And I told him 'no I didn't want him to have one right now.' Bennettsville as well as officers from different agencies including the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) throughout the city ABC15 talked with Bennettsville Police Chief Kevin Miller about what's been going on in the city Miller said the increased police presence and aerial support were all a part of a couple of special operations The operations followed a shooting that left one man dead and a 15-year-old badly wounded last month in the Shady Rest community "We have made one arrest concerning that incident And we are hoping to have some other details come forth hopefully with some evidence that will be brought to light soon," said Miller South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) and the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office helped in the special operations "We called in every last thing we could In anticipation of any issues we may have faced."
