(WICS) — Two Carlinville men, Joshua R. Tieman and Dalton W. Branham, have been charged in connection with approximately 11 burglaries at storage units in Macoupin County, according to Macoupin State's Attorney Jordan Garrison. The cases have been assigned to Judge Joshua A. Meyer, with a preliminary hearing set for April 15, 2025. The investigation began on March 23, 2025, when a burglary report was filed at Central Illinois Properties with the Macoupin County Sheriff's Department. It was discovered that the Carlinville Police Department was already investigating similar incidents at the same location. Multiple videos obtained during the investigation led to a search warrant for a residence on Anderson Street in Carlinville. The search warrant was executed in a joint operation by the Macoupin County Sheriff's Department and the Carlinville Police Department, resulting in the recovery of multiple stolen items. Authorities determined that approximately 11 different storage units had been burglarized over several months. "The coordinated effort of Sheriff Shawn Kahl's Macoupin County Sheriff's Office and Chief Derek Graham's Carlinville Police Department led to nearly a dozen charges for burglary," said Garrison. "It is this type of coordinated police work which produces the results the citizens of Macoupin County deserve." Garrison expressed gratitude to all law enforcement officers involved, specifically naming Chief Derek Graham, Lt. Brian Lawton, and Lt. Det. Ryan Dixon, for their efforts in the investigation and apprehension of the suspects. © 2025 BVM Sports.
