Jason Bonham said he’ll continue playing JBLZE shows as long as he and the audience like what the band is doing
“I do it for passion and the love of the music and the people that come to see it,” Bonham told ABC Audio
He also told the outlet that Physical Graffiti is his favorite Led Zepplin album because
“Kashmir” is a song where Led Zeppelin "went to another level," Bonham told ABC Audio
John Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening’s next tour stop is Tuesday at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse
2025 was a day unlike any other in the history of a settlement first known as the Village of Bois d'Arc
And that is quite a statement considering that the village now known as Bonham was established in 1837 and is one of the oldest towns in Texas
During the annual Bonham Heritage Day Festival
residents paid homage to the original inhabitants of this region -- the Caddo Nation -- and to the intrepid French trappers who ventured up from New Orleans in the 1700s in search of pelts
The trappers found Native Americans harvesting the yellow wood of a unique tree that was abundant along what the trappers would come to call Bois d'Arc Bayou
The yellow wood could be fashioned into powerful hunting bows
causing the Frenchmen to coin the phrase "bois d'arc" -- roughly translated as "wood of the arc."
On a picture-perfect Saturday morning with clear
the Bonham Heritage Day Festival crowd filled downtown
Another crowd that included representatives of the Caddo Nation and Eric M
Consul Honoraire de France Dallas and his lovely wife
gathered in the large courtroom of the 1888 Fannin County Courthouse for the inaugural Vive le Bois d'Arc ceremony
It is noteworthy that this courthouse foundation is still supported
by 30-foot bois d'arc pilings driven into the ground 138 years ago
City of Bonham Municipal Judge Michael Evans gave the invocation
which was then translated into French by Lorie Clark
Fannin County Court at-Law Judge Charles Butler welcomed the visitors to this auspicious occasion and invited David Keene to present writing pens he had fashioned from local bois d'arc wood to members of the Caddo Nation and the French Consul
"Bonham's history is intertwined with this impressive tree's cultural significance," Judge Butler read from a letter sent by Texas Governor Greg Abbott
Bonham Mayor Pro Tem John Burnett read a proclamation on behalf of the City of Bonham before the ceremony moved to the courthouse lawn for the planting of a special bois d'arc tree supplied by John Baecht
a master craftsman at working with bois d'arc wood
Bonham Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sam Lumpkins took a moment to recognize the contribution of Dr
the man who named this region the "Bois d'Arc Kingdom," and the author of Wood Eternal
a definitive work on the subject of all things bois d'arc
the first human excursions into this region thousands of years ago was by Native Americans harvesting bois d'arc for war clubs
Tarpley believed that Bois d'Arc Creek was the epicenter of this ancient kingdom
who is well known for the incredible bois d'arc bows he makes
singled out the Caddo Nation for being the first people to recognize the unique properties of this unusual wood
Baecht told of the many uses that Anglo settlers found for bois d'arc
He said he was proud to bring a bois d'arc tree from his family farm to be the county's living symbol of its heritage -- the official Vive le Bois d'Arc tree
As the Vive le Bois d'Arc ceremony ended
Bonham's honored guests from the Caddo Nation and Consul Honoraire de France Dallas retired to Neighbors Place Winery for a special luncheon
the Heritage Day Festival was in full swing
Amazing entries of the Red River Valley Car & Truck Show lined Main Street
the Red River Arts Fest was drawing a crowd to Creative Arts Center for art
and performers were getting ready to take their turn on the main stage
Local favorites Colby Rogers and Colton Gilbreath were first in line
the Chad Cooke Band and headliner Josh Weathers.
the Fiddes Family and Roger Branch taking turns on the Garden Stage
Artist demonstrations were given by Jessie Bryant
Sandy Barber and Janet Vines at Creative Arts Center
Fannin County employees were giving tours of the historic Fannin County Courthouse and Cody Davis of AR Consultants
lead archeologist for the Bois d'Arc project, was giving a fascinating presentation regarding what was discovered in the lake's footprint
The overwhelming success of events such as Heritage Day
Red River Arts Fest and the recent Steaks on Main cook-off and free concert serve notice of the tantalizing potential of downtown Bonham
The future of Fannin County is shaping up to be as fascinating as its colorful past

Led Zeppelin were famed for their abilities on their respective instruments
while John Paul Jones was a low-end master
but his time behind the mic was short-lived
Sounding closer to a karaoke singer than a supreme vocalist
Bonham also employed the age-old Dutch courage to get himself on singing duties
The best illustrations of Bonham’s vocal prowess come from live Zeppelin performances
the band’s take on ‘The Ocean’ which appears on The Song Remains the Same
a track where Bonham gets lowered a mic and perfectly harmonises with Plant on the song’s breakdown
Or you could look at the band’s 1975 performance of ‘Bron-Y-Aur Stomp’ at Earl’s Court
where Bonham turns the song into a lively duet
However, Bonham’s singing wasn’t always the most tuneful, especially after a few drinks. One night, while Jimmy Page was working on a riff during the Led Zeppelin III sessions
Bonham came back from a rollicking romp out at the bars singing a song of his own invention
rap stuff,” Page explained to Guitar World in 1993
“He would just get drunk and start singing things like what you hear in the beginning of ‘The Ocean.’ He originally had some lyrics about drinking pints of bitter
you know: ‘Now I’m feeling better because I’m out on the tiles.’”
turned to be a major inspiration point for the band
Page began to play along to Bonham’s impromptu tune and
It speaks highly of the band’s ability to jump on an idea and turn it into a foot-stomping jam
Led Zeppelin may have been a group of master cfratsmaen
but they good rock and roll as well as anybody on the planet
Bonham landed his one and only songwriting credit for Led Zeppelin III
‘Out on the Tiles’ never really caught on in concert
but Page did frequently use the riff as an intro to ‘Black Dog’ on stage
Check out one of the few times Led Zeppelin played the song live down below

Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Led Zeppelin’s classic album Physical Graffiti with a new tour
launched his JBLZE tours in 2010 and tells ABC Audio there’s a good reason why he keeps doing them
“It would have stopped many years ago if we didn’t feel that people liked it
and if I didn’t enjoy it,” Jason says
“It just says something about the music … that’s the main thing.”
For this tour, Jason and the band will play Physical Graffiti in its entirety
Since this is the first time they’ve performed a complete album
Jason says it helps keep things fresh
He adds that Physical Graffiti is his “favorite album” from Zeppelin
and one of the main reasons is because “it’s got ‘Kashmir’ on it.” He suggests the song is where the band “went to another level.”
“Now no band can put any kind of Eastern promise in any riff or anything without people going
‘Oh it sounds like Zeppelin,'” he adds
And although Jason has had plenty of other projects he’s worked on
there’s a simple reason why he keeps coming back to play Led Zeppelin
“I do it for passion and the love of the music and the people that come to see it,” he says
Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening Celebrating 50 Years of Physical Graffiti kicks off Saturday in Wallingford, Connecticut, and wraps May 21 in Los Angeles. A complete list of dates can be found at jasonbonham.net

On Tuesday, Daze Between New Orleans continued a growing festival tradition between the magic and the madness of New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival weekends with the first day of its fourth-annual event
Things look a little different at Daze Between New Orleans this year. Last year’s third-annual edition of the festival doubled as a sendoff for Faubourg Brewing Company in New Orleans East, which closed down soon after Gov’t Mule closed out last year’s Daze Between
Daze Between New Orleans settled into its new home at the Mahalia Jackson Theater in Louis Armstrong Park
guest-filled performances inside the opulent venue by lespecial (with Skerik and surprise guest Mike Dillon)
and Umphrey’s McGee (one original set with Jeff Coffin and Jennifer Hartswick plus a Led Zeppelin tribute set with John Bonham’s son
guests and passersby drifted through the free
public Daze Between Block Party to sample craft vendors
and live local brass bands by the park’s scenic fountain
underscoring the communal spirit of good music and good food central to New Orleans culture
lespecial also called up the band’s “Jazz Dad,” Mike Dillon
plus moe.’s Jim Loughlin for some dueling vibraphone action
The expanded lineup dipped into Skerik and Dillon’s shared catalog with “Punk Rock Guilt” and “Gorelick” from Critters Buggin’ and The Dead Kenny Gs
as well as their joint resume working with Les Claypool on the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade‘s “Up on the Roof”
Who knew saxophone and vibraphone could hit so hard with skull-rattling metal syncopation
Anyone who has seen Skerik and Mike D before
Related: Mike Dillon & lespecial Started A Punk-Rock Band? Fackn’ A! [Interview]
“It’s been an honor learning to play this music with these legends and learning to defeat Kenny G together,” bassist Luke Bemand beamed toward the end of the set
Don’t miss lespecial’s late-night show with Mike Dillon and more at Toulosue Theatre on Thursday
Giving the stylistic wheel a Price is Right-level spin
came up next to deliver a set of ’90s-style jam band fireworks
The band stretched out in its lengthy two-hour
settling in with classics “Stranger Than Fiction”
After giving the flying pig a stellar airing
brought out Dumpstaphunk trumpeter Ashlin Parker
and trombonist Alex Wasily for the remainder of the set
While the horn trio was an obvious fit for covers like Little Feat‘s “Spanish Moon” and The Band‘s “Ophelia”
the Dumpstaphunk horns proved their versatility as they helped push Blue Öyster Cult‘s “Godzilla” to a beautifully dark and chaotic place
happy hour set with “Happy Hour Hero”—a perfect closer for the daytime set a few blocks from the debauchery of Bourbon Street
Umphrey’s McGee split its headlining performance into two sets
and Andy Farag diving straight in with instrumental “1348”
Umphrey’s delivered a crunch that’s often notably absent from the Jazz Fest season
Something that has helped Daze Between grow into an annual tradition is the festival’s commitment to delivering some flavors not easily found on Jazz Fest’s massive menu
After locking into some techtonic jams that shifted beneath Myers and Farag’s drum syncopation
Umphrey’s brought out Hartswick and Coffin
The band has performed with these guests for decades
but this was the first time with the power duo
Umphrey’s McGee summoned the stadium-rock prowess of Led Zeppelin with help from Jason Bonham and his Robert Plant sing-alike ringer James Dylan
the band fired through “Immigrant Song” and “What Is and What Should Never Be” to start the set
Through these faithful recreations of classic rock anthems
Umphrey’s McGee found plenty of ways to inject its own identity
particularly on the already very Umphrey’s-sounding “The Song Remains the Same”
the jam on “Fool in the Rain” (“Umphrey’s McGee has played this song 50 times,” Bayliss noted
and the avant breakdown of “Whole Lotta Love”
where the band blazed blood red murder lights and brooded in the chaotic space
A hard-hitting “Kashmir” may have been the highlight of the show for this writer
not long before the set wound down with “No Quarter”
and finally “The Ocean” gave it a run for its money
Bayliss explained that they wanted to keep playing Zeppelin but Bonham had requested to play a song by Umphrey’s McGee before barreling into a climactic “Conduit” to close Daze Between New Orleans 2025 day one
After the festivities at the Mahalia Jackson Theater
linked back up at Toulouse Theatre for an official Daze Between New Orleans late-night show billed as Daze by Nite
Check out a clip from the intimate late-night session below

The City of Bonham is celebrating bois d’arc trees as part of the Bonham Heritage Day Festival at 10 a.m
The Bonham and Fannin County connection with bois d’arc wood begins in the 1700s when the French explorers came across the Caddo Indians in Northeast Texas
The French soon realized that the local Natives had a flourishing business trading what the Caddo called “wood of the arc” or “bow wood” with other tribes from a wide area
The French translation of this impenetrable
The Caddo were instrumental in teaching the French how to use wood from the bois d’arc tree
This gave way to settlements and stability in an otherwise unforgiving land
The phrase bois d’arc was passed down to European settlers who named their territory the Village of Bois d’Arc located on Bois d’Arc Creek
would be our city’s name until it was renamed Bonham in 1840
after the fallen Alamo war soldier James Butler Bonham
More than 180 years later, the name bois d’arc was requested to honor important local history and recognize the bois d’arc tree as a distinctive symbol with special significance for the region. The citizens and officials of Bonham and Fannin County fought to change the name of Texas’ newest reservoir, located in Fannin County, from The North Texas Municipal Lake to the Bois d’Arc Lake
Department of the Interior officially recognized the name Bois d’Arc Lake on February 21
and it is open to the public for boating and fishing
Representatives of the Caddo Nation and the French Consulate will be in attendance and presented special pens made of bois d’arc by David Keene
The hardy tree is also known as Osage orange
Keene has presented local and state officials with the pens for many years
From swearing in ceremonies to official state visits
the pens are synonymous with public duty and pride representing Bonham’s past
Commemorative bois d’arc pens are available for purchase the day of the event at the Creative Arts Center
The public and guests are invited to the planting of a special bois d’arc tree on the grounds of the historic Fannin County Courthouse at 11:00 a.m. hosted by the Bonham Area Chamber of Commerce. The tree was picked out and donated by Texoma’s bois d’arc tree expert, John Baecht. Baecht is the social media creator and administrator of the Facebook page Bois DArc Kingdom
He will have a bois d’arc woodworking station set up on the grounds of the courthouse and do demonstrations the remainder of the day
Also on May 3 is the Red River Arts Festival at the Creative Arts Center
Local artists are selling their works and making demonstrations
“There were times when I blundered and got the dreaded look from the lads
It showed I’d attempted something I’d not tried before.” – John Bonham
I recently saw the documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin and was once again stunned by the individual genius of each group member
Jimmy Page created the band and drove the vision
it would’ve likely just been another loud 70s band with some pretty cool guitar riffs
Led Zeppelin was a once-in-a-generation miracle of talent and alchemy
For all of his thunderous drumming and (later on) wild partying
He became as much of a family man as he could be: his school headmaster once noted that Bonham would either “become a dustman or a millionaire.” Bonham himself admitted
“Drumming was the only thing I was ever good at.”
Bonzo’s love of drums began at age 5 when he built his kit from coffee cans and various containers to imitate his heroes Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich
he played in local bands (where he met Robert Plant)
After kicking around the Midlands together
Bonham and Plant joined Led Zeppelin in 1968
The connection between John Paul Jones and Bonham was instant
Jones described him as “loud from the bottom up,” adding nuance and variety to anything he played
Jones sweetly notes that he “fell in love” with Bonham’s right foot; he instinctively left space on his end to highlight a certain kick or fill from his rhythm partner
but it’s acknowledged that he took drumming to an entirely new level of musicianship
Or Jimmy Page for that matter: “He would have a natural balance to everything he was playing
And then he’d give a bass-drum accent that you’d feel it go into your stomach.” Case in point: ahead of Zeppelin’s controversial appearance at the 1969 Newport Jazz Festival
several members of James Brown’s band stood open-mouthed at the side of the stage as he wailed away during sound check
As Physical Graffiti celebrates its 50th anniversary
Listening to “In My Time of Dying” the other night
I heard something different in Bonham’s drum work: this isn’t just some showy time-keeping
it’s as rhythmically complex and stirring as anything composed by Stravinsky
Jones noted that Bonham always struggled with the stress of touring and he hated flying
The punishing schedule the band was on (e.g
six American tours in fifteen months) didn’t fit his nature
so it’s no surprise he turned to booze to cope
Page has tried to explain to persistent reporters and talk show hosts that the complex improvisational ability the group had developed together – especially Bonham’s talent for mixing things up on the fly – could never be replicated with another drummer
Zeppelin – quite literally – had lost their right arm…and right foot
Since Becoming Led Zeppelin hit theaters (it will stream on Netflix this summer)
“Whole Lotta Love” rejoined the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Digital Songs chart
As each member of his former band has gone on to explore and develop new things
you can’t help but wonder what this powerhouse musician would’ve achieved in his later years
Cindy Grogan is a longtime freelance writer
having worked in a ton of different industries
Her background in radio is a natural fit for her love of music – anything from the Beatles to Hank Williams
A rabid consumer of pop culture and politics
Cindy finds the smartass tendencies that once got her grounded now serve her well in Facebook arguments

You showed me some things I’d totally missed and can now enjoy knowing
I saw “Becoming…” with my oldest friend
who was also at that Texas concert near the end of the film
And weren’t you lucky to have seen them live
My brother-in-law reminds me (a lot) that he was at MSG when they filmed “Song Remains the Same.” He’s a really nice guy
Black Sabbath’s Bill Ward and Led Zeppelin”s John Bonham rose through the ranks together
Both men combined hard-hitting power with dexterity
incorporating everything from James Brown-inspired funk beats to jazz swing into their playing
inspiring countless drummers and bands who followed
the pair were born within a month of each other
less than 20 miles apart – Ward on May 5
and Bonham on May 31 the same year in Redditch
But was there a rivalry between these two pioneering drummers
Ward shed some light on their relationship
“When I was in The Rest I used to go and watch John play whichever band he was in,” said Ward
“We’d crossed paths all the time
I remember seeing him when he was in with The Crawling King Snakes and he was just whacking the shit out of his kit
I’d just sit there and watch him.’”
Recalling his early days on the West Midlands club circuit with Ward
Tony Iommi remembered Bonham attending gigs by their pre-Sabbath band Mythology as well as the formative incarnation of Black Sabbath
and he’d want to get up and jam,” Iommi told Classic Rock in 2016
‘OK then.’ So he got up and played Bill’s drums and just wrecked them
so after that anytime John came along and said
‘No’ and not let him play.”

both Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath had established themselves as transatlantic stars
but the bonds from the old days on the Birmingham scene remained
Bonham even acted as best man at Iommi’s wedding in 1973
while the two drummers spent time at each other’s houses
the worlds of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin came together when Bonham turned up at London’s Morgan Studios
where Sabbath were recording their fifth album
He’d brought Zeppelin bandmates Robert Plant and John Paul Jones with him
What followed was a jam session between two of the greatest bands in history
“They came in and John’s going
cos he loved that song,” Iommi told Classic Rock
“So he sat behind the kit and we started to play it
but we just carried on and went into a jam
Our session went totally out of the window.”
Ward backed up Iommi’s memories.:“He really loved Supernaut
We were in the studio one day and he came by
He said: ‘I’ll do it on one.’”
Despite any potential rivalry between the two drummers, Ward remained hugely respectful of his friend. “He was, without question, the best drummer in the world,” Ward told Classic Rock
continues long after John passed away.”

In a new interview Terrie Carr of WDHA-FM 105.5 FM
the rock music station licensed to Dover and Morristown
drummer Jason Bonham — son of the legendary LED ZEPPELIN drummer John Bonham — spoke about what it has been like to perform in front of full houses with his LED ZEPPELIN EVENING show across North America this fall
He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I always find it's a pinch-yourself moment because I look at it as I started this purely as a therapeutic way to get the LED out of me
'Now what?' … Because I just spent six weeks with the [surviving LED ZEPPELIN] guys every day [in preparation for the London show]
They would tell me things that I didn't know — now I'm a grown-up — they would tell me all these different things
'Are you gonna be okay when it stops?' I'm
I've got this.' Because you've been given the keys to the kingdom
and you sat in the throne of the greatest rock and roll band in the world
I don't wanna tarnish that.' So it became more therapeutic
after I got over the my stories and me — 'it's about me and my dad' — it's not
because we all have stories of what he meant to us
So that's the only reason — the love and the passion that we do it and still do it
Because there's a lot of other things that I like to do."
Jason Bonham spent nearly a decade touring as JASON BONHAM'S LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE before changing the band's name to JASON BONHAM'S LED ZEPPELIN EVENING
Bonham later explained that the switch was prompted by a request from the LED ZEPPELIN camp
who wanted to use the "Experience" name for a project involving the archive of ZEP live recordings
JASON BONHAM'S LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE was formed in 2009 to pay tribute to Bonham's father
"It was meant to be part of my way of expressing my love for music and expressing myself with a tip of the hat to my father," Jason told Mixdown in a 2017 interview
"Soon after doing the 28 shows that we did with an orchestra
It's not us and them; it's about love for LED ZEPPELIN
You guys all knew him as Bonzo; I knew him as dad
Jason launched JASON BONHAM'S LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE two years after taking part in LED ZEPPELIN's aforementioned one-off performance at London's O2 Arena tribute concert for friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun
which saw Jason behind the drums in place of his late father
He told the Chicago Tribune about JASON BONHAM'S LED ZEPPELIN EVENING: "We're not LED ZEPPELIN
We give it 150 percent energy and time to make it as good as we can make it to give people that feeling and make people go back to their youth
"I never wanted it to be we are just playing music
It had to be personal with stories to tell people what Dad was like at home
It's nice to know that so many people love hearing that music played in a live environment."
The performance includes LED ZEPPELIN favorites as well as deep cuts
JASON BONHAM'S LED ZEPPELIN EVENING has worked up a number of fresh inclusions on the setlist
"Achilles Last Stand" and the arrangement of "Dazed And Confused" from "The Song Remains The Same" concert movie
"The hardest thing is picking the songs," Bonham told the Chicago Tribune
" "There's more deeper songs — 'In The Light'
'Four Sticks' — songs that never got played live and never made it to a ZEPPELIN show
The list could go on for the more obscure ones that fans like to hear
'Stairway To Heaven' and 'What Is And What Should Never Be'
This show is one of the most fun things to do because I get to play all this great music in front of people that really appreciate it."
Cloudy this evening with thunderstorms developing after midnight

A rare drum artifact from late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham is attracting big attention at auction
bidding is up to $21,000 on the rare rock music artifact
Bonham
guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones formed Led Zeppelin in 1968 and the group disbanded in 1980 after the drummer’s untimely death at age 32
the drumhead featuring Bonham’s symbol of interlocking rings was used throughout Led Zeppelin’s iconic 1973 and 1975 North American tours
“The drumhead earned rock immortality in The Song Remains the Same
the band’s iconic concert film shot at Madison Square Garden in July 1973,” a Heritage press release noted
“It last saw the stage during the group’s legendary five-night run at London’s Earls Court in May 1975
The John Bonham drumhead featuring his personal symbol is on the auction block
the iconic John Bonham drumhead with his symbol resurfaced in 1987 when Edwin Shirley Shipping — a touring company for the biggest acts in rock music — was clearing its warehouse
During a bonfire set to destroy abandoned gear at the warehouse
Bonham’s drumhead was rescued from the flames
“John Bonham is widely considered the greatest rock drummer of all time,” said Garry Shrum
Heritage Auctions’ director of Music Memorabilia and Concert Posters said in a statement
“And this is the most significant Bonham artifact ever to come to public auction
It’s astonishing that it survived – and now it’s here.”

More performs live on stage during a concert by English rock band Led Zeppelin on the third of three nights at Madison Square Garden
The concert movie 'The Song Remains the Same' was filmed over the three nights from 27th to 29th July at the venue
Heritage noted in its press release about the Bonham bass drumhead that “with authentication
this museum-worthy relic could set a new auction record for Bonham memorabilia.”
The film is the first-ever documentary about Led Zeppelin authorized by the band and includes new interviews with Robert Plant
Becoming Led Zeppelin opened in an IMAX-only engagement on Feb

Directed by Bernard MacMahon and Allison McGourty
Becoming Led Zeppelin debuted on digital streaming via premium video on demand on April 4

Bonham, Texas -- A gorgeous spring day, Tuesday, April 22 set the perfect stage for a special occasion at Bonham Public Library
this popular public library will be celebrating 125 years of service in 2026
Its goal to unite the community can be seen not only in books to read
but in deeply enriching (free!) events for all
had Bonham Public Library facilitating the delivery of free black gum sapling trees to kids from all over Fannin County
our small corner of Texas is participating in a nationwide effort
with a broader goal of giving 100,000 tree saplings to kids this year
Youth Librarian Chris Clark had hoped at least 100 kids would sign up to receive the free gift in celebration of Earth Day
a surprising 483 children signed up for the program
parents and teachers jumped to register for the meaningful giveaway
the free trees will grow alongside the children who plant them
Serving as a symbolic reminder and a physical actualization of the enrichment the library serves to provide
Bonham's library is up to the task and fueled by its passionate employees
Among them is the newly appointed Library Director
McGraw is a highly motivated and educated individual with niche skills in development that should serve her well as the visionary.
With no shortage of ideas for the library's future
McGraw invites Fannin residents to come on out! and see for yourselves all that the library has to offer
We are not a quiet library, McGraw added
attesting to their uniquely vibrant and flourishing atmosphere
Though many events cater to youth and families
offering an impressive 27,000 items ready for you to explore
Everything inside this library has been given to us by donors, Stacey stated
both a proud testament to the generosity of our community
Bonham Public Library is certainly more than your average run-of-the-mill library
It hosts a diverse variety of public amenities
McGraw highlights that summer reading programs will be starting soon
and parents can come register their children in-person starting May 19
Much like Free Trees for Kids demonstrates, Bonham Public Library is all about it's people - and how much it can bloom all depends on whether we decide to show up and receive all this library has to offer
Fannin county residents can check out the library's ever-expanding events and material in person or online at cityofbonham.org

Bonham ISD is facing a civil rights complaint after Black and Latino students and former employees claimed the district failed to address continued racial harassment and abuse from other students
included two students and alleged the district intentionally discriminates against Black students and students with disabilities by “perpetuating a racially hostile environment and a hostile educational environment on the basis of disability.”
five more students have come forward with their own experiences and claim harassment would often occur in front of teachers and other staff without intervention
and he will have this memory the rest of his life," Johnny Gorden
a parent of one of the students included in the complaint
"These were his learning years and look what he was taught
Bonham ISD did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday
One complaint claims a student with a disability was “harshly punished” by the district for conduct related to his disability and was denied necessary accommodations
Another student said they’ve been repeatedly called racial slurs
The complaint claims when their parents addressed the school’s principal
the principal said they would take the issue seriously the next school year
But the student says they continued to be the subject of racist comments
A former custodian at Bonham High School alleged a student hung a noose in the school gym and students called him and other custodians racial slurs
The complaint also says white students do not face punishments for conduct similar to their Black and Latino peers
The complaint is asking for an investigation by the Department of Justice

Robert Plant never thought a documentary about Led Zeppelin would be possible. Not, say, for reasons of vanity or hesitancy to discuss the past, as he indulged this very outlet two years ago
barely offered himself up for interviews when he was alive
a practice that was often mirrored by the rest of the group until they broke up in 1980
How could you tell the full story of Zeppelin without Bonzo’s insights
There’s just not enough,’” director Bernard MacMahon recalls
you’re going to leave disappointed.) But MacMahon and his producing partner
knew that the documentary’s release hinged on the discovery of previously unheard Bonham material
And it was going to be a mad quest to find it
“We were searching and searching and searching,” MacMahon says
“It was imperative to have his voice.” The duo got a decent start by fielding a tape from a British music journalist of the era who was lucky to secure time with Page and Bonham
“It was a ton of noise that made it sound like an espionage film,” he says
MacMahon then consulted the man behind Led Zeppelin’s website
made a point to collect “every single thing” he found in relation to the band
“He shared with us this bootleg recording of John and Robert talking to an Australian journalist,” he explains
“The recording wasn’t good enough for us to use
But I could tell that it was three or four generations copied
We sent it to a lot of people we knew in Australia and hoped for the best.”
One of their sources found someone who recognized the voice of the journalist Graeme Berry
who worked for the radio station Sydney 2SM
The interview was believed to have been conducted in 1971
“The great thing about it was John is completely in the moment
It’s super fresh and it’s got this energy,” MacMahon says
some of which the band didn’t comment on in their other interviews
The interviewer is basically introducing Led Zeppelin to Australia before their first tour there
Who did you look up to?’ Simple but productive questions.”
Sydney 2SM no longer stored tape recordings — a pristine original tape was still crucial — so they instead directed MacMahon and McGourty to the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA)
which took over the bulk of the station’s archives
but they said they didn’t have it,” MacMahon recalls
They said thousands.” Faith struck again: He had previously worked with the audiovisual archive on American Epic
forming a good professional relationship that could be parlayed into a favor
would you mind looking?’ And they said okay
A few months later I got a phone call around midnight from a person who said
“And there was a perfect recording of John speaking
They had found this tape in an unmarked box that read ‘Slade,’ another British band
They were so diligent going through everything
The NFSA sent the tape to MacMahon and McGourty’s facility so they could copy the best possible sound off it
Becoming Led Zeppelin secured about 90 minutes of never-heard Bonham interviews — including two additional radio spots that were unearthed shortly thereafter
also provided the team with home movies from their childhood
which captured endearing footage of Baby Bonzo playing his first-ever drum kit with just a snare and cymbal
This material guided the production into what became the beating heart of the final cut
“The tapes have John talking about his bandmates and what he feels about them,” MacMahon says
“He was always commenting on useful things that the rest of his bandmates hadn’t talked about
He was the one who talked about how nobody wanted to book the band in their home country
he lets the viewer know that they barely know each other
and I know Robert a bit better.’ These are relative strangers to each other even by the end of their first year

Some pieces of rock history survive by sheer chance—and this is one of them
It then went into storage and was presumed lost—until a 1987 warehouse fire nearly turned it to ash
During a cleanup at Edwin Shirley Trucking
the logistics company that handled tours for rock’s biggest acts
the drumhead was discovered in a pile of gear slated for destruction
The flames had already claimed Alice Cooper’s infamous disappearing cabinet and stage guillotine
Bonham’s drumhead was moments from the same fate when a former roadie recognized it and pulled it from the fire
Now authenticated, photo-matched, and packed with provenance
the piece is poised to set a new auction record for Bonham memorabilia
“John Bonham is widely considered the greatest rock drummer of all time,” says Garry Shrum
Heritage Auctions’ Director of Music Memorabilia
It’s astonishing that it survived—and now it’s here.”
But the auction is more than just a tribute to Bonzo
It isn’t just about instruments and artifacts—it’s a visual journey through the golden age of rock
The poster selection alone features a veritable potpourri of the rock royalty of the 1960s
offering collectors a colorful array of concert art as hypnotic as it is historic
The poster lineup reads like a backstage pass to the greatest shows of the 1960s
These are the five standout lots that I'll be watching
and trip-tastic designs typical of 1960s concert posters
It will be interesting to see where they land when the proverbial auction dust settles:
1. Grateful Dead 1965 San Jose Acid Test PosterThis Acid Test poster is a rare survivor from the first-ever
then newly named Grateful Dead (formerly billed as The Warlocks) performance
It is more than a concert promo; it was a psychedelic genesis moment for the generations of fans who followed Jerry Garcia and the GD across the country from the 1960s to 1995
This poster doesn't have the panache of many 1960s rock posters
2. The Beatles 1966 Candlestick Park Final Show PosterThe Fab Four’s last-ever live concert was immortalized in a poster signed by iconic artist Wes Wilson
historic poster that marked the end of an era
3. Woodstock Festival 1969 Concert PosterArnold Skolnick’s iconic dove-and-guitar design defined a generation and features the brilliant all-star lineup
This original is backed with a signed Certificate of Authenticity because peace
4. Janis Joplin with Big Brother, 1968 Silver PosterA silkscreen gem from Cincinnati
this poster's design is half photograph and half artistic rendering of the superstar singer
The show featured Janis paired with Big Brother & the Holding Company
5. BG-69 Jimi Hendrix & Jefferson Airplane, 1967 Fillmore PosterPart of the legendary Bill Graham series
this first-and-only printing San Francisco concert poster for the Jefferson Airplane
and a then unknown Jimi Hendrix playing at the Fillmore Auditorium features the familiar swirling art of the Summer of Love
a wearable memento from the larger-than-life tour
What makes this auction stand out isn’t just the big names—it’s the range and variety of the accumulated treasures up for sale
Each piece in this auction isn’t just memorabilia—it’s a memory
These mementos form a tapestry of rock’s most transformative decades and carry the stories
and spirit of the golden age of rock and roll
There will never be anything like it again

When it comes to drummers who changed the course of rock music forever
John Bonham’s name stands tall — and louder than most
As the rhythmic powerhouse behind Led Zeppelin
and unstoppable feel like no one else before or since
His influence stretches across genres and generations
Here’s a celebration of 15 reasons why Bonham’s legacy still thunders through every drum kit today
Pat—they were magnificent with us and helped us a lot."
Robert Plant's friendship with bandmate John Bonham helped him through the grief of losing his son
"I’d spent so much time trying to be a decent dad, but at the same time I was really attracted to what I was doing in Zeppelin," Plant told Classic Rock in 2020
Would it have been any different if I was there
if I’d been around?' So I was thinking about the merit of my life at that time
and whether or not I needed to put a lot more into the reality of the people that I loved and cared for—my daughter and my family generally
- YouTubewww.youtube.com
In an interview with Dan Rather for AXS TV, Plant elaborated on the difficulty of maintaining a "normal family life" during the "hysteria" of the mid-to-late '70s
noting how Bonham's presence was key at that time
and both my wife and I had strong families and good support," he said
"John Bonham from Zeppelin and his wife
Pat—they were magnificent with us and helped us a lot
The vocalist gave an example of Bonham's reliability to Classic Rock
explaining how the drummer would show up to his house in a "six-door Mercedes limousine" with a chauffeur driver's hat
and sometimes we’d go out for a drink," he said
"He’d put the chauffeur driver’s hat on
and I’d sit in the back of this stretch Mercedes and we’d go out on the lash
Then he’d put his hat back on and drive me home
and we’d go past cops and they’d go: 'There’s another poor fucker working for the rich!' But he was very supportive at that time
So I did go back [to Zeppelin] for one more flurry."
- YouTubewww.youtube.com
That "flurry" of activity resulted in one more studio album of new Led Zeppelin material: 1979's In Through the Out Door
which featured the artful ballad "All My Love," a tribute to Plant's late child
("For many hours and days that pass ever soon / The tides have caused the flame to dim," he sings on the track
the hand to the loom / Is this to end or just begin?")
"I think it was just paying tribute to the joy that he gave us as a family
and in a crazy way still does occasionally
often," Plant told Rather of the song
and the contrast and the focus changes as time goes on
It was a long time ago that we lost him...and every now and again he turns up in songs
for no other reason than I miss him a lot."

At the annual European Gull Scream Championship
imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
but has since expanded to include 70 people from 14 different countries
It recently celebrated its fifth anniversary
Though the instructions appeared simple–register online
then “screech and behave as a seagull” at the event in Belgium–participants went all out
even performing tricks like snatching snacks out of a bag of treats
birthing a baby seagull puppet from an egg
and spreading their wings in handmade costumes
Participants were then graded by five judges, which included scientists, local conservationists, and legislators, according to The New York Times
which added that “each jury member can give up to 15 points for the screech and five points for behavior
for a possible total score of up to 100 points.” There were also three categories
People wound up at the event for a variety of reasons
and it turned out all of the winners had their own relationships to seagulls
Juvenile category winner Cooper Wallace, from the UK, “launched his screeching career after he was pecked by a seagull when he was younger,” according to the BBC
Adult category winner Anna Brynald, of Denmark, was brought there by grief. After her best friend passed way, she “couldn't see the meaning in life," she told the CBC
"Then I remembered that's the beautiful [thing]
that means I can do literally everything I want
I just want to do what's fun and not think about what other people think about me."

John Stamos improvised his own drum part to a famous nu-metal song
(He also joined that band to record a new version of their 1970 song "Forever" for the 1992 LP Summer in Paradise.) He recently stretched out even further for a video on the drum-centric YouTube channel Drumeo
presenting a colorful take on Papa Roach’s 2000 nu-metal staple "Last Resort."
The viral clip is part of a series where drummers link up with the Drumeo team
listen back to them with the drums removed
They’re given the freedom to approach the material however they want—some choose to carefully craft beats through repetition and writing out charts
while others improvise with little to no preparation
Stamos essentially chooses the latter route
- YouTubewww.youtube.com
Stamos opens the piece with an admission: that this task "scares the shit out of drummers." But he enthuses about the challenge
a good drummer,' that means more to me than
'You’re a good actor' or something." After determining that he doesn't know the song in question
he works out some beat options and runs through three takes
the final being the most fluid and confident
he listens back to the original song (drums included) and has no idea who the band is
His rendition earned some hilarious responses in the YouTube comments
"I had no idea seeing Uncle Jesse playing Papa Roach would be exactly what I need to start my Friday" and "Never in my 32 years on earth did I ever expect I'd watch a video of John Stamos playing Papa Roach on drums." The most notable came from Papa Roach themselves
- YouTubewww.youtube.com
Stamos also took part in a special one-off Drumeo video where he worked at his home with the channel’s content director
Brandon Toews—an effort to craft a new drum solo ahead of a Beach Boys concert
"You guys have reignited my love for drums
and that’s hard to do for an old guy," he tells the crew in the intro
I’ve really been into being a drummer again
I don’t know if I’d even be alive because it gave me a purpose
gave me an identity." The drum solo also has an emotional component for Stamos
who includes a percussive nod to a late friend
former Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins
managing to transcend gear heads and reach a wider audience with creative content like the "Hears for the First Time" series

the story took a surprising turn when a customer found a clever way to help
The employee shared that he was working at a well-known US pizza delivery chain store in the early 2000s
“For anyone who has ever worked in the US food service industry
you're probably familiar with what a failing dumpster fire of a restaurant looks like
On many nights it was just me and one driver taking care of the whole restaurant.”
He further shared his grievances as he mentioned that he did not have any breaks during his shift
"Breaks were out of the question because the restaurant would be completely unattended
the recent franchise buyers were complete and total idiots who would show up unannounced to yell at me
and the overwhelming majority of our customers ordered once and then never again
We had pizza deliveries taking 90+ minutes
After talking about his workplace's toxic environment
the employee goes on to narrate how one day a homeless man walked into the store to enquire whether the shop had any leftover pizzas
11 pm rolls around as I'm kind of standing by the phones watching the clock tick down
He introduced himself as Ricky and asked if we had any leftover pizzas that nobody picked up."
The employee mentioned that he apologetically informed Ricky that there were no leftovers
"He says he likes the meat lovers' pizza
Since he isn't a sociopath like some of our customers
Ricky at this point is so thankful that he sits down in one of our chairs and starts bouncing up and down like a little kid."
The former employee had also paid for the pizza on behalf of the homeless man which cost him 12 dollars
equivalent to the wages of an hour and a half at the shop
He calls the transaction a "Good deal." Soon
things took an ugly turn as the manager arrived
in comes the area manager - the brother of the franchise owner
He begins shouting as usual and accuses me of stealing from the store,” he wrote

who is a regular customer at the shop and witnessed the commotion
and leaves." Soon both Ricky and Henry get their respective pizzas and leave the store with the duo spotted having a chat outside the shop
The employee then explained how Henry devised a clever plan to help feed Ricky
This was unusual because he was generally a once-a-week guy
I also found it unusual that he ordered a meat lovers' pizza instead of his usual supreme
and 20 minutes later Henry called again apologetically to cancel it
Ricky rolled in right around that time asking for a pizza
I just so had one that was going to go uneaten sitting under the heater."
media1.tenor.com
The so-called "coincidence" soon started to take place every night as the user narrated
Henry would then call again and cancel and Ricky would coincidentally roll in
This went on for months." Unfortunately
the clever scheme finally came to an end after one of his colleagues snitched on him and reported the full story to the manager
the user shared that the restaurant went under about a year later
I've had to deal with homeless people more than a few times when I worked retail
They usually have some nasty problems."

Washington make a habit of hitting the slopes
a longstanding ski and snowboard film company
asks as the nuns from the Mary Immaculate Queen Order take to the slopes
“They’re nuns on the runs,” as it says in a video that’s now gone viral
carry their skis from the church after completing their Sunday tasks
Then they traverse the mountain with aplomb
Some wear goggles and one or two even take a spill into the fluffy snow
Their slopes of choice are at Idaho’s Schweitzer Basin
The video, which now has over 203K likes on Instagram and 598.6K views on TikTok
is prompting a bevy of delighted responses from viewers
If the beauty of nature really is God’s creation
for these nuns skiing must be “a real spiritual experience,” as the video shares
“They have the habit of going skiing to help free their spirit
It’s like a page out of the 2008 book Nuns Having Fun, (or its subsequent calendars) which featured photographs of nuns from the 1950s and 1960s bowling or playing in the surf. But why should we be surprised? As one commenter shared
“My aunt is a nun and she used to go roller skating when she was younger
But she'd change into regular sports clothes
And she still rides her bike up to this day in her uniform
We tend to forget that nuns are human individuals
they need to keep their bodies healthy through exercise
But the appreciation for the Great Outdoors doesn’t stop here
he was once asked if it was “becoming of a cardinal to ski,” and famously quipped
"It's unbecoming for a cardinal to ski badly."
As writer John Howard shared in the 1979 issue of SKI Magazine
the Pope made a pronouncement “just seconds after his inauguration as the 264th successor to St
Peter and Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church
that ‘I will ski again when they let me.’” Later on
the pope was known as the “Daredevil of the Tatras,” referencing the European mountain range
Pope John Paul II continued to ski for nine years
according to the International Skiing History Association
“I can give an example of how to have a good time – without alcohol
and also with the communal spirit of the mountain.”

I've been studying people in their 30s and early 40s
My colleagues and I even coined a new term for this often-overlooked life stage: established adulthood — defined as ages 30 to 45
It’s a time packed with major milestones: building careers
or deciding not to follow any of those paths
It’s also when people start juggling demanding work responsibilities with caregiving for children
or aging parents — what my colleagues and I call “the career and care crunch.”
I expected to hear mostly stories of stress
But as we gathered data from hundreds of interviews and surveys

It’s important to note that not everyone experiences this phase the same way
The original research largely focused on middle-class North Americans
For people navigating systemic barriers — whether financial
or otherwise — the “best years” might look very different
And while the early 2020s were defined by a global pandemic that intensified pressure on parents and caregivers
many people are now navigating a post-pandemic world with more clarity about their priorities
this reset has reaffirmed the value of their 30s — a time when they gained emotional strength
many now view their 30s as a period of growth

Rush drummer Neil Peart grieved by hitting the open road
This turbulent period began in August 1997
Peart referred to the subsequent months as a "waking nightmare," with he and his wife
"It soon became apparent that Jackie’s world was completely shattered forever," the musician wrote
and she never came back together again…If she couldn’t have Selena
she no longer wanted anything—she just wanted to die." Tragically
Taylor was diagnosed with terminal cancer ("of course it was a broken heart," Peart wrote) and passed away the following June
leaving a "second nightmare" to process
- YouTubewww.youtube.com
Peart felt disinterested in the outside world
including his music career—at Selena’s funeral
"Consider me retired." Seeking some kind of path forward
he turned to his trusted motorcycle and began an extended journey—from Canada to Alaska
traversing back roads and typically staying in small-town motels
I had determined that my mission now was to protect a certain essence inside me," he wrote
as though I held my cupped hands around a guttering candle."
Ghost Rider documents this quest through Peart’s reflections, journal entries, and letters, following his grieving process as he grows to find comfort once again through nature, music, and human connection. It was a long process, even for the other people in his life. "Everybody was so worried about me," Peart recalled in the 2010 documentary Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage
I got a postcard' or 'He called.’ They would all reassure each other
anything could have happened to me—even by accident
- YouTubewww.youtube.com
But he eventually wound up in Southern California, starting fresh. “When I first moved here it was remarkable, because my life was one suitcase, a bicycle, and a boom box,” he told Rolling Stone’s Brian Hiatt
I rented a little apartment by the Santa Monica Pier
Peart also found the inspiration to revive his old band: Rush recorded 2002’s Vapor Trails
making two more LPs (2007’s Snakes & Arrows and 2012’s Clockwork Angels) and staging a handful of acclaimed tours
The band’s last run, the R40 Live Tour, wrapped in 2015, after which point Peart effectively retired. He died in January 2020
after a private three-and-a-half-year battle with brain cancer
leaving behind an immense legacy—not only of music but also personal resilience

Representative photo of a server with a customer
They say hospitality is about more than just serving food—it's about serving people
But when someone crosses the line with rude behavior
sometimes they need a reminder of how to treat others
A story shared on Reddit’s r/pettyrevenge tells of a server whose friend encountered a particularly rude customer—one who left what looked like a generous $100 tip
the server didn’t just get mad—they got even
What followed left the customer stunned and earned the server serious praise online
The server had dealt with the man before—he was a regular
and often found at the bar watching whatever game was on
Nothing about him ever caused trouble—until one particular day
“I’ve never had a problem with him until he came in one time with a date,” the server wrote
and the server stepped away briefly to grab it
they noticed the man placing a $100 bill on the table
'Watch this' as he puts down a hundred dollar bill on the table
you weren’t supposed to see that'," they wrote
He was probably trying to impress the woman
But they didn't care about it as they needed money at that time and their focus was on the $100 tip
they discovered that the $100 bill was fake
“That means this freaking guy planned this out to impress this woman
It was so frustrating because I needed the money but at the same time I thought it was because I did a great job,” the waiter said
They narrated the entire incident to their manager who thought it was “ridiculous.”
but when their manager asked if they wanted to take care of the couple’s order and maybe even the score
With the fake $100 bill tucked in their pocket
“I get to their table and they instantly recognize me
the woman seemed normal but the guy looked like he was nervous
I pretended nothing happened all the way until I got their check,” the server described
they placed it down on the table along with the fake $100 bill
not sure if you remember me from last time but I believe you forgot this
just returning it because I believed it was too much.”
clearly picking up on the man’s shady move
The server walked away without saying more
who had witnessed the entire awkward scene unfold
“One can only assume that the guy didn’t want to tip on his card so he wrote obnoxiously big zeros on the tip and that $50 just happened to be where the woman was sitting
so I’m hoping she had placed it there,” the server reflected
adding that they hoped the woman eventually saw the red flags that the man showed
The server’s story was upvoted by 15,000 people and over 730 left comments on it. u/tricularia commented
“My dad always told me that if you want to know how someone will act in a long-term relationship
pay attention to how they treat servers in restaurants
I am definitely noticing a pattern there.”

u/Its_only__forever shared their own similar experience
“As someone that has been in the industry for over 2 decades
I had a party once that tipped me in pennies spread across the table when they left
I scooped that s**t up so fast and chased them out and just dumped it at their feet with an 'I think you forgot something.' Yes

“As a woman who was raised by a single mother who was a server for many many years
I ended a relationship with a guy because he didn't tip.”

u/Careless_Candle6771 shared from her personal experience
"The place I work at is a hot spot for 1st dates and any time I cash a couple out
The dude usually says no as the merchant copy is being printed and then I can see the $0 tip and I go
"ok!" And then just leave it face up on the table anyway
do I love when the women run back with cash saying
