"I’ve made many costumes but this is one of my favorites
from the g string to the peacock feather fans," Colby captioned the head-turning update
"I harvested each feather by hand (from the ground
molted feathers) to ensure that these fans are ethically sourced," she continued
"I was honestly a little bit worried about the bra
I thought it was gonna be too small but it ended up working out nicely."
the history fanatic—who performs burlesque under the stage name Dannie Diesel—flaunted her curves in a bedazzled bra with matching G-string underwear while posing with her hands behind her head
She completed the look with the aforementioned peacock feather fan and strappy shoes
Folks flooded Colby's comments with words of praise and appreciation for the stunning full-body shot of her spicy look
"This is the oneeee ❤️."
"Looking good Dannie🩷🤍."
"Wow Dannie🔥," as someone else called the elaborate costume "magnificent."

That one offensive lineman was Iowa's Connor Colby
The 49ers drafted Colby in the seventh round at No
249 overall with their second-to-last pick
The 49ers wanted to draft an offensive lineman earlier
but the ones they had their eyes kept getting taken
You would think the 49ers would want to trade up for one if they're that selective
Colby is the lone offensive lineman taken by the 49ers in the 2025 NFL draft
why did they like Colby to take him with one of their final picks
"We were happy to add Colby," said General Manager John Lynch
"We think he's a really good scheme fit
Great thing about Iowa is they run a very similar
so you get to see a guy like him do things that we do and he does them well
the selection of Colby seems more of "just because" from the 49ers
it doesn't matter who or what position the 49ers target
The odds of a player becoming a starter or even a role player from that round are unlikely
Now, you can point to Brock Purdy and Jauan Jennings as successful seventh-round draft picks, but that's it. They are more outliers (especially Purdy) than anything.
The 49ers didn't take a single offensive lineman in the draft until Colby. So, why not take him? Bring him into training camp and see what he's got.
But he's not going to be anything more than a practice squad player. If he does become more than he will have beaten his value as a seventh-round pick, the best-case scenario for the 49ers.

MAGA figures have criticized Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell after he voted against the confirmation of Elbridge Colby, President Donald Trump's pick to serve as undersecretary of defense for policy
Vice President JD Vance was among those who condemned the former Senate GOP leader for being the only Republican to oppose Colby's nomination
calling the move "political pettiness." Nate Morris
a Kentucky businessman and major Trump donor
added McConnell's opposition was "pathetic."
Newsweek has contacted McConnell's office for comment via email
Colby, a former deputy assistant secretary of defense for strategy and force development in the first Trump administration, was confirmed to the No. 3 post in the Pentagon in a 54-45 Senate vote Tuesday
Three Democrats—Rhode Island's Jack Reed, Arizona's Mark Kelly, and Michigan's Elissa Slotkin—voted in favor of Colby
McConnell was the only Republican to oppose the nomination
Vance criticized McConnell's stance on X, formerly Twitter
calling it another example of "political pettiness."
In response, Georgia Representative Mike Collins wrote: "Glad things are changing." McConnell, 83, the longest serving party leader in Senate history, will not seek reelection and will leave office in 2027 after more than 40 years in the Senate
In a statement after the vote, McConnell criticized Colby's past comments suggesting the United States should shift its national security focus away from Europe and the Middle East toward China and the Indo-Pacific
calling such a move "geostrategic self harm."
McConnell, who chairs the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, which oversees much of the Pentagon's budget, has repeatedly warned against abandoning Ukraine amid Russia's invasion and has opposed what he views as a trend toward U.S. isolationism.
Colby has also faced criticism from hawkish lawmakers for suggesting the U.S
could contain a nuclear-armed Iran rather than pursue military intervention
During his confirmation hearing in March, Colby said Iran having nuclear weapons would pose an "existential" threat to the U.S
and pledged to provide "credible" recommendations to prevent that outcome
Vice President JD Vance posted on X: "Mitch's vote today—like so much of the last few years of his career—is one of the great acts of political pettiness I've ever seen."
Businessman Nate Morris wrote: "Elbridge Colby is one of the brightest foreign policy minds in the GOP
and it's pathetic watching Mitch McConnell continue to stand with Dems to sabotage President Donald Trump
This is why whoever replaces Mitch in the Senate needs to represent a clean break from him—time for a change!"
MAGA political commentator Charlie Kirk wrote: "Congratulations to Elbridge Colby on his confirmation as President Donald Trump's undersecretary for policy at the Pentagon
Senator Mitch McConnell said in a statement: "Elbridge Colby's long public record suggests a willingness to discount the complexity of the challenges facing America
the critical value of our allies and partners
and the urgent need to invest in hard power to preserve American primacy
a return to an Obama-era conception of à la carte geostrategy
Abandoning Ukraine and Europe and downplaying the Middle East to prioritize the Indo-Pacific is not a clever geopolitical chess move
It is geostrategic self harm that emboldens our adversaries and drives wedges between America and our allies for them to exploit
Colby will need to advance policies aligned with the president's recognition of U.S
I hope he will come to appreciate the essential role our allies play in advancing our collective interests
the urgent need for enduring investments in our national defense
and the linked and simultaneous challenges we face
Make no mistake: America will not be made great again by those who are content to manage our decline."
Colby will soon be sworn in as undersecretary of defense for policy

Shelton was taken out of the second game in the Arkansas series last weekend and missed the finale on Sunday
This could potentially be season-ending one for Shelton depending on Florida's postseason chances
The Gators currently don’t have the necessary wins needed to be comfortable for a guaranteed spot in the postseason at this point in the season
This is a big blow for the Gators and will make it that much more difficult over these final weeks of the campaign
Florida’s everyday shortstop now joins second baseman Cade Kurland
center fielder Kyle Jones and left-handed pitcher Frank Menendez as major contributors on the Gators’ injury list
There were other newcomers on Florida’s availability report
were added for this weekend's SEC series and will not be available
head coach Kevin O’Sullivan did receive some good news
who has not pitched in a game in two months
was removed from the Gators' initial availability report
That’s major news for the Gators who are in need of more pitching
moving forward given his previous injury record
O’Sullivan will most definitely be cautious in his approach with Coppola’s return and will not rush him back in any way
Additionally, according to Baseball America’s Jacob Rudner on X
any appearance this weekend will be a brief one for Coppola
Florida begins their three-game series at South Carolina on Friday at 7 p.m

Maine - The Colby Men's Lacrosse season ended tonight
wrapping up another tough season in the NESCAC conference
taking their record to 3-10 overall and 0-10 in NESCAC conference play–their first time going winless since 2016
In what has become an unfortunate trend, Colby had a tough third quarter as Bates slowly pulled away. An early goal from Goller pulled the Mules within two but a 4-0 run from the Bobcats put the game almost fully out of reach. Gavin Rothenberg and DeVita scored late in the third quarter after the Mules put 10 shots on the Bates goal
Colby had a high-scoring fourth quarter as Sokolosky and Bello each buried two goals
but the Mules couldn't muster enough to complete the 6-goal comeback
but they should immediately look to next year and aim to outperform a tough 2025

Connor Colby is a four-year starter primarily at right guard, including 13 starts in 2024 inside Iowa's run-heavy (66-34 run-pass split) zone-based scheme with gap principles (counter) mixed in. Colby has a tall, lean and well-rounded build with good athletic ability and adequate play strength.
athletic ability and good feel on zone concepts to cover up his target on combination blocks
He closes space quickly on the move on climbs
screens and pulls to intersect targets with quick
active feet to widen out his targets and create lanes off of his backside

his upright playing style will sap his power on angle-drive and base blocks to halt movement and clog rush lanes while leaving him overextended against movement across his face
Colby is largely shielded from being exposed on an island due to operating in such a run-heavy scheme
He has good initial quickness out of his stance on jump sets and has flashes of striking tight and inside of the bull rush to brace and anchor quickly
he has a shaky anchor to his upright style
erratic strike timing and a bad habit of opening early when threatened with speed
creates two-way gos for rushers and leaves him vulnerable to losing clean across his face
Colby brings plenty of experience with good athletic ability
competitive toughness and run-blocking skills to compete for a backup role at guard in a zone-based run scheme
he'll need time to iron out his shaky
unrefined pass protection ability and sustain skills before he's ready to enter an NFL lineup
lean and well-rounded build with good athletic ability
— Proficient zone run-blocker with good quickness to cover up his target on combination blocks
— Excels on the move using his size and quickness to line up targets
run his feet and stay attached to create rush lanes
tight hands to anchor quickly and set a firm pocket
— Upright playing style with shaky contact balance leaves him overextended vs
— Erratic strike timing exacerbates middling arm length
giving up first meaningful contact to expose his chest and delay his anchor
— Will open early and cross over against widely aligned rushers
which creates two-way gos and clean losses across his face
— 50 career starts at right guard (42) and right tackle (six)

Colby Shaw of Newport has broken a 15-year state record with his recent catch of a vermilion snapper
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Marine Fisheries announced the new state record Thursday
The previous state record for the highly prized species was 6 pounds
The division said Shaw was fishing in his own vessel when the fish struck his cut bait
“Shaw made quick work of reeling in his state record fish
landing it using his Shimano rod and reel with 65-pound braid,” according to the announcement
Shaw’s fish measured 23.5-inches fork length
which is from the tip of the nose to the fork in the tail
Fisheries staff weighed in the fish at the division’s headquarters office in Morehead City
waters “is a smart seafood choice because it is sustainably managed and responsibly harvested under U.S
regulations,” according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Vermilion snappers’ range extends from Cape Hatteras to southeastern Brazil and includes the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, according to the National Marine Fisheries Service. Recreational anglers landed 3.4 million pounds of vermilion snapper in 2023, the most recent figures in NOAA Fisheries’ recreational fishing landings database

In Round 7 with pick No. 249, the 49ers pick Iowa guard Connor Colby. Colby is a good fit for the 49ers' offensive system because Iowa uses a zone-blocking scheme. He's also a good athlete who's fast and agile for a man his size.
Unfortunately, he also has extremely short arms for a man his size -- 32 inches to be exact. That means he might not make it as a guard in the NFL. For him to succeed, he might have to move to center, and that's a move that could take years. Fortunately for Colby, the 49ers are extremely patient when they develop young centers. They've been developing Nick Zakelj since 2022.
After the draft, general manager John Lynch was asked if he tried to draft an offensive lineman early or if he knew he'd have to wait to address the position. Lynch said that he certainly would have liked to take an offensive lineman earlier but that the draft board simply didn't fall in a way that allowed the 49ers to take one and they didn't want to force a pick, so they took other positions.
This is a poor excuse. Teams are allowed to trade up and down in drafts, and the 49ers did neither. They stood pat every time. That's passive, not aggressive.
Next year, the 49ers will have to draft multiple starting offensive linemen who can play right away.
