However, this time, the presence of Queen Letizia added a special component to the event although her main role was that of a mother accompanying her daughter The Royal Household has distributed photographs of this reception and it is in them that everyone has noticed the same thing Despite what seemed like a normal reception a photo showing the great complicity and happiness of mother and daughter has captured attention mother and daughter were practically inseparable and didn't stop smiling at each other a detail that already suggests the joy of being able to share time together The Reception for Queen Letizia on the Juan Sebastián Elcano | Casa RealHowever the detail that has moved everyone is a particular photograph taken during the reception It is a snapshot where they appear in the middle of all the attendees but their connection is so strong that they manage to abstract themselves from everything else their gazes crossing with an intensity that transcends the formal setting of the event This gesture speaks of the deep connection that exists between them of the joy of being able to share that moment together after so much time apart It is an intimate moment captured in a public context despite their institutional roles and the distance The Complicity Between Letizia and Leonor During Their Meeting in Panama | Casa RealThe evening on the deck of the training ship allowed the queen and the princess to share time together in a special setting attended the interventions of the authorities and chatted informally with the rest of the crew and guests The fact that this meeting aboard the Elcano coincides with such a special day adds an extra emotional component to the situation It is a gift for both to be able to spend this day together even if it is within the framework of Princess Leonor's military training In short, the reunion between Queen Letizia and Princess Leonor has left an unforgettable image Mother and daughter have starred in a scene that reflects not only the affection they have for each other but also the support at a key moment for the future queen Who said that protocol and tenderness couldn't coexist aboard a historic ship known as “The Soul Queen of New Orleans,” and the veteran Big Easy band Galactic goes so smoothly that it’s hard to believe they haven’t been collaborating for decades she recorded one song with the group in 2010 but this is their first full-length joint venture because the irresistible Audience With the Queen is a funky and thought-provoking delight Thomas boasts a resume stretching back to the late ’50s including such landmark recordings as “It’s Raining” and “Ruler of My Heart” (which Otis Redding appropriated for his single “Pain in My Heart”) And “Time Is on My Side,” covered by The Rolling Stones resulted in the classic rock band’s first US top 10 hit in 1964 Thomas’ voice is inevitably a tad rougher and deeper than in her youth she remains recognizably and resolutely herself — an anti-diva of rare poise and restraint who never oversells a song Audience With the Queen brims with love (and out-of-love) songs “How Glad I Am” is a sweet cover of Nancy Wilson’s 1964 hit with a strong gospel vibe while the thumping “Over You” tries to close the book on a bad romance “I got too much to do to be sittin’ here crying over you.” The stomping “Lady Liberty” unleashes a declaration of outrage as she exclaims “Injustice was and is the fuel that feeds the flame…There’s got to be a better way than this.” Thomas promotes positive thinking as the antidote to a world on fire In the exuberant “Where I Belong,” she proclaims “I’m gonna make the best of the time I still have.” And in the slinky groove of “Peace in My Heart,” she advises “You better just enjoy the ride.” Although Galactic’s ace players including keyboardist Rich Vogel and sax man Ben Ellman they focus on building a solid foundation for Thomas here providing tantalizing fills when the situation requires It can seem as if great artists pass away almost daily Audience With the Queen gives people the change to publicly appreciate some of these gifted performers when they’re still around to enjoy the acclaim Here’s hoping the Queen and her court book a return engagement soon Galactic and Irma Thomas’ Audience With the Queen is out April 11 By Archive on May 1 FRESH TRACK: Steve Bardwil Band – “Send ‘Em time Ten Tenths hosted a historic TransAm exhibition and a concours as part of its Heritage Invitational One of the driving forces behind the new track is a veteran in the space The Smith family has been in the race track business since Marcus’ father Bruton partnered with Curtis Turner in 1959 to build Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord Speedway Motorsports now owns more tracks than you can count on two hands from New Hampshire Motor Speedway to Sonoma Raceway in California The elder Smith developed a massive portfolio and Marcus is adding to the family legacy with Ten Tenths just across the street from Charlotte Motor Speedway The key word is “adding:” In just the past five years Marcus Smith and his team brought dirt racing back to NASCAR and revived historic North Wilkesboro Speedway his team will host a Major League Baseball game in the infield of Bristol Motor Speedway which is sure to set MLB attendance records Wheels started turning when Marcus visited The Thermal Club in southern California and thought he could bring something similar to the Charlotte area These race track country clubs are not a new idea but they seem to have taken off in popularity over the past decade—Monticello in New York Atlanta Motorsports Park in Georgia are just a few that have found success Smith broke ground on the property alongside Charlotte Motor Speedway President Greg Walter The turnaround was impressive—a tour of the property and a lap around the track make it tough to imagine how it was all assembled so quickly “and [we] live by the mantra ‘Exceed Expectations.’” Part of this project’s team included F1 veteran and two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Alexander Wurz with input from other current drivers such as Shane Van Gisbergen transformed a rolling plot of land that was once used for NASCAR weekend camping and parking into a 1.7-mile 19-corner road course with multiple layouts The true test of the course came on Friday when the track was overrun with more than a dozen vintage TransAm machines orchestrated by NASCAR crew chief Ray Evernham and ’Cudas are a bear to wrestle around any circuit who piloted a rare Pontiac Trans Am Firebird it’s definitely a challenge to keep the front tires from burning off it.” Kauffman was also part of the Pro-Am event held later that evening Ten pro drivers were paired with ten “amateurs” in electric Porsche Macan Turbos to see who could notch the best lap time on track Jeff Gordon and his teammate took top honors the facility was bustling with enthusiasts of all ages at the Heritage Invitational Concours Over 70 cars totaling more than $500M were parked on the track and pit lane for public viewing and professional judging Rick Hendrick joined the party in style when he landed in a helicopter on a portion of the track and promptly delivered a champagne toast to the new facility and the team responsible for it Bruce Meyer earned the Chairman’s Choice Sport award with his 1979 Kremer Porsche 935 K3 and Frederick Fischer won the d’Elegance portion with his Ferrari 250 GT Tour De France With trophies presented and the first weekend in the books “The first thing that we do after this event is enjoy a track day with friends,” says Smith Beyond a personal playground for club members Ten Tenths will also welcome OEMs to host customers Concord is likely a familiar spot if you have an interest in motorsports This town just outside Charlotte is home to Hendrick Motorsports’ campus and will soon be the site of Cadillac’s multi-million dollar F1 facility There’s a General Motors tech center down the street and most of its teams are based in the area so it makes plenty of sense to add another race track to the Queen City And if there’s any indication that these private motoring clubs are here to stay it’s the fact that major power player Speedway Motorsports just joined the fray These high-end facilities may look and feel a little different than traditional racing facilities but their purpose is the same: to serve the need for speed As other tracks across America face an uncertain future any type of new raceway should be celebrated Some very nice pics here that capture the feel of the event rather just concentrating entirely on the cars A more photojournalist style rather than the usual stock footage look As though you’re part of the event vicariously Reminds me of some parts of ‘ Grand Prix ‘ where the cars are almost secondary in the background while still when viewed as a whole important I was all for it until I heard they used land that was previously used for fan camping and parking Nothing like making an exclusive club for rich folk in a place where common folks used to be able to gather to celebrate the sport that is based in the town… and website in The King and Queen of the Belgians are pictured here arriving for the service. Queen Mathilde wore her classic diamond drop earrings with a pearl and diamond choker necklace. In 2022, she wore the same necklace for the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in London Here, the King and Queen of Spain arrive for the funeral service. With her black dress and veil, Queen Letizia wore one of the most important pearl and diamond brooches at her disposal. Part of the joyas de pasar collection, the gray pearl brooch belonged to King Felipe’s great-grandmother the British-born Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain Letizia appears to have simplified the setting of the brooch removing the diamond accents from the pearl drop The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg were also in attendance. With her black dress, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa chose to wear a pair of elegant pearl drop earrings from the family collection And here are the Prince and Princess of Monaco arriving for the service. Princess Charlene wore a pair of stud earrings (pearls, I think) and her diamond engagement ring Also in attendance were the Hereditary Prince and Hereditary Princess of Liechtenstein who you’ll spot in the second row in this photograph Princess Sophie also chose to wear a black ensemble with pearls for the service There were several non-Catholic royal heads of state paying their respects at the funeral as well The King and Queen of Sweden are pictured here arriving for the service wore a long black dress with cape detailing on the sleeves and a modern brooch from her personal collection Sitting here behind the President of Italy are the King and Queen of Jordan (and behind them Queen Rania also wore an all-black ensemble with little to no jewelry and dark glasses and some photos make it look like it might be a different brooch.) Others have given me a less flattering moniker: the ‘Prophet of Doom’. Whatever you want to call me, it is true that, in recent years, I have forecast some of the world’s most extraordinary events – from the Covid-19 pandemic and the death of Queen Elizabeth to Labour’s election victory and the attempted assassination of US President Donald Trump. And I feel compelled to share further visions I have received for our future, for it seems that the recent turbulence we have experienced on the global stage is far from over. Craig Hamilton-Parker, 71, has been called the 'new Nostradamus' after a series of uncanny prophecies I sense strongly that, in the next 100 days, our Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer will be deposed and replaced by one of his closest allies: current Home Secretary Yvette Cooper. There will be trouble, too, for the Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch. While I admire her greatly, I sense that her strength of character will not be enough to unify her floundering party with once-leading figures – even including Jacob Rees-Mogg – set to defect to Reform. These are far from the only dramatic events that have presented themselves to me. I believe that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be stripped of their HRH titles and, within less than two years, they will separate. Meanwhile, closer to Buckingham Palace, I believe that further scandal will engulf the beleaguered Prince Andrew, for whom the recent death of Virginia Giuffre will mark not the closure of a difficult chapter but the opening of another. I have had many other visions, but first it might be helpful to explain how I came about my gifts, and how they work. I was born with a sixth sense – not that I knew it as such at the time. Even as a child, I saw auras around people and could sense their energies. Growing up in post-war Britain, however, I didn’t have the language to articulate how I felt and what I saw. So I put it to the back of my mind, focusing instead on building a more orthodox career than the one via which I would make my name. I worked hard, and by my mid-20s I was running my own advertising agency in Winchester, with a roster of clients that included Esso and British Airways. I was also a single parent, raising my daughter Celeste who is now 44. Within the next 100 days, Keir Starmer will be succeeded by one of his current closest allies There will be trouble, too, for the Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, who will lose a number of top Tories to Reform Then, through a series of extraordinary coincidences, I met the renowned British spiritualist Doris Stokes in 1982, who gave me a private reading. She informed me that I would give up my business and work as a medium – a term I barely understood at the time, even though I was speaking to one. I’ll confess, even with my own suppressed gifts, I was a tad cynical. But, little did I know, she would be proved completely right – and not just about my changing career. For Doris made a number of remarkably accurate predictions about my life – including the name of my future wife, Jane, and the date we would meet, March 6. On March 6, 1987 – a date I had all but forgotten until then – Jane Willis was in the spiritualist church in which I was giving a demonstration of my then burgeoning gifts. Doris had told me my wife’s name would be Jane Wallace which, it turned out, was the surname of her grandmother. I was tasked by the aforementioned Ethel Wallace to pass on a message from beyond to her granddaughter - the start of which was, literally, a match made in Heaven. Doris had also told me that Jane was a medium, and our coming together marked a turning point for both of us. Together, we decided I would stop working in advertising and dedicate myself to becoming a medium full time. Once I fully embraced my gift, events moved quickly. It’s no exaggeration to say I was overwhelmed with what I could do, and I have been on an extraordinary journey ever since, both metaphorically and physically. One such journey was in 2010 to Chennai in southern India, where I consulted an ancient oracle: a book in which the history of every person who visits is written. Craig was told by an oracle that he would move towards predicting the future in a wider global sense I know how crazy this looks written down. All I can tell you is that it was a mind-blowing experience. Between its ancient pages was written everything from my mother’s nickname to my ex-wife’s – information to which no-one could have been privy at the time. That same oracle told me that I would move towards predicting the future in a wider global sense. It was a suggestion that blew my mind at the time, as it was far from what I believed I wanted to do. But it triggered something in me and my explorations took me into the realms of Nadi astrology, a form of prediction with roots in ancient India. One of my very first predictions was in 2015, when I declared that Russia and China would come to form an alliance in the coming years. That observation has been born out today by their deepened cooperation and strategic alignment. Over the next few years I accurately forecast everything from Brexit to the pandemic – which I foresaw as a kind of terrifying global flu – to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. How do I know? Many people have asked how I experience these predictions, and the honest answer is, it varies. Sometimes it just comes to me in a flash, or in a dream. On other occasions meditation opens a channel to a vision. It is, to use a phrase from the Bible, like looking through a glass darkly: you see glimpses of things, and I don’t always get them right. That’s because, contrary to what many people believe, the future isn’t completely ‘set’. What I see is like a view of a map, but those walking over its surface may choose different paths. Funnily enough, people tend to remember what I got right, not what I got wrong, although I must say I do get far more of the former than the latter. Recently though, while I foresaw the resignation of the Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, I failed to identify the name of his successor Mark Carney, predicting instead that opposition leader Pierre Poilievre would replace him. I do, though, feel confident about my visions for the future set out here, although I must beg forgiveness if they do not fill everyone with joy. The fact is that yet more torrid times lie ahead for us all, and certainly our politicians. As I set out above, the political map of the UK is set to be redrawn in the coming months – a redrawing that is already taking place after this week’s local elections. Within less than four months we will have a new prime minister in place as Sir Keir, newly mired in scandal, is forced to step down. There will likely be a new Conservative party leader too. I sense a split within the Tories, with many big names defecting to a surging Reform. In this, already, my predictions have proved valid. Just this week, I foresaw triumphs for Nigel Farage’s party in the unfolding local elections – with Reform yesterday making enormous gains and winning the Runcorn and Helsby by-election. In Chennai, southern India, I consulted an ancient oracle: a book in which the history of every person who visits is written There will be drama in the US too. Two days before President Trump was shot at while playing golf in Florida last September, I warned my followers on YouTube that his life was under imminent threat. I believe that will be the case again. I foresee Trump being shot at as he steps out of a car. Yet, he will survive, strengthening his allure as an almost unassailable President. There are mixed tidings, meanwhile, on the wider geopolitical front. Ukraine will continue to be a tinderbox with an imminent peace deal quickly falling to pieces and clearing the path for a new invasion through neighbouring Belarus. Further crises will also unfold in Taiwan, Iran and Pakistan. Yet, on one thing, our minds can be put at rest: the world will not see a nuclear war for many, many years. There is turmoil, too, for the Royals. I am pleased to report that King Charles will continue to reign for many years yet, even as he continues to battle ill health. Yet other controversies await. My visions tell me that the King will offer Trump a symbolic Scottish honour which, while not an official peerage, will stir global controversy and unrest among a public who feel he is undeserving. He will be outlived by his bride, Queen Camilla, who will come into dreadful conflict with his son and heir William after he takes the throne. This will take some of the focus away from King William V, as he will be known, and his admirable attempts to focus on mental health. Happily, his wife, Queen Catherine, will be a unifying figure. She will bridge the gap between the monarchy and the public through her empathetic approach and personal experiences. Their marriage will remain strong. King Charles will be outlived by Queen Camilla, who will come into dreadful conflict with William after he takes the throne, Craig believes But Catherine will bridge the gap between the monarchy and the public and their marriage will remain strong Alas this is not the case for William’s brother whose relationship will likely end within the next 18 months Harry – who will be formally stripped of his title along with his estranged wife – will make attempts to return to the UK Meanwhile Meghan will publish her own tell-all book with the word ‘mother’ in the title Not only are his days in his grace-and-favour home then by William – but he faces fresh allegations from across the Atlantic document or lawsuit emerging that reopens public debate and drags him reluctantly back into the global spotlight But Andrew is not to be underestimated: behind closed doors the late Queen’s disgraced second son is compiling a memoir should this article be brandished under my nose in a few years I will have good reason to feel vindicated While I never say for certain if my predictions will come true I imagine that fans of the BBC series Traitors may be interested in this one but I have a strong sense that Sir Stephen Fry will win the forthcoming celebrity form of the show The comments below have not been moderated By posting your comment you agree to our house rules Do you want to automatically post your MailOnline comments to your Facebook Timeline Your comment will be posted to MailOnline as usual We will automatically post your comment and a link to the news story to your Facebook timeline at the same time it is posted on MailOnline To do this we will link your MailOnline account with your Facebook account We’ll ask you to confirm this for your first post to Facebook You can choose on each post whether you would like it to be posted to Facebook.
