There are also plans for a planting day and a buy-a-tree program next spring to improve the landscaping co-owner of Leonhard’s flower shop with her husband can see the new park from her front door and is “thrilled” with it The Leonhards have lived in Beverly and run their business In response to the economy she says they have been having more sales to combat a reputation for being expensive She stays on top of what competitors are charging and works hard to keep prices competitive top quality stuff.” And she’s banking on the fact that local customers know and appreciate that The sandwich board out front says it all: “Don’t buy mums until you’ve seen ours.” The playground is not the only part of Kimball-Haskell Park due for a makeover The opposite end of the park parallel to Cross Street is home to two city-owned tennis courts in need of renovation the director of parks and recreation for Beverly there is a proposal before the Parks and Recreation Commission that would allow for the construction of three regulation-sized tennis courts complete with new more aesthetically pleasing fencing and landscaping The cost to build the new courts would be covered by Landmark School in exchange for a multiyear agreement that guarantees the school the use of the courts Monday through Friday Since the city cannot afford the estimated $100,000 cost of the renovation Doig is excited at the prospect of partnering with Landmark which would only take one or two weeks to complete Doig stressed that drawings need to be made and a public hearing needs to be held to “take neighbors concerns into consideration” before the project can move forward The hearing will be held some time in October and all abutters will be invited “Our goal is to do it and do it right,” Doig says Doig is also excited about the Carriage House renovation at Lynch Park and looks forward to the its becoming a “cultural community center” for the city He hopes to start scheduling community events there in the next six to 12 months who has lived with his wife Barbara right around the corner from Lynch Park for 40 years as well as a master plan to make “vast improvements to Lynch Park” over the next few years Barbara has written a weekly column on gardening for the past 27 years and has promoted a positive approach to the environment The Bargers love the open and green areas and the “cohesiveness and quietness” of the neighborhood Dick recognizes the renovation of the Cove School as the one of the most significant happenings in the last 15 years In addition to serving in various capacities at Beverly Bootstraps Dick has been involved in the Cove Improvement Association Much has changed with the Cove Improvement Association over the years What once was an exclusive group has become much more open This year the association began a collaboration with the Cape Ann Fresh Catch program that is open to all Beverly residents The Cove Community Center is one of the locations selected to serve as a drop-off point for weekly shares of fish straight off the boats in Gloucester The current shareholder contract lasts until Sept a new contract will be offered for shares in October and November The Cove Community Center is a place for people from all over the city to gather for social and political events alike “This terrific group provides a place for recreation and enjoyment of all the Cove’s treasures and [tries] to educate all Beverly residents on issues that may effect them,” says Ward 4 City Councilor Kevin Hobin The Cove Improvement Association hosted the only candidate forum for all three state representative candidates at the Community Center the Thursday before last week’s primary election When asked about the biggest change the Cove has experienced over the past 15 years Hobin identified a different building project: the Chapman’s Corner development “While the full impact of 25 additional homes will not be felt for some time the project by far was the largest in the Cove,” Hobin says Dick Barger wishes there was less commercial traffic in the area and Averill wishes there were fewer cars and more walkers on her street and she misses the “forest of trees” that were stripped away across the street from her house during the Lawrence Street drainage project Although Fogarty says she has seen increased recycling in the neighborhood with more families using paper toters she laments the fact that some homes still don’t recycle at all “The diversity of the Cove residents and neighborhoods is something that I have always found to be special,” says Hobin “Residents take pride in the fact that they live in a unique area with different landscapes and people.” “The Cove is an older neighborhood with variety You have first-time homebuyers living cheek to jowl with more affluent homeowners Its walkability and proximity to the beach and commuter rail make it attractive,” says Fogarty Please select what you would like included for printing: Copy the text we confirmed working 10gbps networking For this test we utilized a special platform from Intel that allows one to manually configure its microserver nodes Let us be clear – this is not a platform you want to have at home inefficient from a space perspective and not overly user friendly if you need to get into a microserver node We had a pre-production Intel Beverly Cove node installed for testing The basic configuration is a single board microserver node with 4 DIMM slots This version had 4x 16GB DDR4 RDIMMs and an onboard Intel 530 180GB SATA m.2 SSD installed Instead of being placed into a dense chassis there is a custom PCB that accepts the node it is also great for journalists looking to test the latest hardware This pre-production unit also appears to have the 1.9GHz Intel Xeon D-1540 version where the 8 cores and 16 threads are 100MHz slower than retail clocks this is our first Broadwell-DE part with 10gbps networking We have a Seagate 600 Pro 240GB in the lab with a Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials. Our test system, aside from the Intel 530 180GB m.2 drive has 6x Intel DC S3700 400GB drives We removed one of the drives and instead ran the Seagate SSD just to see what would happen The OS was installed on a dual Haswell-EP system so it was just a simple test to see what would happen a short time went by and we saw our 1.9GHz CPU and 64GB of DDR4: Looking at the Device manager of the Supermicro X10SDV-F system we had been using we saw the dual Intel i350-am2 gigabit Ethernet ports and something labeled the Intel 82599 Multi-Function Network Device We also saw the Intel C220 PCH show up yet again VMware ESXi 6.0 all point to the integrated PCH being Lynx Point based network access was an issue but we had some special drivers on a USB stick We did find something very different though: Searching for the Intel Ethernet Connection X552 10 GbE SFP+ connection at this point got us very little We did see in some of the ixgbe Linux documentation that the Ethernet Connection X552 10 GbE Backplane was referenced there is only one network adapter present so what this SFP+ version seems to be is an implementation of the SoC’s 10GbE controller for in-chassis backplane networking only modified to make it accessible via a SFP+ port This is likely something one might see within a microserver chassis but it is unlikely we will see the X552 in standard 1U servers this is the first working confirmation of Broadwell-DE 10GbE we have this is our second pre-production silicon system using development drivers so there is a good chance naming could change the Intel Broadwell-DE is a server part and does not have an integrated GPU It usually relies upon the BMC to provide the GPU Our Supermicro unit utilized the ASPEED AST2400 BMC that is almost ubiquitous at this point Our microserver test bed did not have a BMC so one needed to use a physical keyboard Using KVM-over-IP has spoiled us to the point we had to dig for these in the lab for these In the PCIe slot we had a passively cooled Sapphire AMD Radeon 5450 PCIe x4 video card Our setup was an 8 core/ 16 thread processor 10GbE SFP+ networking and a PCIe video card and we were doing testing over the weekend after a long week We decided to fire up one of the most popular games out there: League of Legends We have never done this type of thing before if it can play a video game in this pre-production configuration it should have no problem with VDI using Citrix or VMware Horizon but not overly enjoyable on the low-end AMD video card and 1920×1200 resolution Ok this effort ended in defeat but fun anyway this is certainly going to be a better experience we were able to use the <10% CPU required to also run 10GbE network testing If one wanted a very low power (45w TDP) SoC to game with and run virtual machines in Hyper-V on the side this is probably passable for casual gamers we started re-running some network simple testing mid-way through For this test we had our test storage server also connected to our 10Gb switch We used a RAID 0 array with 4x Intel DC S3700 400GB SSDs in the Broadwell-DE server Those four SSDs were passed through to the Hyper-V VM running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with ZFS on Linux We also used 4x Toshiba PX02SMF040 400GB SAS3 SSDs on our storage server connected to a LSI / Avago SAS 3008 controller About 2x as much disk bandwidth as we would need on both ends to saturate 10GbE We used a 8GB RAMDISK on both the VM and the storage test server for writes and the RAID 0 SSD for reads and simply passed a large ISO image file across the machines the results are as we would expect for a simple test with no tuning We saw transfer speeds around 800MB/s which is solid for a NAS platform There is more headroom in this platform to drive more bandwidth To give some perspective of why this is great we gave the Hyper-V VM four cores while leaving the remainder for playing the game Doing massive transfers in the background did not even make the game stutter slightly This is a 45w TDP SoC playing a 3D game and running an all SSD NAS with saturing a 10GbE NIC Fairly impressive for those building converged servers Again, this is a pre-production Xeon D-1540 running 100MHz below production speeds in a very custom engineering test rig. Given that we are seeing great performance from the Xeon D-1540 already and the production version should be ~5% faster We do need to work on digging on the question around the Intel X552 SFP+ networking as it does appear to be a backplane networking solution modified for this engineering rig We should be getting our production samples of Broadwell-DE products soon and will continue to verify 10gbps networking Can you please run the below powershell command and see if the 10GB network adapter is RDMA capable Get-NetAdapterRdma –Name * | Where-Object -FilterScript { $_.Enabled } I want more microserver review on this website How do you pass data between the machines (FTP/SMB/NFS/iSCSI,Netcat) Baatch – that did not come up as RDMA capable and website in this browser for the next time I comment Δdocument.getElementById( "ak_js_1" ).setAttribute( "value" This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. the fall there will be a couple changes in leadership at Beverly Middle School Cove Elementary School and Ayers Elementary School Beverly Middle School Principal Matthew Poska announced he would be stepping down from his role at the end of the academic year With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic prompting an extended closure of schools across the nation Beverly Public Schools Superintendent Sue Charochak made the decision to suspend an official search for a middle school principal and instead install an interim leader “With this week's announcement that schools will remain in remote learning for the remainder of the year combined with the knowledge that this health crisis may continue and cause multiple academic and financial impacts long into next year I have determined that it is not possible at this time to conduct a thorough search process for the permanent leader of the middle school,” she said I believe it is essential for someone who knows and understands our Beverly community and has an abundance of experience as a sitting principal to lead the middle school throughout the 2020-2021 school year.” will become the interim principal of Beverly Middle School Oliver is the best person to lead this strong learning community through the challenging journey ahead,” Charochak said in an announcement Friday Oliver possesses experience as both a former middle school teacher and a successful experienced principal who strives to develop strong connections with students she is passionate about her commitment to hold extremely high expectations for both students and staff Her developmental understanding of children and young adolescents combined with her deep relationships with her fellow elementary principals and our high school administrators will foster compassionate and thoughtful transitions during an unusually emotional time for all our students when they enter the middle school and high school next fall.” Charochak was also charged with naming an interim principal “who will continue the mission of excellence and a strong sense of community for all at Cove.” has accepted the role of interim principal at the school for the 2020-21 academic year Sweeney has been a valued member of the Cove Community and has consistently proven her leadership abilities as a teacher leader for the past eight years,” Charochak said “She has earned the respect of her colleagues through her calm demeanor and her commitment to both students and staff Erin will provide consistent leadership and maintain the high standards that are integral to the Cove school She has been at the forefront of district leadership in the implementation of Project-Based Learning and serves on the Instructional Leadership Team at Cove.” has announced she will be leaving the district at the end of the school year a traditional search process for a new principal is not possible and I appointed Mrs Hart has been a valued member of the Ayers Community Her leadership abilities and innate understanding of the importance of relationships and communication and her genuine commitment to the success of all our students are underscored only by her tenacity in her belief in all children Meaghan’s knowledge and experience in teaching and learning her work with teachers as an instructional coach and her calm and confident demeanor make her uniquely qualified to assume the position of interim principal at the Ayers School.” Charochak said she will be announcing opportunities for parents families and community members to virtually “meet” the new interim leaders in the coming weeks “We hope that our entire community will join together with our students and staff from each school to welcome their new principals,” she said.” I also ask that you not only join me in welcoming our district leaders to their new positions but take a moment to reach out and thank both Mr and years of dedication to the Beverly Public Schools along with our entire Beverly Public Schools learning community extend our deepest gratitude and wish them well in their future endeavors.” -- Sign up for our newsletter and get important Beverly news delivered straight to your inbox As an example, in Unboxing the Intel Visual Compute Accelerator we found a solution with three Intel Xeon CPUs using upgraded Iris Pro Graphics and ECC SODIMM support Perhaps the closest comparison looks almost exactly like something we used from Intel back in Q1 2015 Enter the Intel Xeon D-1540 development platform Here is the compute module from that system: The Intel Xeon D-1540 development platform had a Beverly Cove node that had a similar feature set the big difference here is that this was a development platform The USB port had a bug where one needed a specific powered USB hub to plug in USB powered devices such as keyboards and mice Here is what we have for photos of the main PCB assembly One will note that this was in the era of SATA SSDs The implementation found in the current Quartz Canyon NUC is much more refined but this is clearly something we have seen before from Intel Anyone claiming this is a new concept from Intel probably never saw a Beverly Cove platform Intel had something strikingly similar albeit an unrefined development platform over five years ago Beverly Cove was effectively productized in future iterations for Facebook’s Open Compute platforms such as Yosemite/ Yosemite V2 It was updated with the Xeon D-2100 series with their Twin Lakes Intel Xeon D-2100 Platform This BGA Xeon CPU on a card with memory and M.2 storage is actually a widely used design in the industry Facebook and the OCP community even have PCIe modules for extra NVMe storage and liquid-cooled modules It does not take much imagination to see where Intel can draw inspiration from for next-gen versions of Quartz Canyon NUCs if it wanted to make full edge computing lines While we would not want to have the Beverly Cove development platform (nor the OCP Yosemite V2 platforms) anywhere near us while working the Intel NUC 9 Pro kit is something designed as a quiet workstation and performance testing before getting to our final words you’re like the only person that’d pick up on the parallel This reminds me a lot of the old (And new) PCIMG style computers That might be a fun comparison given how cheap they are now did you try putting the compute board into a normal motherboard as a 2nd pc for streaming housed in the same case Please try it and let me know or post somewhere I wouldn’t be surprised if putting this compute board into a PCIe of another motherboard would fry something You could of course put the board in the same case as another motherboard provided you don’t connect it to a motherboard (for example a large case with only an ITX or mATX board installed) install an ITX board and put in one or two of these compute board for a small cluster Simply slot this in and have another full dedicated PC to encode my stream as it goes out live I’m sure there could be other uses … like having 4 or 5 of these in a HEDT system for a cluster for me this will be perfect in my home-studio (Music) 1 pci-e card (universal audio dsp card) 3 or 4 ssd s and thunderbolt that will work with my Apollo interface (hm maybe do a hackintosh also we will se thx for a good site Isn’t Intel providing the baseboard specs and design guidelines to OEMs so they can make their systems I‘d love to see what someone like Dell would do with this with all the ready built up ecosystem they have I can also see a use case for using this in a rack similar to a Supermicro Microcloud but instead of sleds Also extremely reminiscent of a transputer this is something that AMD should jump on too with their PCIe lane advantage this is a nobrainer for them to adopt the baseboard and compute module functionality too Just need a 2nd PCIe slot to the baseboard… If size and expandability are all Intel has going for it then the NUC 9 is a day late and a dollar short The mini-ITX form factor has come a long ways over the past 3 years allowing enthusiasts to build PCs as small as and expandable as the NUC 9 it feels like most things Intel has been releasing over the past 2 years has been lackluster Hopefully Intel can drum up more interest in Lakefield or Alder Lake if one didn’t mind going with physically larger servers Question regarding the vPro/AMT functionality: is it possible to remotely install an OS (in particular ESXi) by mounting an iso on the network Wondering if vPro/AMT allows the server to be completely managed remotely (including for fresh installations) Wondering what I would be missing using vPro/AMT as compared to IPMI (such as HPE’s iLO) @Ed Rota: Point me a min ITX MB with 3+ PCIe slots and 2+ thunderbolt Create your free account to receive personalised content alerts and Re:action our weekly newsletter of the top chemical science stories handpicked from a range of magazines journals and websites alongside insight and analysis from our expert editorial team Tell us what you think. distinguished university professor at the University of Maryland College Park and Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health she served as director of the US National Science Foundation and she is also the founder of the bioinformatics company CosmosID.  a little town about 30 miles north of Boston My father and mother were immigrants from Italy He was very supportive of women receiving a good education turning down Radcliffe College – in those days I met my husband when he was a physical chemistry graduate student at Purdue We later attended the University of Washington in Seattle We drove it until our first child was born when we traded it for a more sensible station wagon there were not very many women full professors in the sciences but what hasn’t changed is the number of female full professors – there are a lot of assistant and tenured associate professors but not senior professors and department chairs The hardest thing has been to persevere when attacked for my scientific results I have to think it has to do with my being a woman the discoveries were fully reinforced by other investigators An ad hominem attack is not the path for science my children tease me because when I am working I become so engrossed I was sitting on a couch by the fireplace in our house and a little ember flicked out I was busy editing and working on a manuscript I chaired the US National Academies committee that produced a major report a year ago on the sexual harassment of women in science The timing was exquisitely good – it was published providing results in a heavily documented study just at the height of the #MeToo movement It was extraordinarily important that it happened as it did because it underpinned exactly what many of the complaints were about in the #MeToo movement There is now less reluctance to speak up and speak out There is greater willingness to document harrassment and to work on the implementation of lessons learned I served as director of the National Science Foundation during both the Clinton and Bush administrations I was able to increase the agency’s budget by 63% and established a lot of important scientific and engineering programmes I was able to work with both sides of the congressional aisle They may have had different ways of looking at social issues but when it came to science they were supportive polarisation makes it more difficult to get significant increases for science The attack on science is a significant threat as well as the lack of respect for the best scientific knowledge such as phrenology – the theory that the shape of your head could predict your intelligence misinformation and pseudoscience seem to be appearing with a new intensity It seems almost like a disease that is spreading Site powered by Webvision Cloud While the power figures are quite different between the platforms we now have consistent CPU performance benchmarks we are comfortable with albeit at about a 5% disadvantage to the retail parts For the Intel Xeon D-1540 pre production units we had units on hand from Supermciro and Intel The Supermicro X10SDV-F is a mITX motherboard with only 1GbE networking exposed We did install 64GB of DDR4 RDIMMs and ran benchmarks from RAM as is the STH standard For the comparison group we enlisted several datapoints First we picked a dual Intel Xeon L5520 system with 48GB of RAM running in Dell C6100 chassis to show 2009 era high density performance we picked an E5-1620 V3 which is a Haswell-E generation LGA2011-3 Xeon Perhaps in the closest competition we picked two Haswell generation Xeon E3 chips the E3-1230 V3 and E3-1276 V3 to give some data points in terms of one of the higher performance options previously in this space The Intel Atom C2750 was also added just to show the previous attempt at a SoC circa 2013 the C2750 has become the benchmark system for ARM competition to try beating in 2015 The Xeon D is going to have a major impact on that plan We utilized our standard Linux-Bench test script for these benchmarks The great thing about Linux-Bench is that one can compare it to other sites (e.g Anandtech and Tom’s Hardware) that use the script or even just pop in a Ubuntu LiveCD run 3 commands and compare the results below to your own system The first benchmark we are looking at today is c-ray 1.1 which is a highly threaded benchmark that will favor additional cores and Hyper-Threading Here we can see that the two fastest systems were both 8 core/ 16 thread processors (dual L5520 and Xeon D) While the Intel Xeon D is showing off here do remember that the production version will have a 5% advantage over what we are seeing in our current systems The other big takeaway here is to just look at the SoC performance gap between the C2750 and the D-1540 and note that this is not a simple generational improvement another popular Linux CPU benchmark we can see an unexpected result Overall the lesson here is that 8 threads only gets you so far The C2750 falters significantly on single threaded performance which we expect the dual L5520 system performs extremely well (almost too good) but consistently We are beginning to think there may be some optimizations that are running on the older processor and not being used for Xeon D which would make sense since except for large clients (and apparently us) not many people have Xeon D to test on yet NAMD is another benchmark where we see complete dominance of the Atom C2750 by the Xeon D-1540 so the Silvermont architecture’s lower cache and floating point capabilities are likely hurting it in the benchmark by a good margin For the inverse we are looking at the HardInfo CPU cryptohash benchmark lower than any single chip TDP of its competition E3-1230 V3 and the E5-1276 V3 being fairly similar in terms of performance is supported we used 7-zip compress / decompress to test CPU speed Here we can see that the architectural enhancements of the Broadwell-DE part are paying off As we move to UnixBench we look at the results across our dhrystone 2 and whetstone tests Here one can clearly see that the Xeon D-1540 has strong performance in both single and multi-threaded tests the Broadwell-DE architecture performs extremely well Having 8 cores and the newest microarchitecture of the group helps There are a few surprises in our benchmark results but the bottom line is that technology advances and Broadwell-DE is the next generation As the remainder of the Xeon lineup gets updated to Broadwell over the next year or so we will expect other platforms to creep higher in terms of performance We are still investigating the power consumption piece of the equation Our two test systems produce performance numbers very close to one another Power wise the results are not consistent enough to publish which may be the norm for pre-production parts Going to put this in my next off site backup NAS Seems like Broadwell is a significant jump in performance At 1.9GHz it is outperforming E3s that can do 3.6GHz especially considering (I believe) that since it is a SOC this figure includes the Ethernet If anyone makes a board like this in ATX or ATX-E with more expansion (I’m thinking three 8x slots and two 4x slots (all with 8x plastic) I might just come knocking I could replace my dual socket 2x 60w system with this and not even need any NIC’s Would the D-1520 be about half the performance of the D-1540 on these benchmarks Can’t wait for the SuperMicro board to be in production Hopefully it will not be too expensive in Sweden I will definitely build a 3-node ESXi cluster Being a home lab enthusiast the form factor is great I am so glad they choose to ditch some of the useless I/O ports in favor of RAM-slots and LAN-ports Which it usually is when having a small datacenter at home I’m thinking I could build a great 4U ZFS storage server with a 1520 if it only had a few 8x+ PCIe slots for multiple SAS HBA’s (one is not enough but three would be ideal to have room to grow.) The 1540 would go in a 1U or 2U case right above the storage connected directly to it using one of those 10gig ports… as the clocks are higher on the 1520 than one the 1540 ShareSaveReal EstateForbes Global Properties$12.5 Million Beverly Hills Midcentury Modern Boldly Embraces The 21st CenturyByLauren Beale The 1957 single-story was originally designed by Alfred T. In September, the city was designated to receive a second bus in the pilot program through funds awarded to Highland The second bus is likely to arrive early next year (Scott Souza is a Patch Field Editor covering Beverly He can be reached at Scott.Souza@Patch.com Related Patch Coverage: Beverly To Get Second Electric Battery School Bus Through Grant It's Electric As Beverly Unveils New School Bus In collaboration with DKNY Chic Summer Flats for Days When You Need More Than a SandalGia Coppola's Guide to Summer Entertaining with WineThe Long-Awaited Return of Going-Out Style A few quick notes on what we will be returning with in terms of performance next week: We do have the Intel pre-production system setup with 6x Intel S3700 400GB SSDs and the Supermicro pre-production system running a Samsung XP941 PCIe 2.0 m.2 drive and a Virident FlashMAX II 550GB PCIe SSD along with 4x Intel S3500 800GB SSDs for storage and are actively exploring different configurations One can see the addition of the PHY for the 10Gbase-T interfaces along with some additional cooling on the SoC itself as compared to the pre-production and 10Gbase-T less X10SDV-F we looked at a few weeks ago In preparation of releasing results next week you can get ready to compare your server to the Intel Xeon D-1540 8 core / 16 thread processor It should be an exciting week next week for those following the Intel Xeon D-1540 platform. More National Obituaries > Today we have confirmation from our lab’s production sample For this investigation we used our Supermicro X10SDV-TLN4F which has both an onboard Intel i350-t2 gigabit Ethernet controller and onboard 10GbE We used Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard for our testing but this should apply to most versions of the latest Windows operating systems One note here: we did utilize drivers provided by Intel in our testing these drivers will be integrated into forthcoming standard driver releases which will be good to see The support of the Xeon D’s integrated 10Gb networking seems to be just hitting stride with significant portions of the validation process reaching milestones at several vendors Heading to the device manager under installation, we were greeted with all four network ports available on our Supermicro X10SDV-TLN4F review sample we have the Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter (we now test Hyper-V with all hardware in the STH lab.) Next there are the two Intel(R) Ethernet Connection X552/X557-AT 10GBASE-T connections These are followed by our Intel i350-t2 NICs For those looking through logs of foreign systems the Intel X552 or X557 10Gbase-T adapters seem to be exclusive to the Intel Xeon D platform at the moment This year we will see 10 gigabit Ethernet become mainstream as more of the SoC offerings from Intel and other vendors embed 10 gigabit Ethernet controllers Now if only the switch vendors would catch up and provide lower cost switches Were you able to get the X552/X557 working under ESXi I did not see compatibility for either 5.5 or 6.0 Did you have to create your own .vib to inject into the ISO Any idea how much power the 10Gbe controller consumes Will the 10Gbe ports function with 1Gbe equipment Hi Patrick – Any idea what the Skylake Xeon D-2100 series is rocking as far as the network controller for their dual SFP+ ports but I’ve had a hard time identifying the controller (they’ve got separate controllers for the RJ45 ports but for the SFP+ ports they just say “via SOC”.) Joe – D-2100 is X722 IIRC just like the Lewisburg PCH in bigger servers May i ask if x552/x557 in xeon D 1500 series actually supports 2.5 or 5 Gbe over rj45 Mark: The data sheet suggests it only does 10Gb/1Gb/100Mbps It will attempt to do any of them over Cat 5e but it is specified as “best effort” The Xeon D-1500 series predates 5GbE as a standard; though Silvermont/Avaton had 2.5GbE it wasn’t seen as something to be used in a professional datacenter environment; more as a stopgap for “pro-sumer” data equipment where 1GbE links could be saturated
