scores in 2023
Harris was a big-play machine for the Rebels
and yards (325) on passes 20+ yards downfield
But Harris was also a weapon with the ball in his hands
averaging 6.7 yards per catch after the reception
That ranked 47th out of 287 qualifying WRs – even more impressive given Harris’ relatively deep 13.2-yard average target depth
Harris suffered a groin injury in a mid-October game against LSU
He returned six weeks later but lasted less than two quarters before aggravating the injury and missing the rest of the season
So Harris appeared in just eight games last year – but they were ultra-productive
Excluding the Florida game he exited early
and 0.86 TDs across his other seven outings
Harris averaged an absurd 5.12 yards per route in 2024. No other WR at this year’s Combine even cracked 3.72.
Harris’ 5.12 yards per route was the highest by a Power Five WR with 200+ routes since Pro Football Focus started tracking the stat in 2015
Harris also paced all 2024 Combine WRs with 3.78 yards per team pass attempt and tied for second with an 89.4 PFF receiving grade
and again reached Biletnikoff semifinalist status
Harris averaged 100.8 yards per game across his two seasons at Ole Miss
becoming just the second player in SEC history to average 100+ receiving yards per game across his career
Harris is most dangerous with the ball in his hands
averaging 6.4 yards after the catch per reception for his career — and 7.7 last season
where he can build to full speed before making the grab
Harris reminds me of Nico Collins once he gets rolling
Harris beats the angles of three different defenders on this 48-yard TD against Kentucky
he’s a heavy runner with plenty of tackle-breaking power.
Harris was the only WR in the nation to earn a 99.9 PFF receiving grade on targets 20+ yards downfield in both 2023 and 2024
He caught 20 of 38 deep targets for 724 yards and 6 TDs over those two seasons.
Harris’ long-striding speed allows him to get on top of defenders – and then blow by them
but it looked improved in 2024 based on my film study
and leaping ability to dominate contested catches
He’s not quite there yet – but he’s getting better
Harris converted just 46.2% of his contested opportunities across his first four college seasons but posted a career-best 61.5% conversion rate in 2024
He has strong hands and impressive body control to contort and make grabs outside his numbers
And he's clearly comfortable making plays in traffic
Harris fends off his defender and then contorts his body at the last second to haul in this back-shoulder throw
Here's another example of Harris thriving in contact
Harris operated in Lane Kiffin’s spread offense at Ole Miss and didn't run a wide variety of routes
Those figure to be his best routes as a pro
allowing him to use his size and build-up speed
It’s fair to question whether Harris has the agility
But it's worth noting that he destroyed man coverage the last two seasons
Harris averaged an absurd 10.5 yards per route and earned a 95.0 PFF receiving grade against man coverage in 2024
he ranked 18th out of 288 WRs in yards per route vs
Harris landed in a great spot: A Chargers team with an excellent
QB Justin Herbert has one of the biggest arms in the league — and the accuracy to match
Here's where he ranked last year in passes 20+ yards downfield:
Herbert will maximize Harris' big-play ability
Ladd McConkey is established as a big part of the passing game
but he ran 70% of his routes from the slot last year
Harris will compete for snaps with WRs Quentin Johnston and Mike Williams
Johnston was better last season than he was as a rookie
but he still ranked just 44th in yards per route and 59th in PFF receiving grade among 88 qualifying WRs
caught just 21 balls across two different teams last year
He could be better another year removed from his torn ACL
The Athletic's Daniel Popper is already projecting Harris to win a starting job this season
He posted three seasons of strong market shares
averaged a historic 5.12 yards per route in 2024
and earned a perfect 99.9 PFF deep receiving grade in each of the last two years
with Nico Collins-esque after-catch ability
and he still needs work on ball tracking and contested catches
and it’s fair to question how quickly that can happen
in a 2025 rookie class with few sure WR studs
Harris' long-term dynasty upside stands out — particularly alongside QB Justin Herbert
Harris could provide dynasty teams with WR2 production and WR1 spike weeks

PFF’s Fantasy Football Player Profile series delivers the most in-depth fantasy football analysis available for the 2025 season
competition for touches and how teammates and coaching staffs will impact each player's fantasy football outlook
he was part of a four-man rotation over the first seven weeks before a hip and groin injury cut short his season
He tried to return later in the season but only made one more reception
Harris started the year completely dominating in non-conference play
His PFF receiving grade took a noteworthy dip against SEC play
but he still gained at least 80 receiving yards in his three complete games
including that he “does well to get vertical” and “he can keep a defense honest with his field-stretching ability.”
Palmer was the Chargers' closest thing to a deep threat last year
While it’s not common for a player to play X in a base offense and Z in three receiver sets
it’s possible Harris can beat out both Johnston and Williams for base snaps
Harris’ fantasy value could be dependent on his ability to diversify his route tree. Our draft guide compared him to Alec Pierce
a wide receiver with a high average depth of target but low target rate
who can keep the defense honest and make life easier for the underneath receivers
Pierce and receivers like him have minimal fantasy value
because they’ll have three or four games per season where they make multiple deep catches and have a big week but have minimal fantasy impact the rest of the weeks
Harris may have that kind of role in Los Angeles’ offense
Harris could potentially reach a 20% target rate and be a weekly fantasy starter
and it’s possible Harris could fill a similar role
Harris will benefit from catching passes from Justin Herbert
He threw the ball deep more often last season than in past years
which led to the second-most deep passing yards and a tie for the most deep passing touchdowns
He accomplished this without a wide receiver ranked top 20 in deep receiving yards
Harris will allow Herbert to throw even more
giving Harris a decent chance of finishing among the top-20 wide receivers in deep receiving yards
He’s very likely to make an impact on the Los Angeles offense as a rookie
but he will need to catch both short and deep passes in order to become a fantasy starter
selected Ole Miss pass catcher Tre Harris with the 56th pick in the NFL draft
While Charger fans should be celebrating their new weapon for Justin Herbert
it could also slam the door on a reunion with one of their most beloved former players
Allen has definitely made it known that he is either playing with the Bears or the Chargers next season
This sparked all sorts of speculation about the Chargers making a move -- but they didn't
If the Chargers wait until after the 2025 NFL Draft to grab Allen
then he does not count toward the compensatory pick formula for next year

KYRON SAMUELS
At 6'2", 205 pounds, Harris ran a 4.54 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, not slow but definitely not a burner. His Next Gen Stat 'Athleticism' score ranked him 27th overall for wideouts
does set him apart which is evident in the grades roundup below: Harris is extremely productive

"Los Angeles finally gets another pass catcher for Justin Herbert after bringing in North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton in the first round. Harris profiles as a potential X-receiver in the NFL, which complements Ladd McConkey well." -- Chris Trapasso Grade: B+
"This was a move the Chargers needed to make, although you might be a little surprised they actually did with Jim Harbaugh as head coach. Harris gives Justin Herbert a quality threat and further improves the overall offense. The only question: Was he a better choice than Jaylin Noel at this spot?" -- Nick Baumgartner Grade: B+

The pandemic stalled Caldwell’s career as he was slated to go to Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College but suddenly was taken off of scholarship as an out-of-state student

Caldwell flashed his pass-rushing potential with 6½ sacks in 2023 then transferred to Oregon in 2024

“Just somebody that loves football,” Caldwell said. “From a juco guy — you can ask a lot of juco guys in the league as well — it’s either football or nothing for us.”
Caldwell already experienced a life without football. After his scholarship was pulled at Hutchinson during the pandemic, he was unable to afford classes without financial aid. So he stayed at home in Newberry, S.C., and helped his mother run a catering business. Waking up early in the morning, he served as her sous chef as they catered events from weddings to funerals out of their home.
He proudly reported she’ll soon open a brick-and-mortar soul food restaurant.

With questions surrounding his level of competition
Harris would transfer to Ole Miss for his final two seasons
catching 54 passes for 985 yards and seven touchdowns
where he unfortunately suffered a groin injury
Harris would only play in eight games on the year but was fantastic in them
the metric is seen to be very predictive of future success

I expect Harris to be a mid-second round in the 2025 NFL Draft
Harris has cemented himself as one of the top outside receivers in this class
these types of players tend to go higher than slot receivers in the draft
NFL Mock Draft Database agrees with my assessment
The community has Harris with a rank of 57th overall (second round)
Harris is the WR12 in my 2025 dynasty rookie rankings
As I dive even deeper into Harris’s profile
There are just quite a few receivers that I’m a fan of in this class
This places Harris as the 26th-ranked player in a Superflex format and 25th in a 1QB league
The Chargers are hoping to strike gold with a Round 2 wide receiver for the second year in a row
The Bolts selected Mississippi wide receiver Tre Harris with the No
55 overall pick in Round 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft
a move that gives Justin Herbert another weapon in the passing game
Ladd McConkey — a 2024 second-round pick — was stellar in Year 1 as he set Chargers single-season rookie records with 82 catches for 1,149 yards
Quentin Johnston took a sizable step in Year 2
and reuniting with Mike Williams in free agency gives the Bolts a veteran presence as an outside receiver
Chargers General Manager Joe Hortiz has been aggressive in adding pieces to surround Herbert with as much talent as possible
Harris should give the Bolts a boost right away
especially with his size and frame of 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds
He averaged a whopping 17.2 yards per catch in 2024
Take a look through some photos of the Chargers selection at No.55 in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Wide Receiver Tre Harris from the University of Mississippi

He should be able to learn under Williams in 2025 and could turn into one of Herbert's favorite targets on the outside and down the field if he reaches his potential
Harris was a Second-Team All-American in 2024 after leading the team in receptions (60)
receiving yards (1,030) and ranking second in receiving touchdowns (7)
The receiver finished his Ole Miss career with 2,015 yards and 15 touchdowns on 114 receptions in 20 games
becoming one of two in SEC history to average 100 yards per game across a career (103.3 per game)
Harris won't be asked to be the Chargers No
But McConkey developed a quick rapport with Herbert in 2024 and proved that some rookies can make an immediate impact at wide receiver right away
Harris now has the potential to do the same and develop into a vital piece of the Chargers offensive puzzle
The Chargers 2025 schedule will be released May 14

The Chargers star safety was also awarded an honorary degree from the school

was on an absolute tear before suffering an injury in 2024
He led all wide receivers with one of the best yards per route run marks you will ever see at 5.12

While McConkey will keep cooking defenders on the inside
Harris will take the top off the defense and be on the other end of Justin Herbert's rocket launcher of an arm
When Jaxson Dart loaded up to launch it deep
it was pretty much always Harris on the other side of it
He finished his final season averaging a whopping 128.8 receiving yards per game
posting 1,030 yards and 7 touchdowns in only eight games played
He's a premier deep threat that fits the exact archetype that the Chargers were lacking
the Chargers are now set to roll out what looks to be a very complete offense on paper
the Chargers are building a very respectable offensive unit

caught 60 passes last year for 1,030 yards and seven scores
his third straight season averaging at least 14 yards per catch with at least seven touchdowns
The owner of a 4.54-second time in the 40-yard dash
Harris is a slant and go-route threat who can help space the offense for Ladd McConkey
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein wrote the following
concluding that Harris can eventually be a “plus starter” in the pros:
“Size/speed wideout who returned to school in 2024 and improved his game heading into this year’s draft
He’s primarily a first- and third-level target
mixing a barrage of hitches and slants with go routes and posts
He’s fast enough to win over the top and talented with the ball in his hands to stretch short throws into longer yardage
His route-running and contested-catch success both took an upturn but they still need work at the pro level
Of greater concern might be a second consecutive season of time missed due to injury
Harris might be capable of expanding his route tree a bit
but he looks locked in as an “X” receiver with big-game potential and a future home as a WR2.”

The arrival of Harris does a few interesting things
he’ll be in the mix to push Quentin Johnston for playing time
It could also slam the door on the suspicion from fans that the team could still reunite with Keenan Allen
the pick is a good value for a Chargers team who could’ve easily considered another trade up in Round 2 for a wideout
the Chargers keep their picks and get Harris
who can contribute as a rookie and possibly form a dynamic duo with McConkey for a long

The Unpacking Future Packers Countdown is a countdown of 100 prospects who the Green Bay Packers could select in the 2025 NFL draft
The Green Bay Packers haven't taken a wide receiver in the first round since 2002
when they selected Javon Walker with the 20th overall pick
he could also be added to that impressive group
18 in the Unpacking Future Packers Countdown
Harris hauled in 54 receptions for 985 yards and eight touchdowns during his first season with the Rebels in 2023
Harris played in just eight games and recorded 60 receptions for 1,030 yards and seven touchdowns
"Harris was on pace to set a lot of conference records had he not been injured," Micahel Katz
the Ole Miss beat writer for the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal
"I think he would have been a first-team All-American
He really only played six whole games and was still among the SEC leaders in all major categories
His presence was especially missed in games where the Rebels thought he would be able to play the whole game but left due to the injury — LSU and Florida
Harris was dominating in those games but left early
The offense was completely thrown off in having to change the plan
because they were so reliant on his playmaking
The offense actually worked really well in games they knew they wouldn't have him — Arkansas
But in games Harris played in and left early
The Ole Miss wide receiver's calling card is his ability to win downfield
205 pounds) and quickness (4.54 40-yard dash)
he consistently was able to find a second gear to create late separation on vertical routes and he tracks the ball well
showcasing the ability to finish over cornerbacks
He has strong hands and good hand-eye coordination
Harris does a nice job of selling double moves
He outmuscles defensive backs at the catch point and has outstanding body control
Harris made a killing on vertical routes and hitches at Ole Miss
His route tree doesn't have a ton of branches and that will be part of his game that's a bit of an unknown
"I would say Harris' biggest strength is his ability to win one-on-one
whether that's via separation or his body control," Katz said
"I know his speed was brought up a lot in the offseason
but his 4.54 seems perfectly fine for someone of his size
He always had separation deep down the field and was a dynamic deep threat — his yards per catch has always been impressive
and a lot of that was long passes from Jaxson Dart
But he also had a way of winning 50-50 balls with his size and strength."
Harris is a physical runner after the catch and can be difficult to get down on initial contact
He has the strength to run through armed tackles
Harris racked up 462 yards after the catch
His combination of strength and quickness can lead to him turning short throws into chunk plays
"Harris is very strong and has great balance," Katz said
"He's also just a competitor with the ball in his hands
He seems to take a lot of pride in his ability to gain extra yardage
His touchdown to beat LSU a couple of years ago was a great example of that
He's also quicker than you might think and can make people miss early as well
The Rebels used him on a lot of short hitches
knowing he was going to get more yardage than the initial throw would indicate."
Harris has the tools readily available to be a stalk blocker out on the edges
"Harris always struck me as a guy willing to do whatever it took to get his team in the end zone
whether it was doing it himself or helping out," Katz said
"His size seems to indicate someone who could be a very good run blocker."
Given the state of Green Bay's wide receiver room
it would not be surprising if Gutekunst added a pair of wide receivers to the mix during the draft
While he's not a burner or explosive athlete like Christian Watson
he has a knack for creating late separation downfield and finishing plays due to his tracking ability and strong hands
He's able to turn 50-50 balls into 75-25 balls
"You can say whatever you want about a supposed lack of elite speed
but Harris was always open in the toughest conference in college football
He's a really smart player who has honed his craft tremendously in the last few years; he was a quarterback in high school who learned how to be a wide receiver in college
I think his knowledge as a quarterback gives him an advantage
because he seems to know exactly where to be
Harris was the top option on what was one of the best passing offenses in the nation last year
odds are he is going to find a way to haul it in
whether it's him being open by five yards or winning a contested catch
It's always hard to predict how guys will transition to the NFL
but at the very least I think there's a place for him to make an impact."
Harris has all the tools to turn into the alpha that Green Bay's wide receiver room needs
Reed is a dynamic playmaker and he'd pair well with Harris' physical nature and ability to win downfield and in contested catch situations
but if he's still on the board in the third round
he could join Jones as the next great third-round wide receiver for the Packers
but he still had 60 catches for a career-high 1,030 yards with seven touchdowns
He made the USA TODAY All-SEC team and was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press
The receiver is one of the players the Dolphins should consider in April's NFL draft
Here's a look at how Harris performed at the NFL combine:
Tre Harris ran an unofficial 4.54 in the 40-yard dash with a 1.56-second 10-yard split
His time was 15th-best among 19 wide receivers participating
Tre Harris combine resultsTre Harris' 38.50-inch vertical jump was tied for fourth-best among 18 wide receivers
It was tied for 18th-best among all players at the combine
Harris did not take part in all the position workouts
including the gauntlet drill and routes with the quarterback prospects
Tre Harris is projected by USA TODAY as a top-50 player in April's NFL draft
He is expected to be a mid-round draft pick
Explosive Play Rating (EPX) is a comprehensive rating of a player's explosiveness
factoring in per-play efficiency and total volume of explosive plays created
EPX is scaled so 100 is league-average at each position and blends passing
and receiving according to each player's usage
Pass plays over 20 yards or rush plays over 10 yards are considered explosive

something that seemed unfathoable just a few years ago when the team had traded multiple first round selections to build their roster into one that went on to win the Super Bowl in Los Angeles four years ago
As one of the best draft and develop teams in the league
the Rams will be searching for their successor to replace former star slot receiver Cooper Kupp
While they did sign Davante Adams and Tutu Atwell to two and one-year deals
the search has kept on and it will continue to do so in this year's NFL Draft
Ole Miss Rebels wide receiver Tre Harris could be a potential target for Los Angeles
Harris originally started his collegiate career in Conference USA's Louisiana Tech
being named first-team all-conference in 2022 before transferring to Oxford
where he would be named first-team All-SEC in his redshirt senior season
Let's take a closer look at what Harris could bring to the table at the next level
Harris features the prototypical frame to be a suited fit as a potential X or Z receiver
He used this frame to his advantage at the catch point
and as the profile to be a capable blocker on the perimeter
Harris' strengths like in his ball skills where he offers strong hands at the high point
playing with quality body control and length to extend and assert himself aggressively to make tough catches
He would be a quarterback's dream player with how he catches the rock at times
Despite a limited route tree in Ole Miss' Mickey Mouse offense
Harris' route running ability and salesmanship in his routes are effective
He knows how to attack leverage and angles while being able to stem defenders with vertical explosion and hip sinkage to break at the top of routes
and is at his best when he is able to have vertical plane freedom to work back to the ball
Harris will need time to grow as a playmaker due to how he was asked to play in Oxford
His release packages need more tuning and tools to work with to take advantage of his physical profile
he will have to expand his route tree at the next level as this will require even more tuning
This is a player who does not possess an elite athletic profile that will consistently win based on it
Harris is not overly dynamic nor is he twitchy in space
His long speed is sufficient but not great and lacks the short-area explosiveness to win after the catch consistently
If there is one system that could take advantage of Harris' physical profile
Harris projects as a future starting perimeter wide receiver who will likely begin his career as a big slot to help ease his transition at the next level
He has the upside to become a nice target in an NFL passing game and if he can expand his overall route tree and consistency
he could play eight to 10-plus years in the NFL
Harris fits nicely as the succesor to Kupp in the slot but also as one to Adams when he decides to hang the cleats up
The Rams may have to trade down to utilize draft capital on the standout Ole Miss playmaker
but it will be something that could help the offense in the long-term

Mykel Williams - or maybe a wild-card edge like Mike Green from Marshall
The Panthers might also decide to trade down from that spot, which could put a whole new slew of prospects in their range with their first pick. If that happens on name to keep an eye on is Ole Miss wide receiver Tre Harris. Bleacher Report has linked him to Carolina as his best possible fit in fantasy football
Harris is another receiver who's tailor-made for playing the boundary in the NFL
He's a sure-handed pass catcher capable of racking up yards after the catch
although injuries were an issue for him in college
1 wide receiver for the Panthers in relatively short order."
but aside from Adam Thielen (who's on the verge of retiring) he won't get a whole lot of competition for that WR1 role from the receivers currently on Carolina's roster
The Panthers have to hope that Xavier Legette will take a huge step forward in 2025 - because if he doesn't he'll be well on his way to earning a huge first-round bust label
one of too many for this franchise in recent years
Jalen Coker might actually be the second-best receiver on the team right now - but he's still mostly unproven
That means there's plenty of room for a guy like Harris to come in and rise fast. Harris was pretty productive at the college level, totaling 220 catches, 29 touchdowns and over 3,500 yards between three years at Louisiana Tech and two seasons at Ole Miss
Carolina fans may be leery of Harris based on what happened with the last Mississippi wide receiver they drafted
2023 second-round selection Jonathan Mingo is now with the Dallas Cowboys and has played 32 games at this level and still has zero touchdowns
Harris has earned high marks for his work in the intermediate and deep part of the fields and seems to have a strong clutch gene
Harris is projected to be a late second-round pick

but it was getting overlooked because they were winning games
Mahomes would be the first to say that the team does a good job of getting the right players in place
but we all know if they have an above-average playmaker at the wide receiver position
this offense would look a whole lot different
Mahomes needs guys on the outside to make plays for him as he gets them the ball
Mahomes did not have the full core of wide receivers he or the team would of liked to have on the field
One player that stepped up tremendously was rookie receiver Xavier Worthy
Worthy had to become the number one receiver and he answered the call
Worthy is a speedy receiver who can stretch the field for the offense. And the Chiefs moved up to get him in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Now they can select around talented receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft and it does not have to be in the first round
The Chiefs can pick up talented receiver Tre Harris out of Ole Miss in the second round of the draft
He would bring the Chiefs a receiver who can win the 50/50 balls and
he can be a solid receiver on short passes or intermediate passes
"His route-running and contested-catch success both took an upturn
but he looks locked in as an “X” receiver with big-game potential and a future home as a WR2."

MICHAEL CANELO
and next up is Mississippi perimeter man Tre Harris
Harris began his collegiate career with Louisiana Tech
earning First Team All-Conference USA honors in 2022 before entering the transfer portal and taking his talents to Ole Miss
He produced 985 yards and eight touchdowns in his first season with the Rebels
and his 2024 totals would have been eye-popping had he not missed four games due to hip and groin ailments
The talented perimeter man graded well in his final collegiate season
ranking second at his position (minimum 70 targets) based on PFF data
Harris was also at the top of the list in NFL Passer Rating When Targeted
and I have him coming off the board later in Round 2 or into the start of Round 3
The Texans need a wide receiver with Tank Dell out for the season
so Harris could come right in and compete to start alongside Nico Collins
The Browns have needs almost everywhere on the offensive side
and Harris could be a target if they don’t add a wideout in one of their first two picks
The Saints have wide receiver depth on the surface, but Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed have injury concerns and Brandin Cooks is past his prime. New Orleans has also been tied to Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart at No
and the Cardinals could look to grab Harris as the No
2 wide receiver alongside Marvin Harrison Jr
The New Orleans Saints have had a decently long list of formal meetings with 2025 NFL draft prospects
including some of the best of the best at many positions
As they continue to do their due diligence on the class
giving both the front office and new coaching staff all the information they need to make informed decisions
they have had another meeting to gather info
The most recent meeting reported for the Saints was with Ole Miss wide receiver Tre Harris, as was reported by Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network
The Saints are the only team from the NFC South on the list of teams with formal meetings
and one of only four NFC teams overall as well
in addition to three of the four NFC West teams
producing 25 touchdowns in the last three seasons on 179 receptions (13.97% touchdown percentage)
the last two seasons have been high-quality for him
producing 1,030 receiving yards on 60 targets in 2024
Harris did play eight games this season too
so these statistics could have been even further improved given a few more games
he was dealing with a re-aggravated groin injury in November and at various points throughout the season
which led to him missing the other few games
and with the Saints needing additional wide receiver help
the CFF – with support from UK Government – were able to fund the installation of a new changing block that will act as a hub for home and away teams alongside match officials on match days
“Having grown up in the valleys it’s great to see that children falling in love with the game will do so in the best environment within their local community.”

we hope to scout and create profiles for as many prospects as possible
and what they can bring to an NFL franchise
These players could be potential top-10 picks
all the way down to Day 3 selections and priority undrafted free agents
a scouting report on Ole Miss WR Tre Harris
Ole Miss WR Tre Harris was on a tear to start the 2024 season
going over 100 yards receiving in five of seven games before suffering a groin injury that caused him to miss over a month
He returned for one game but re-aggravated the injury and missed the rest of the season
Harris was dominating as the nation’s leading receiver prior to the injury
210-pound redshirt senior finished the 2023 campaign with
athletic playmaker who can win in various ways
and leaping ability make him an ideal jump ball specialist
routinely winning matchups in the air for the football over opposing defensive backs
Check out the clip below of Harris taking the defensive back of Texas A&M vertical up the sideline in the red zone
making the catch over the defender’s shoulder in the back of the end zone for the score
Harris works to get vertical up the sideline on the cornerback
leaping up into the air to catch the back shoulder throw from QB Jaxson Dart over the defensive back for the first down
Harris says he got his toughness from his father
and that toughness shows up on tape in combative catch situations
Watch below as Harris gets a free release on the defender and gets open down the sideline
so Harris makes his way back to the football
Harris elevates into the air to make the catch overtop two Aggies’ defenders to complete the catch and the explosive play
we see Harris win off the line of scrimmage with an outside release and get vertical on the defender
tracking the ball perfectly and making the catch over the shoulder for the explosive play
As you can see in the clip above, Harris does a great job on his vertical releases and generates separation between himself and the defender tasked with covering him. Harris posted the highest target rate against man coverage of any receiver in this draft class
Watch the clip below as Harris works up the sideline on an outside release
He makes an incredible one-hand catch in traffic against the defender along the sideline
getting his feet down in-bounds to complete the spectacular play
but he is also a strong route runner for his size who gets out of his breaks quickly to get open on short and intermediate routes
Check out the plays below of Harris quickly dropping his hips and jabbing the ground with his foot before breaking into his route to make the catch and pick up first-down yardage
Harris also has some shake after the catch and is a YAC specialist
having the burst to pull away from defenders and the wiggle to make guys miss in space
Check out this clip below of Harris catching the screen pass at the bottom of your screen as he jukes out one defender while picking up a block from his teammate to get into the end zone for the score against LSU
but he isn’t likely to light the 40-yard dash on fire or wow with incredible stop/start quickness
Harris also suffers from the occasional focus drop as well
but he needs to do a better job seeing the ball into his hands to complete the process of the catch
Tre Harris is a playmaking machine that thrives in downfield and red zone situations but also has shown a propensity to be a quality target on the intermediate for his quarterback
He possesses sneaky quickness and acceleration
making him a dangerous YAC threat with the ball in his hands down the field after the catch or if he gets into space
He will be challenged more by NFL quality cornerbacks
and tenacity to hold his own as a WR2 in an offense with the talent to grow into a WR1
I like Harris’ game similar to that of Nico Collins of the Houston Texans: a big-bodied pass catcher who wins vertically down the field and in the red zone but also is dangerous after the catch and possesses underrated quickness to uncover on shorter routes
Collins is a bit bigger than Harris physically
as Collins took a couple of years of seasoning before becoming the receiver he is today
The Pittsburgh Steelers could use a quality pass catcher to add to their WR corps
regardless of whether WR George Pickens is in the equation or not in 2025
Harris would be a great pickup as a guy they can start across from Pickens with a similar frame and skill set
He does the little things better coming out of college to make him a more well-rounded prospect

showcasing explosive playmaking ability and consistent yardage gains
and deep-threat upside makes him an intriguing prospect with a skill set reminiscent of Nico Collins
Harris had a progressive career over four seasons between Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss
Despite catching 220 passes for his career with 3,532 yards and 29 touchdowns
he never caught more than 65 passes in a year
His receiving yards improved each season (562
and 1,030) while showing more explosiveness with the Rebels (18.2 and 17.2 yards per catch)
He missed five games last season with a groin injury
Tre Harris Ranked 1st in the NATION in Receiving Yards Per Game (128.8)..Before his injury Vs. LSU he was Averaging:➖10.4 Targets (6th in CFB)➖8.4 Receptions (2nd in CFB)➖1.0 Receiving TD’s (3rd in CFB)Dudes 6’2, 205 lbs and was ALSO 1st in Yards Per Route Run.. (5.12) pic.twitter.com/JKbPbDI6wT
Harris gained over 100 yards in five matchups (6/133/4
His season started last year with an impressive run over seven games (8/179/2
The development of Harris last year paints a much higher profile than initially expected
He brings size (6’2” and 205 lbs.) to the wide receiver position while making many deep catches in 2024 despite not having elite speed (4.54 40-yard dash)
The volume of his long catches with Ole Miss will be unattainable at the next level due to better cornerbacks and a shorter passing window
Harris runs with purpose with the ball in his hands
helping his ability to turn short catches into first downs
He must improve his win rate when challenged in tight catch quarters
He enters this year’s draft class at age 23 with some missed time over the last two seasons with injuries
My mental image of his game is based on how Nico Collins was utilized by the Texans in 2023
The question to be answered is: can his new NFL team and quarterback get him the ball at the third level of the defense
his fantasy stats will likely be much higher in his rookie campaign
as Harris should also receive plenty of catches to move the chains
Think Keon Coleman with more college experience

quarterback rumors are now fully ablaze.
One of those needs is at the wide receiver position
and Brandin Cooks are a trio of explosive playmakers
New Orleans has lacked a physical intermediate weapon since the decline of Michael Thomas
the Saints got next to no production from their wideouts after Olave
and Bub Means were lost for the year before midseason.
Arizona playmaker Tetairoa McMillan has been linked to the Saints by some in the first round
With quarterback and other needs more pressing
it seems likely that New Orleans waits on a receiver
If they target one in Day 2, this SEC playmaker and local product could wind up in their crosshairs

A star quarterback for Ovey Comeaux High School in Lafayette
Harris committed to Louisiana Tech as a wide receiver
He'd catch just one pass in seven games of limited time as a freshman during the 2020 season.
Harris caught 40 passes for 562 yards and 4 touchdowns
finishing second on the team in all three categories
His 65 receptions for 935 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2022 led the Bulldogs in each stat
leading to 1st Team All-Conference USA honors
In his first season with the Rebels in 2023, Harris had a team-high 985 yards and 8 touchdowns on 54 receptions. He'd follow that up by leading Ole Miss with 60 catches and 1,030 yards in 2024

Harris played 18 games for Mississippi over two years
He ended his Rebels career with 114 receptions
Harris possesses good size with extremely underrated athletic ability
he'll need to do a better job of consistently using his physicality and athleticism on the field
Harris has sometimes had trouble getting a clean release off the line of scrimmage against a physical press
He can also be knocked off balance during his pattern by physical defenders
lacks an explosive burst for separation.

Harris must sharpen his breaks and prove he can handle expanded assignments
He wasn't asked to run a big route tree in college and would tend to round off his breaks.
Harris does manage to get separation with savvy fakes and agility
He'll set up defenders for fakes like a seasoned pro and shows an excellent understanding of zone coverages and where to find open space
Harris is one of the best in-air ball trackers in this class
and pulls in the pass away from his body with extremely reliable hands
His outstanding leaping ability allows him to high-point throws
giving his quarterback a big margin for error

Harris is extremely elusive in the open field
He shows terrific vision as a runner and is a viable weapon on screens and quick throws
a sometimes lost art at the wide receiver position.
Tre Harris is an almost sure Day 2 pick that could be selected as early as midway through the second round
He has an ideal physical build to be a starting wideout
with the athletic ability and ball skills to be productive at all three levels.
Harris possesses what they've lacked for years
He should be an immediate contributor and has the traits to excel as an intermediate target.
Tre Harris boasted solid size and athleticism at the NFL combine that make him one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft
Tre Harris was wildly productive in the 8 games he played this season
Harris shared that he was fully healthy and excited to run his the 40-yard dash
While his time of 4o time of 4.54 won’t blow anyone today compared to the other speedsters in this years class
he still earned a 65th percentile speed score with his size coming in at 6’2″
Harris also participated in the jumping drills and displayed great explosiveness (38.5″ vertical
10’5″ broad jump.) He chose not to participate in the on-field workout or any other drills
Harris remains a top receiver prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft and was even proclaimed by his College QB Jaxson Dart as the best WR in this draft
Look for Harris to go in the top 60 picks of the draft and to see his stock rise accordingly

Ole Miss Rebels wide receiver Tre Harris is a physical height/weight/speed combination on the perimeter who thrives tracking the football and winning down the field
Harris has effective physicality at the line of scrimmage
some crafty double moves to create false steps on the perimeter
and the desired ball skills to go airborne and attack the football at its highest point
The Ole Miss offense hasn’t necessarily cultivated a complete skill set at the wide receiver position
Harris lacks the kind of short-area agility and quickness to thrive running certain hard-angled routes
his size and linear explosiveness will play well as a vertical threat in an NFL passing offense
he’ll have the chance to further develop his ability to play through press and win on in-breakers into the teeth of the defense.
and played high school football for Ovey Comeaux HS
he was a standout two-sport athlete who played basketball and football — and played quarterback for the program
Harris committed to play as a wide receiver and enrolled at Louisiana Tech as a member of the 2020 recruiting class.
Harris played in 7 games as a true freshman during the COVID-19 college season while retaining his first year of eligibility and emerged as a starter for the program in 2021
He was named First Team All-Conference USA in 2022 before entering the transfer portal and committing to play for Ole Miss as a 4-star transfer
He set a program single-game record with four receiving touchdowns in his first game with the Rebels
He enjoyed two successful and productive seasons with the Rebels, including being named First Team All-SEC in 2024 despite missing time with a hip/groin injury
The injury cost Harris four full games and portions of two others
including a reaggravation against Florida in the regular season finale.
Harris is an explosive play down the field waiting to happen
On instances in which he’s granted a free release off the line of scrimmage
he is capable of overwhelming flat-footed coverage and working behind safeties
He pairs this burst off the line of scrimmage with good hand usage inside the contact window to create space for himself on slants and hitches
That’s the vast majority of his route role at Ole Miss — 60 percent of his routes were go/fade
but his strides on open grass will eat up a lot of distance and
when paired with how well he fights with his hands
yield consistent results stacking down the field.
It is easy to love how he addresses and attacks the football on targets
He does not allow defenders to creep back into his hip when he’s stacked on the outside and works back to the football on his static hitches and his runaway slants
He is a capable accuracy eraser who showcases good extension skills and body control to open his frame back to back shoulder throws or extend on errant passes that test the fringes of his catch radius
Harris has showcased good concentration in these instances and has won through contact at the catch point.
He’s dynamic enough to live in this role early on
but route development will be the key to unlocking a more profound and capable player
This isn’t a DK Metcalf-level talent with dominant size or hyper-explosive speed
so he’s likely facing growth or a ceiling on his profile as a player
He’s also lacking a second level of short area twitch and agility and his foot speed to release with agility is modest
affording him a prolonged window in the contact area to firmly set hands on his frame and squeeze him to the sideline.
one area of growth that feels like low-hanging fruit is embracing his role in the run game
Ole Miss often spaced receivers out to create more grass on their inside run game
but he’s been given opportunities to press down on nickel corners or safeties and help create 1s-on-1s on the perimeter
He can selectively showcase good functional strength and pad pop in these reps but does not play with great urgency to seal and plaster defenders
His reps with corners blocking 1-on-1 in space show good length and some nice hand strength but would be aided by more strain to frame and seal for his back.
Another item that should be high on Harris’ development plan is his release packages
Because of his foot speed and lack of initial burst
he’ll need to add variety in his ability to set up and beat corners off the line against heavy press
but he’s not an overly appealing long-term slot option (he has less than 150 snaps here in five seasons)
If Harris can add more proficient releases to win leverage early
it would greatly benefit his consistency as a reliable option.
Harris projects best as a big-bodied Z-receiver in the NFL
and although he possesses the physicality to play through press as an X-receiver
his ability to play through contact at the top of routes in isolation will need to see his route running improved
Harris can ultimately develop into an isolation X receiver
his impact is likely to come with more room to work off the line of scrimmage and attack teams vertically.

More 2025 NFL Draft Profiles
Tre Harris is an intriguing wide receiver prospect who spent three seasons of his collegiate career at Louisiana Tech before transferring for his final two years of eligibility at Ole Miss
He projects as a boundary WR at the next level
and playing for Lane Kiffin helped Harris blossom into a Second Team All-American
While Harris does need some polishing in several areas
the rest of his player profile is impressive
His work ethic and football awareness are top-notch
and he’s very good at moving the chains and in the red zone
These traits should allow him to see the field early in his career and help him be an impact performer in year one
The bottom line on Harris is that he’s an intelligent football player with plenty of experience
he does have many positive traits to build on as he gets accustomed to life in the league
you see a player who can step into almost any offense and be effective with his strong hands and good size
He must quickly improve in running a more polished route tree
and this should come with solid coaching in the NFL
Harris has shown that he’s consistently improving
This trend will likely continue as a professional and could help boost his draft stock as it comes into focus
the former Rebel could develop into an adequate WR2 sooner rather than later for the team that drafts him

2025 NFL DraftTre Harris' 3 Best NFL Draft FitsPetre Thomas-Imagn Imagesby Justin Melo Mar 28, 2025 • 10:00 amOle Miss wide receiver Tre Harris will be present at his Pro Day on Friday
It represents a terrific opportunity for the Rebels standout to improve some of his numbers from the NFL Combine
Harris ran a middling 4.54 and declined opportunities to participate in agility (three-cone and shuttle) and bench press drills
The No. 65 overall prospect in our latest Draft Network 100 update, Harris is among the highest upside receivers available in the 2025 NFL Draft
Louisiana native recorded 60 receptions for 1,030 receiving yards and seven touchdowns this season despite missing five games with a lower-body injury
He averaged an explosive 17.2 yards per catch
Harris’ per-game average indicates he would have finished with merely 1,700 receiving yards had he been healthy all season long
205-pound playmaker physically dominates cornerbacks at the catch point
We've identified three potential team fits for Harris in the 2025 NFL Draft
Harris would fill the "X" role in Brian Callahan's offense
Callahan has always appreciated a receiver with Harris' measurements and skill set. He previously had Tee Higgins in Cincinnati and DeAndre Hopkins in Tennessee
Harris is a massive red-zone threat with a large catch radius that is dominant in contested catch situations
Diggs is coming off a down season that ended with a torn ACL
The upcoming Patriots draft needs to focus on surrounding Drake Maye with weapons. If New England doesn't draft Travis Hunter at No
wide receiver must be their highest priority at No
Harris would immediately play a sizable role in Vrabel's offense
Harris could be a target for head coach Kevin Stefanski at No
general manager Brad Holmes could be searching this year's draft class for a young wideout to add to the mix
Detroit has other needs that may be more pressing
so the wide receiver position could be an area the team targets on the second day of the draft
One potential option that could fit Detroit's style is Ole Miss wide receiver Tre Harris
Harris transferred to play for the Rebels and head coach Lane Kiffin in 2023 after a 935-yard season for the Bulldogs
His two campaigns playing for Ole Miss were fruitful
as he totaled 2,015 yards and 15 touchdowns in that span
For the Lions, a big decision looms in whether or not to re-sign veteran Tim Patrick
Signed to the practice squad at the conclusion of training camp
Patrick worked his way onto the active roster quickly and wound up playing a pivotal role as the team's third option behind Amon-Ra St
so there are questions about how his production will hold up with age
investing in young depth would be wise with St
Brown already on a hefty new contract and Williams potentially on the brink of one
Harris fits the Lions' mold with his size
as he measured 6-foot-2 and ran a 4.54 40-yard dash
His play style also suggests he'd fit nicely in Detroit
as Pro Football Focus gave him a 76.1 grade for his performance as a run blocker
He could be a X receiver at the professional level
he caught eight of 13 contested catch attempts last season for the Rebels
Harris did struggle with injuries over the last two seasons
Harris was limited to eight games by a groin injury
He tried to return late in the year but left the Week 13 game against Florida after re-aggravating it
he managed to tally 60 catches for 1,030 yards in eight games
Currently, Harris is considered to be a second-round pick when the draft begins in April. Time will tell if he falls to the Lions' 60th overall selection
as the overall evaluation of him will be more complete following Ole Miss' Pro Day
The Lions have targeted the SEC plenty during Brad Holmes' tenure as general manager
and Harris could be the next option in the pipeline
