The Sheriff's Office got the call about the incident at 9:45 p.m
a man called 911 saying he was involved in a shooting
but detectives responded immediately and the Sheriff's Office took him into custody
Deputies found a 46-year-old man in the street outside of the bar with multiple gunshot wounds
Sheriff Furlong said the initial investigation shows that two people had an argument inside the bar
That's when the Sheriff's Office says the suspect shot the victim multiple times

CARSON CITY, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The suspect in a deadly shooting at a Carson City bar on Wednesday night has been identified
carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and battery with a deadly weapon
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) received 911 calls of a shooting on Telegraph Street between Carson Street and Valley Street around 9:45 p.m
deputies located a victim in the street outside of a bar
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene
The victim has been identified as a man who was born in August 1978
Preliminary information indicated the victim and suspect may have exchanged words in the bar
Authorities say both the suspect and the victim exited the bar into the street where the suspect shot the victim multiple times
Authorities say Smith initially ran from the scene before police arrived
but he called the 911 Center and turned himself in just before 10:30 p.m
Smith is being held without bail and is expected in court on Monday
State lawmakers will have almost $200 million less than originally expected as they build a state budget for the next two years
That decline comes at a time when lawmakers also expect cuts from the federal government

The Carson City Fire Department is hosting a free community wildfire education and preparedness workshop later this month
The public is invited to attend the workshop on Tuesday
with presentations starting 30 minutes later
Topics expected to be discussed include the 2025 wildfire season outlook
and what people can do to reduce the threat of wildfires
Local agencies and volunteer programs will be available to answer questions
Residents are encouraged to register for the free workshop to help prepare for wildfires in our community
