Cody Rhodes is on his way back to WWE television
Cody Rhodes suffered the most high-profile and perhaps most crushing defeat of his career
Rhodes walked into the main event as the Undisputed WWE Champion, but he walked out with an unwanted piece of history. Rhodes will now forever be remembered as the man who John Cena pinned to become World Champion for a record 17th time
Rhodes appeared to be closing on victory until Travis Scott made his presence felt
Although the American Nightmare managed to hit Scott with a Cross Rhodes
the Hip Hop star later pulled the referee out of the ring as the champion looked to retain his title
Rhodes’ desire to do the right thing proved to be his downfall as he refused to hit Cena with the title belt
This allowed Cena to land a low blow and his own shot with the belt to snatch the win
Rhodes was last seen heading back to his tour bus with wife Brandi after turning down a backstage interview
Cody Rhodes hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since that defeat to Cena
but it seems a comeback isn’t too far away
The American Nightmare is now being advertised for SmackDown on May 16, the first episode of the show after Backlash six days earlier. On WWE’s website
Rhodes is the only Superstar on the graphic
while he’s also listed as a “featured Superstar” for the taping

A tough start to the weekend for Cody Ware and Rick Ware Racing. The No. 51 Ford failed pre-race inspection twice. As a result, the team loses pit stall selection and their car chief for the rest of the NASCAR weekend at Texas
This season has not been great for Cody Ware
Rick Ware Racing has been doing a good job of pulling in sponsors for this season
It is clear that the team doesn’t have the same speed they had at the end of last year
In the grand scheme of things, this penalty isn’t going to matter much
Ware is probably going to finish in that P25 to P35 finish
The NASCAR Cup Series pre-race inspection is complete at Texas Motor Speedway.Th No
51 car chief Dave Jones has been ejected for remainder of this event and the 51 has lost pit selection for this event
But that is how this NASCAR weekend has kicked off at Texas in the first place
Rain has put a wet blanket on Friday’s plans
Both the Truck and Xfinity Series have practice and qualifying canceled due to the weather today
NASCAR fans are dying for an exciting race weekend
Will Texas deliver that after a month of tough races
The water just wouldn’t quit coming out of the walls. So, the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Texas will not have qualifying. Austin Hill, the winner from Talladega, will lead the field to green from the pole.
Austin Hill has been doing great this season. He has three wins on the season, and a couple of them have been a bit lucky. Can he get his fourth win of the season at Texas?

The rain came through today and just soaked the track. What they call weepers, water leaking out of the SAFER barrier walls and the cracks in the track, keep showing up. So, we’re going to go straight into racing tomorrow for the NASCAR Xfinity race at Texas.
Justin Allgaier, Jesse Love, Jeb Burton, Harrison Burton, Sheldon Creed, Sam Mayer, Matt DeBenedetto, Daniel Dye, and Anthony Alfredo make up the rest of the top-10 for tomorrow’s race. A few of these drivers would love to get a win at Texas.
Despite the qualifying session being canceled, Katherine Legge made the race. She made it in while two drivers, CJ McLaughlin and Dawson Cram, had to go home with only 38 spots available.
Now we get ready for the Truck Series race tonight. It should be a fun event to watch. This series has put on great racing in the last year.

The Nevada product struggled with his shot in his 14 games for the Valley after being traded to them at the deadline from the Charlotte Hornets
Welcome to our Phoenix Suns Season in Review series
where we take a closer look at each player who suited up during the 2024–25 campaign
and what each player can do to take the next step heading into next season
It took Nevada Wolfpack alum Cody Martin more than a month to suit up for the Valley after being traded to Phoenix at the trade deadline this season
not giving him much time or healthy opportunities to show what he could bring to the team as he was dealing with a sports hernia injury
he didn’t eclipse double-digit scoring once or have a game with multiple threes
registering just one game with more than 20 minutes played for the team
Martin will be entering the final year of his four-year
$31 million contract he signed with the Charlotte Hornets before the 2022-2023 season
The final year of his deal becomes fully guaranteed on June 30th
Martin was hurt with a sports hernia when he was acquired by the Suns for Jusuf Nurkić back in March
he made his debut more than a month after being traded
he averaged 14:42 minutes a game and took just 4.1 shots
If that were his season totals excluding his time with Charlotte
it would be his lowest minutes per game and second-fewest shots per game of his career
He wasn’t on the team long enough or played enough significant minutes to be considered a part of the problem for the Suns
but he shot 50% from the field or better in just five games for the team and under 35% in his nine other contests
His best game for the team came in the Valley’s best win of the season, beating the eventual 64-win Cleveland Cavaliers
Martin averaged 1.3 stocks per game (steals and blocks) with the Suns in his limited minutes; his four stocks in the team’s win against the Chicago Bulls were significant during the squad’s short
but strong stint of play in the middle of March
he’s an aggressive attacker at the glass and provided strong hustle for the team
Martin struggled to shoot efficiently in his time with the Valley
Shooting 35.1% from the field and 11.1% from deep
but it’s fair to attribute that partly due to the two-month absence he had that started while he was still in Charlotte
but he barely shot a third of that on less than two attempts with the Suns
Martin is unlikely to crack the Suns' rotation if he’s on the team next season
his salary and expiring contract can be used as a vehicle for the Suns to make trades with other teams
The Suns appear to be trying to get under the second apro,n and Phoenix may not guarantee his contract as a result
Was it the reason the Suns had a bad season
But his play with the team was not strong enough to justify the Suns getting rid of a first-round pick just to get rid of Jusuf Nurkić
Potentially if he returns next year and has a full training camp and is healthy
Local political drama in the village of Palmetto Bay is costing residents thousands of dollars in legal fees — and there's still no clear final act
Palmetto Bay Council Member Steve Cody has sued the village and 25-year-old Vice Mayor Mark Merwitzer over the latter’s qualifications as an elected official
The village must pay for its own legal representation as well as Merwitzer’s defense
while the village's public records show Cody has worked with a lobbyist the city fired last year
The battle started the way many conflicts unfold in South Florida: A dispute over vacant land
Miami-Dade County last year wanted to sell a tract of green space near Palmetto Bay, just south of SW 140th Street. The land has FPL power lines running through it, and no county department had a use for the vacant property
Some homeowners who live next to the land wanted to buy it for themselves
but so did the Village of Palmetto Bay — where the administration wanted to make a linear park they referred to as “Tanglewood park.”
The Village hired government affairs attorney Jorge Luis Lopez last April to lobby the county on their behalf for the Tanglewood project
Things were moving along — until a new member joined the council after the November election
READ MORE: Coconut Creek election marked by feud and defamation lawsuits
I put on the agenda an item to rescind that contract and I secured the votes to get rid of that contract altogether for this issue,” said Merwitzer
Merwitzer joined the council late last year and undid the town’s application for the Tanglewood land as one of his first actions in office
Merwitzer took issue with the fact that the village was paying Lopez up to $45,000 a month in taxpayer funds while no public vote was taken to hire him
Merwitzer supported the neighboring residents who wanted to buy the property themselves
this is one of those issues where it's about government versus the people and about how we bypassed every single proper procedure and process meant to protect our own residents,” he told WLRN
Palmetto Bay paid Lopez about $200,000 for a combination of legal and lobbying activities
Village Attorney John Dellagloria said Lopez performed only a “modicum” of legal services
and the majority of his work for the village involved lobbying
council member Cody began an effort to discredit the vice mayor by questioning whether he’s really a council member at all thanks to a wrinkle with his swearing-in
Merwitzer was sworn into office by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins
Merwitzer’s oath of office did not meet the statutory requirements to be legitimate
Merwitzer later retook the oath in front of the Palmetto Bay Clerk and then signed the oath on a separate day
Because of that gap between recitation and signing
Cody argues Merwitzer’s swearing-in did not count and he is not an actual member of the town council
“We had our meeting in January and I objected to the minutes because it reflected that he was the vice mayor at our December meeting and he hadn't been properly sworn in
So we got in a bit of a tussle,” Cody told WLRN
Cody contends the issue comes down to legal liability if someone sues the village over Merwitzer’s votes
“If we pass the budget three to two and he is on the winning side
then we didn't pass a budget because nothing passes on a two to two tie
That can impose great liability upon everybody on the council,” Cody said
The village council hired an outside law firm to investigate Cody’s claim to the tune of about $6,000
The firm concluded Merwitzer was properly sworn in
also insists that Merwitzer’s swearing in was legitimate
stopped Cody from maintaining his argument online and in the courts
He has sent email blasts to village residents and made Facebook posts about Merwitzer that include cartoon depictions of the vice mayor that Cody creates himself
“If only we had a Vice Mayor … But, since Mark Merwitzer, who won the election in November as Vice Mayor, refuses to take the oath of office legally, we don't. (He's as stubborn as he is young and inexperienced.) Or maybe, his mommy wouldn't give him a ride to any of these events!” Cody wrote on Facebook on March 23
Cody has been sending his draft email blasts and legal strategies to the very same lobbyist whose contract Merwitzer rescinded: Jorge Luis Lopez
Public records from the Village of Palmetto Bay show emails and texts going back and forth between Cody and Lopez after Lopez’s contract was rescinded in December
Cody texted Lopez a video he created with a cartoon image of Merwitzer
Lopez replied to the February 21 text that he was reviewing the video
Cody emailed Lopez about a possible legal action
“It looks like an action under Chapter 86 is the only avenue,” Cody wrote
Two months later, on April 10th, Cody sued Merwitzer and the Village of Palmetto Bay under Florida Statutes Chapter 86 — which asks a judge to define the legal relationship between two parties in a declaratory judgment
“That costs the taxpayer money and now we're paying two separate attorneys at once to address something that has already been addressed multiple times,” Merwitzer told WLRN
Cody would not answer questions about his texts and emails with Lopez about Tanglewood or Merwitzer
He said Lopez is handling a legal matter for him
but would not explain the nature of that work
Lopez's law firm donated $1,000 to Cody's 2024 village council campaign
though Cody said he refunded the money to fall in line with the village's rules against council members doing business with vendors who have made political contributions to them
Lopez did not respond to requests for comment from WLRN via phone call
Cody’s lawsuit against the village is pending in Miami-Dade County Court
after passing a resolution sponsored by Cody
is re-upping its application to buy the Tanglewood property from Miami-Dade County

featureWho the Heck is Cody Lohden? The Former Firefighter and Paramedic Bringing Classic Country Back to NashvilleBy Maxim Mower
As the rollout for ERNEST's DeVille Records mixtape
what's becoming increasingly apparent is how each member of the label shares a common goal: to bring old-school
traditional-leaning country back to Music City
But what's equally as striking about the Deville crew is how
despite there being this sepia-tinged through-line
every artist on ERN's label has honed their own
The second artist to be introduced from country music's answer to Cactus Jack's JACKBOYS collective
showcases this on his debut single with DeVille Records
It feels like the most contemporary country-adjacent offering we've heard so far, compared to Rhys Rutherford's steel-soaked ballad, ‘Southern Belle’, and Chandler Walters’ Western Swing toe-tapper
Lohden still tips his cap to his forefathers with the cascading
while his captivating Kentucky drawl gives ‘Tail Light
The uptempo melody and wordplay-packed lyricism feels grounded in modern country
while the sonics transport you to past decades
epitomising The Cadillac Sessions’ modus operandi - to craft classic country that makes sense in today's landscape
Cody Lohden touches on the fascinating way in which he was introduced to the stage
with his father entering him in a singing competition
“Before the competition I didn’t sing in front of anyone
“It was a confidence boost and validation of my ability
I started playing shows all over Kentucky with my dad
Before diving headfirst into country music
Cody Lohden opted for a somewhat atypical career path
“I was a firefighter and paramedic while living in Kentucky
I had the urge to try music full time and so I followed that – and here I am”
Don Williams and Bob Sege as key influences in his burgeoning career
Cody Lohden started releasing music independently and sharing covers via TikTok
with the ‘Flower Shops’ chart-topper signing him to his Cadillac Music publishing house
before bringing him onto the DeVille Records team
Know your place in the room - everyone writes different”
Lohden worked with a couple of fellow respected Music City songsmiths to bring the track to life
and ensure it accurately represented his Kentucky-Nashville blend
“I guess my accent brings the Kentucky twang
The song came about during a write with Dallas Wilson and Matt Mulhare
Ever since ERNEST unveiled DeVille Records
the label has been pervaded by a sense of brotherhood
Rutherford and Walters all paying homage to one another in the lead-up to The Cadillac Sessions’ release on May 7th
Lohden toasts Rutherford's ‘Southern Belle’ as his favourite track that he didn't work on from the project
Fans are looking forward to hearing Cody Lohden's other solo contributions to the forthcoming mixtape
‘TV On’ and his cover of Shenandoah's iconic 1989 hit
we can rest assured there will be plenty more on the horizon for Lohden's blossoming fanbase
“I’m going in the studio to cut a solo record in May and continuing to play shows”
we reckon there's good reason to feel very excited at the prospect of more music from Lohden soon

Cody Rhodes has been absent from WWE television since WrestleMania 41
Last month, John Cena defeated Rhodes to win his 17th World Championship at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. While Cena has been actively present on television and engaged in a feud against Randy Orton
The American Nightmare has been absent from live appearances
As speculations continue about Rhodes’ return, a recent update has emerged on it. With Cena and Orton set to clash against each other on May 10th at the Backlash PLE, Cody Rhodes has been advertised to appear on the May 16 episode of SmackDown
which is set to take place at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro
Rhodes has been advertised as one of the featured stars for the show alongside Orton, Tiffany Stratton, LA Knight
Although an advertisement does not guarantee an appearance
Criticising the end of the main-event match on his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy said,
especially the match they had between one another
You had Cody kick out of multiple [Attitude Adjustments]
I still thought he had a real solid match for a main event when it was all said and done
The biggest critique I have was that finish and protecting Cody and the way it was done
I felt like The Rock being there would have made sense
it would have kind of tied everything together that was part of the story.”

Las Vegas added Cody Lindenberg and Jack Bech to the roster through the draft and both could have an impact Year 1
The Las Vegas Raiders' latest draft has received rave reviews from the national media
John Spytek and Pete Carroll found value picks in every round
Spytek and the scouting department were heavy on the offensive side early, adding 4 players on offense with the first five picks. One of those players was TCU wide receiver Jack Bech. Bech had his first 1000-yard season as a senior after playing tight at LSU his first two years of eligibility. His success at the Senior Bowl put him on the radar of NFL scouts
It was mainly in the front seven on defense
with three of the four defensive selections in that area
One of those players was seventh-round pick Cody Lindenberg from Minnesota
With his consistent play and instincts at the linebacker position
the linebacker could be a steal for the Raiders

CLEVELAND — The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is honoring Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with new signs.
Sixteen bus stops along Payne Avenue between E. 30th Street and E. 55th Street are decorated with artwork representing AAPI heritage. The artwork includes eight different designs using unique patterns, colors and animals.
The reason the Greater Cleveland RTA picked Payne Avenue is because it said the area has the largest concentration of AAPI residents in Cleveland, and it's commonly known as Cleveland's AsiaTown neighborhood.
“GCRTA honors and uplifts the vibrant culture and contributions of our Asian American & Pacific Islander community in the greater Cleveland area,” said Deputy General Manager Administration & External Affairs Natoya Walker Minor. in a release. “As a public agency, we know and believe public transit benefits everyone.”
Here's the list of bus stops where the public can see the special signs along the No. 9 Mayfield-Hough route:

which are essential for young players to learn the system
and I think his reaction speed is a huge strength
A wing-type player who won’t play iso ball
but on transitions will absolutely go coast-to-coast if required
Can catch defenders sleeping when getting put backs and offensive rebounds
A conservative defender who doesn’t take risks when getting posted on
Really makes the shooter think twice because he can get so high relatively quickly
Can shoot it but really relies on getting it inside
he does spin-cycle a lot to get out of trouble and will go for a layup or mid-range
He played in the U20’s National Championships here in Australia

Jinks is one of the most popular men in country music when it comes to the outlaw segment of the genre

On the day his club lifted the Premier League trophy
Cody Gakpo revealed a shirt reading “I belong to Jesus.” For professional footballer John Bostock
it was a powerful reminder: your faith is to be shared — whatever your platform
Source: Sports Press Photo/Reuters Connect
When Cody Gakpo lifted his shirt to reveal the words “I belong to Jesus”
it stirred something powerful — and not just in the stadium for Liverpool fans. For those who follow Christ
A reminder that even on the biggest stages
Jesus is still worthy of our public allegiance
expressions of Christian faith often come under scrutiny
We live in a world that champions authenticity — until that authenticity points to Jesus
Cody’s simple message has sparked media attention
But this is exactly why his action matters
There’s a growing pressure on Christian athletes to keep their faith away from the pitch
to tuck it away in private prayer or generic Bible verse references on their socials but not to make a “scene.” And yet
I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven” (Matthew 10:32)
When someone like Gakpo — at the highest level of football — boldly says
“I belong to Jesus,” it speaks louder than any sermon
What if the shirt said something else? Let’s be honest: if that shirt had read “I belong to myself” or promoted a brand or cause the world deems acceptable
That’s the tension we live in — one where faith in Christ still provokes discomfort
Countless Christian athletes have faced it
But every time someone chooses to stand for Jesus
they’re drawing a line in the sand: I won’t bow to culture — I bow to Christ
I know the pressure that comes with the game — performance expectations
and the constant evaluation of who you are on and off the pitch
and souls are watching — especially the next generation
That’s why moments like Gakpo’s matter so much
They show young Christians that it’s not only okay to be vocal about your faith — it’s necessary
We need role models who aren’t just great at football but are grounded in Jesus
Players who don’t just cross themselves after scoring but are truly living surrendered lives
We don’t all have to wear undershirts with messages
but we’re all called to make our faith visible
the goal is the same: to reflect Jesus clearly
this year is “Living Ready,” based on Matthew 24:44: “So you also must be ready
because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” That means ready to meet Jesus
yes — but also ready to represent him at any moment
Even if it’s the last game of the season. Even if it costs you endorsement deals. Even if the world doesn’t clap. Because at the end of the day
we’re not just footballers — we’re ambassadors of a greater Kingdom. Be encouraged
To every believer reading this — on the pitch
or far from the game — let Gakpo’s act of courage stir something in you
Let it remind you that faith was never meant to be convenient
Jesus didn’t die in secret — so why should we live that way
and professional: use your platform for Jesus
Don’t let fear rob the world of your witness. Because someone is always watching
And that someone might just meet Jesus because you weren’t afraid to say

Cody Rhodes' absence from WWE programming since his Undisputed WWE Championship loss to John Cena at WrestleMania 41 has left the WWE Universe eagerly awaiting his next move
After finishing his historic title reign in Las Vegas last month
offering no messages or responses regarding his defeat or his future plans
who typically shares his upcoming appearance schedule with fans at the start of each month
While initial reports suggested he was advertised for the SmackDown episode following WrestleMania week (April 25th)
he ultimately did not appear on that broadcast
fueling speculation about a potential extended hiatus
WWE's own promotional activities may have now revealed the target date for the American Nightmare's return
After noticeably removing Rhodes from advertisements for the May 2nd and May 9th episodes of SmackDown
the company is now prominently featuring him on promotional materials for the May 16th edition of Friday Night SmackDown
WWE.com confirms he remains advertised for this date and subsequent SmackDown shows moving forward
This specific advertising pattern – removing him from the immediate upcoming shows but actively promoting him for the May 16th date – strongly suggests that the post-Backlash episode is earmarked for his comeback
More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation
not only because of his status as a top star but also due to the controversial circumstances of his WrestleMania loss
which involved interference from Travis Scott aligning with the now-heel John Cena
leaving fans wondering how Rhodes will react to being "screwed over."
anticipation is sky-high for what Rhodes will say and do upon his return
Many fans predict his immediate focus will be on reclaiming the Undisputed WWE Championship he lost to Cena
While the May 16th SmackDown appears to be the planned return date based on current advertising
fans are already thinking he will regain the title at SummerSlam in August
This would allow Cena to have a lengthy title reign as WWE Champion while also working with other stars
It would also give Rhodes some time off to spend with his family

Let's be honest: there's a reason why Ohio State has so much prestige when it comes to football
While the Buckeyes did place four players in the first round of the draft
perhaps some of the most interesting names went a bit later
The Arizona Cardinals selected Simon in Round 4
and given the Cardinals' dire need for defensive help
Simon could make an impact right off the bat
Brandon Austin of Pro Football Network seems to think that is exactly what the 23-year-old will do
In a piece where Austin names one sleeper rookie from every NFL team that could exceed expectations in 2025
Simon enjoyed a spectacular senior campaign at Ohio State
He was particularly brilliant during the Buckeyes' College Football Playoff run
where he logged a pair of double-digit sack performances and was involved in a plethora of big defensive stops
native could very well be one of the most overlooked players in this year's draft class and may potentially develop into a star on the professional level

Liverpool’s men’s team entered the 2024-25 season with plenty of question marks. Legendary manager Jurgen Klopp was gone
The team was coming off a third-place finish and signed just one player in the summer transfer window
Three crucial players — Trent Alexander-Arnold
Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk — were impending free agents
The English Premier League title race was framed as a battle between last season’s top two finishers: Arsenal and Manchester City
>> Subscribe to Sports Spectrum Magazine for more stories where sports and faith connect <<
But Liverpool won their first three games by a combined score of 7-0 and never slowed down
They lost just once in their first 30 league games and built a double-digit lead at the top of the table
it was a question of when — not if — they would be crowned champions of England
Needing just a draw at home against Tottenham on Sunday
Liverpool turned the match into a full-fledged celebration as they scored five unanswered goals to win 5-1 and secure the title with four games to spare
tying them with Manchester United for the most all time
“It’s amazing,” striker Cody Gakpo said after the game
[We have had] special moments … to get this is amazing.”
The Dutch international, who turns 26 on May 7, contributed Liverpool’s third goal Sunday
he took off his jersey to reveal a shirt that read

Gakpo also took to social media to celebrate his first Premier League title and give glory to God
“Childhood dream fulfilled — Premier League champions 24/25,” he wrote on Instagram
“So proud of everyone on the team and everything we’ve achieved
your love and support made it even more special — can’t thank y’all enough
A post shared by Cody Gakpo ✝️ (@codymathesgakpo)
In his second full season at the club, Gakpo’s 17 goals and 22 goal involvements across all competitions rank second on the team
He surpassed his Premier League goal total from last season on Sunday despite playing 22 fewer minutes
Gakpo rose through the ranks at Dutch power PSV and attracted interest from two Premier League clubs — Leeds United and Southampton — in the Summer 2022 transfer window following a 12-goal, 12-assist season. He made his decision by surrendering it to the Lord
PSV played Volendam on the day the transfer window closed
He would stay at PSV if he got a hat trick
He found the back of the net again early in the second half
so it was unclear if he’d be given credit for the goal
But that last goal was ultimately awarded to him
He moved to Liverpool in the next transfer window after scoring in all three group-stage games at the 2022 World Cup
“I could feel God’s presence as well because it was just in His hands, and it happened so quick,” he told ESPN in 2024 about leaving PSV
and I was not really stressed about those things
So that was for me also a sign like it’s a God move.”
Whether it is leading Bible studies, incorporating it into celebrations, or posts on social media
Gakpo boldly lives out his faith and publicly discusses what it means to him
A post shared by Cody Gakpo ✝️ (@codymathesgakpo)
“Faith gives me peace,” he told Premier Christianity in 2023
I often read the Bible before I go to sleep
It is a kind of love letter that tells us how we should treat each other.”
Having been eliminated from the three cup competitions (Carabao Cup
FA Cup and Champions League) they were also competing in
Liverpool will take the field four more times before their season ends
They will finish by hosting Crystal Palace on May 25

The Arizona Cardinals put together an elite draft class
Some of the Cardinals' picks have fans questioning who will win a starting job in 2025
Even Arizona's recent free agent signings aren't safe
The Cardinals signed off-ball linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither to a two-year contract worth $10 million during free agency
Davis-Gaither played five seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals, totaling over 200 tackles
Davis-Gaither has carved out a successful career in the NFL so far
When he signed with the Cardinals this offseason
Davis-Gaither was expected to take on a starting role alongside Mack Wilson Sr
another fourth-round linebacker may be set to supplant Davis-Gaither before he plays a snap as a Cardinal
After using their first three draft picks on defense
many fans expected the Cardinals to shift their focus to the offensive side of the ball in the fourth round
Arizona still had needs waiting to be addressed at both receiver and guard
they continued filling out their defense by drafting former Ohio State linebacker Cody Simon
Monti Ossenfort can never have enough former Ohio State Buckeyes
Cody Simon is exactly what teams crave in a middle linebacker
He was a team captain in his final season at Ohio State
He's a sure tackler with a menacing 6'2" frame
but he makes up for it with impressive instincts
In five seasons with the Buckeyes, he totaled over 250 tackles
He capped off his collegiate career in the best way possible
winning Defensive MVP in Ohio State's national championship victory over Notre Dame
Simon has a chance to immediately challenge Akeem Davis-Gaither for a starting job in the Arizona Cardinals defense
His leadership and physicality could make him an instant favorite among fans and coaches
this should be an interesting battle in training camp

Rhodes' inability to clock Cena with his title belt on the "Grandest Stage of Them All" was a disastrous case of idiotic babyface syndrome
"The American Nightmare" has been off television since the defeat
Rhodes helped put the company on his back for over a year
his absence leaves a massive void in weekly programming
So when should fans expect Rhodes back on their screen
According to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp
Rhodes' return is a bit up in the air
"Cody Rhodes is no longer listed as a "featured superstar" for tonight or next week's WWE SmackDown," Sapp reported to X
"He's listed for May 16 as the earliest."
That would put Rhodes in line to appear at the first SmackDown after Backlash
Many fans in Sapp's comment section were theorizing the PLE could be where Rhodes makes his comeback
If Rhodes simply gets his strap back at the end of the year
it will be compelling to see what the 39-year-old does in the interim
He has a ready-made rivalry with Randy Orton that has yet to come to fruition
Rhodes is an elite performer who can make the most out of his situation
It'll be fun to see what the next chapter of his story might entail

(KCTV) - The state of Missouri plans to honor local law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty
Ceremonies for the annual Missouri State Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Service are set for Friday and Saturday
Among those who will be memorialized is fallen Officer Cody Allen
The Independence police officer was killed in February of 2024
Allen was responding to the shooting of Jackson County Civil Process Server Drexel Mack -- who had been serving an eviction notice
“When most people are running away from danger
officers are running towards danger to protect the people in the community,” Public Information Officer Bryan Conley said
“It’s important we don’t forget the sacrifices Officer Allen made that day.”
Conley also believes the nation has unfortunately seen several tragedies like the one involving Allen
“None of us like the fact that violence towards police officers has ramped up over the past few years
and we still serve our community with integrity and pride.”
Ceremonies will be held on North Capitol Drive on the north side of the State Capitol

encouraging us all to carry forth his message of love and humility
