however when we asked Attleboro police about the incident (WLNE) — The motorcyclist who was critically injured in a crash Tuesday is recovering at Rhode Island Hospital the 65-year-old man who was riding the motorcycle is stable He was originally said to be in critical condition Tuesday The crash happened on Highland Avenue in front of the South Attleboro Square shopping plaza (WJAR) — Flames shot from the front of triple-decker in Attleboro on Wednesday afternoon The Attleboro District fire chief said 15 people are displaced after a fire broke out on the third-floor porch of a home on 4th Street NBC 10 spoke with Omar Jasseh of Attleboro who said he drove by the fire on his way to work and ran inside the burning building “There was really nothing going on in my mind I was acting off of adrenaline,” said Jasseh Jasseh said when he entered the building there was a woman inside and multiple children He said with help from his co-workers he was able to safely remove everyone from the house “There was a bunch of kids on the first floor and we just ran in and grabbed them,” said Jasseh The chief told NBC 10 News that the fire briefly extended to a nearby home before crews were able to knock it out The chief also said that this was the second fire at the home in the last three years so that’s what the investigation is trying to figure out if they’re related,” said Mark Renker “I believe the people living in there are new home owners and occupants so it might be completely separate incidents.” no one was injured and the cause was under investigation NBC 10's John Perik contributed to this report The Edgartown School has a new principal selected for the next school year Superintendent of Vineyard schools Richie Smith announced that the school offered the job to current Attleboro High School Principal Kate Cambell Campbell has 15 years experience as a principal in three elementary public school districts where she has served as principal of the Attleboro High School For the decade prior to her leadership positions “I am really excited to be a part of the community and work alongside the Edgartown School team,” Campbell told The Times “It is clear how invested the community is in their children and their learning.”  Superintendent Smith said that the school found a great candidate in Campbell “All the references said that she made everyone work harder Hiring a new principal caps off a search process involving school and community representatives aimed at replacing Shelley Einbinder John Stevens has been serving as interim principal in the meantime; A source close to the matter claims the student received more than one warning about behavior at the basketball game (WJAR) — An Attleboro mother is looking for answers after she says a remote-controlled vehicle broke her daughter's leg said the incident happened Friday afternoon at Poncin Hewitt Fields Greene said she and her family was spending time near the playground when a man showed up to the fields with a remote-controlled vehicle "He put the remote-controlled car down here in the middle of the soccer field over here and of course it drew the interest of everybody," said Greene She said her daughters ran over to the area "She was lying here in the middle of the soccer field and she was in tremendous pain," said Greene "It [remote-controlled vehicle] had big tires on it and just take off again and at speeds of 40 miles per hour," she said so if you can imagine being hit by a 10-pound weight ,flying 40 miles-an-hour It just drove straight through my daughter's leg." Greene shared X-ray images showing two broken bones in Ariya's lower-right leg The 5-year-old now wears a cast from her hip to her foot "She can't transfer herself over to the bathroom by herself Her leg is extremely sensitive with the weight of the cast," she said They're first trip planned for spring break and we've unfortunately had to cancel that." Greene said the entire process has been stressful for her family The family is still waiting on a child's wheelchair for Ariya and for the man responsible to come forward "You know the fact that they left the scene was a little disheartening," said Greene "I was really hoping this individual would reach out to us and acknowledge what happened."
