Spring break for college students is usually for spending time with family or friends before returning to school for the second half of the spring semester
his first spring break on campus in Baton Rouge
The then-true freshman spent his vacation week preparing to win the starting left tackle job against a four-year starter on LSU's offensive line
Campbell was watching film and doing drill work to hit the ground running when the Tigers returned to practice as a team
The 19-year-old went on to win the starting left tackle job from an upperclassman
a job he never relinquished in his three seasons at LSU
Forgoing his spring break to focus on football is one of many stories that encapsulate the fourth-overall pick's competitive drive
along with inserting himself into a high school despite an injury and delivering a blow to Mike Vrabel's chest during a pre-draft workout that put the Patriots head coach on the ground
"You guys have had some unbelievable players come through your franchise
This kid has the makings to be another one of those legendary guys," LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis told Patriots.com
"He is as conscientious of a human being as I've been around
and he has a level of pride in his work that is unmatched
"He spent countless hours in our weight room and with our nutritionist enhancing and evolving his body
getting in the building at 5 am and starting to work on his body
he would drive down to New Orleans and work with a physical therapist who would help him stretch and get himself realigned
This kid put in hours upon hours and invested his own money from NIL
Those are the things you guys would not see," Davis said
Go behind the scenes for an exclusive look at Will Campbell's first 48 hours as the newest member of the New England Patriots
The LSU offensive tackle was drafted by the Patriots 4th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft
After focusing inward to win the starting left tackle job for a big-time college football program
Campbell was instrumental in rebuilding an offensive line that had hit tough times
the Tigers offensive line won the Joe Moore Award as the best offensive line in college football
LSU's trenches took a step back for a few years until Campbell arrived on campus
The Patriots are in a similar position where their offensive line has struggled over the last two seasons
New England ranked last in run-blocking win rate and 31st in pass-blocking win rate while having a glaring need at left tackle
which is why Campbell was a no-brainer selection in the first round to protect second-year QB Drake Maye's blindside
Campbell will now hopefully set the tone for the Patriots offensive line
"He changed the culture the day he walked in the room," Davis said
"It was his commitment and devotion to his craft
but also pouring into his teammates as well
When you see this kid out there on the practice field
but he's practicing and pushing himself harder than anybody else around him
He re-established the standard in the room
If you surround him with other individuals who aren't afraid of putting work in and breathe life into him
he's going to be an All-Pro for a long time," Davis said
Although the intangible qualities that Campbell brings to the football team are outstanding
he still needs to pull his weight as the Patriots projected starting left tackle
the LSU product has the athleticism and finishing ability to be a high-end starter in the NFL
pundits poke holes in Campbell's scouting profile by pointing to his lack of ideal arm length
with the 21-year-old measuring in with 32 ⅝-33 inch arms
listing the top defenders that Campbell has faced in his time at LSU
"He's played perhaps 15 first or second-round defensive ends
He's played the best players in America every Saturday
"I understand the value of metrics and historical data
but you can't overlook or discount the amount of toughness and grit that this kid has to overcome what other people may consider a shortcoming
Any challenge that somebody places on this kid
he's gonna work his ass off to absolutely destroy it
Pro Outlook with Duke Manyweather (Founder and CEO of OL Masterminds)
As his offensive line coach for the last three seasons
one would expect Davis to be highly complimentary of Campbell given the success the Patriots first-rounder had at LSU
Patriots.com also spoke to the Founder and CEO of OL Masterminds
Manyweather is a leading offensive line expert with over a decade of experience training NFL athletes
including over 40 veterans several of whom have been named All-Pro and Pro Bowlers
OL Masterminds was created to solve a problem: a lack of "continuity with development in the offseason for offensive linemen." During the offseason
OL Masterminds hosts a summit where offensive linemen congregate to meet and exchange tricks of the trade
While understanding that playing along the offensive line is a technique-based position with limited in-season practice reps
Manyweather wanted to give offensive linemen expert training in the offseason so they could continue working on their craft
much like a private coach does for quarterbacks
Campbell began working with Manyweather to improve his game for his final collegiate season and has continued to train at OL Masterminds this offseason
We started in early December and really identified some things that we want to work on," Manyweather said
He is a guy who shows up every single day ready to work."
Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft introduces first round draft pick
Campbell is presented with the ceremonial #1 jersey and fields questions from the media
Manyweather explained that Campbell excels due to his explosive movement skills and excellent hand usage
Manyweather believes Campbell makes up for his arm length by using his hands and recovery talent
There was a lot of talk about the arm length
but when he's so effective and almost surgical with his hands with the way he latches on the guys—the independent hand usage
When you get a guy that good with his hands
sometimes it mitigates having a lack of length," Manyweather stated
"I've seen a lot of guys that rely too much on their length
It gets them in trouble because they don't know how to use their hands
Will knows how to use his hands really well."
Manyweather broke down several areas that stand out while evaluating Campbell's tape
who registered a combine-best among tackles 9.91 relative athletic score at the NFL Scouting Combine
uses his elite athleticism and great play strength to be a high-impact run blocker
He's able to physically come off the ball and close space on defenders
He's able to reach on the front side of any type of zone plays and really press defenders up the field
He has the agility and then also body control to cut off the backside
while also showing the athleticism and the tracking skills to climb up to the second level," said Manyweather
That's really the model of his game that allowed him to be the fourth overall pick."
The Patriots selected LSU OT Will Campbell in the first round (fourth overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft
Manyweather pointed to one area of the first-round pick's game that they're working to improve
Campbell tends to drift or overset to the outside
allowing pass-rushers to beat the Pats rookie with inside moves to pressure the quarterback
Manyweather identified that area of improvement early on in his work with Campbell
I tell guys don't necessarily try to adjust to the rusher
and then you want to get him to move off his rush path
"As soon as you expand the set point and get him to even take one step off his rush path
That was the biggest area I wanted to work with Will on."
The follow-up to Manyweather's assertion is does Campbell drift outside in his pass set to compensate for his arm length
Some believe that Campbell is drifting out to rushers because he doesn't have the long reach to stay square
but Manyweather doesn't believe that's the case
nah," Manyweather responded when asked if Campbell's drifting is related to his arm length
"It's just adjusting your relationship to understand when you need to widen a rusher
I've got All-Pro guys that come in that I'm still continuing to work on with them
It's just getting that timing of what we call readjusting your positional leverage against a defender."
Patriots first round draft pick Will Campbell discusses being selected by New England and what he brings to the organization
Campbell will be working with the Patriots coaching staff beginning with rookie minicamp (May 9-11) through mandatory minicamp (June 9-11)
the plan is for Campbell to continue working on his craft with Manyweather in his time off between the offseason workout program and the start of Patriots training camp in July
Manyweather has also worked with Patriots third-rounder Jared Wilson this offseason
"Both these guys are just really consistent players and tireless workers that I think are going to have a tremendous upside in New England," Manyweather said
Between the two early draft selections and free-agent additions
New England has significantly upgraded the talent level of the offensive line this offseason
After where it ranked statistically last season
it was an obvious need that the Patriots addressed with two top-100 draft picks and notable veteran signings in OT Morgan Moses and C Garrett Bradbury
Along with being an upgrade at left tackle on the field
Campbell projects as a potential future team captain
Head coach Mike Vrabel emphasized targeting players who will rebuild a winning culture in Foxboro
the Patriots are getting the complete package of high-end ability and excellent leadership

Campbell hit the portal during the recently completed 10-day spring window
He actually hit the portal initially during the winter window
he then elected to give new head coach Bill Belichick and his staff a chance during the program’s 15 practices between March and April
Campbell has two seasons of eligibility left to use at his next school. The Mustangs and Lions are the two known suitors for his services at this time.

After losing Ta’Mere Robinson to USC in April, head coach James Franklin made clear that Penn State would like to find another addition at the position before preseason camp starts in August. Campbell and Toure are the top targets at this time.
“We’re not a big portal team, but we’re going to have to address some issues,” Franklin said. “So if there is a linebacker out there that wants to come and be a part of our program and play for LBU, the most historic linebacker program in the history of college football, there’s an opportunity here to join the room and compete. So we will look at that.
“I think we got enough in the room. But to get through an entire season if we get some injuries, it could get challenging. So we’re going to look at the portal and see if we could find a solution. As you guys know, more times than not, we’d like it to be somebody that is connected to us and that we know. Because, we got a really good locker room, and I’ll make sure that we’re bringing the right people in our locker room. We’re very protective of that.”
Right now, Toure and Campbell are the top two targets.

Game Recap: Baseball | 5/4/2025 9:17:00 PM
GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T has hit a rough patch recently in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) baseball play
The Aggies will now need a strong finish to secure a berth in the 2025 CAA Baseball Championship Tournament after losing its seventh CAA game in the last eight contests with a 6-1 loss to the Campbell Fighting Camels Sunday at War Memorial Stadium
A&T dropped to 15-31 overall and 9-12 in the CAA despite a gallant pitching effort from right-handed reliever Jacob Halford (L
three at home against the College of Charleston and three on the road against the top team in the league
the Camels took two out of three from the Aggies partly because they hit nine home runs over the weekend
including three on Sunday to improve to 20-26 overall and 11-10 in league play
keeping them in fifth place in the standings
earn a berth in the conference tournament scheduled for May 21-24 at Charleston's Patriot Point ballpark
Going into the series, the Aggies did not know who they wanted to start Game 3. The coaching staff decided on junior RHP Evan Hart
Hart pitched a scoreless first inning before the Aggies turned to Halford
He pitched magnificently for six straight innings before the Camels finally got to him in the visitors' eighth inning
But a pop-out and a strikeout ended the Aggies threat
In the fourth, A&T put two on with one out after Campbell's left-handed starter Jake Murray walked senior Kristian Amaro and committed an error on a Nick DiCarlo groundball
the Aggies left two more on base with a foul out and strikeout
scoring the game's first run with two outs in the frame
Junior Andrew Tinsley reached base on an error in the fifth. He stole second and eventually moved to third on a wild pitch before freshman Savoi Edwards brought him home with a rocket RBI double to left center field to put A&T ahead 1-0
Halford continued to roll as the game moved into the sixth inning
He gave up a leadoff single to Dalen Thompson
who eventually moved to second base on an error
But Halford ended the inning on a flyout and a strikeout
sending the game into the home sixth with the Aggies still leading
After Campo got stranded at second following a two-out double in the A&T sixth
Halford retired Charlie Meglio on a foul out and Andrew Schuldt on a pop-out before Jackson Thompson took Halford's 3-1 pitch over the right-field wall to tie the game 1-1
4-3) stepped on the bump in the A&T seventh and ended the inning on a double play
Rossow benefitted from that as the Camels put the game away in the eighth
Halford had six strikeouts going into the eighth and continued to look mighty to open the frame despite giving up a leadoff single to Darnell Parker
Parker was eliminated from the base paths when Dalen Thompson hit into a double play
But a two-walk to Joe Morton proved crucial
Morton stole second and scored on an RBI single from Jonah Oster
Pinch-hitter Lukas Schramm stepped up and hit a two-run homer to left field to give the Camels a 4-1 advantage
It ended Halford's terrific outing as senior RHP Diego Barrett replaced him
Barrett gave up a single but ended the frame on a strikeout
Campbell added two more runs in the ninth on a two-run homer from Dalen Thompson
the Aggies stranded two runners in the eighth and two more in the ninth
The Aggies will open their series against Charleston on Friday

Campbell celebrated after winning the HHSAA Flag Football State Championship 6-0 over Leilehua on Saturday at Mililani High School
the Sabers’ Aiesha DeWeever ran with the ball after catching a pass as the Mules’ Maddison Andres-Martinez gave chase
Will Naboa let his Sabers play within their nature
the Campbell Sabers swarmed over a hot Leilehua squad and captured the first-ever high school flag football state championship
just 24 hours after outdueling second-seeded Kamehameha
Campbell (11-2) didn’t need gaudy numbers to beat the best teams still alive in the Hawaii Dental Service/HHSAA Flag Football State Championships
who had four sacks in the win over Kamehameha
had a mere two backfield flag pulls on Leilehua quarterbacks
persistent pass rush was extremely difficult for the state’s best offenses to prepare for
Just keep training and use your speed,” said Moore
A united Sabers defense limited Leilehua’s explosive offense to 72 total yards
The Mules missed quarterback/safety Cali Moniz-Kealoha in the second half when her illness drained the last drops of her gas tank
the exhilarating playmaker who moved from receiver to QB and finished 5-for-14 with 41 passing yards
Naboa knew from day one that his team wouldn’t be the tallest
“What separates us is it’s not the size of the dog in the fight
It’s the heart in the dog,” he said
I’ve got to give the kudos to Nanakuli
We’ve been in close games and we never fold
It’s a tribute to all these girls and their heart.”
The pride of Ewa Beach was loud and clear at John Kauinana Stadium all week
You know!” It was the chant of state champions this time
“We did it at the Mililani Trojans’ stadium,” defensive back Jaynalyn Sotelo said
“It was building that chemistry off the field.”
The discipline of Campbell’s defensive front helped playmakers in the secondary
the Star-Advertiser All-State Fab 15 basketball selection
had three interceptions against Kamehameha
and added two more to close out the title-game win against the Mules
The 5-foot-9 junior is a natural in the defensive backfield
she almost immediately recognized the irony of becoming a state champion in flag football — a sport she had never played before — instead of her beloved basketball
I just hope we do this in basketball,” Sotelo said after being adorned in lei by family and friends
Maya Gonsalves’ speed was vital to Campbell’s historic title run
While several other QBs racked up massive statistics in the regular season
Gonsalves merely guided the Sabers’ offense with heady
Her 33-yard TD run surprised a normally air-tight Leilehua defense
Two losses during the regular season did not discourage the Sabers
We just kept pushing and we came forward,” Gonsalves said
Coach Naboa’s team was happy to engage in a battle for field position
The Sabers’ blend of man and zone coverage on defense was a difficult puzzle to solve
especially with a blitzer like Moore getting into the personal space of QBs within 2 seconds or less
Coaches were studying late into the night adjusting game plans
they were able to do what we asked,” Naboa said
She’s the real MVP,” Naboa said
“I love you and I thank you so much for allowing me to give back to the community.”

Will Campbell has yet to play a down in a Patriots' uniform
Not only that, but one of the pre-draft concerns surrounding Campbell - his arm length - doesn't seem to be an issue, Scarnecchia told MassLive recently.
no one has questioned his athleticism and his skillset
No one has because there’s nothing to question," Scarnecchia told MassLive's Karen Guregian
The Patriots had an A+ draft, and the selection of Campbell to protect quarterback Drake Maye's blindside is a big part of that
Scarnecchia also touched on the fact that Campbell played in arguably college football's toughest conference in the SEC
SEC defenses have a reputation for being difficult to score on
but Campbell was one of the league's best tackles
starting 38 consecutive games and being named an All-American on two occasions
It's clear that Mike Vrabel knew what he was doing when he selected Campbell fourth overall
Arm length is not a trait that defines a football player
whose arms measure at about 31 and a half minutes
but is one of the game's most feared pass rushers
It remains to be seen what Campbell's career with the Patriots will look like
but New England would not have taken an offensive lineman with the fourth overall pick
Vrabel believes the game is won and lost in the trenches
and rightfully ignored the arm length noise upon selecting Campbell
Scarnecchia is revered as arguably one of the best offensive line coaches in the NFL's history
so Campbell's earning that kind of respect before he's even stepped on the field is quite the compliment and good news for the Patriots

It was just before 5pm when a protracted day of counting drew to its conclusion
Stood opposite an indoor climbing wall and flanked by his five fellow candidates inside Haltemprice leisure centre’s main hall
Luke Campbell was told that 48,491 votes had been won along with the fight to become Hull and East Yorkshire’s first elected mayor
No opponent had come within 10,000 votes of the political novice best known for winning a gold medal in boxing at the 2012 London Olympics
“Thank you so much to the people of Hull and East Yorkshire for putting your trust and faith in me,” Campbell said on the podium
“I am truly honoured and humbled to have been elected to represent you
Campbell neither looks nor sounds much like a politician
“I don’t care for politics,” the 37-year-old former lightweight had said during a televised BBC debate two weeks earlier
an ally of United States President Donald Trump
Campbell has become the Reform party’s latest victory on the UK’s rapidly shifting political landscape
reflecting a series of local elections across England where voters took a collective step to the right
Campbell left a stellar boxing career behind when retiring in 2021 but now begins a very different challenge in a world he knows little of
A four-year term will see him control a minimum £13.4million ($17.8m) budget from central government
representing 610,000 people in the region he has always called home
Strategic decisions will be made on housing
while Campbell will also be a lobbying figurehead for additional government support from Westminster
The promise was made to “hit the ground running”
with a series of meetings with officials planned on Tuesday
Campbell also becomes a new poster boy for the ambitions of Reform UK
Comfortably winning the first Hull and East Yorkshire mayoral election was both a measure of the party’s snowballing popularity and the power of celebrity
Campbell’s exploits as a boxer had won him no end of acclaim in Hull
and he proved to be a name still capable of drawing enormous support
“A lot of people talked about my lack of political experience,” said Campbell afterwards
It is no exaggeration to call Campbell one of the UK’s most technically gifted boxers
In the years that led him to Olympic fame in London
the lightweight known as ‘Cool Hand Luke’ had won gold at the 2008 European Championships and silver at the 2011 Worlds
The 2012 Olympics were Campbell’s zenith but an eight-year professional career brought a further 20 wins from 24 fights and lightweight world-title contests against Jorge Linares and Vasiliy Lomachenko. Both were lost, as was Campbell’s final fight against Ryan Garcia in Dallas four years ago
have been launched in the post-retirement years but there had never been any ambitions to begin a political career
Even those closest to Campbell would have scoffed at the prospect of him becoming Hull and East Yorkshire’s first mayor when the government signed off a devolution deal last September
Only on February 27 — nine weeks before polling — was he revealed as Reform’s surprise candidate
Party leader Farage had briefly trailed it as a “knockout” choice on social media before Campbell was unveiled on stage at a ticketed rally held at Hull’s Connexin Live arena
“I want to represent the people in the right way,” he said
mimicking a boxing referee signalling a winner
and its surrounding areas have criticised Campbell’s alignment with a right-wing populist party and its hard-line stance on immigration
have been only too willing to show support
consistently claimed not to be a political animal
insisting his motives would be to serve the best interests of people
“This is why I’m standing: politics gets in the way,” he told the BBC
“It’s people talking to people to benefit the people of this region
joined his candidate on the campaign trail and a week before polling
they were together on the streets of Hull and the East Yorkshire market town of Beverley in search of support
Campbell is known to have struggled with elements of the campaign trail
in particular debating with more experienced political figures and criticism on social media
but the rush of votes sent his way on Thursday saw almost 50,000 of the electorate look beyond his shortcomings
That was 35.8 per cent of the vote and comfortably more than the Conservative and Labour candidates combined
Long before the result was formally announced
those in attendance were confident of the outcome
Campbell had arrived at the count shortly after Richard Tice
who had travelled to Hull more in expectation than hope
Dame Andrea Jenkyns being announced as a Reform mayor for neighbouring Greater Lincolnshire that morning had signalled which way the wind was blowing
There was a two-and-a-half-hour wait in the sports hall for a nervous Campbell to be declared winner but observers of the count
held on a series of long tables by council staff and volunteers
had seen one pile of forms growing higher than the others
Campbell had won another very different fight
that I want my actions to speak louder than my words,” said Campbell on stage
“The people of Hull and East Yorkshire have spoken and now it’s time to deliver.”
Campbell is not the first boxer to have found a political calling. Manny Pacquiao has served in the Senate of the Philippines while Vitali Klitschko has been the mayor of Kyiv since 2014
Campbell says he will “learn as he goes” in a role that is expected to have an annual salary in the region of £80,000
Reform wishes to transform British politics and now
Campbell will be a component for that desired change

Offensive tackle Will Campbell gives an emotionally-charged reaction to being drafted fourth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots
One of the viral highlights of the 2025 NFL Draft came during Round 1 when Will Campbell was selected by the New England Patriots
The first offensive lineman taken off the board, Campbell let it all out after being selected No. 4 overall, telling NFL Network's Jamie Erdahl that he's "gonna fight and die to protect" quarterback Drake Maye
"I listened to it live," Maye told reporters on Thursday
I think it makes you want to go out there and play football now
We got a chance to meet him when he flew in on Friday
What new head coach Mike Vrabel wants in New England is what Maye and Co
have been hearing a lot of as the club began its offseason program this week
"It's been great with coach; he's come in here and it seems like he's been here a while," Maye said of Vrabel
He's done it before; he's done it at a high level and won a lot of games
You can see he's trying to kind of install the new identity
Maye was the silver lining of what was a dreadful 4-13 season for the Patriots in 2024
but the Patriots' leaky offensive line and a limited wide receiver corps prevented Maye from fully showing what he seemed capable of
veterans that played at a high level," Maye said
"We kind of found answers at a lot of different spots
and I think that's what the point of free agency is
Get guys that can come here and help us win
Add that in with some young talent we've had in the past couple of drafts
hopefully we're heading in the right direction."
But the New England return of offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels
who was with the Patriots for all six of their Super Bowl wins
was perhaps the biggest addition to Vrabel's vision for the promising young QB
Maye said his introduction to McDaniels' scheme has been nothing short of "awesome" in the early going
and he's working to fully comprehend an offense that has seen plenty of success
the kind of proof's in the pudding," Maye said
"He coached a lot of different guys; he coached the best to ever do it
so it's pretty cool getting to watch the old things of Tom (Brady) and see how he does it
And a bunch of different guys have played at a high level in the offense
so it's been cool to watch and I'm kind of learning the ins and outs of it."

On January 20, Trump signed a presidential memorandum that suspended the sale of offshore and onshore wind leases and permitting for such projects from all areas of the U.S
While the order was not supposed to not stop wind farms that had already gone through the permitting process, which include some of the ongoing developments off the coast of Massachusetts
the attorney general’s office said that federal agencies did stop a fully permitted project in New York
“Massachusetts has invested hundreds of millions of dollars into offshore wind to ensure our residents have access to well-paying green jobs and reliable
affordable energy that helps meet our clean energy and climate goals,” said Campbell
“The President’s attempts to stop homegrown wind energy development directly contradict his claims that there is a growing need for reliable domestic energy
My colleagues and I will continue to challenge this administration’s unlawful actions to chill investment and growth of this critical industry.”
The attorneys general are asking the court to declare Trump’s order illegal and prevent the Administration from delaying or preventing wind energy development in any way
Campbell filed the lawsuit along with a coalition of 18 attorneys general
The coalition of attorneys general argue in the lawsuit that the directive violates the Administrative Procedure Act
which establishes procedures federal agencies must follow for rule making and adjudication
They say that there was no explanation for indefinitely pausing all wind energy development and the sudden halt violates the many statutes prescribing the processes and timelines for developing wind energy
the attorneys general argue that the order harms their states by not allowing them to pursue "diversified and affordable" sources of energy nor to meet clean energy goals
the states have already invested billions of dollars in wind energy
Offshore wind energy is the power captured by wind turbines from winds blowing over bodies of water like the ocean, according to the federal Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
Onshore wind energy comes from the wind turbines located on land
Onshore wind farms are the rows of wind turbines located on swaths of land across the country
Some of the offshore wind projects in Massachusetts include SouthCoast Wind
which will be located south of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket and proposes up to 2,400 megawatts of capacity
There are also other projects off of Martha’s Vineyard, included Vineyard Wind and Vineyard Wind 2
Campbell has filed 15 lawsuits against the Trump administration during his second term
This lawsuit on wind power, along with lawsuits related to the Trump administration withholding education funding over DEI policies and cuts to the AmeriCorps program
there are over 100 lawsuits against the administration
You can use this graphic to see all the lawsuits Campbell has filed so far grouped and colored by subject area
You may use the drop down menu to sort by status: fully or partially blocked
This chart does not include Campbell's other actions against the Trump administration, such as amicus briefs or open letters
but even he isn't immune to the challenge of moving large items of furniture
In a hilarious video captured by Campbell's wife
Campbell was seen trying to pack a massive bean bag into his truck bed
The bean bag was so huge that it was spilling out of the bin and nearly fell out on the way to the truck
Once Campbell was able to lift the bean bag onto the truck
he then hilariously jumped on the bean bag and moved around the surface to push the top down so it would fit under his truck cover

With a new coach in Mike Vrabel after Jerrod Mayo
the Patriots sought to bring in some new blood with this year's NFL draft
Many fans took notice of New England's first-round selection of Will Campbell as an offensive tackle, especially with Campbell's interview where he said he would fight and lay down his life to protect Patriots quarterback Drake Maye
To break the rest of the Patriots' choices down, Gronkowski and Edelman spoke about the draft on their podcast, Dudes on Dudes
Gronkowski, Edelman on Will CampbellEdelman said that Campbell
whom he called "T-Rex Arms," gave off the same vibe of Logan Mankins
a multi-time Super Bowl winner and one of the best offensive linemen in Patriots history
"I'm super excited about that pick," Edelman said
Gronkowski said that not only was Campbell a good choice to fill a positional need but also a great player in general
"He was deserving of a top ten pick," he said
Gronkowski on TreVeyon HendersonGronkowski said that he was really excited with the Patriots' second-round pick
asserting that Henderson could become a starting running back for New England on his first day
"He's going to make Drake Maye feel really
really comfortable in the pocket," Gronkowski said
"Not just because he's going to get the run game going but because he's one of the best pass-protecting backs to come out of college football in some time."
Edelman grade Patriots 2025 draftIf the Patriots were to receive a letter grade for their performance in this year's draft
Gronkowski said that the Patriots deserve an A
"I truly believe they had the best draft in the NFL," Gronkowski said
"That Henderson pick with the second round
Edelman said that he was excited with New England's draft but would not give it a letter grade just yet
explaining that you need to see the results of the picks first before you grade
"They definitely filled some things they definitely need," Edelman said
"You want to fill holes with staple players."

Maine … Driver Heath Campbell dominated the rain-drenched harness racing program at Bangor Raceway on Sunday (May 4)
while powerfully posting three consecutive winning efforts
Campbell opted for a front-end strategy to begin his assault
launching Shot To The Heart (2:01 – $2.80) powerfully from the gate while securing the second win in-a-row for the Kandace Niles trained mare
The daughter of Badlands Hanover romped five-lengths the best in the $4600 second leg of Bangor’s Spring Into Action series and will likely be labeled as the mare to beat in next Sunday’s (May 11) $6000 final
The pike route proved the winning path in the next contest too as Campbell hustled Word Out (1:58.4 – $3.00) smartly toward the top
Chugging through an uncontested .59-second back-half
the Ronald Dinsmore trainee glided to her second consecutive victory as an optional $4000 claimer
extending out to a five length margin at the wire
Campbell then endured some muddy splash-back as he completed his cavalcade with a determined off-the-pace effort behind Rolandpeg (2:03.2 – $4-40)
Sitting the soggy pylon path while enduring a tepid 1:02.2 opening half
he tipped the Michael Huff trainee into a first-over salvo before boldly sweeping to a 2-1/4 length score at the wire
Sunday’s three driving wins elevated Campbell into a first place tie atop the Bangor Raceway leaderboard where he currently shares top billing with his brother Drew Campbell following the completion of three seasonal race sessions at the Queen City oval
strengthened her billing as the early season leading trainer at the meet
increasing her tally to five conditioning scores after sending out Readyfortheladies (McGwire Sowers) to her third consecutive win on Sunday
Live harness racing will be showcased at Bangor Raceway throughout the mid-summer season on Wednesday afternoons with a 3:00 pm post time
and with the popular Sunday matinees going to post at 12:10 pm

Many members of the Campbell flag football team had a choice on Saturday night: Attend their senior prom
or try to achieve something that had never been done in Hawaii high school athletics
It was a no-brainer for several of the Sabers
who prevailed 6-0 over Leilehua at Mililani’s John Kauinana Stadium for the inaugural Hawaii Dental Service/HHSAA girls flag championship trophy
Senior quarterback Maya Gonsalves was among those to choose the soft-shell helmet
flag belt and cleats over fancy function attire
She had the game’s lone score — a 33-yard keeper touchdown near the end of the first quarter
“I didn’t want to leave what we’ve been working on this entire season for one night,” Gonsalves told Spectrum OC16’s Jimmy Bender
“So I chose to stick with my team and get the win.”

The team donned some jewelry by the end of the night
anyway — coach Will Naboa and his staff presented the team with plastic championship rings
Naboa is a longtime flag club coach who served as receivers coach for the Sabers tackle football team in the fall
He had a mix of experienced club players and newcomers from other sports to work with
into existence,” Naboa said of state championship dreams at the start of the relatively brief (five-week) flag season
“The best thing about this was just the ride with the girls
Hawaii was the 12th state to make girls flag football an official sport
Gov Sylvia Luke and Superintendent Keith Hayashi were on hand for the climax of the four-day
Luke did the opening coin toss and presented the runner-up and championship trophies

All-around defensive menace Shaleah Moore was named tournament Most Outstanding Player
plus two pass breakups and a quarterback hurry
was one of the team’s more experienced flag players
having played with her famiy and in club since the 6th grade
“I feel like we did an amazing job,” Moore said
“We all trusted each other to have each other's backs
and I put the pressure (on Leilehua’s backfield)
And when I put the pressure on the quarterback
she threw bad balls and my team could pick it.”
Campbell intercepted balls on Leilehua’s final three possessions

She compared reading the quarterback’s eyes to reading defense on a basketball court
Naboa and his staff were able to explain the game in ways that made sense
but they were able to walk me through it and every day I learned something
and we were definitely not the same team from the start of season to now
coached by former University of Hawaii quarterback Bryant Moniz
pulled off a stunning upset of OIA champ Moanalua in the quarterfinals on Thursday
The Mules followed it up with an 18-12 win over Punahou on Friday
Moniz lamented one missed flag pull on Gonsalves as the difference in the game
Another possible swing factor was that his daughter
She required a hospital visit to treat dehydration before the game and she was advised by a doctor not to play
She came out of the game in the second half and had to be attended by athletic trainers
the body can't go and she just had to tap out,” Moniz said
and then to spend this time with my daughter has been amazing.”
Powell nearly connected with a receiver on a heave into Sabers territory
Gonsalves was 10-for-19 passing for 74 yards and one pick for Campbell

Since April 24, numerous stories have touched upon how first-year New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel wanted to make LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell the fourth pick of the 2025 NFL Draft because of what Campbell can offer the club on game days and in the locker room
During a recent chat with Karen Guregian of MassLive
LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis addressed what Campbell can immediately give the Patriots during springtime workouts
"He was the leader of our team," Davis said about Campbell
He’s absolutely going to change the organization
