If colonialism imposed racially coded and extractive systems on people and places, paving the way for capitalist exploitation and the reduction of creativity to commodity, what Citra Sasmita proposes is an alternative cosmology that undoes this order. Into Eternal Land
her commission for the Curve gallery at the Barbican Centre in London
is rooted in childhood and collective memories of Balinese spiritual practices
the show nods to choreographed rituals and dramaturgies led by priests and priestesses
The arrangement of the exhibition in the narrow
crescent-shaped space reflects the trajectory of the sun and moon by placing paintings in the traditional Kamasan style from east Bali followed by embroidery created with artisans from the west
and canvases cleaned in rivers and dried under the sun
the works not only index the passage of time and the forces of places; as Sasmita sees it
they are also mediums for communicating with the divine
with the repositioning of art from a luxury item to a cosmological channel with the power to shape everyday life
a series of interviews between women visual artists
is supported in part by the Deborah Buck Foundation with additional funding from the Judith Whitney Godwin Foundation
Chloe Chu You view materials and the body not as things to transcend but vessels through which one can access the spiritual
Citra Sasmita It comes from my recollections
which is a long-term work that explores Balinese history
including our inherited narratives and manuscripts
and looks at the potential to reclaim these patriarchal stories for women
I began with the feminist approach of simply making the women the heroes in my iconography
but I felt there is a contrast between Western and Balinese feminists because we do not live in the same spirit of capitalism
Balinese women are still very much connected with nature
Priests and priestesses in Bali master the arts
Painting is an important priestly duty: they make sacred paintings to bless the house or for protection and safe passage of a soul into the afterlife
I am not a priestess—I chose another spiritual path with my art—but my methods are the same
The images that I draw come to me in my subconscious
Balinese epics were traditionally written in an alphabet that only the Brahmin caste or royal family could decipher; everyone else accessed the story through images
That’s why in reimagining the inequality of these narratives
I wanted to communicate through primordial forms and experiences
CC Your iconographies respond to a range of narratives
Would you consider your work an alternative cosmology
I thought I was only countering the canonical narrative that we had inherited
But I am also focused on the history of Bali and its sociopolitical transformations during the centuries of Dutch colonization
from art for devotion to art for commercial gain
But what distinguishes Balinese Hinduism is that our religion is actually art
We still believe in our relationships with our ancestors
I began to explore these iconographies that have to do with death
CC Your works often depict seemingly violent events
such as women decapitating other women with swords
What rituals or beliefs inform these scenes
CS The decapitation symbolizes ridding ourselves of ego and bringing empathy into our hearts
Our mind is not in the brain; it’s in our hearts
We believe in the sacredness of magma as well because after a volcano erupts it brings us fertile soil
which invites the god of wind to witness and bless the ceremony
There’s a limited color palette in Kamasan painting; we depict light in yellow or gold and fire in red
Turmeric is another common component of our rituals
The show’s epilogue is an installation with a circle of turmeric on the floor with poetry inscribed in it
The text is appropriated from a fourteenth-century poem about the seasons
Before the Gregorian calendar was introduced in Bali
from economic distribution to marriage and death rituals as well as harvests
My interpretation of the poem celebrates the most fertile season in a year and the mother of the earth and universe
We believe that the earth is feminine because it gives life
CC Bali’s spiritual and artistic practices changed under Dutch colonization and following independence as part of modern Indonesia
especially with how we treat traditional Balinese artists
All the important art critics only write about these artists
The spirit of these Balinese artists is quite different
I am a student of a traditional Kamasan painter
Even before stretching her canvas and making the first mark
She respects the day; she respects the material; the intention is pure
She also wants to manifest the divine in the artwork
so it can touch people as a temple of the divine
CC Tell me more about the relationship between Balinese cosmologies and everyday life
And is there an alternative life order that corresponds to your cosmologies
I rent a small space from a Buddhist priest’s family
I need to be surrounded by mountains so I can focus
time is personified by the monstrous god Kala; if you fail to conquer Kala
You can be controlled by time or master time
The work for the Barbican’s Curve commission took one full year to make
When I worked with the community of embroiderers from west Bali
I followed their timing because they are very traditional women
They have ritual duties and families to support
the canvases of the Kamasan paintings were made by craftspeople in Kamasan village
They layer the cloths and bind them with rice-flour glue
You need intense sunlight to make good canvases
All the canvases in the show were created in 2023
I’m happy they were made at the right time
My cosmology corresponds with and imagines nonhierarchical
The figures in my iconography are nude because it’s the purest depiction of humans
which portray hierarchical relationships between gods
I would like to access what the body can feel
I’m the mother of a four-year-old daughter
and I hope other women experience the same rebirth through my work

CITRA — A pedestrian was hit and killed early Wednesday in northeast Marion County
roughly a half mile north of County Road 318 in Citra
Marion County Fire Rescue spokesman James Lucas said his agency was notified at 5:11 a.m
The person was pronounced deceased at the location at 5:18 a.m
Troopers said the pedestrian was walking or standing in a southbound lane of U.S
A semitractor-trailer was southbound in the left lane
Officials said the big rig driver did not see the pedestrian in time and the vehicle struck the person
throwing him across the grassy median and into the northbound inside lane
The man was hit a second time when a northbound Honda CRV was unable to stop in time
The roadway was blocked for several hours while troopers investigated and an official from the Medical Examiner's Office removed the body
Was anyone traveling in the vehicles injured
Pedestrian: Man walking in and out of traffic on I-75 in Ocala was hit and killed Saturday night
Any information about the people involved in the crash
The victim is a 40-year-old man from Citra
FHP officials said it's unknown why the man was walking in the area or where he was going
He left Jacksonville and was on his way to Brooksville to deliver goods for Walmart
The man and woman in the SUV are married and were on their way to New York
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Donterrio Oriental Johnson, 27, of Citra, was arrested yesterday and charged with failing to stop at a fatal crash after a Florida Highway Patrol investigation determined that he was the driver of a gray Ford Mustang that hit and killed a man and then left the scene of the crash on U.S
Omar Ramon Santiago was reportedly driving a Chevrolet Silverado northbound on U.S
crossing the grass center median and the southbound lanes and colliding with a tree on the far shoulder
The victim got out of his truck and walked into the outside southbound lane
Witnesses at the scene reportedly told a Trooper that they saw the Mustang driving southbound on U.S
Hwy 441 and heard a loud “bang.” They turned around and parked on SW 104th Avenue while calling 911
They said the Mustang stopped in the roadway
used a cell phone flashlight to inspect the injuries to the pedestrian and the damage to the Mustang
Debris that was found in the area of the crash belonged to a 2015-2023 Ford Mustang
and the front right “skirting” of the car was left at the scene
Troopers searched law enforcement databases for a matching vehicle in southern Alachua County and northern Alachua County and found multiple possible suspect vehicles
Troopers canvassed the addresses of the vehicles and found a gray 2015 Ford Mustang at Johnson’s address in Citra that was missing the front right “skirting.” The trooper made contact with Johnson at his residence
and Johnson reportedly said he owned the Mustang and had driven through the area of the crash early that morning
Another witness told a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper that he had been with Johnson in downtown Gainesville earlier that night and had seen Johnson get into the driver’s seat of the Mustang at about 3 a.m
He said Johnson was the only occupant of the Mustang and that he said he was driving home to Citra
Johnson reportedly said he had been driving the Mustang at the time of the crash and that he was the sole occupant of the vehicle; he also admitted that the vehicle had an expired registration and no insurance coverage and that he was driving with a revoked license
He reportedly said he saw Santiago’s crashed truck and saw debris in the roadway
then he collided with “something” in the roadway
saw the victim’s body and the damage to his car
and decided against staying to render aid or call law enforcement because of his revoked license
Troopers obtained a warrant to search his vehicle
and reddish brown stains were found on the Mustang that matched the victim’s DNA
a warrant for Johnson’s arrest was issued on October 11 with charges of leaving the scene of a fatal accident and driving with a suspended license as a habitual traffic offender
He has one felony conviction (non-violent) and one misdemeanor conviction (non-violent)
the amount set in the warrant issued by Judge David Kreider
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies
The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
‘He also admitted that the vehicle had an expired registration and no insurance coverage and that he was driving with a revoked license.’
What’s an added charge of vehicular homicide to someone who doesn’t care about the law
From misdemeanor to 2nd degree felony with one poor choice
gets out of car and sees it’s another human being
Tells troopers he had driven through area never admitting to killing someone
So he get charged with vehicular manslaughter which has a far less penalty then a murder charge
Just another case of not wanting to be responsible for actions until he gets arrested and makes up a weak excuse for killing someone
Hope he gets the max but it will never set things right with the victim’s family
Is that his real name ,an alias or was someone high when they named him
The bail amount is an insult to public safety
Family claims he did nothing wrong and is a church boy…… Classic 😂😂
Yall got income tax coming soon so maybe since yall family so deep….
We know atleast 3/4s will be claiming 3-6 kids…

This year’s must-see shows range from a Nordic Pavilion exploring transgender spaces to a compelling Lebanese project confronting the realities of ecocide
Frieze returns to The Shed in May with more than 65 of the world’s leading contemporary art galleries and the acclaimed Focus section led by Lumi Tan
The Indonesian artist reimagines inherited mythologies in her new beaded cow hide paintings for Frieze New York
Ahead of Frieze New York
she reflects on the focus and collective energy she finds in the mountains
and what it means to bring a new cosmology into the concrete reality of New York
Livia Russell Can you talk about your new work for Frieze New York
Citra Sasmita The title of the exhibition is ‘Vortex in The Land of Liberation’
It’s a reflection on how people are now looking to the East for a way of life and philosophy
I’ve been thinking about how shrines and temples are created to commemorate the history and land of a place.
The installation includes hanging cowhide paintings with beads
a powerful female witch figure in Balinese mythology
whose knowledge comes from her tongue: whatever she speaks is a prophecy
we have inherited a concept called Tri Hita Karana – a trinity that connects spirituality
This concept helped me to see my installation as a ‘theatre of the body’
you’ve exhibited all over the world – London
CS I’m really sensitive to the context in which I exhibit my work
Going to Hawaii helped me to get a sense of US and Indigenous histories
the Indigenous people of Hawaii are very similar to the people of Bali
I saw a mural made by the Indonesian maestro Affandi
Affandi paints the hand of God as wide and long as the Pacific Ocean
I learned how to bring abstract ideology into a force for action and a commitment to nature.
I want to create a spirituality that can be accepted by people who live in ‘concrete jungles’
steel structures connect to the urban space
green is a colour – it has a semiotic function
LR How does gender figure in your vision of nature
CS Placing the woman figure as the protagonist in my painting is my political statement as a feminist
I’m responding to Balinese patriarchal narratives I’ve inherited in which women are presented for their sexuality
I challenge this gaze by making all the figures in my work women
A volcano is often seen as masculine because of its eruption
and that softness gives us time to run to safety
even when we treat nature as an object to be destroyed in the name of progress.
Our people still believe nature represents our body and its organs: the rivers are our veins
art remains integrated with ritual and social culture
it’s less about commercializing art and more about seeing art as door that opens on to new knowledge
I play with the experience of a woman’s body giving birth
LR The omega shape feels also distinctly womb-like
Can you talk more about the significance of your material choices
minerals – are related to the cultural memory of Balinese ritual
Cowhide is used in ceremonies in Bali that happen once every 50 and 100 years to mark a huge reconciliation with nature
I’m performing my own reconciliation with the art world
I see my artwork in a similar way: it’s a purification
and they pass down their creations as heirlooms
I’ve inherited cloth from my mother and grandmother
The memory of their bodies is in the cloth
You put all your knowledge of being a woman into the cloth
I feel a strong calling to use cloth as my main material
when European painting began to influence of the art of Bali
We didn’t believe in the durability of art
but the artistic knowledge would remain in our bodies
LR How do you approach the tradition of Kamasan painting
CS I’ve been researching Kamasan painting for six years
I learned the technique from Priestess Mangku Muriati
who negotiated with her father to be allowed to paint
the men are taught the techniques and narratives of Kamasan painting
They design the composition of the theatre of the canvas
involving grinding the pigment from stone and making glue
Female painters navigate the old narratives with a different gaze
they show Balinese women fighting in the war against Dutch colonialism
which is rarely shown by male Kamasan painters
My iconography is similar to that of Kamasan painting
LR How do you navigate past and future through Kamasan painting
CS One of the teachings of our manuscripts is that there is something illogical about our consciousness
you find that our manuscripts are not only talking about historical events
The complexity of this provides endless inspiration for me
I’m interested in how our iconography can have an archetypical relationship with another culture in the world
Balinese iconography touches that of the Amazonian people
In my painting of a vortex – symbolized by the snake and fire – we’re entering a posthuman world
but in our acceptance of a new knowledge that has not yet been written
I started to believe that you have to see nature as superhuman
I think we’re already entering that kind of mindset
LR What does time in the studio mean to you
I rent the space and pandopo from the family of the high priest Brahmana Budha
I just roll it up and put it in the corner of the room
I feel the inspiration for my paintings grow
The energy of the mountain gives me focus; it brings me to a meditative state
I cannot start a painting if I feel any anger
I need to clear my body and my mind before beginning
but accepting a mistake is also very enlightening.
I work with two assistants who help me with the beadwork
I really like to work in a collaborative way
involving a community of women in my painting
I can sense the collective energy from them
and it’s really triggered me to think about what kind of language I want to use in my painting.
CS I began using beads when I made the work for my Barbican show [2025]
beads are used to cleanse – or neutralize – energy
they bury precious beads and minerals such as diamond
silver in order to cast away bad spirits and ground their houses so that lightning will not strike.
LR How do you see your practice developing
CS I would love to explore maritime culture
we have a journey concept called Nyegara Gunung – from the mountain to the sea
but I haven’t yet developed the coastal context
I want to look at how maritime culture has influenced or threatened other islands in the archipelago
with connections formed not only through trading relations but also geopolitically
What kind of civilization emerges when different cultures – like Islamic and local cultures – meet
How does tolerance form through those connections
We live in such a global context where we’re free to connect

Citra Sasmita: Interview of the Month
Citra Sasmita grew up in the traditional Balinese Hindu culture
That flows into how her first UK solo show
is not just visually compelling but has plenty behind how it looks
The Indonesian artist invites us on a symbolic journey along the Barbican’s Curve Gallery through five phases exploring ancestral memory
and migration across the Indonesian archipelago as they take us towards enlightenment
Sasmita is also inspired by stories of heaven
and hell – from the Hindu epic Mahabharata to Dante’s Inferno
The Prologue features hanging cow hides representing shelter and symbolising the memory of the space
The beads in the cowhide symbolise the precious things moved on the journey
Citra Sasmita: Into Eternal Land The Curve
Barbican January 2025 View of Act One – © Citra Sasmita
Act One features Kamasan paintings that stretch a total of 32 metres in length
using the traditional colours of a Balinese style that originated in the village of Kamasan in the 16th century
these paintings are created horizontally and can extend for hundreds of metres
often around the ceilings of traditional Balinese architecture
Kamasan paintings are known for their detailed depictions of scenes from Hindu epics
while female characters are frequently portrayed as mere companions
I reimagine female figures as protagonists and central figures in the narrative
the experience of hell in my work is not one of torment; instead
it represents an act of purification to prepare us for heaven
who describes suffering as an internal struggle until he reaches enlightenment
My artwork symbolizes that transformative internal journey
hanging artworks crafted from hair and python skin
a sacred space where individuals can come together and unite as a community with a shared purpose and mission
Creating a temple is vital for safeguarding our cultural heritage and preserving the natural world around us
It acts as a sanctuary where the old traditions and values can be honoured and passed down through generations
we also protect the environment that sustains us
recognising the interconnectedness between humanity and nature
Act Three features embroidered works that take the form of flags
symbolising our awareness of true identity and roots
These flags represent not only the strength and unity of the community but also pay homage to the god of the wind
it becomes an embodiment of the wind itself
encouraging us to consider whether the divine will bless our rituals and intentions
The movement of the flag serves as a reminder to remain attuned to the spiritual forces at play in our lives and communities
The journey concludes in a meditative space
an Epilogue that stands for reaching enlightenment
The way that I make the compositions is traditional
but I bring my own cosmology into the context of the Curve Gallery
It comes from my collective memory from Bali
and also the knowledge injected from my travels and residencies
I found the oral stories of indigenous people related to stories in Bali – there are connections and evidence of how traditions migrate
The paintings are in a style from the east of Bali
The technique is nearly extinct – I asked many people
but it took a long time before I found one priestess who could do the embroidery
I didn’t instruct her – she just knew what to do
A lot of my iconography operates like a semiotic code
like pre-linguistic signs before we had written language
The fire refers to Balinese beliefs and rituals
We believe our spirituality stems from the mountain Agung
Symbolically fire is one of the element of purification in our ritual
Bali is located in the centre of the Pacific ‘Ring of Fire,’ which means the island is home to several volcanoes
these seismic events are not only seen as natural occurrences but also as indicators of potential disasters or political issues
Section of Act Two – photo Paul Carey-Kent
Snakes hold profound symbolism in our genealogy
representing various vital elements of nature and the body
the tail of the snake is identified with the mountain
a powerful representation of stability and strength
The body of the snake signifies the flow of the river
which embodies the essence of life and continuity
representing adaptability and movement through the landscape
highlighting the vastness and depth of our interconnectedness with the water element
an important idea derived from ancient Sanskrit teachings
Kundalini refers to the inner energy that lies dormant within everyone
often depicted as a coiled serpent at the base of the spine
This energy is considered a source of spiritual power and awakening
As the Kundalini energy rises along the spine
which play a crucial role in our physical and emotional well-being
One of the key areas influenced by this energy is the hypothalamus
a small but essential gland located in the brain
The hypothalamus regulates many vital functions in the body
It also plays a crucial role in the endocrine system by controlling the release of hormones that influence various bodily organs
the flow of the Kundalini energy supports the body’s overall balance and harmony
The symbolism of snakes not only reflects our connection to the natural world
but also serves as a reminder of the profound internal energies that shape our lives and experiences
And you use huge python skins as a ground for the images in the temple
But the skins are all reserved for the big designer brands
But I needed to bring the sacred context to the work
The sacred context here is the temple structures
we do so with the intention of praying for the protection of nature
We deeply believe that harming nature can lead to suffering for future generations
we create shrines that incorporate elements such as python skins and hair
These materials symbolise our inherited DNA
specifically reflecting the matrilineal lineage that connects us across generations
the shrines serve as dedicated spaces that acknowledge our existence as human beings within the natural world
Section from Act One – photo Paul Carey-Kent
Much of what you depict is striking just taken as surrealist images
But can we zoom in on some details to see what lies behind them
where water flows from women and fire forms flowers
the human body is composed of approximately 80% water
This remarkable fact highlights how we are fundamentally connected to water; we could say that we are both the source and vessel of it
fuelling our very existence and inspiring a multitude of experiences
I wish to explore the themes of inspiration
Surrounding the central figures in my work is the element of fire
which represents both passion and transformation
This fiery imagery intertwines with the motifs of plants and flowers
suggesting a duality that explores beauty in its most complex forms
there is a darker undertone to this beauty
as I draw inspiration from Charles Baudelaire’s ‘Les Fleurs du Mal’
where flowers symbolise the coexistence of beauty and suffering
I aim to illustrate the intricate and sometimes turbulent nature of life
and creation – inviting viewers to contemplate the powerful relationships between water
and the opposing forces of light and darkness
where heads split or are held out decapitated
there is a belief that evil resides in the head
suggesting that our true essence and understanding lie within the heart
This concept implies that the mind can often be a source of negativity or ego
which is why some traditional artworks depict the act of decapitation
this imagery is not meant to signify the physical act of harming an enemy; rather
it symbolizes the removal of the ego or the inner adversary that obstructs one’s spiritual growth and enlightenment
This idea of splitting or decapitating the negative aspects of the self is akin to the transformative process experienced during childbirth
Just as a mother must undergo a profound metamorphosis for new life to emerge
so too must an individual shed their ego to reach a higher state of consciousness
The image of a lotus flower reaching full bloom represents this journey; just as a baby cannot be born until the lotus has fully opened
enlightenment and self-realization cannot be achieved until one has transcended the confines of the ego
Flag from Act Three – photo Paul Carey-Kent
One of the flag embroideries shows a dancing thistle…
This is why I focus on illustrating herbal medicine derived from our natural surroundings
Diseases often resonate with the elements of nature
nature provides the remedies we need for healing
The seven flags in my work symbolise the journey to enlightenment through the seven chakras
the chakras ascend through the solar plexus
culminating at the crown chakra at the top
The dancing figure represents the second – sacral – chakra
which is essential to our creative and emotional well-being

was arrested yesterday and charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of child abuse without great bodily harm after allegedly chasing and hitting a vehicle with three people inside
The responding Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy reported that at about 7:10 p.m
Robinson saw a custody exchange at Veterans Memorial Park (7340 SW 41st Place)
The deputy reported that Robinson disapproved of the male victim taking custody of the child
and after the male victim put the child into his vehicle
Robinson allegedly pursued the male victim’s vehicle in his own vehicle and tried to run the vehicle off the road or box it in
hitting the victim’s vehicle repeatedly with his own vehicle in an apparent attempt to disable it
A female victim was also in the vehicle with the child and male victim
The deputy wrote that the impacts were forceful enough to “aggressively jostle” the occupants of the vehicle
throwing them into the doors and other interior surfaces of the vehicle
Both vehicles reportedly had paint transfer and damage consistent with the victims’ account of the incident
Robinson reportedly admitted pursuing the vehicle and trying to stop it even after the male victim took evasive action to create distance between the vehicles
He reportedly admitted that the vehicles collided
but he claimed that the contact was initiated by the male victim
The deputy wrote that Robinson was fully aware that there was a young child inside the vehicle and “continued to perform highly dangerous and erratic vehicle maneuvers upon busy public roadways
placing the victim and general public at tremendous risk.”
Robinson has no criminal convictions in Alachua or Marion Counties

said: “While our focus remains firmly on increasing the number of rental homes available
the secondary market for rental homes is developing and by taking an active role in it
we can ensure that these homes don’t just remain in the private rental sector where they are needed but give their residents a landlord they know and can trust to deliver the service they need
it is important to appreciate how much our business has developed in just three years
We’ll continue to grow and evolve to ensure we keep our focus on helping more people live in the homes they want
and delivering a high-quality customer experience.”
The UK PRS Fund was launched in 2015 by Sigma with investment from a “leading sovereign wealth fund” and Gatehouse Bank
group managing director of Gatehouse Living Group
delivered in partnership with a leading sovereign wealth fund
is the second single-family rental platform exited by Gatehouse Living Group
establishing another benchmark transaction for the sector.”
said “We’re really proud to have supported both parties on the sale and to be able to showcase the demand
resilience and opportunity that single-family build-to-rent housing can offer both investors and renters alike.”

Citra Sasmita’s inaugural UK exhibition
“Into Eternal Land,” transforms the Barbican’s Curve gallery into a vivid narrative space that beckons viewers into a realm where traditional Balinese artistry converges with contemporary feminist discourse
Drawing from the 15th-century Kamasan painting technique—historically dominated by male artists—Sasmita reimagines these visual narratives to foreground powerful female figures
thereby challenging entrenched gender hierarchies
The exhibition unfolds in a theatrical sequence
commencing with a prologue and advancing through three acts to an epilogue
Each segment immerses visitors in a multisensory experience
and even scent to explore themes of ancestral memory
The ambient composition by Indonesian composer Agha Praditya Yogaswara further enhances the sacred atmosphere
enveloping the viewer in a contemplative soundscape
A standout piece within this journey is the expansive scroll painting that stretches along the gallery’s curved walls
this artwork portrays women undergoing profound transformations—metamorphosing into trees
depicted with flaming auras and dynamic forms
encapsulating Sasmita’s vision of a post-patriarchal world where female agency is both celebrated and reclaimed
Citra Sasmita: Into Eternal Land at Barbican
Image courtesy of Jo Underhill and BarbicanSasmita’s work not only reclaims traditional Balinese art forms but also confronts the island’s colonial past and the commodification of its culture
By collaborating with local artisans and integrating indigenous materials
she honors and revitalizes endangered craft traditions
positioning her art as both a tribute to and a reimagining of Balinese heritage
“Into Eternal Land” stands as a testament to the enduring power of art to challenge societal norms and envision new mythologies that resonate across cultures and epochs

The Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) launched the first phase of the direct domain registration service (kw.) today
with the first phase lasting for six months
During a press conference held for this occasion
Director of the Public Sector Governance Department at CITRA
stated that the first phase is called the “Sunrise Period,” which provides an opportunity for government entities
and holders of third-level domains (.com.kw / .net.kw / .org.kw) to register direct domain names under the national extension (kw.)
in accordance with the domain name registration policy issued by CITRA
AlMazyad added that CITRA has been managing and organizing the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) since 2017
which led to the creation of a comprehensive electronic system for registering third-level domains
CITRA has also set the necessary policies to ensure the organization of this process in accordance with the approved domain name registration guidelines
AlMazyad called on all concerned parties to visit CITRA’s official website to review the full details related to the registration policy and the necessary procedures for registering domains during the Sunrise Period
she mentioned that it is possible to contact CITRA through official channels for more information

— Few things are more pressing for college students than exam-time stress and shopping on a tight budget
And as University of Florida sophomore Amelia Ernst works on the art of the latter
she’s grateful she can shop for free at the campus food pantry
“You don’t have to be missing food or struggling to come here
and it shows stuff like this is important for a community,” she said
In 2015, the Hitchcock Field and Fork Pantry opened its doors to the campus community
the pantry relies upon weekly donations from a local food bank
a once-per-month stocking by grocery chain Publix
Operations Coordinator Lori Benson said that the pantry has been receiving weekly shipments of hundreds of heads of lettuce from a surprising place — a research study-launched shipping container farm in Citra
even if students were unsure how to incorporate lettuce into their meals
Produce is probably what students want the most because they’re looking for nutritious items,” Benson said
so it’s awesome to see how it’s grown and see them where they replant the little seedlings … We were afraid students might not be too excited about lettuce
so we printed out recipes like what you can do with lettuce
About 30 minutes from the Gainesville campus, a stark white shipping container gets plopped on the far side of a University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences research center footprint
It’s where professor and researcher Ying Zhang spends countless hours calibrating the water system and laboring over lettuce
The UF/IFAS assistant professor of agricultural and biological engineering said that the project
sponsored by Seminole Electric Cooperative
principally seeks to understand the demands of indoor farming on the electrical grid
researchers hope to further their understanding of water efficiency and potential effects of a shipping container farm upon a local community — from environmental concerns to economic opportunities
they could be the future,” she said of the project
“It helps our people to be able to grow produce locally
I think that’s the main purpose of the indoor farming technologies.”
Zhang explained that she and her team seeded the plants in the nursery area of the shipping container
which runs along the wall to the left of the main door
the team transplanted the lettuce to the vertical growing panels
the team’s first harvest yielded 521 heads of lettuce
the yield vacillated between about 200 and 400
But sticking with the concept of sustainability
the byproduct of the labor-intensive research — the lettuce itself — was not discarded
It was delivered weekly to the UF food pantry to stock the refrigerator shelves
it means healthier meals that work with her budget
She’s even utilized some of the recipes Benson
a former executive director for a Habitat for Humanity location
has drummed up as Ernst cooks with her boyfriend
“I’m not usually here in time for all the good stuff
"But all the meat and the veggies are the most important things I come here looking for
Chad Gerber and his flying disc-loving All-American Dog
“Citra,” are more than just a talented freestyle team
They’ve both overcome severe health problems in their lives
and have found a new love for physical exercise within Disc Dog
Gerber and Citra competed at the AKC Disc Dog Challenge, presented by The Farmer’s Dog. The competition features four disc games. The Minneapolis, Minnesota team competed in Freestyle at the event in Asheville, North Carolina. The AKC Disc Dog Challenge will premiere on ESPN2 on Saturday
they immediately sought a dog with a lot of energy
an All-American Dog named “Shiba,” who would run with Vicky daily
They soon found that even after five or six miles
and looked to see if any organizations in their area offered anything where they could compete with Shiba
and I guess the rest is history,” Gerber says
she looks excited and has lots of drive,” he recalls
The Gerbers knew she’d be a perfect disc teammate
But once they started doing routine testing for her, they discovered something no one wants to hear: she had heartworm
“She had to go through heartworm treatment to get her all better
getting three injections over four months,” Gerber says
she was ready to start chasing balls and Frisbees and kept on getting better.”
Gerber shares a similar recovery story that only made him and Citra closer
Gerber was an athlete and loved being involved in sports
and was playing basketball when he was 10 years old when he started to feel sick
“It was completely unexpected,” Gerber says
“There’s no genetic markers or issues that can be common with people that have kidney transplants.” He remembers that doctors had determined that it was an inflammation of blood vessels that attacked his kidneys and led to kidney failure
his parents were able to donate their kidneys
and his dad ended up donating his for the organ transplant
Gerber was in the hospital for about five weeks before he could go home
“I had one episode of rejection nine months after that
and it’s been smooth sailing for 26 years.”
The biggest downside that Gerber faced was being unable to do contact sports like he used to
but tried to get back into baseball in high school
He moved onto non-contact sports like golf and bowling
so he could still fuel his competitive nature without risking his kidneys in any way
when I found out you could compete with your dogs
it was something I never had really considered before then,” he says
We’ve had to learn to become good teammates,” Gerber says
and there are lots of games where we can play in UpDog where she can score well and get on podiums.”
UpDog and disc competitions have become such a big part of Gerber’s life
that he wanted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his kidney transplant with a disc competition
“I thought it would be a natural fit to convert the fund money into donations for a charity,” he says
He organized a one-day competition with two fields, where friends and disc-loving teams came from all over Minnesota to compete. They had a lot of support from the local crew in Minnesota, and between donations and corporate matching, they were able to raise $4500 for Donate Life in Minnesota
The bond that Gerber and Citra have is just one of the many things they’ve gained from the sport of disc
“There’s a lot of teams that we’ve gotten to know around the country,” Gerber says
The AKC Disc Dog Challenge brings together teams from all over the U.S
Citra isn’t a one-disc pony either. With Vicky, Citra competes in AKC Scent Work
and just got her Elite Champion title in the sport
and I really like to throw the disc with lots of different releases and formats,” Gerber says
“I like to showcase myself as much as helping to showcase Citra
The AKC Disc Dog Challenge will premiere on ESPN2 on Saturday

The popular Citra 3DS emulator was shut down earlier this year amid a wider crackdown by Nintendo, but a new project called Azahar filled us with hope
this new emulator is now available to download
The Azahar team posted a release candidate for the emulator on GitHub over the weekend. The developers said this wasn’t a stable release but could evolve into one if no major issues are discovered within the following seven days.
Azahar’s developers urged users to test the emulator to catch any issues before its promotion to a full release, asking users to report the issue via GitHub.
“If you are unwilling to tolerate potential minor issues, you may be better off waiting until a release candidate is promoted to a full release,” the developers cautioned. In other words, you shouldn’t expect a perfect release straight away. And you shouldn’t expect your potato phone to run many games at first (if ever).
This emulator doesn’t allow for the launching of encrypted games and .3DS files by default. Instead, Azahar uses CCI files for games. However, the team says changing the extension of files from 3DS to CCI also works.
Nevertheless, this first release brings a few notable features and fixes. Easily the most noteworthy addition is the ability to disable “right eye rendering.” The Nintendo 3DS rendered games for both left and right eyes, which is handy for 3D-enabled titles but a waste of resources when playing 2D games. In fact, the developers claim a performance boost of up to 50% when only rendering for one eye.
In any event, this release is good news for 3DS emulation on Android. So we hope it continues to receive plenty of love from the developers and manages to avoid falling foul of Nintendo.

0•The Nintendo 3DS was a super popular console
It sold over 75 million units during its run and was home to some iconic titles
The handheld system was discontinued in September 2020
and the Nintendo eShop closed in March 2023
emulation is the only way to enjoy some of these old favorites
here are the best Nintendo 3DS emulators for PC and Mac
it’s worth pointing out that we have excluded a few options from our list due to a lack of active development or untrustworthy development practices
there are only a few good Nintendo 3DS emulators on PC and Mac and one of those still uses the final build of Citra
RetroArch is the best all-in-one emulator on most platforms. It’s one of our favorite emulators on Android
and iOS users too since it can do Nintendo 3DS games as well as dozens of other consoles
and then you can play it or configure your experience from there
It’s not bad at all once you get used to it
but it may be a bit intimidating for people who are new to the emulator experience
RetroArch uses cores to play games. Think of each core as a console that you can load in like a plugin. Thus, you only have to download the cores you want for the consoles you’re interested in. The 3DS core is the open-source Citra emulator, but the Citra developer was shut down in early 2024 after legal action from Nintendo
That means that it’s no longer in active development
but it still has good performance and game support
With the original team behind Citra no longer working on the project, it’s only a matter of time before Azahar surpasses it in compatibility. The two existing forks already had things like online play and Amiibo support, and the team has also teased the ability to re-download purchased eShop titles
which is a great way to sidestep outright piracy
The Azahar 3DS emulator has a few other anti-piracy measures
including dropping support for the .3ds filetype
The developers claim that its history is tied to legally questionable practices
which is why it only supports the .cci filetype
all you need to do is rename your existing ROMs
but it’s an extra step that other emulators don’t have
Does that mean it avoid the same fate as Citra
While Azahar has now taken the crown as the best Citra fork
there’s one more Nintendo 3DS emulator that’s worth checking out
it’s still early in development and things are still rough around the edges
Some games have graphical errors and others don’t load at all
We also found audio issues on a number of titles
if the other two above aren’t doing it for you
It’s still in active development so hopefully some of the rough edges are smoothed out over time
If you’re looking to game on mobile, here is our list of the best Nintendo 3DS emulators for Android
We also share this honor with our clients and partners who have trusted us to bring their visions to life.”

was arrested yesterday for a March 2023 incident in which she allegedly pushed a woman to the ground
and then came back with a rifle and threatened to kill four people
a Gainesville Police Department Officer responded to Gainesville Place Apartments (2800 SW 35th Pl)
where the victims and witnesses said Rucker had started a physical fight with a woman
grabbing her hair and dragging her down to the ground
A witness reportedly said Rucker was angry because the victim was in a relationship with her former boyfriend
The victim reportedly sustained minor injuries
Two witnesses corroborated the victim’s account
telling the officer they saw Rucker drag the victim to the ground by her hair and “jump” her
Rucker reportedly left in a vehicle after the fight but returned about 25 minutes later and allegedly pulled a rifle out of her vehicle
She allegedly pointed the rifle at four victims
“Whatchu about to do?” and saying
“I’ll shoot y’all.”
but a warrant was issued for her arrest after formal charges were filed in September
Rucker was arrested in Marion County on April 14
for allegedly threatening to harm a woman with a chrome pipe
Rucker has been formally charged with simple battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
She has no criminal convictions but is still facing the Marion County charge
She has a history of dropped charges in Marion County
aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in 2021
and child abuse without great bodily harm in 2023
Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $60,000

More drama with this woman than most soap operas
Emotional reaction coupled with violent tendencies will get her into prison quickly
Doubtful she’s of any relation to Darius but a wagon wheel could work wonders for her social dysfunction
She looks like the twin of a certain US Congress perp
She needs to get some real jail time and think about where her life is going
Why didn’t they take that rag off her head and those piercings out of her face for her mugshot
Violate her “rights” some would claim
The ram tattoo on her neck is a devil worship thing
I was just going to ask if that was a tattoo of female ovaries and fallopian tube
