The pair filmed a super sweet video to promote her new memoir
and it was just like old times as the super model appeared next to him in an empty restaurant and sat down at his table
The two bantered back and forth as she made a big show of autographing his copy of her book
as well as a sweet snapshot of the co-stars leaning into one another
"📖🍽️🤍," the comedian captioned the sweet post
Fans were completely obsessed with the reunion between "The BEST❤️🙌," with several affirming that it "put a huge smile on my face."
"So wonderful to see you two together
"You both were the best together in the movie," another complimented
"Glad you reunited ❤️."
"You guys gave us some of the best movie scenes ever!" one follower agreed
"Wish we could go back to those 'good ole days,'" somebody else admitted
"thanks for the memories ☺️."
"this makes my kid heart singgggggg 😢❤️👏," another agreed
Last summer, the pair reunited as well, evoking just over 40 years worth of nostalgia
seeing as the original Vacation film was released in 1983
Thanks to all who sent in word about the recent filming in Chevy Chase DC:
“There are a bunch of trailing at Conn Ave and Livingston and a no parking sign for a “production” company
Rumor from a passer by is that Parthenon Restaurant on Conn Ave is getting renovated for some TV show.”
I stopped by over the weekend too and was told it was filming for a “food show on cable tv”
For some reason I saw the bicycle store was closed too
To be clear, it’s not important to me that Chase liked the flick
The infamous curmudgeon/jerk/racist is lucky a generation’s worth of tall white dudes see him as a comedy icon
There will always be people willing to stand up for him
That’s because he has a firm place in comedy history
both for his films and for being an inaugural cast member on Saturday Night Live
he is a character in Reitman’s movie and a surprisingly sympathetic one at that
You don’t leave your seat rooting for Chase
He’s presented in all his legendary arrogance
What the film does well is show that he was an immense talent
and was possibly a tool of network bigwigs to sway advertisers
It’s a more nuanced portrayal than Chase possibly deserves
especially considering how he reacted to seeing it
Reitman recently appeared on David Spade and Dana Carvey’s podcast Fly on the Wall
which gives an inside look at the famed show
he revealed how Chase responded to the film when it was screened for him
and he is there with [wife] Jayni and they watch the film
and he comes up to me after and he pats me on the shoulder and goes
you should be embarrassed,’” the director told the former cast members
That sounds exactly like the response I’d expect from a man who has spent decades making himself impossible to work with
as Carvey and Spade are more than familiar with Chase
“You couldn’t even write it better,” Spade explained
with Carvey saying “knows that’s funny
like that’s the roughest thing you could say to a director in the moment
or right up there.” The duo aren’t wrong
it would just have to come out of someone who isn’t so proudly a miserable prick
Were Chase anyone with even a shred of humility
Reitman tried to give Chase that legacy in the film
Saturday Night probably isn’t going to change how people remember Chase, but there are scores of idiots on TikTok who think Helen Keller is fake or some such nonsense
Saturday Night could be all people know of Chase in 30 years
and his portrayal isn’t nearly as bad as it could have been
I’m getting my own Chevy Chase moment that’s 1,000 percent only for me right now.’ And from a comedy point-of-view that’s really pure
and that’s kind of cool,” he explained
I just spent like two years of my life recreating this moment and trying to capture Chevy perfectly
find the humanity and give him a moment to be loved — no
He’s not talking about that stuff.”
It is folly for Reitman to think he’s the one who could break through all of Chase’s horseshit
The man was never going to heap praise upon the director
Reitman’s dad refused to work with Chase on Memoirs of an Invisible Man due to his aforementioned habit of being an a**hole
There was no chance he was going to be nice about this
despite Reitman’s apparent intentions
I’m not going to lose sleep over Chase’s miserable existence
but it is undeniably sad that he can’t find it within himself to not be a jerk for two seconds
it’s a bad joke because of who he is
We should all do our best to live a life where if someone hears a s***ty story about us it doesn’t elicit a response like
“classic.” Chevy Chase has done the opposite
Maybe he saw a little bit of humanity in the film and it scared him back on his insecure hind legs
He saw someone try to treat him like a person and all he could do was attack

Pati Jinich’s list of accomplishments as a chef
Daytime Emmy nomination or invitation to cook at the White House
Jinich has made a name for herself both locally
and internationally with the world’s premier chefs and critics
With a resume that impressive, one might mistake Jinich for a food snob; however, her newest series, “Pati Jinich Explores PanAmericana” dispels any of those ideas nearly immediately
they were putting a reindeer sausage inside of a flour tortilla with ketchup and calling it a burrito,” Jinich said of one scene from an episode in the new season
“If you had told me that I would [be served that]
This gets to the heart of what Jinich’s show is about
and why it is a slight departure from her more cooking-focused programs
In “Pati Jinich Explores PanAmericana,” Jinich looks to tell the stories of those who came here from elsewhere
As the granddaughter of Polish refugees who escaped pogroms and the Holocaust
Americans and others who had a tough road to freedom matters a lot to her
“My hope [with this show] was to take my personal connection [of] being a Mexican immigrant in the U.S
and coming from a long line of refugees to connecting with peoples in the Americas that have these [same] stories,” she said
a fact abundantly clear to this day thanks to her thick accent
Her father’s parents were Polish farmers who fled pogroms and ended up in Mexico
while her mother’s parents came later in an attempt to escape the Holocaust
Both sets of Eastern Europeans ended up in Mexico
Jinich was raised with an appreciation for Jewish and Ashkenazi culture
She said that a beautiful struggle comes from people being displaced from their homeland
and it often yields little moments that the show aims to highlight
Jinich met with other Eastern European refugees who came to North America much later than her family but for similar reasons
“We were meeting with some Ukrainian families in Edmonton
and the newcomers who have come fleeing the war realized that there were Ukrainian families from three generations ago that were making dumplings and singing songs that had been banned in Ukraine under the Communist rule,” she said
Jinich lives in Chevy Chase now and is based professionally in the D.C
the job demands that she is always on and always moving
Jinich said that some might not realize how much work it is to create a program like this
“I come back home after these filming trips and I am completely exhausted,” she said
“I am drained from really opening up and connecting so much
but mostly I feel a deep responsibility to do right by their trust.”
Jinich shared a number of touching examples from her time in Alaska
which was highlighted in the first episode of the show
woman who had worked in law enforcement for two decades told Jinich about her change to charity work
“She said she realized that [she] was just putting her own people in jail
“She got out of the system and now she has a nonprofit where she’s helping people start businesses that have to do with their culture.”
These connections are often forged via food
but that eating together serves as a jumping off point
Jinich loves nothing more than a good bagel — except a good bialy
bialys formed an exemplary anecdote for Jinich
“I used to eat bialys with my Polish grandfather in Mexico City when I was really young
we would eat them with cheese and sometimes some mashed avocado
I was sitting there [in Alaska] eating the most perfect bialys … overlooking the mountains,” she said
“I was just thinking about if my grandfather were alive and I were to tell him that I am taking a bite of a bialy in Alaska with a man whose [grandfather] comes from the town next to my grandfather’s town … we could have been neighbors in Poland.”
and moments like this remind her of the power of storytelling and the importance of preserving Jewish history

Zoning Commission voted unanimously on Jan
to approve amendments to the Zoning Regulations and Zoning Map to create two new Chevy Chase Neighborhood Mixed-Use Zones (NMU-4/CC1 and NMU-4/CC2) along the upper portion of Connecticut Avenue N.W
The new NMU-4/CC1 zone will apply to most of the commercial corridor along Connecticut Avenue N.W.
low-density commercial and moderate-density residential uses generally consisting of ground-floor retail
The new NMU-4/CC2 zone will apply only to the Chevy Chase Civic Site on Connecticut Avenue N.W.
This zone will generally provide for mixed-use and local public facility development on District-owned property
including a moderate-density level of housing
The 2021 update to the District's Comprehensive Plan included significant changes to the Rock Creek West Planning Area within which the new zones are located
Department of Housing and Community Development
and Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development to conduct a detailed analysis of the corridor
which led to the approval of the Chevy Chase Small Area Plan (CCSAP) in July 2022
The CCSAP emphasizes increased affordable housing and neighborhood retail along Connecticut Avenue
The new zones are intended to implement recommendations to expand housing opportunities in Ward 3 as set forth in the District's Comprehensive Plan
CCSAP and the District's Housing Equity Report
The new zones also facilitate moderate-density
pedestrian-friendly commercial corridor with a diverse mix of neighborhood-serving shops and services

With its abundance of historic charm—leafy, walkable streets and a tight-knit feeling —Chevy Chase Village, a Maryland community on the edge of Washington, DC
provided the perfect setting for Jennifer Skalka Tulumello and her husband
wanted something reflective of history but that would also eschew traditional Washingtonian design
Their newly purchased Queen Anne–style home
had belonged to only a small handful of families prior
happy feel that suggested it would be the ideal place for their young children
“We wanted a house that had a lot of love in it,” explains Tulumello
“somewhere our children could build happy childhood memories.”
AD PRO Directory designer Nina Farmer stands in the Maryland home
“We fell in love with those Paolo Buffa frames
and they helped us build the room,” Farmer says
Following an extensive review by the local historic preservation board—whose regulations forbid any changes to the home’s facade to ensure it retains its original early 20th-century appearance—the house was stripped down to its foundation and Farmer set to work
you need to be mindful of putting the patina back into some of the hard surfaces,” explains the designer
it gives the wrong impression of just being done all at once without care.” And so Farmer and her team rebuilt the framework to reflect its original era by installing period-appropriate mouldings
and laying flooring that would honor its heritage while still remaining modern
To pull off a convincing interior rebuild of this nature
a strong sense of trust was built between Tulumello and the designer
which allowed Farmer to guide her in taking risks she might otherwise avoid—especially when it came to color
praising the designer’s ability to handle saturation with a strong sense of elegance
And so Farmer dressed the home in rich jewel tones: glossed olive walls in Drew’s office; saffron yellow trim in the dining room; rusted auburn fabric on a living room sofa; cerulean blue tiles along their son’s bathroom
“I like complex colors and unexpected combinations
and Jenn didn’t shy away from that,” explains Farmer of their collaboration
“I felt like she really understood how to manage the quirkier parts of the historic house in such a way that the flow of our entertaining space is immaculate,” shares Tulumello
While Tulumello placed her full trust in Farmer
she was admittedly a touch hesitant initially about the deep hues
“As the project went on and she was able to be in the house at different times of the day
and experience how the scale of the spaces and layouts create quite a light atmosphere
Farmer called upon an eclectic melange of periods and styles to build out the home
“We wanted to find a mix of interesting magic of pieces that juxtaposed against the architecture of the house; to create a tension between pieces that one might not expect to see together.”
with moments of unexpected pairings unfolding all over the house
where a rigid brutalist brass game table stands just a few feet from a wabi sabi coffee table crafted from Japanese burl wood
where a bronze and alabaster 1920s Art Deco pendant hangs above an Italian dining table
which is surrounded by Studio Van den Akker dining chairs that feel midcentury with their softly curved legs
and enhances them,” Tulumello says of Farmer
‘what does this house want to be?’ We wanted to honor the home and give it its next happy iteration while maintaining its integrity
and her framework for design allowed us to do just that.”
“Nina understood inherently that we wanted to elevate the house to give it a warmth and depth so as to make it almost unrecognizable as a Washington-specific property,” remarks Tulumello
we wanted our family house to reflect our varied experiences
of who we’ve been and how we want to live into the future.”
“Nina came to me and said that we should go for a shade of high gloss brown for the bedroom
not in a million years would I paint my ceiling brown—that seems crazy!’” recalls Tulumello with a laugh
warm shade and really grounds the room in the palette of the wider house.”
You could tell right when you met her that she dresses and understands aesthetics very well
I wanted to give her and Drew something that felt elevated and bright with a mix of vintage and antique
where they could host gatherings and entertain
but also where their kids would feel comfortable and at ease
obviously nothing too precious,” explains Farmer
The Ancient Surfaces tub
of the primary bathroom had to be lifted through the windows via a crane stationed outside
and suspended from the ceiling until the wainscoting was complete and the tub could be placed in the proper spot
but what a stunning outcome,” says Tulumello
the jewel tones continue in the tile that Farmer sourced from Portugal
“I love having my coffee on the enclosed back porch. It offers a gorgeous view of our garden, which surprises me with new pops of colorful blooms around the seasons,” muses Tulumello. Campion Hruby Landscape Architects were in charge of the landscape design.

A guide to the newest places to eat and drink
Chef Kitima Boonmala’s family ran a small noodle shop in the central Thai city of Ayutthaya
her mom gave her the recipe for her noodle soup
‘Maybe you can use it one day,’ and I didn’t really think I would use it,” Boonmala says
Nor did she expect that the dish would become a specialty of hers at a series of pop-ups
at a modern Thai restaurant in Chevy Chase DC called Bird Song
is a partnership with restaurateur Aaron Gordon of neighboring Little Beast
where Boonmala had previously taken over the kitchen for Sunday pop-ups
‘We’ve got to do something together,'” Gordon says
Boonmala had previously worked for chef Alex McCoy’s former Thai pop-up Alfie’s. That led to her first late-night Thai pop-up Toh Roong—short for “night market”— in 2018 at McCoy’s burger joint Lucky Buns
She’s continued to showcase her fiery cooking and noodle dishes at a number of other restaurants over the last seven years
“we want to showcase what people have never had here yet.” The restaurant will of course feature her spicy boat noodle soup with slow-cooked beef shank and a rich
blood-thickened beef broth (a vegan option with shiitakes
The soup is seasoned with her mom’s signature spices
There will also be a number of other noodle dishes—none of which are pad thai
look for fried chicken khao soi with egg noodles and coconut broth or sen lek
The menu is broken down into sections that mirror a Thai market experience
starting with one of Boonmala’s favorite street foods—dumplings
The wide-ranging menu will also feature small plates like grilled oysters with a tangy-spicy dressing
as well as family-style dishes that may include jungle curry with smoked brisket
or a spicy-sour fish soup with tender beef tongue
and channel snacks from Boonmala’s childhood
Little Beast chef and pastry talent Naomi Gallego will create Bird Song’s desserts
Thai-style doughnuts will be served with toasted-sesame sugar and hojicha-tea caramel
and a steamed pandan cake will come with toasted-coconut anglaise and a banana-lime salsa
Gallego is also working on a coconut rice pudding with an array of colorful

(7News) — A Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School student was reportedly seen showing off a gun in a school bathroom
prompting a swift response from authorities on Tuesday
Students who witnessed the incident immediately reported it
leading to a school lockdown as police searched for the student and the weapon
The student was eventually located off campus and detained by police
The gun was later identified as an airsoft gun
READ| Student arrested after Bethesda-Chevy Chase placed on lockdown for alleged gun on campus
This incident comes just a week after a separate off-campus altercation among students ended with a gunshot
some students have expressed a desire for weapons detection systems to be implemented in their high school
The head of the school boosters noted that while some parents are opposed
the majority support the return of full-time police officers to high schools
School resource officers were removed from Montgomery County Schools in 2021
County Executive Marc Elrich argued that their presence was a source of stress for students and did not ensure safety
“I’m a little unhappy with the current situation.”
Elrich explained that his agreement with the school system involves assigning community engagement officers to each high school
These officers are to have an office on campus and be visible during key times such as arrival
“It has a value to be present there because they can get there much quicker,” said Elrich
Elrich explained some principals have opted to have the officers only be in the schools when called
7News also learned the BCC officer was not in the school when the gun was reported
County Assistant Chief Administrative Earl Stoddard said that he will be meeting with school officials on safety in the near future
“The school system has acknowledged this implementation has been inconsistent across different schools and they’re looking to improve that.”
As for the implementation of weapons detection systems
similar to those installed in every high school in Prince George’s County
A spokesman for the school system declined 7News’ request to interview the Superintendent of schools and the head of school safety but sent this statement in response to our questions:
“We are exploring weapons detection systems for potential use in our schools
but no immediate implementation is planned at this time
It’s important to understand that no security measure
Any potential implementation would require planning and integration with existing safety protocols
MCPS has a Memorandum of Understanding with MCPD and the County Gov
that guides the Community Engagement Officer program.”

Chevy loves to say the thing you're not supposed to say — to the extreme
I have an example for you… So Chevy comes in to watch the movie
it’s hard to tell if he was being serious – shooting Jason Reitman down immediately after a screening of Saturday Night – or if he knew that delivering a crushing blow is exactly what would be funniest in that moment
If you are going to hang out with comedians
While Carvey and Spade tried to assure Rietman that Chase probably was being funny in his own vicious way
I'm getting a Chevy Chase moment that's 1,000 percent only for me right now
And from a comedy point of view that's really pure
two years of my life recreating this moment and trying to capture Chevy perfectly
and — even in the ego — find the humanity
am I going to argue with Chevy Chase about it

Chase was one of SNL‘s original cast members from 1975 to 1976 and became the first former cast member to host in 1978. Murray was part of the line-up during Chase’s episode as host, and the story goes that the pair got into a fight before the show after the Lost In Translation star reportedly made a rude comment about Chase’s marriage to Jacqueline Carlin
“Billy Murray and I came to fisticuffs, but we never really ended up hitting each other,” Chase told Esquire in 2010
but Belushi got in the middle and we both ended up hitting John
And if anybody deserved to be slapped in the forehead
it was John for instigating it all.”
The iconic comedians appeared to have put that bad blood behind them on Saturday (February 15) as they posed for a photo together at the SNL 50 afterparty at The Crane Club in New York City
Chase uploaded the heartwarming pic to Instagram
which shows him with his arm around Murray’s shoulder
Murray appeared on-screen during the SNL 50 special
dropping by Weekend Update to review the rankings of former anchors of the long-running skit
who we’ve all come to know as Conny.”
“Let’s face it. Weekend Update would simply not exist without him, so it would be wrong to have him listed anywhere but… No. 4,” the Ghostbusters star added
The OG cast member has been outspoken about SNL over the years, including in a 2018 interview with The Washington Post
where he slammed the current version of the show
A post shared by Chevy Chase (@chevychase)

“That means a whole generation of s***heads laughs at the worst f****** humor in the world
How could you dare give that generation worse s*** than they already have in their lives
Pete Davidson, who was a cast member at the time, hit back at Chase’s comments during an appearance on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show
Davidson was also in attendance for SNL 50
though he did not appear in any snaps alongside Chase
In 2013, Chase had a falling out with his Community cast and its creator, Dan Harmon
and was fired after allegedly using the N-word while arguing with a producer about the direction of his character
“I could have said it,” Chase told the Washington Post in 2018, noting it would have been misinterpreted. Chase is not a part of the upcoming Community reunion movie

Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School went on lockdown Wednesday after the Montgomery County school’s principal said a fight involving some students broke out at a nearby park and gunshots were reported
Maryland-National Capital Park Police arrested a juvenile for gun-related charges and 18-year-old Nicholas Paolo Blanco on multiple charges related to the incident
Principal Shelton Mooney said that around 10:10 a.m
a member of the community alerted the school that gunshots were heard in a nearby park
School staff then notified emergency personnel and police
The people involved in the fight dispersed after the sound of gunshots and the school then went into lockdown mode out of an abundance of caution
it was determined that some of the people involved were students at Bethesda-Chevy Chase
The lockdown officially went into effect at 10:57 a.m
Montgomery County police said a shelter in place call was still in effect around 2:20 p.m
“I was impressed by the behavior of our students and staff during this serious and stressful event,” Mooney wrote
“We understand that communication and connection are crucial during moments like these
and we made a concerted effort to share information.”
Mooney said support is available for students
staff and families effected by the lockdown event
including an increased police presence around the school and a crisis team that will have counselors available
Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Maryland-National Capital Park Police Criminal Investigations Unit’s tip line at 301-929-2748

Home Alone director Chris Columbus has recalled “the most surreal, bizarre” encounter with Chevy Chase that left him unable to work with the actor
The filmmaker, who also directed the first two Harry Potter films, almost added 1989 film National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation to his list of credits – but stepped away after a leftfield comment made by Chase
Breakfast Club director John Hughes enlisted Columbus to direct the film, following which he met with the controversial Chase
who starred in the lead role as Clark Griswold
He told Vanity Fair: “I was signed on… and then I met Chevy Chase. Even given my situation at the time, where I desperately needed to make a film, I realised I couldn’t work with the guy.
Columbus added: “I was one of the many who couldn’t work with him. And I called John and I said, ‘This is really hard for me, but I can’t do this movie with Chevy Chase.’”
The reason for Columbus’s view was a rather odd interaction with Chase, in which the pair were meant to discuss the film. However, instead of responding to Columbus’s vision, Chase simply said nothing for 40 minutes.
“I talked about how I saw the movie, how I wanted to make the movie. He didn’t say anything. I went through about a half hour of talking. He didn’t say a word. And then he stops and he says – and this makes no sense to any human being on the planet, but I’m telling you. I probably have never told this story.
“Forty minutes into the meeting, he says, ‘Wait a second. You’re the director?’ And I said, ‘Yeah … I’m directing the film.’ And he said to me the most surreal, bizarre thing. I still haven’t been able to make any sense out of it. He said, ‘Oh, I thought you were a drummer.’ I said, ‘Uhh, OK. Let’s start talking about the film again.’ After about 30 seconds, he said, ‘I got to go.’”
After a similar experience the second time they met, Columbus called Hughes to tell him he would “not make a good movie with this guy”, which the latter understood.
The film was eventually directed by Jeremiah S Chechnik and Columbus directed Home Alone instead,
Chase’s time on hit sitcom Community was mired in controversy after creator Dan Harmon claimed the actor would try to disrupt co-star Donald Glover’s scenes and “make racial cracks between takes” because he was “jealous” of his co-star’s talent.
“I remember apologising to Donald after a particularly rough night of Chevy’s non-PC verbiage, and Donald said, ‘I don’t even worry about it,’” Harmon said at the time.
Glover added that he saw Chase as “fighting time”. Chase responded to the claim, saying he was “saddened to hear that Donald perceived me in that light”.
In 2012, a source told The Hollywood Reporter that Chase had “apologised immediately” after he used the N-word on set. The slur was not aimed at Glover or his Black co-star Yvette Nicole Brown, but used when Chase questioned dialogue in a scene with their characters, said the source.

Comic actor Chevy Chase will appear Sunday in Morsani Hall

He’ll follow a screening of the 1989 film National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

the bumbling head of a suburban Midwestern family
will share his memories of making the movie
Cory Michael Smith portrayed Chase in Jason Reitman’s 2024 film Saturday Night
about the early days of TV’s pioneering Saturday Night Live; Chase was hired as a writer in 1974 and became the breakout star of the debut season
He became the first of dozens of SNL alums to depart for a career in the movies; for a few years
he was one of America’s top box office draws

The Washington Post opined: “That Chase is godawful is no surprise — he’s been running on empty for years with variations on that tired ‘I’m Chevy Chase and you’re not’ riff.”
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation was No

but Christmas Vacation may be the only modern Christmas comedy which really stands up to repeat viewings,” said TimeOut.com
The website Cracked.com has a particular bug up its something-or-other about Mr. Chase. For a story published Nov. 21, titled “Is Chevy Chase King of the Comedy Cash Grab?,” writer Matt Solomon went to great lengths to describe the 35th Anniversary Christmas Vacation Legacy Box LIMITED EDITION
a custom anniversary poster signed by Chase
a bag of popcorn and a card that may or may not be autographed by Chase or one of the movie’s co-stars (from Beverly D’Angelo to Juliette Lewis
or even the relatively-unemployable Randy Quaid)
and what it pointedly does not include is a copy of Christmas Vacation in any home video format
Chase was selling – at $500 a pop – small cards with his autograph and a scrap of the “Land Shark” costume he wore during his single season on SNL

PEORIA — A lot of people have seen "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."
But very few have seen it with comedic superstar Chevy Chase
who played Clark Griswold in the 1989 movie that has endured for decades and become part of the rotation of classic holiday movies
still has his trademark wit that made him a star in flicks like the "Vacation" series of movies
"Fletch," "Caddyshack," "Three Amigos!" and as an original cast member on "Saturday Night Live."
Chase was ready to play: "What are you the (deleted) N.Y
Times or something?" he fired back in mock annoyance
is touring around the country to celebrate Christmas Vacation's 35th anniversary
telling stories about the filming and taking questions
16 when Chase is on stage at the Peoria Civic Center Theater for a 6 p.m
"I can't wait," Chase said of the tour stops
I love doing it because (the movie) is one of the most fun things I ever did
Chase delivered a bundle of iconic lines in the movie: "We're gonna press on
and we're gonna have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny-effing-Kaye."
He personally wrote a long rant for the script in front of the Griswold family that will be among the things he talks about Monday
"I'm going to tell the rant scene as part of the show," Chase said
so there was only one way to shoot it and I'll tell you how we did it when I get there."
He talked a bit about the Griswold family home location in the movie
where it was found by Warner Brothers in Burbank
"Across the street from Warner Brothers is Warner Ranch," Chase said
"On that ranch are many houses that are there available for movies and TV shows
that happened to have a toilet on the lawn
"The toilet had been left there by the props people who had just done the 'Lethal Weapon' movie (where Danny Glover is on the toilet and explodes out of the building)
I think it came right out of his ass or something
"Of course that was a message to me when I saw it
I'm not going to tell much more about the toilet because there's (more) to the story that I'm going to come (to Peoria) and talk about
Chase is a comedic talent best seen in person
His Weekend Update segment on "SNL" was legendary
So were his depictions of fall-prone President Gerald Ford
That will no doubt be on display with the "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" screening
which is followed by a live conversation and Q&A with Chase and his wife
They will share their behind-the-scenes stories and personal anecdotes about the making of the movie
They'll take questions from the audience about the movie and Chase's storied career
And those with VIP tickets will get a post-show photo op with the comedic legend. You can find ticket information online here
"I love screening this movie with the audience," Chase said
"It's nice for me because you don't get to see audiences so much when you're making movies
Chevy Chase has played a lot of memorable characters
from Clark Griswold in the Vacation movie series
and pro golfer Ty Webb in "Caddyshack," reporter Irwin M
Fletcher in "Fletch," Dusty Bottoms in "Three Amigos!" and countless more
But if he could invite any character he's played to his own Christmas dinner
"Dusty Bottoms," Chase said of his character in the 1986 comedy flick in which he co-starred with Martin Short and Steve Martin
