A week ahead of the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte Callaway has released a special version of its Chrome Tour golf balls The "May Major" edition of the Chrome Tour golf balls are adorned with symbols of host city Charlotte is known as the "Queen City" after being named in honor of King George III's wife Shop May Major Callaway golf balls From a performance standpoint, the Charlotte-themed Chrome Tour balls should play and perform like the standard Chrome Tour balls that released in 2024 They feature a four-piece construction with a large rubber core encased in two mantles covered by a thin Callaway updated the HyperFast Soft core to help golfers generate more speed and distance while the thin urethane cover is easily grabbed by the grooves of wedges and short irons to generate spin on approach shots bolstering it in some areas with clusters of circular dimples to make the ball more stable in windy conditions The Callaway "May Major" Chrome Tour balls will cost $54.99 per dozen and are available for order on callawaygolf.com while supplies last Shop new May Major Callaway golf balls The Elyte mini driver has a new Thermoforged crown and Ai10x face The Elyte mini driver features the same adjustable weight ports as the Elyte driver family The adjustable sleeve allows golfers to customize their ball flight by changing the loft and lie of the club Sam De'Ath testing the Callaway Elyte Mini Driver on the golf course Sam De’Ath tests the Callaway Elyte Mini Driver on the course to see what performance gains could be had The Callaway Elyte mini driver is an extremely versatile club that is packed with technology to provide power and forgiveness The deeper face and adjustability throughout the head make it the perfect alternative to a driver from the tee but the easy high-launching nature combined with the 13.5° head option could see this club act as a strong fairway wood replacement Ai10x Face provides plenty of power and forgiveness Three adjustable weight ports help dial in ball flights Not as strong from the fairway as others in the market Despite being one of the larger mini driver heads on the market the Elyte mini driver has been designed with enhanced shaping which Callaway claims offers improved aerodynamics over its predecessor resulting in more clubhead speed and ultimately more distance The new Thermoforged carbon crown is a feature that runs throughout the whole Elyte range and I think looks superb The banner strip running across the top of the face acts as a great alignment feature helping me set the face square to the target more regularly This lightweight carbon fiber crown also plays a crucial role in providing a solid feel and muted sound through impact - something I particularly enjoy over a louder The Elyte mini driver at address using a tee(Image credit: Future)The Elyte mini driver at address from the fairway(Image credit: Future)So how did the Callaway Elyte mini driver perform and who do I think it’s most suited for There are two main reasons golfers will be delving into the mini driver world; firstly you may be seeking more accuracy from the tee but not wanting to sacrifice the yardage lost by hitting a 3-wood you might want to find a little more distance than what your fairway wood offers giving you the potential to reach the green on longer par-4’s or attack par-5’s on a more regular basis which allowed me to put the ball in play more often The playing length of 43.75” is also another reason why I felt in more control than my driver and when gripping down on the shaft I could take another inch or so off the length As a fairly high club head speed player (116mph) and someone who spins the ball a fair amount, my TaylorMade Qi35 driver is designed to launch and spin fairly low Having a higher lofted and spinning option of the Elyte mini driver definitely provided me with a little more confidence when I needed to hit the fairway The Elyte mini driver actually surprised me with how well it performed from the fairway The fact it is offered in both an 11.5° and 13.5 ° head options and both come with adjustable hosels as standard means golfers can precisely dial in the loft of their mini driver and tailor it to their specific needs which I found to be particularly effective when hitting this club from the ground I found a few shots felt as though they were struck fairly low on the face but because of the multiple sweet spots and variable face thickness the ball was still launching high and for the most part At $449/£449 the Callaway Elyte mini driver isn’t a small investment but I think it’s well worth doing so if you’re serious about improving your game at the top end of the bag I always believe if I’m hitting the ball well from the tee and find myself putting the ball in play regularly that I can produce a decent score on the day and the Elyte mini driver certainly lets me do that Subscribe to the Golf Monthly newsletter to stay up to date with all the latest tour news head-to-heads and buyer’s guides from our team of experienced experts offering advice on equipment to all levels of golfers Sam heads up any content around fairway woods putters and golf balls but also writes about other equipment from time to time.Sam graduated from Webber International University in 2017 with a BSc Marketing Management degree while playing collegiate golf His experience of playing professionally on both the EuroPro Tour and Clutch Pro Tour means Sam has extensive knowledge of golf equipment and what works for different types of golfer Sam’s current What’s In The Bag Driver: TaylorMade Qi35 9° Irons: TaylorMade CB (6-PW) P770 (4-5) Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM10 Putter: Kevin Burns 9307 Ball: Titleist Pro V1x you will then be prompted to enter your display name Traffic on I-70 at the Millersburg exit just before 2 p.m Officials reported crashes on Interstate 70 and U.S A noninjury crash blocked one lane of eastbound Interstate 70 near the Millersburg exit in Callaway County Monday afternoon Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F posted on X at 1:36 p.m that troopers were investigating the crash which is between Columbia and Kingdom City The Missouri Department of Transportation Central District reported that the crash was cleared around 2:30 p.m 🚹Crash Blocking EB I-70 @ 136MM🚹Troopers are investigating a two vehicle non-injury crash blocking the right lane on eastbound I-70 at the 136 mile marker (between Columbia and Kingdom City). Please slow down & be careful when traveling through the area in the passing lane. pic.twitter.com/O0JyALBk5N The area saw road work begin last week with exit ramps to and from eastbound I-70 toward Route J closing for months Just before MSHP posted about the crash, the Fulton Police Department reported another crash involving a grease truck in the area of U.S Fulton Police later reported that the traffic near second crash was back to normal around 3:00 p.m. there are no recent results for popular commented articles Your browser is out of date and potentially vulnerable to security risks. We recommend switching to one of the following browsers: Eastbound Interstate 70 was at a standstill Monday afternoon after a crash near the Millersburg exit in Callaway County No one was hurt in the crash at the 136-mile marker between Columbia and Kingdom City the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote in a social media post The collision blocked one lane of eastbound I-70 The patrol says two people are involved but no one was hurt Matthew Sanders is the digital content director at ABC 17 News ABC 17 News is committed to providing a forum for civil and constructive conversation Please keep your comments respectful and relevant. If you strike your irons consistently well and don’t need much help with distance or forgiveness, the best players’ irons could be for you there are far more forgiving and distance-boosting irons available Callaway makes two players’ irons the forged one-piece Apex 24 CB and hollow body Apex 24 Pro Callaway effectively started what is today a hugely popular Players’ Distance Iron category back in 2014 when they unveiled their first Apex model that teamed a forged head with cavity back performance and a stronger loft Decent club golfers fell head over heels in love with the idea and today the category has evolved to include lots of hollow body The category is spearheaded by the popular TaylorMade P790. The best Players’ Distance irons pack a lot of distance and forgiveness potential into head shapes that look great Expect stronger lofts than players’ irons and typically you won’t want to be playing off much more than a 12 -14 handicap to think about playing models in this category The best players’ distance irons will typically create more speed and distance than blades and players’ models and while they may not generate quite as much spin Callaway makes two Players’ Distance Irons the Apex Ai200 and the super costly Apex Ti Fusion the mid-handicap iron category is the biggest and consequently most lucrative in the game as this is the area most golfer’s games sit within Game Improver Irons are never quite as sleek as players’ or players’ distance models but they are hugely versatile and offer great distance and forgiveness potential Most golfers will notice how cavity-back game improver irons don’t sound or feel quite as nice as a one-piece forged blade or players’ iron but the attraction here is when shots are sprayed across the face of the iron golfers can still expect to see reasonable results The best Mid-handicap irons usually fall into the hands of golfers with a handicap of 8 or above they’re good for golfers who value extra forgiveness over looks the forged Apex Ai300 and cast Ai Smoke irons both sit within this category These irons tend to be the most forgiving, with their bigger, chunky heads being packed with technology to make it as easy as possible for golfers of all abilities to get the ball airborne and heading in the right direction. They won’t win any awards purely on looks or feel, but if you struggle to hit irons well, the best high-handicap irons could help you In today’s market also look out for higher lofted High Launch irons which are trending up Models like the Ai Smoke HL are designed for more average-speed players to help flight shots for optimal spin Callaway’s Ai Smoke Max Fast iron is also lighter to boost club speed both forged and cast irons were made of molten metal Forged irons come from billets of steel stamped under massive force into a clubhead shape in several stages which compresses and aligns the grain for a claimed greater feel Cast heads are created by molten steel poured into molds Casting technology has moved on massively and it’s said heat treatment after casting combined with the type of steel used today means a cast head can feel very much like a forged one so if you’re unsure if you can feel the difference don’t think forged irons are better quality Larger amounts of offset are usually found in game improver and high-handicap iron models By setting the face behind the hosel there’s a little more time to square the face at impact and the center of gravity is positioned further back so it’s easier to flight shots Better player irons generally have less offset so the leading edge is much more in line with the hosel This makes the club a little easier to ‘shape’ as the center of gravity is further forward hence why shot shapers often love forged irons Best muscleback blade iron: Callaway Apex 24 MB – View Offer Best tour iron: Callaway Apex 24 CB – View Offer Best forged players’ iron: Callaway Apex 24 Pro – View Offer Best players’ distance iron: Callaway Apex Ai200 – View Offer Best forged mid-handicap iron: Callaway Apex Ai300 – View Offer Fastest ball speed of any Callaway iron: Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Irons – View Offer Best for forgiveness: Callaway Paradym AI Smoke HL Irons – View Offer forged hollow-body iron that mixes performance and precision To test golf equipment, we create a controlled indoor environment at Keele Golf Centre and use a premium tour-level golf ball (the Titleist Pro V1x). To ensure fairness we like to switch manufacturers for the Top Gear test ball each year. For 2024 we’ve used the Titleist Pro V1x. The brand revealed the latest Pro V1x model in 2023 and Titleist’s Senior Director of Golf Ball Research and Engineering Mike Madson says “Consistency means when a golfer tees up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x every properly executed shot they make is going to deliver the performance they expect and the performance they trust.” Thanks to the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x mopping up mountains of tour wins across all global tours we know the model is trusted by the world’s very best Speak to any golf club engineer about product testing and they all talk about needing a repeatable reliable strike to offer any sort of valuable comparison whilst we accept not all of the equipment included within our tests was designed for our test pro what our data shows is a great comparison of how clubs in each particular category differ which is hugely valuable in helping you narrow your choice as a consumer during which our test pro missed a target green at 170 to 200 yards no more than a dozen times he also loves hitting golf balls all day long Neil Wain is the perfect club tester due to his consistency in delivering accurate and reliable comparative data We would of course always recommend attending a proper fitting session to ensure any purchase is tailored to your game READ NEXT: Best TaylorMade 2024 Irons BECOME A TODAY’S GOLFER MEMBER: Unlimited access to premium content and exclusive rewards! Simon Daddow is the former Equipment Editor for Today’s Golfer Having tested and played more than 10,000 clubs in his life what he doesn’t know about golf clubs isn’t worth knowing By Simon Daddow Timberlake x Nike shoe collab early access the Callaway Apex Ti Fusion irons and they completely changed my mindset about golf equipment Let me start off by saying that I am not a gear head “a poor craftsman blames his tools.” Always believing that if I wasn’t hitting it well For the last decade I used the same set of irons that I was fit for back in college. And for a long time, they did the job — or so I thought. That is until I got my hands on a brand-new set of Callaway Apex Ti Fusion irons.  The moment I opened the box and excitedly peeled off the plastic It was that Christmas-morning kind of excitement that you just can’t fake It made me feel like I was holding a weapon I couldn’t get to a simulator fast enough.  they had completely shattered my very stubborn long-standing mindset about golf equipment The titanium face and forged hollow-body construction gave me effortless power on every shot It felt like the ball was exploding off the face Within a few minutes of hitting these irons I was carrying the ball 10 to 15 yards longer and creating more ball speed than I ever had with my old set.  I also noticed that my shot dispersion was tighter If the occasional off-center strike snuck in I love that they’re still pretty workable controlling both the trajectory and direction of my ball flight.  an iron isn’t truly tested until you’ve hit it from a few tough lies after hitting these from some sketchy spots I can officially say I am impressed.  juicy rough like a hot knife through butter and I was even able to hit my ball out of a divot with no problem while wielding these on the course I have more confidence in my game than before—and for the first time in a long time ALSO AVAILABLE AT: PGA Tour Superstore, Callaway You can get your own set of Callaway Apex Ti Fusion irons by clicking the link above All of our market picks are independently selected and curated by the editorial team 2025 - 11:00 PMWritten by: Callaway Golf Staff share-facebookshare-xshare-whatsappshare-copy-linkCallaway Golf, the industry leader in equipment design, performance, and innovation, announced a new equipment partnership with Jon Rahm and his LIV Golf team Legion XIII “We are happy to partner with a world-class athlete in Jon Rahm and his Legion XIII team,” said Chip Brewer President and CEO of Topgolf Callaway Golf Brands “We’re committed to being an equipment leader wherever top players are competing Now the time is right to cement our relationship with Jon and his team – utilizing his exceptional talent and stature within the game to help engage and excite fans around the globe.” Rahm initially joined Callaway in 2021 and has earned both of his major championship wins – the 2021 U.S Open and the Masters at Augusta in 2023 – while playing their equipment the current setup in Rahm’s bag includes the all-new Elyte Triple Diamond Driver and his team the company can further showcase their innovative equipment at the highest levels “I’m so happy to enhance this incredible relationship with Callaway and also extend it with Legion XIII,” Rahm said “I’ve played the best golf of my career with their equipment over the past four years and they continue to set the bar higher with every new product line I know this partnership will have a tremendously positive impact for me and my teammates.” Volunteer © 2022 - 2025 LIV Golf Inc and LIV Golf Ltd Kris McCormack takes us on a deep dive with the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond Max driver That release was extremely well received by the masses and left us wanting more With the introduction of the Elyte family, Callaway has been continuing to turn heads in the fitting bays and on the course The TD Max is built on a similar 360 Carbon Chassis as the standard TD but bumps up the footprint from 450cc to a full 460cc to add a touch more forgiveness It’s also equipped with the new Ai 10X Face which has shown great results during GOLF’s ClubTest with True Spec during player testing and on major tours around the world ALSO AVAILABLE ON: PGA Tour Superstore, Callaway When I first started my own testing with the Ai Smoke TD Max I instantly appreciated the higher launch and spin the shape of the head and the right biased start line The Elyte TD Max is showing me those same positive tendencies but also offering me an average of 1.8 mph more ball speed Speed is great but the down-range dispersion has also been consistently tighter. Hitting the Smoke TD Max next to the Elyte TD Max the Elyte was averaging an impressive 3 yards of deviation with my carry yardage with all 15 shots moving to the right of the target line The Smoke TD Max was more neutral with the start direction but not as consistent at producing a fade ball flight As someone who hates seeing a left miss, the Elyte was looking like the magic wand I had been missing in my bag Callaway has created a “Tour” shaped head that doesn’t skimp on the spin and hits the ball through a higher window than the standard Elyte TD or the additional new Elyte TD Tour Draw I saw roughly 300 rpms more spin than the other TD models I saw a slightly smaller separation with around 200 rpms of additional spin Living in the low launch and low spin player category I will take all the added spin I can get.  If you are someone who prefers a more traditional shape fights a pull or a hook and needs a little extra launch and spin the Elyte TD Max could be your weapon of choice off the tee for 2025 This could also be your driver of choice if you have had previous success with the Triple Diamond family and are looking for a more forgiving upgrade I highly recommend getting fit or doing your own testing with each of the available models If you are ready to pull the trigger and upgrade your long game you can’t go wrong with the new TD Max Want to overhaul your bag for hybrids and irons  Spending thousands of pounds on golf equipment when you’re just starting to play isn’t going to be an option for everyone That’s why Callaway have put together a more affordable option for beginner lady golfers or even ladies wanting an upgrade from a smaller starter set Callaway are one of the leading brands when it comes to ladies’ golf equipment, known for their forgiving designs, regularly creating some of the best ladies’ irons and best ladies’ drivers on the market The REVA 11-piece package set is no exception having been designed with the ultimate combination of distance and forgiveness in mind Whilst this set may not rival Callaway’s higher end ladies’ ranges, the Big Bertha REVA or the Paradym Ai Smoke MAX, it really is one of the best package sets for lady golfers looking for a complete equipment set-up The complete women's golf club set I was pleasantly surprised by the look of the Callaway REVA package set and don’t automatically scream ‘ladies clubs’ which I really liked golf clubs aimed at women were often given pink or purple colour-ways which doesn’t always appeal to the majority of lady golfers Callaway have ensured that this package set is neutral I particularly liked the look of the driver and woods which feature a smooth teardrop shaped crown and a large club face which Callaway say has been engineered for ultimate forgiveness All the clubs felt fairly light to hold at first and I was shocked to see the putter that came with the set was a standard Odyssey model not something that had been made specifically for this package set The Callaway REVA driver looked great behind the ball at address The high contrast graphics on the clubface filled me with confidence standing on the tee almost amplifying the sweet spot to the naked eye I also really liked the white and grey accents on the rear of the crown They not only helped the driver to ‘pop’ against the green of the grass and getting the clubhead square behind the ball and my intended target and I didn’t feel like I had to work much to get the ball in the air As someone who plays with regular flex shafts I was unsure how much the ladies flex was going to affect the launch of the ball and if it would have much impact on the distance of my drives I found it had a slightly higher launch than my current 12.5o driver which is to be expected from the more flexible ladies’ specification shaft that comes with this package set I did struggle a little with distance and dispersion with the Callaway REVA driver as the shaft was slightly too flexible for my swing speed with the launch I achieved from the driver I could feel how the combination of the ladies’ flex shaft and the fixed head weight would benefit any lady golfer with a slower swing speed The Callaway REVA package set comes with one fairway wood This is ideal for lady golfers needing a bit of help to get the ball in the air from fairway lies the white highlights on the clubface helped enlarge its overall appearance giving me confidence that it would be easy to hit I got great height on the shots I hit from the fairway and even more so from tee shots where the ball was raised slightly on the tee and due to the weight of the head on a lighter ladies’ specification shaft I felt it was really easy to get through the ball almost as if the club was doing the work for me but this is only due to my swing speed being a little too fast for the shaft in the fairway wood The hybrids included in the package set are 5 and 6 which offer two different lofts for a variety of shots the hybrids look nice behind the ball at address with the white lines covering the clubface accentuating the sweet spot size for extra confidence with the club head’s weight helping get the golf ball up into the air quickly This gave me a lovely high shot shape due to the low center of gravity that Callaway engineered into this package set The REVA irons were a little different to what I’m used to from a club head shape point of view with their offset face which is a classic Callaway feature The cavity back design allows for a much larger sweet spot on the clubface which in turn helps the irons to be very forgiving on mishits The top edge of the club is quite thick to look down at which did help my feeling of confidence stood over the ball as I knew there was plenty of weight in the club that was going to help me get the ball airborne the heads of the irons felt fairly heavy when used with the W flex shafts this weight helped me to hit through the ball really well and the iron shots I hit from the fairways got up and into the air with ease The only area I struggled with them was chipping around the greens as I didn’t feel they provided much precision The only thing I missed here was the longer irons The Odyssey Stroke Lab putter included in this set was the package’s highlight for me Callaway have included the standard high-end stock model here which is designed to offer maximum forgiveness on the greens The White Hot face insert felt incredibly soft when I hit putts and there was a noticeable improvement in how much roll I got on the golf ball compared to my current putter but after playing a couple of rounds with the #7 women’s putter I’m seriously considering putting one in my bag I really liked the cart bag that comes with the REVA package set. It didn’t feel as if it was lacking quality in comparison to some of the best golf bags that you can purchase individually available in either a black and grey colour-way or a blue It had more than enough pockets and storage space to hold my golf balls and all the drinks and snacks needed for my round The 14-way club divider ensured that every club had its own slot in the top of the golf bag and the material and padding felt robust and hard wearing I was fairly impressed with the REVA package set from Callaway Whilst the set covers a wide range of clubs which should be suitable for most shots on the golf course I did feel it was missing a longer iron and another fairway wood Jumping from a 7-iron to a hybrid leaves a bit of a gap for me personally and for women wanting a set that they can use as they learn the addition of a longer iron may help grow their shot selection as their game improves I did like the feel of both the woods and the irons and had the shaft been a regular flex I think I would have had a much tighter shot dispersion After using this set, I can see how it appeals to a wide range of women, and I think it would be ideal for both absolute beginners as well as those trying to improve their game If you’re looking for a package set at a lower price point If you’re looking for a complete starter package then the Cobra Golf Fly XL Package Set is a great buy and it’s designed specifically for beginners Callaway REVA 11-piece Women’s Package Set  RRP: £1,299.99 | VIEW OFFER  Hand: RH (Black or Blue sets) LH (Black set only)  Sarah Pyett is the Deputy Digital Editor of todays-golfer.com and specializes in ladies’ equipment reviews and golf balls. So confident are they that they’ve created the year’s best driver (and their best ever!) that they’ve even called it Elyte that’s not how you spell elite – Callaway have been loving a seemingly random Y in their product names for the past couple of years but this one makes sense as a nod to the brand’s founding father Through thorough testing with our Local Testing Pro Neil Wane for our Best Drivers Awards we have picked the Callaway Elyte Driver as our Expert’s Choice for 2025 This is the driver that we would recommend to all amateur golfers for 2025 due to the versatility and forgiveness on offer in a clubhead that provides confidence down at address and impressive ball speed across the face If you are an amateur golfer who needs a driver that ticks all the boxes for forgiveness we strongly recommend the Callaway Elyte as your first option to try You can find out exactly how they went about getting to the next level with our in-depth guide to all the Elyte tech and the three other driver models in our handy everything you need to know page but here are the headlines before we dive into the full driver review Callaway invested $2m into a new 3D printer to allow them to create more than 75 driver prototypes before being satisfied they couldn’t the Elyte driver any better They’ve made significant changes to the 460cc head shape to improve speed after identifying a lot of drag around the heel and shaft in the downswing in last year’s Ai Smoke model There’s an all-new Thermoforged Carbon crown which was easier to extend further around the driver body creating a larger crown to boost speed and optimize launch and spin They’ve taken their Artificial Intelligence to new levels in the face throwing loads more data into their computer to produce a face that has 25,000 control points and “no dead spots” What that means is the new face creates fast ball speeds and optimized launch wherever you hit it
and as someone who used Ai Smoke and has now been using Elyte for several rounds “Elyte is effectively 11k MOI effective while remaining within all of the legal limits,” Callaway told us during the product launch in Spain And there’s a new weight system – adjustable perimeter weighting Gone is the rear track and sliding weight found in Paradym and Paradym Ai Smoke replaced with a moveable single 13g tungsten weight and three ports to help you overcome your miss and create your perfect flight Couple that with the various loft and lie settings in the OptiFit hosel and a shaft fitting and you’ll dial in your best-ever driver performance hybrids and irons (which are incredible btw) which you can read about at the links below But let’s dive into my full Callaway Elyte driver review and find out why I think this will challenge for not only the best driver honors, but longest driver and most forgiving driver prizes in 2025 And be sure to check back later this month when I’ll reveal all the Elyte driver data and how it compares with the rivals Our pro is currently carrying out head-to-head testing of more than 30 of this year’s models to further aid your buying decision The look of the Elyte driver is understated On first sighting the sole didn’t blow me away because there’s nothing that screams or shouts excitement and silver with some flashes of ‘Epic’ green It’s more intriguing than exciting with the new shaping and weight ports That isn’t to say it’s not a good-looking driver more that the sole wouldn’t be the one that jumps out from 2025’s offerings One colleague suggested it looked a little like a driver you would find in a high-end package set It’s perhaps not as eye-grabbing as Ai Smoke and it certainly doesn’t have the rack appeal of the new Elyte irons (which are a thing of beauty) but would you rather have a Ferrari that performs like a family car or a family car that performs like a Ferrari going almost unnoticed on the forecourt before leaving you in its dust away from the lights which is what matters to the player standing over it The matt chrome crown has a neat almost flecked finish with subtle Elyte branding There’s nothing here that distracts the eye Its size and shape inspire confidence and the colour of the Ai10x face doesn’t contrast heavily with the topline or head and through the hands it just feels fast and solid Even when you catch one low or out of the toe it’s a satisfying noise that gives your playing partners no real clue that you haven’t buttoned the shot – and thanks to the Ai10x Face Callaway had shown me the work they’d done to increase speed but I’m a sceptic so took my first few swings with low expectations It’s safe to say Callaway’s R&D wizards have walked the walk I slotted the 10.5Âș head into the shaft I’d had fitted for Ai Smoke and within five swings I could tell it was quicker than its predecessor It just felt easier to swing and get through the ball I’ve gained an average of 1mph of head speed over my Ai Smoke which Callaway tell me is due to that combo of the new head shape and the new Thermoforged carbon optimizing the launch and spin through lower CG and higher MOI but that’s a significant gain on a year-old driver that had already given me decent gains on my previous Paradym head And that’s before I mention the increased forgiveness
Callaway set out to bridge the gap between drivers that are fast but lack forgiveness and drivers that are forgiving but lack speed I swore and instantly dropped my head after three tee shots during my opening round with this driver because I was utterly convinced I’d hit an awful shot Each time I looked up and saw my ball bounding down the fairway A poor swing doesn’t equal a poor result with this club It’s up there with Ping’s G430 Max 10k when it comes to forgiveness I put Elyte straight in play after a morning of testing it at La Reserva Club in Sotogrande during Callaway’s launch event and only missed one fairway – and that was nothing to do with the club more the 30 yards left the face was pointing through impact but if I catch it out of the heel or toe I still can’t guarantee that the face will save me That does not feel like the case with Elyte In the several rounds I have played with the new driver It’s safe to say that I have made contact with every part of the new face and it has is that there is no significant drop off in distance regardless of the area you hit it from when I have buttoned it out of the middle with one of those rare perfect swings and strikes it has outperformed those shots where I haven’t but like the majority of you reading this meaning a face that still gives me more than enough distance to be up with my playing partners when I haven’t hit it out of the screws is a godsend I play with a gentle fade (that is sometimes less gentle) and feel more comfortable than ever repeating that shot with Elyte All the new tech is working together so it’s impossible to judge it individually because one element wouldn’t work without another But it’s clear that the ability to print prototypes quickly and have more opportunities to test and improve makes that $2m some of the most sensible money Callaway have ever invested It’s allowed them to push the envelope with the shaping and materials knowing they’d be able to tinker more if things didn’t work The new shape and materials have undoubtedly increased speed but it’s the Ai10x face that really stands out for me To be able to feel confident that you can hit your driver almost anywhere across the face and not be horrifically punished is just a huge confidence booster I was surprised to see Callaway move away from the sliding weight system but I’ve tested Elyte in all three rear slots and the weight does make a noticeable difference to my shot shape I’m not sure I’ve seen the 20 yards of difference each way that Callaway are claiming they’ve produced in testing The OptiFit loft sleeve remains more limited than the options from some of their rivals especially with brands like Cobra releasing 33-option adaptors in the new DS-Adapt range but if they and their fitters are confident they can dial me in and the results are there then why would they change it Callaway don’t shirk when it comes to tech and materials – they want to produce the best products so they put the best into them It’s going to take something special to get Elyte out of my hands in 2025 It looks great at address and it makes hitting driver a pleasure not a chore It’s a model I quickly felt I could trust to give me distance and forgiveness and it’s clear that all the tech work Callaway have done has genuinely improved performance and not just been for a marketing campaign It’ll be at the top end of most people’s budgets but the fact Callaway have put so much money and tech into this product and not pushed a price increase on 2024 is another tick the Elyte driver is a consistency machine and that’s all I’m looking for when I reach for the big stick Callaway are offering four drivers in the Elyte range in 2025 which we’ll be seeing and testing early this year Elyte X replaces the Max D of previous years and is the maximum forgiveness high-launch model for players who need a little more help a fast driver that targets moderate swing players and will feature all the tech found in Elyte X with an adjustable hosel in this model for the first time And Elyte Triple Diamond is a better-player driver (although its forgiveness levels mean it’s surprisingly accessible to a lot more amateurs) with a smaller 450cc head that creates lower spin and launch and suits those who want to see a neutral to fade bias Cobra have already revealed their DS Adapt offerings for 2025 in the coming weeks you’ll also see new models from TaylorMade just to make your buying decision even simpler dropping the RRP considerably and offering fewer custom options in those models but if your budget doesn’t stretch to the $599/ÂŁ569 price tag for Elyte then that’s still a great option Rob Jerram – Digital Editor spending large chunks of his days reading about He’s passionate about the equipment used by thousands of female players and shaped by Callaway's internal Women's Golf Council — a cross-functional team dedicated to designing performance clubs specifically for women ready to advance their game REVA Rise delivers a mix of modern technology It’s not a watered-down Tour set or a plastic boxed combo kit — it’s a thoughtfully engineered bridge to better golf and forgiveness based on women’s swing data — not just theoretical averages and delivers distance without demanding perfection The triaxial carbon crown reduces weight to increase MOI and improve forgiveness particularly helpful when teeing it up under pressure. Our on-course review showed that players noticed immediate benefits: higher launch and a lively but controlled feel off the face The lightweight UST LINQ shaft and women’s grip keep swingweight balanced and comfortable at 44.375 inches Combined with the tasteful seafoam haze detailing this is a driver that’s both game-ready and bag-worthy.Fairway Woods For players who struggle to find reliable distance and trajectory off the deck the REVA Rise fairway woods are a standout solution Featuring the same AI 10x face design and carbon crown as the driver they offer higher launch and greater forgiveness — perfect for those crucial second shots on long par 4s and reachable par 5s The shallow face profile makes it easier to get under the ball without manipulating your swing. From 3-wood to the rarely-seen 11-wood the entire range is built to cover gaps and suit a variety of swing speeds With swingweights at C5 and generous lofts (18° to 31°) these clubs elevate shot-making with confidence The premium feel and visual continuity of the seafoam accents carry through reinforcing that this isn’t a piece-meal set — it’s a cohesive system designed to make every shot more playable.Hybrids The REVA Rise hybrids bridge the gap between woods and irons with a smooth high-launching profile that inspires trust from the rough they’re built with the AI-tuned face and shallow profile These hybrids are ideal for players who want distance without the low piercing ball flight that’s common in traditional long irons. With lofts ranging from 22° (4 hybrid) to 42° (9 hybrid) this is one of the most complete hybrid offerings available for women The set encourages players to experiment with replacing more irons for easier-to-hit hybrids and the lightweight UST LINQ shafts keep swing speeds up Whether you're holding a green from 160 yards or bumping one up from 120 these clubs deliver easy results with consistency.Irons The REVA Rise irons carry forward the theme of ease making them the ideal companion to the driver designed specifically to increase speed and spin based on female swing tendencies That added spin isn’t just for distance control — it helps shots hold the green and stops the ball where it lands.Designed to integrate seamlessly with the hybrids the irons (6–Sand Wedge) provide a smooth transition in feel Offset progresses subtly from the 6-iron through the wedges promoting confidence at address and minimizing slice tendencies and the stylish finish and coordinated design details elevate the overall look without losing the performance focus These aren’t beginner clubs — they’re player-improvement tools designed for golfers who are serious about getting better The golf brand’s springtime ad is part soggy-season therapy a deadpan Murray voiceover and one very smug Schauffele in the sun rejoice: Callaway Golf just declared open season on soggy sadness with a springtime campaign that’s part weather therapy the spot is a cinematic love letter to that magical moment when the clocks go forward and your waterproof clothes go back in the closet Narrated by none other than Andy Murray – yes the Scottish tennis icon with the driest wit this side of the North Sea – the ad turns grey skies and waterlogged greens into punchlines The film opens on the universal misery of winter golf: cold in comes Murray’s voiceover – delightfully deadpan – delivering a kind of poetic lament for all those missed tee times and mud-caked dreams The spot features a greatest-hits lineup of golf’s social media darlings: the ForeBrothers (aka the golf bros who actually make us want to watch golf content) They’re all visibly chomping at the bit to get back on the course Then there’s Callaway Staffer and professional ray of sunshine Xander Schauffele whose appearance in sunny weather while the rest of Europe is drenched feels borderline cruel The whole thing plays like a group chat come to life one that’s been collectively counting down the days until post-work 9-holers and short-sleeved swings ‘Get Sprung’ is more than just a seasonal sizzle reel: “This is a tribute to golfers across Europe who’ve been eagerly awaiting the return of long evenings and dry fairways.” Translation: we see you and we’re giving you permission to get irrationally excited about 7am tee times The campaign was pulled together by MSQ Sport + Entertainment with production from Homeground And just in case you thought this was a one-and-done there’s follow-up content incoming – including behind-the-scenes footage and an Instagram competition that could win you a dream round at St Andrews Spring has officially been declared by Callaway If you’ve been climbing the clubhouse walls waiting for better weather And prepare to golf like you’ve just been let out of winter prison
