A NEW hotel will open its doors in Glasgow next year - and it could be the first of its kind in Scotland.
International chain Yotel will transform The Westergate building on Argyle Street into luxury accommodation, set with a bowling alley for its visitors.
Glasgow City Council have already granted planning permission for the project, which is set to accommodate 254 guests.
The hotel will bring hundreds of jobs to Glasgow locals.
One of the planning documents reads: "The proposals constitute sustainable economic development, securing investment and jobs, while bring a prominent vacant property back into use to the benefit of the City Centre.
"The hotel is expected to generate an estimated 100 jobs.
"Employment associated with the cafe bar and restaurant would be in addition to this number."
The hotel will also feature a gym, a rooftop bar, and a restaurant.
And although it's set to open as soon as 2019, the company have announced a full refurbishment plan to take place on the existing building in the coming year.
The company plan to replace the building's glazing, as well as create a feature entrance for the hotel on Hope Street and a roof terrace on the seventh floor.
This comes after the company announced a $250 million investment made by Starwood Capital Group would go towards extending their hotels around the world.
The funds are set to focus on new hotels across Europe, North America and Asia.
And the company have even more plans for Scotland, with a branch in Edinburgh set to open at around the same time as the Glasgow development.
Hubert Viriot, CEO of Yotel said: “Yotel is growing rapidly with 15 hotels currently at various stages of development."
"We look forward to leveraging Starwood’s investment, design, operational and technological expertise to expand our platform, attract talent and enter additional markets whilst continuing to work closely with our existing partners and fostering new relationships as we take our brand to the next level.”
YOTEL currently operates four airport hotels under the YOTELAIR brand in London Gatwick
