everywhere and anywhere,” said resident Debbie Stieber Debbie Stieber has reached a breaking point with a situation unfolding just a few doors down you can see the garbage covering the front porch of the home A view from a neighbor's house shows the problem is even worse “She’s been hoarding all sorts of garbage and junk," said neighbor Joe Nevill "She pulls up multiple times of day unloading her van and every time she pulls up the van's already full each time.” Nevill says they’re also growing frustrated He and other neighbors have contacted police and the city for welfare checks and complaints “I don't know how she’s living in there in the condition of the home," said Nevill "I can only imagine what it’s like in there.” “There's no doubt we believe this is a very grave situation with regards to the property,” said Center Line City Manager and City Clerk Dennis Champine "We are not as a City happy to see this sort of thing occurring in one of our neighborhoods.” Champine says they’ve had problems with the homeowner for roughly a decade but it’s become severe in recent months He confirms they’ve issued multiple warnings and citations to no avail “This helps us to get to the next step which could be that the city goes in and cleans up the property which we cannot do without a court order," Champine said Champine also says the clutter has become a haven for rats which neighbors say they’re now dealing with Stieber set up rat boxes in her yard and said her kids don't in their backyard at night “We seen rats two weeks ago that are bigger than my Shih Tzu,” said Stieber “I was there myself today and there’s no doubt there’s rodents,” Champine said and welfare issue that we are very concerned about and as soon as the city can take further action we certainly was there and you expect love to come around to help you,” said Strait “If you just stay in this situation you would never be able to fix it so thank God it has came to air so it can be cleaned up and fixed." “It's clear they made a huge impact in addressing this issue,” said Center Line City Manager and Clerk Dennis Champine "Thanks to you guys it got out there and it was a positive outcome.” But Champine cautions the work is not done yet and now the city is baiting the neighborhood They’re also following through with an upcoming court hearing saying they do not plan to dismiss the case to ensure the situation is handled “The City is likely to ask for an adjournment until such time we believe there is not going to be a reversion of a collection of garbage and debris by the homeowner,” Champine said "We do believe she’s on the right path to getting this all taken care of and it’s our hope we can help her get to that point.” “I'm just very touched," Elizabeth said standing in front of her now cleared driveway "It’s hard to not get emotional when you have a family who stepped up like they did.” she says the church is helping her get counseling for her mental health issues to prevent this from happening again “I still have to go to counseling and make sure this doesn't happen again and that’s not going to happen overnight either.” Elizbeth says she chose to share her story in hopes it helps others like her “Hopefully it'll bring hope to anyone else who has this issue that Laughing and staring and taking pictures don't Just letting them know they’re not alone is all PUTNAM COUNTY, Mo. — Two drivers were injured Monday morning in a northeast Missouri crash. It happened around 8:15 a.m. on Missouri Highway 5, four miles north of Unionville, Mo.According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report a northbound pickup driven by a 46-year-old woman crossed the center line and struck a southbound minivan. The van was driven by a 28-year-old woman Mo.Both drivers received minor injuries in the crash. The driver of the pickup was taken by ambulance to Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville. The driver of the minivan was taken by private auto to Mercy One in Centerville Both women were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash on Monday to demonstrate against executive orders signed by President Donald Trump one of the performing arts landmarks of the United States there was a different kind of protest: a dance Thirty-four dancers performed The Nelken Line, a piece by choreographer Pina Bausch that pays homage to the seasons. It's been performed widely since Bausch created it in 1982. There's even a tutorial dancers walk in a single-file line and make synchronized movements "It felt symbolic in that we're moving in unison," says dancer and educator Kelly King who organized the protest "And there's something just compelling to see a straight line of movers dancing this way in a march." The dancers are protesting the leadership changes at the Kennedy Center which operates under a private-public partnership and receives some federal funding But now the board consists of members appointed solely by Trump which is the first time a president has served in that role the Kennedy Center's dance offerings have been largely focused on "classical ballet and very white programming or European-based programming." But in the past decade or so she's seen a shift that includes "many more contemporary works and some under the radar dance offerings that give both artists and audience an opportunity to expand their horizons And that has been really exciting and encouraging to see." She and the other dancers are worried about whether that kind of diversity will continue under the new administration A spokesperson for the Kennedy Center tells NPR "There have not been changes made to the Center's dance programming nor are there any changes planned." King says the protest came together quickly She chose the Bausch work because it's simple enough that dancers of all ages and abilities could master it easily King says nobody at the Kennedy Center tried to stop any of the dancers though a handful of security guards followed them as they danced around the perimeter of the building for about 30 minutes "They were unsure of what they were going to encounter with us," says King "And as I spoke to them individually and they saw what we were doing they realized that we were certainly not a threat And I think perhaps by the end they were entertained."
