His mother said she traded a sack of flour for him
as that was the payment for the midwife's assistance at his birth
He was the fifth of eight children: Elizabeth
He spent his early boyhood summers living in the Uintah mountains in Paradise Park at the family’s sawmill
He found he was happiest on the back of a horse
ice skating on the frozen rivers and ponds
He usually had a pocketknife and a homemade “flipper” in his pocket
Clyde was a “Jack of all trades.” With his inherited Bartlett ingenuity
he could fix almost anything with a little baling wire or a leather strap
could remember the words of poems he learned in grade school
taught his daughters to ballroom dance in the family room to his old record collection
and had a story for every “treasure” he collected in his workroom or shed
He was a tenderhearted man who worried and cared for his wife
His dying concern was for his beloved Marie’s welfare.
Clyde attended Tridell’s four-room elementary school until 8th grade
He graduated from Alterra High School in 1950 with academic honors and was awarded a scholarship to BYU.
He entered BYU in the fall of 1950 and graduated in 1954 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a minor in English
“Bled BYU Blue!” He later went on to earn a Master of Education degree at Utah State University in School Administration with a minor in Psychology
He spent most of his career in the employment of Logan City School District as principal of the old Whittier
He was in the United States Air Force ROTC program at BYU
He served in the United States Air Force stateside during the Korean War
he joined the United States Air Force Reserves and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel
He taught his children to love their country through his example of patriotism.

Jordon ("Black Panther") as twins in the 1930's looking to open a juke joint in a small town in Mississippi
Soon they realize the the place where they set up their shop in
the brothers must defend their new home while also making peace with their past.
I felt like this movie was way too similar to "From Dusk Till Dawn"
The film also takes a lot out of Quentin Tarantino's book so much so I forgot that this was a Ryan Coogler movie
The performances in this movie are all great
Jordan is the standout as he plays the twins with grace and ferocity
are really entertaining characters to follow and they had a lot of depth to them
They were brothers who had a code and lived by it.
Hailee Steinfeld ("Hawkeye") was also electric as Stack's love interest Mary
She was an interesting character to follow but unfortunately is subjected to vampirism early in the film
but a part of me wanted them to just be clan members because they admit to being members before being turned
I felt like the vampires ended up being unnecessary
and the film ended up feeling like another cliche vampire movie in the last third of the runtime
I also thought the film's cinematography was good
Some of the scenes that were filmed in shaded areas looked really dark
The sound mixing could have also been better
I had to really listen to the dialogue on what was happening
I liked the film but probably wouldn't rewatch it again
I still think you should go see the movie as my opinion is one of the few slightly negative opinions in a sea of positive ones

WATCH'He was a blessing': Neighbors and friends remember man shot
Ohio (WKRC) — Residents in Madisonville are remembering a neighbor who they said wasn't afraid to lend a helping hand
Cincinnati Fire Department crews arrived within minutes
66-year-old Clyde Beard died at the scene from a gunshot wound
Jeff Sutterfield lives next door and was a friend of Beard
"I got a pounding on my door from a disturbed woman with blood up to her elbows saying
'He's been shot,'" said Sutterfield
"I looked behind her; I saw my friend Clyde down on the ground."
He said that he put on his shoes and went outside
"I tried to save his life," said Sutterfield
His instincts as a retired paramedic kicked in
I addressed the bleeding as best I could with my hands and did compressions until I was relieved by the fire department," said Sutterfield
Neighbors said that Beard was always there to help when someone needed it
"Clyde was a super [good] guy for the neighborhood
He cut my yard for about the first year I was here
I had a little bit of a heart problem," said Sutterfield
"I'm shocked because Clyde helped me; I mean
he helped keep my lawn nice and keep my bushes trimmed
and he was a blessing," said Clare Mulvaney Reed
The Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati confirmed to Local 12 News that Beard was an employee there
Cincinnati police haven't made any arrests in this case

Clyde moved to Hamilton in 2022 after North Lanarkshire Council refused to extend their lease at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld
Hamilton Academical and Clyde are set to effectively switch stadiums next season after the former announced plans to play their home games in Cumbernauld
League 2 Clyde confirmed on Wednesday that they will continue their tenancy of New Douglas Park in Hamilton
having vacated Broadwood Stadium three years ago
Accies have announced plans to leave their ground of the past 24 years amid a row over stadium ownership and rental and move into Clyde's former home
New Douglas Park has been rented by both clubs this season from a company controlled by Colin McGowan
Last month, Clyde had expressed fears that a five-year agreement signed in 2022 was under threat
but on Thursday they stated that they are "in a position to commit to New Douglas Park for the foreseeable future"
Now Hamilton - relegated from the Championship for breaching licence conditions after their appeal was rejected on Thursday - have responded
They said: "Arrangements are now being made to relocate the club from the start of next season to Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld
with the long-term aim of building a new stadium in Hamilton
"Discussions with South Lanarkshire Council have started in order to identify a suitable location."
Hamilton relegation confirmed as appeal dismissed
'No consensus' about altering Premiership - SPFL
What is still to be decided as season reaches climax
The news came as Hamilton awaited the results of Thursday's appeal against a SPFL decision to deduct them 15 points for breaching league rules
the dismissal of which will result in their relegation from the Championship
"Provision of incorrect information regarding stadium ownership" was one of multiple rule breaches cited by the SPFL for the points deduction
Accies chairman Jock Brown says the club board found the latest proposal to settle a dispute with the stadium owner "unacceptable"
Brown states that "the club is not indebted to the owner"
with the "balance" of payments over the most recent 22 months "substantially in favour of the club"
"So any postponement of settlement of the appropriate balance is inappropriate," a statement adds
"The club's experience of being tenants over the past 22 months has been thoroughly unsatisfactory."
Brown says Accies have been "trying to purchase the company which owns the stadium" for the past year
as that was "the seller's preferred way of completing the transaction" and that "the necessary funds are available"
accepting the offer made by the owner "would be irresponsible"
"unachievable" and not "in the best interests of the club"
Given the uncertainty over the use of the stadium
the SPFL had agreed to extend Clyde's registration details for next season
they believe they have "navigated it successfully" to ensure they can continue to use New Douglas Park
Clyde moved to Hamilton while seeking a permanent home in Glasgow since their own 28-year stay at Broadwood came to an end three years ago after North Lanarkshire Council refused to extend their lease in Cumbernauld

Texas — With water line breaks and boil water notices
residents in Clyde are upset with the quality of their water
"It’s getting ridiculous," said resident Martha Johnson
RELATED | Clyde issues another boil water notice following water main break
Clyde's Interim City Manager said the issues stem from old water lines
"We have a very old infrastructure in parts of the town," said Rodger Brown
"Right now we’re dealing with a 12 inch water line and we’ve had multiple breaks on it."
Brown said that the pipe was put in the ground in 1971 and a water main break is what put the city into a boil water notice
it just means that dirt might have gotten in there while we were repairing the lines and so
just boil out any kind of impurities in that," said Brown
RELATED | Callahan County offers guidance after lead found in drinking water of two homes in Clyde
Some residents said they were concerned that the city is putting money into the $15 million Hanner Sports Complex rather than fixing the water lines
"The thing that just is misunderstood is that there wasn’t money that we took away from infrastructure to build a sports complex
"The situation that they don’t understand is the city didn’t have $15 million in their hand and say
‘well I could spend $15 million in infrastructure or I could spend $15 million on a sports complex.’ That’s not how that works
There was the ability to get a certificate of obligation to fix
to build the sports complex and that same ability was not there for the infrastructure repair."
RELATED | Clyde issues second boil water notice this week after new water main break
Many residents said all they want is for their water lines to be fixed so they can stop having these issues
Brown said the city is working on its old infrastructure and asked the community for some patience
"We talk about failing infrastructure but because
for the last few years we’ve been replacing and repairing and putting infrastructure in
we’re about 65% of having new infrastructure," said Brown
but we’re still a great little city to live in
So I hope the people will just bare with us and understand that yes
you’re inconvenienced for a few hours but I promise you we’ll get the water back on to you."
The City of Clyde will remain in a boil water notice until the repairs are finished and water samples are sent for testing
before using water for drinking or cooking
residents are encourages to boil it for two minutes

Tombaugh built more than 30 telescopes himself
including this one on his family's Kansas farm

From farm boy to cosmic pioneer: The life and legacy of Clyde Tombaugh
When Clyde Tombaugh built his first telescope at the age of 20
he could not have known it was setting him forward on a path that would eventually lead to the discovery of the first known dwarf planet
Let's take a look at the life of this amazing person
Clyde William Tombaugh was born near Streator
where a hailstorm ruined his family's crops and put an end to his hopes to attend college at the time
the amateur astronomer was offered a job at Lowell Observatory in Arizona
Tombaugh earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in astronomy from the University of Kansas
working at the observatory during the summers
Tombaugh passed away at his home in Las Cruces
Tombaugh constructed his first telescope at the age of 20
he put together a 23-centimeter reflector out of the crankshaft of a 1910 Buick and parts from a cream separator
young Clyde made detailed observations of Jupiter and Mars
which he sent to Lowell Observatory in hopes of garnering feedback from professional astronomers
Instead of receiving constructive criticism
Tombaugh was instead offered a position at the observatory
The staff had been searching for an amateur astronomer to operate their new photographic telescope in search of
but there were still discrepancies that led scientists to conclude yet another planet existed
he turned the telescope toward the search for the elusive Planet X
though he died before the new planet could be found
he joined the search for the missing planet
The telescope at the observatory was equipped with a camera that would take two photographs of the sky on different days
A device known as a blink compactor rapidly flipped back and forth between the two photographs
Stars and galaxies essentially remained unmoving in the images
but anything closer could be visually identified by its motion across the sky
Tombaugh spent approximately a week studying each pair of photographs
On Feb. 18, 1930, Tombaugh noticed movement across the field of a pair of images taken a month beforehand. After studying the object to confirm it, the staff of Lowell Observatory officially announced the discovery of a ninth planet on March 13
With the discovery came the right to name the new body, so the staff opened up a worldwide call for suggestions. Eleven-year-old Venetia Burney of England suggested the name Pluto because the dark
distant planet resembled the abode of the Greek god of the underworld
Although most famous for the discovery of the most controversial body in the solar system
and several galactic star clusters over the course of his career
