Shri Dharmendra Pradhan ji and the Central Government in our mission in making Delhi cleaner and greener.”
Delhi Capitals’ last two games didn’t go as planned, but it takes very little away from the amazing season we are having currently. With six wins in 10 matches, our chances of entering the playoffs remain well within our hands and the motivation to give it our all is higher than ever heading into the final four matches.
We take on Sunrisers Hyderabad next at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday. Earlier in the season, we emerged victorious against them with some terrific individual performances, led by Mitchell Starc’s five-fer.
It has been a season marked by several highs and a few challenges. After a strong start with four consecutive wins, the recent matches have presented some hurdles, yet, we continue to see standout individual performances in critical moments.
Tristan Stubbs produced a terrific finish against Royal Challengers Bengaluru to get us to a defendable total, continuing what has been a memorable season for him individually. We had a huge run chase in hand against Kolkata Knight Riders, where Vipraj Nigam, Axar Patel and Faf du Plessis shone with the bat, but it wasn’t enough.
The likes of KL Rahul and Abishek Porel have been consistently among the runs, ensuring we get to big totals. Rahul has 371 runs in nine matches while Porel scored 257 runs, both at impressive strike-rates of 146.07 and 153.90, respectively.
Mitchell Starc is leading the way with the ball, snaring 14 wickets so far. Kuldeep, nearing the 100-wicket milestone in TATA IPL, is second in the list for us with 12 wickets at an impressive economy of only 6.74. Vipraj Nigam, too, has made some big contributions with the bat and ball.
Our opponents have not had the best of seasons, but they pose a threat like no other team. Their batting strength continues to remain a challenge for most teams, but having controlled them well in our last outing in Vizag, our bowlers will be confident of pulling off another big performance.
The race to the playoffs is intensifying with the contenders giving it their all for those elusive four spots. A victory in Hyderabad will be a massive boost to our chances.

New Delhi, Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Monday ordered the installation of mist sprayers and water sprinklers on electric poles along central verges and roads in 13 identified pollution hotspots.
Sprinklers mounted on electric poles to tackle dust pollution in 13 Delhi hotspots Infrastructure and civic agencies have been directed to deploy mechanical water sprinklers and anti-smog guns at regular intervals, especially in vulnerable areas.
"This is about enforcement, not announcements," Sirsa said and added the agencies would be directly accountable for visible and verifiable dust-suppression measures at the ground level.
"Delhi's fight against air pollution demands not just planning but daily execution," he said.
The move comes as part of the Delhi government's implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan and follows the identification of pollution hotspots by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee and the Commission for Air Quality Management .
Sirsa said earlier pilot projects by the Delhi Development Authority and the New Delhi Municipal Council had shown promising results.
"Electric poles on central verges provide a structurally suitable and spatially distributed base for these mist spray systems without requiring additional infrastructure," he said.
The environment department has specified technical standards for the sprinklers, including the use of 50-100 micron mist jets operating at 0.45-0.65 MPa pressure.
The goal is to suppress PM2.5 and PM10 particles at the source, particularly along high-traffic corridors and urban construction zones.
The agencies have been asked to ensure dust-free roads, intersections and central verges in hotspot zones through routine mist spraying and mechanised sweeping.
Designated pollution control officers in each agency will monitor daily compliance and submit progress reports while the environment department will conduct surprise inspections.
The minister also emphasised that this shift marked a transition from policy formulation to on-ground enforcement.
The Delhi government remains committed to protecting public health and institutionalising sustainable air quality measures through coordinated inter-agency action, Sirsa said.

FacebookThreadsPart OfThe modifierssee all In a dimly lit
the air hums with the sound of whirring drills and the crackle of soldering irons
wipes the sweat off his brow as he carefully pieces together the guts of an old laptop
It is a daily ritual — resurrecting machines by stitching together motherboards
and batteries scavenged from other trashed older laptops and e-waste — to create functional
“India has always had a repair culture … but companies are pushing planned obsolescence”
there is a huge demand for such ‘hybrid’ laptops,” Prasad says
his hands swapping out a damaged motherboard
“Most people don’t care about having the latest model; they just want something that works and won’t break the bank.”
in metro markets from Delhi’s Nehru Place to Mumbai’s Lamington Road
technicians like Prasad are repurposing broken and outdated laptops that many see as junk
These “Frankenstein” machines — hybrids of salvaged parts from multiple brands — are sold to students
offering a lifeline to those priced out of India’s growing digital economy.“We take usable components from different older or discarded systems to create a new functioning unit
we salvage parts from old laptop motherboards
and certain ICs and use them in the newly refurbished ones,” says Prasad
the owner of the workshop-slash-store where Prasad works
flips open a refurbished laptop while sitting on a rickety stool
He smiles — a sign that another machine has been successfully revived
We also take in second-hand laptops and e-waste from countries like Dubai and China
and sell them at half the price of a new one,” he explains
“A college student or a freelancer can get a good machine for INR 10,000 [about $110 USD] instead of spending INR 70,000 [about $800 USD] on a brand-new one
that difference means being able to work or study at all.”
Singh recalls a young engineering student who visited his shop last year
desperate for a laptop to complete his coursework
“He had saved up for months but was still short of money
I put together a machine for him from spare parts
But this booming market does not exist in isolation
one between small repair technicians and global technology giants
While these Frankenstein laptops are a lifeline for many
the repair industry itself faces significant roadblocks
Many global manufacturers deliberately make repairs difficult by restricting access to spare parts
and implementing software locks that force customers to buy new devices instead of fixing old ones
believes repair technicians like Prasad and Singh are on the front lines of a larger battle
from fixing old radios to hand-me-down phones
But companies are pushing planned obsolescence
making repairs harder and forcing people to buy new devices instead,” Sinha says
“We need to encourage such reuse of materials
These repaired or new hybrid devices minimize waste by extending a product’s lifespan and reducing overall market waste
Reusing components cuts down on the need for new materials
“These parts would end up in a landfill otherwise.”
The Indian government has started discussions on right-to-repair laws
inspired by similar efforts in the European Union and the United States
and repair shops continue to operate in legal limbo
often forced to source different parts from informal and e-waste markets
Farooq Ahmed, an 18-year-old scrap dealer, has spent the last four years sourcing laptop components for technicians like Prasad. “We find working RAM sticks, motherboards with minor faults, batteries that still hold charge and sell it to different electronic workshops,” he says. “These parts would end up in a landfill otherwise.”
But while e-waste salvaging provides cheap repair materials, it comes at a steep price. Without proper safety measures, workers handle toxic materials such as lead, mercury, and cadmium daily. “I cough a lot,” Ahmed admits with a sheepish grin. “But what can I do? This work feeds my family.”
Despite the dangers, the demand for Frankenstein systems continues to grow. And as India’s digital economy expands, the need for such affordable technology will only increase. Many believe that integrating the repair sector into the formal economy could bring about a win-win situation, reducing e-waste, creating jobs, and making technology more accessible.
“If the government recognizes independent repair businesses, gives them access to spare parts, and sets quality standards, we can transform this industry,” Sinha says.
But for now, in dimly lit workshops across the country, men like Prasad and Singh continue their work, reviving the dead, bridging the digital divide, and proving that, in India, the repair ecosystem is set to thrive.
The chair of Delhi University’s (DU) Standing Committee for Academic Affairs has recommended the removal of a chapter on conflict resolution in the psychology syllabus that includes discussions on the Israel-Palestine conflict
suggesting instead that students study the Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita to better understand the “psychology of peace,” according to at least two officials present at a committee meeting on Friday
Too much Western thought: Delhi University panel on psychology unit Chair professor Shri Prakash Singh reportedly objected to several other units in the psychology syllabus as well
including those on “minority stress theory,” “psychology of diversity,” and “dating apps,” stressing that the course included “too much Western thought.”
The committee had convened on Friday to review draft syllabi for the seventh and eighth semesters of various undergraduate departments
marking a critical stage in finalising coursework for the university’s first four-year undergraduate batch
The syllabi for psychology and biochemistry
the standing committee can only make recommendations
The final approval rests with the academic council
an associate professor at Kamala Nehru College and a member of both the standing committee and academic council
said the psychology syllabus had “come under intense scrutiny,” with the chair questioning the inclusion of Western perspectives
According to the psychology department’s proposal
Unit 4 of a discipline-specific elective titled “Psychology of Peace” deals with conflict and its resolution
Topics include: the nature of conflict (international and ethnic)
and methods of conflict resolution including negotiation and mediation
Case studies cited include Israel-Palestine
the observations were made by the chair and were supported by other university officials
“The chair firmly stated that he would not entertain any debate on these topics (the Israel-Palestine conflict and the Kashmir issue)
arguing that the Kashmir issue had already been resolved and there was no need to teach the Israel-Palestine conflict,” Sinha said
“He suggested removing the entire unit and replacing it with content from the Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita.”
The chair also reportedly raised objections to the inclusion of units on “dating apps” and “minority stress theory”
Sinha said that the head of the department (HoD) defended the dating app unit
highlighting the relevance of understanding the psychology of social media and online relationships
particularly in light of recent incidents such as suicides linked to dating app use
especially in the context of contemporary Indian society where issues such as caste discrimination
and the psychology of marginalized groups remain deeply relevant,” Sinha said
said the chair’s objections sounded politically motivated
“Each department has the autonomy to decide what they want to include in the syllabus
because teachers of that department know the best
The way each unit of each paper in the Psychology syllabus has been taken up and scrutinised is really uncalled for
This should worry teachers and parents,” the teacher said
A member of the Democratic Teachers’ Front (DTF)
said it was alarming that academic suggestions from departments were being disregarded
“The administration is raising concerns about syllabus length
but academic content cannot be sacrificed just to fit timeslots
If there’s discomfort with themes like caste
that is deeply concerning,” the faculty member said
“At a time when these issues are so central to our lived reality
we cannot afford to be guided by retrogressive thinking.”
Stunning result for DC after being down and seemingly out for a while
They'll cherish this performance from their two unheralded gems and gain a lot of confidence out of it
while LSG would be pretty shellshocked at the moment
Their bowling concerns were no secret coming into this game but who would've thought it would haunt them so badly after a bright start
Not to forget the runs they left out there earlier
It's a goodbye from Sagar Chawla on behalf of Venky
Ashutosh Sharma | POTM: Took the lessons from last year
Missed out on finishing the game on a couple of occasions in the previous season
The whole year I focussed and visualised about it
Had the belief that if I play till the last over
Want to dedicate this award to my mentor Shikhar paaji
Axar Patel | DC captain: Get used to it now
It's going to be like this only under my captaincy
people won't complain about why I gave that over to Stubbs
Don't remember the last time I saw something like this
The way they played in the first six overs
We know how much potential he has (Vipraj Nigam)
Stats by Shashikant Singh 210 runs is the highest target successfully chased by Delhi Capitals in IPL and this is also the first time a 200-plus target chased against LSG
-- Lucknow Super Giants won the first three H2Hs but Delhi Capitals have won now the last three
Faf du Plessis: What do you reckon of the new kit
lot of cricketers - they will complain about the new rule in IPL
when you think the game is dead and buried someone comes on and plays like that
I will drink more masala tea and enjoy that
saw how much the ball was gripping and losing 5 wickets
My old brain told me that you are never out of the game and the extra batter makes so much difference
so may Indian players can strike it so big
The two boys were effortless with their striking
Reminded me a lot of the 438 game against Australia when Makhaya Ntini got 1 at the end
That's the most important single that Mohit has got in his life
Lots of life left in the old dog - the nature of the IPL
you will think you will stay at one franchise
Moving from Chennai to RCB was a good chapter
the last chapter of the book - how long the pages may be will be with the new team
Rishabh Pant: I think our top-order batters played really well and I think it was a pretty good score on this wicket
As a team we are looking to take positives from every match and as a team we are looking to learn from it (every match.) The more basics we do right
the more it is going to be better for us in the future
but we knew it was a good wicket to bat on
We had to keep doing the basics right more often than not
I think they had a couple of good partnerships
with Ashutosh and one with one other guy (Vipraj Nigam.) I think he (Nigam) did a pretty good job and took the game away from us
but I think we could have done the basics right
but a lots of positives to take from this match
Definitely luck plays a part in this game and if it could have missed his (Mohit Sharma's) pads
But these things happen in the game of cricket
but rather you need to play better cricket
23:24 IST: Well here comes the first proper thriller from IPL 2025
with close to 100 needed off just 45 balls
But everytime it looked like the game was over for DC
It started with an absolute blinder from Vipraj Nigam who played an incredible knock of 39 off just 15 balls to announce his arrival in the IPL
Some of the shots from him were very special and he's going to be one to watch out for
But the killer punch came from Ashutosh Sharma as he muscled the LSG bowlers to the floor with his powerhitting
Pant backed his spinners towards the death
but Bishnoi missed his lengths very badly in the 18th over
while Shahbaz also bowled one right in the slot with just 5 runs left
who showed some good skills with his yorkers
missed his execution in his last two overs as well
The game which seemed to be gone at one point
LSG seemed to have it in the bag with all the big names back in the hut at the halfway mark
But little did they know how a 20-year-old Vipraj Nigam on IPL debut and Ashutosh Sharma would steal the show
Incredible scenes as the DC dugout erupts with joy
Even they can't seem to believe what has just happened while Ashutosh swings his bat and makes animated gestures in celebration
Right in the slot from Shahbaz as he misses his length
and it's hammered straight back down the ground to finish it off
turns away and Mohit opens the face to knock it in front of point for the single he needs
The fielder fumbles to leave Pant frustrated
Tense faces everywhere as we wait for ball-tracking
And there's a big roar as it shows that the ball is missing off stump
Mohit looks to work it through the on-side but the ball turns away sharply to clip the back pad
LSG go for a review as the appeal is turned down
Shahbaz Ahmed [1.0-0-15-0] is back into the attack
Ashutosh finishes the over with a boundary
he drives sweetly and it goes racing away to the right of long-on
offers it in the slot and Ashutosh launches it a long way in the air
Doesn't look like he's got it off the middle but he clears Pooran who leaps in vain at the long-off boundary
Not quite in the blockhole but it's a low full toss on middle and Ashutosh can't get under it
He looks to slog and miscues it in the air over midwicket
Brings up his fifty but that doesn't matter right now
it's not in the blockhole but Kuldeep misses as he pokes from the crease
He charges across to steal a bye and would've been short had Pant made a direct hit
the ball goes straight to Prince who picks it up and hits the stumps from five yards with Kuldeep nowhere in the frame
Kuldeep Yadav run out (Pant/Prince Yadav) 5(5) [4s-1]

The action in this last week of the league stages is only going to get intriguing
Player of the Match: Thanks to the support staff
Davey put up a good partnership at the top
Just shows that this game is not over till the last ball is bowled
David Warner: Pretty bad fielding performance
We needed some consistency at our home venue
We haven't been able to work out a total at home
Anrich Nortje: When we got here yesterday
during training and before the game it felt good to be back in a venue with some carry
This is one of the best grounds in the world
(On his plan for today) Trying to use the conditions
wanted to change it up especially on a wicket like this where there was extra bounce
Was just focusing on what I needed to deliver
so we need to vary it with pace off from time to time
and try to commit to one thing on the days it is coming out well
I must say Kuldeep was our best bowler today
we made it difficult for him by dropping those many
We didn't bowl really well in the first six wickets
we should have taken some wickets the way it was swinging
unfortunately we couldn't end up on the other side
I fell my decision to bowl spin off the last over backfired
Our bowlers didn't pitch the ball up in the powerplay
That was the plan and unfortunately they couldn't execute
we should bowl at the right areas which we are not doing for quite a long time
I got out and the 1st over was also a maiden - we lost six balls over there
The last four overs took everyone on a ride
Livingstone ensured the ride was full of thrills and chills
DC had almost thrown it away so much so that they could have lost this despite having 33 to defend in the last over
The first ball was a dot in the final over
But then a six and a four followed by a no-ball which was hit for a sixer
16 was needed off the last three balls but Livingstone just couldn't connect on the free-hit ball which was a swirling full toss outside off
Punjab started off by giving away a maiden to Khaleel
Taide and Livingstone got them back into the game but the rate was more than 17 per over going into the last five overs
The partnership brewed as DC continued to drop one chance after the other else DC could have closed the game much earlier
Shahrukh Khan and Sam Curran couldn't muster much
That meant the run chase was solely on the shoulders of Livingstone
He tried hard but they fell short by 15 runs
Ishant started the downfall of Punjab with the wicket of Dhawan and ends with the scalp of Livingstone
They have played party spoilers to Punjab's chances
Livingstone slaps it straight to the man at long-off
Livingstone c Axar b Ishant 94(48) [4s-5 6s-9]
and Ishant would be a relieved man after that last dot ball
He connects on a slog outside off and flays that down to deep cover
Livingstone slaps it over wide long-off for a sixer
They did eventually after Warner had an animated chat with the umpire
That was high enough and the third umpire deemed it as a no-ball
Livingstone gets under it but fails to get it over the ropes
That was cracked away over cover for a four
Livingstone connects on it and slams it over long-on
That was a poor ball and Livingstone put it away
Livingstone looks to throw his bat at it and misses
Punjab won't be able to make it to 16 points now
Ishant Sharma [2.0-0-19-1] is back into the attack
pats the ball back to the bowler who grabs it and has a shy at the batter's end
He could have swirled and thrown at the bowler's end but decided to aim for the batter's end and missed
he is closing this game off with this over
Wouldn't it have made sense to take a single
The ball went off the inside edge to the man at short fine
And a run-out trying to get Livingstone on strike
Harpreet Brar looked to pull and missed it
The ball sailed into the gloves of the keeper
The keeper threw it to the bowler who under-armed the throw at the sticks at the bowler's end
Harpreet Brar run out (Philip Salt/Nortje) 0(1)
China’s response to the rising tensions between India and Pakistan after the terror attack in Pahalgam is evolving in keeping with its interests
India has launched a diplomatic blitzkrieg
stating that it was in possession of intelligence that linked the Pahalgam perpetrators to Islamabad
PREMIUM China would be hoping that relations between India and Pakistan further deteriorate
since any conflagration may leave New Delhi’s military firepower depleted (Mohammed Amin War/ANI Photo) To dispel notions of a Beijing-Islamabad nexus
initially tweeted his condolences and urged to “oppose all forms of terrorism” without naming any party a day after the attack
But sensing that Pakistan may get isolated
Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi spoke to his Pakistani counterpart
terming Pakistan as an “all-weather” strategic cooperative partner
Islamabad has stated that it welcomed a transparent investigation into the matter
When the matter came to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC)
Pakistan got a leg up from China in diluting the incident
The UNSC statement read that those responsible for the killings should be held accountable
and resolved to push for international cooperation with all relevant authorities
This is a significant deviation from the UNSC’s position following the 2019 Pulwama attack that sought collaboration with the Indian government and relevant Pakistani authorities
China teamed up with Pakistan to raise the Kashmir issue at the UNSC after India revoked the erstwhile state’s special status
Beijing has also been instrumental in shielding the perpetrators of acts of terror committed on Indian soil
blocked efforts to place Jaish-e-Mohammad’s Rauf Asghar
Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Sajid Mir and Abdur Rahman Makki on a UN sanctions list
the border issue between India and China has been in constant focus
tensions rose following Beijing’s bid to unilaterally alter the status quo along the Line of Actual Control (LAC)
the issue of the contested border with China took centre stage while things were relatively peaceful with Pakistan
India and China finalised patrolling arrangements for friction points in Eastern Ladakh following which
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met at the BRICS summit in Russia
A cautious normalisation is underway with the decks recently cleared for the Kailash Manasarovar pilgrimage in Tibet to resume
High-level engagement has also resumed with restarting of the Special Representatives mechanism
which was mandated with ways to resolve the boundary question
Official statements refer to the China-Pakistan relationship obsequiously “as higher than the Himalayas
nations act solely in supreme national interest
China’s response to the Pahalgam terror strike is in steady contrast with its own stand on many issues
while Beijing launched crackdowns in the wake of terror strikes on the mainland
it has counselled New Delhi and Islamabad to exercise restraint and de-escalate tensions
While China backs Pakistan in seeking an independent investigation into the terrorist attack
it had hit back at Australia barring its imports after Canberra sought an international investigation into the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic
with India’s attention now focused on the western border with Pakistan
China could exploit this situation to extract a better deal and terms of engagement along the LAC
China would be hoping that relations between India and Pakistan further deteriorate
since any conflagration may leave New Delhi’s military firepower depleted
This drained arsenal will further give it leverage in the ongoing LAC negotiations
The Pakistan-China axis can thus be described as a creeper-client relationship
this symbiotic relationship may be a ticket out of instability and economic weakness
a Chinese general has appraised Pakistan’s value in its scheme of things as ‘China’s Israel’
India’s top military leadership has often warned about the possibility of a two-front war
This is in contrast with China’s construct of a multipolar world but a unipolar Asia
Beijing is thus incentivised to prop up Islamabad as a counter to New Delhi
what will China’s response to a military escalation between India and Pakistan be
Pakistan’s hopes of China opening a front came to naught
the big question remains will Beijing have the bandwidth to come to Islamabad’s aid at a time when it is bearing the brunt of US President Donald Trump’s tariffs

One of the greatest fast bowlers the game has ever witnessed
there are barely any laurels Mitchell Starc hasn’t laid his hands on
A two-time ODI World Cup winner and 2021 T20 World Cup winner
Starc has been a batters’ nightmare for more than a decade and continues to be a major threat with the ball
With over 700 wickets to his credit in international cricket
Starc doesn’t just add experience to our bowling line-up
but he will be one of the leaders in the team to guide the youngsters
who was named Player of the Match in the 2024 final vs SRH
is all geared up for his fourth full season in the TATA IPL and it is needless to say
Donovan Ferreira maintains a strike-rate well over 150 and that stat speaks volumes of the player’s calibre
Ferreira can be a menace once he gets going and the fans would be hoping for some blitzkrieg with the bat as the season progresses
The 26-year-old has tasted success in the T20 tournaments in England and South Africa and is all set for a second stint in the TATA IPL
Faf du Plessis is all set for a new chapter in the TATA IPL and we are ever-so excited
the fourth highest overseas run-scorer in IPL history
will be a guiding force for our young top order involving Abishek Porel and Jake Fraser McGurk
the man moves as quickly on the field as anyone
Faf is all set to blaze the red-and-blue of the Capitals
Dushmantha Chameera has represented Sri Lanka across all formats and has made some stellar contributions for his team with the white ball
Chameera has everything you wish to have in a fast bowler - from pace to intensity
Chameera has picked up 141 wickets in 137 T20s across multiple tournaments
The pace attack of the Delhi Capitals looks stronger than ever before and the presence of Chameera is an icing on the cake
Someone who has been Team India's crisis man for every occasion & role
KL Rahul is one of the most talented & elegant batters of our time
While he has been India’s saviour in the lower order in ODIs recently
Rahul has been impregnable as a batter in the TATA IPL over the last few seasons
Rahul boasts of having 575+ run seasons 5 times in a row from 2018 to 2022
The second-fastest IPL fifty belongs to him as well
a new journey beckons one of Indian cricket’s biggest stars
Rahul instantly makes us a side to watch out for with his presence
Ashutosh Sharma made his TATA IPL debut only last year
but quickly settled into one of the toughest roles possible in modern day cricket - a T20 finisher
Some explosive knocks coming in at the death sealed his status as one of the most promising middle order batters right now and for the Capitals
The 26-year-old from Ratlam boasts of an outstanding strike-rate of 182.50 in T20 cricket
returns triumphantly as the reigning Ranji champion and as one of the leading run-scorers in domestic cricket this season
A trailblazing campaign in the Vijay Hazare Trophy
was backed up by four centuries in the Ranji Trophy
one of the two Indian triple centurions in Tests
is one of the most revered names in the Indian domestic circuit and his addition instantly boosts our batting line-up
A journey that began in 2019 now scales the next level
with Axar Patel all set to lead the Delhi Capitals beginning this season
has been a revelation in Indian cricket over the last 24 months
adding two ICC trophies to his cabinet - the T20 World Cup 2024 and Champions Trophy 2025
Bapu has always been a focal attack point with the ball and has taken giant strides with the bat lately
The added responsibility will be coupled by sky-high expectations
But if we learnt something in these last few months
left-arm leggies are a rare sign and very few in history have had the consistency of Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep is coming fresh off the Champions Trophy success
the 30-year-old delivered a match-winning spell in the final - picking two crucial wickets
Kullu’s journey with Capitals began in 2022 and he has scalped 47 wickets in three editions for us
Kuldeep-Axar as a pair are as formidable a spinning duo you could ask for
and we are all geared up to witness another season of their magic
Mohit Sharma is one of the leading wicket-takers in IPL history
Another experienced addition to the Capitals’ camp
Mohit is expected to guide our young quicks to glory and partner up with Mitchell Starc in the death overs whenever needed
representing the country at the 2014 T20 World Cup and the 2015 ODI World Cup
the veteran has snapped 40 wickets in the last two seasons and will be rearing to continue the purple patch
Thangarasu Natarajan’s yorkers have troubled batters multiple times over the last few seasons
the Tamil Nadu cricketer is all prepared for his first taste of the Delhi Mehmaan Nawaazi
Prolific in his craft and relentless in his pursuits
Natarajan is a seasoned campaigner in IPL who instantly raises the bar for our bowling attack
Natarajan has enjoyed a lot of success in death bowling over the last few seasons
playing a crucial role in his team’s ascendance to the final
Mukesh Kumar made his IPL debut with us in 2023 and has quickly grown into a trustable source of wickets and tight overs in the short format
Shortly after an impressive debut campaign in 2023
Mukesh made his debut across all formats before the year ended and no wonder there was a bidding war at the 2025 IPL auction for him
he is returning home and another exciting spell awaits in the red and blue
Mukesh so far has picked up 24 wickets in 20 matches
He will be a key presence in this line-up this year and we cannot wait for him to roar at the Kotla (and other venues too!)
The all-round brilliance of Ajay Mandal has been a pillar of strength for Chhattisgarh in domestic cricket for quite some time now
Some terrific all-round performances in the recently concluded domestic season
including Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
highlight the player’s ability to come clutch when needed
Mandal bats at a strike-rate just over 130 and also picks wickets regularly with the ball
His slow left-arms can cause the batters troubles
while his big-hitting strength will always be vital
Darshan Nalkande is coming fresh off a Ranji triumph
where he made a crucial contribution in the final
The 26-year-old has been featuring in the domestic circuit for over half-a-decade now and is a terrific addition to our pace battery
Nalkande has been a potent wicket-taker in the shortest format
The white ball has been his strength since making his first foray onto the professional stage and we are nothing but excited to see him excel in our red and blue
Jake Fraser McGurk represents everything that’s exciting about the GenZ T20 cricketers
who are unafraid of the situation and see every ball as an opportunity to maximise
We saw a very exhilarating trailer of his prowess against SRH last season at the Kotla
JFM smashed 330 runs in nine matches at a staggering strike-rate of 234.05
His promise will meet the experience of Faf du Plessis and KL Rahul this season
making our top order look ever so exciting
explosive and enterprising - Sameer Rizvi is a box office cricketer who can crank up the atmosphere regardless of the format
CK Nayudu Trophy left bowlers gasping for air and the youngster from Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for an all-important season now with the Delhi Capitals
Sameer is yet to make his mark in the TATA IPL
but has shown glimpses of the havoc he can create when given time
Every time he comes out to bat this season
Tristan Stubbs continues his journey with the Delhi Capitals for yet another exciting season
A talented young batter capable of batting in multiple positions and roles
there are very few things on the field that cannot do well
amassing 405 runs at a brilliant strike-rate of 173.82
Stubbs has been instrumental in his country’s white ball setup while also flourishing in T20 tournaments elsewhere
The expectations will be higher from this highly talented young cricketer when the new season begins
but the promise he has shown makes us believe we’re in for a treat
Abishek Porel joined us in 2023 and the youngster’s journey is all set to continue for another exciting phase
could strike the best of bowlers all over the park
where he scored 327 runs at a strike-rate of nearly 160
levels up our optimism for what he can do this time around
The batting line-up in and around him boasts of plenty of experience
which will help Porel to play his natural game
A new star is on the rise and we are all excited to see the heights he will scale this season
Vipraj Nigam burst into the limelight during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25
While his leg-breaks bamboozled many batters
his ability to hit the odd big shots was also on display for Uttar Pradesh
The 20-year-old is just about making in-roads in the domestic circuit
but has shown plenty of promise as one of the next big things
The shortest format has a special place for leg-spinners and we too are hopeful Vipraj will be able to make his way to the top
Tripurana Vijay has taken giant strides in domestic cricket with Andhra this edition
registering big spells at regular intervals for his team
he is all set for his first stint with the Delhi Capitals
joining a bandwagon of talented and potent spinners in our team
Vijay has played eight T20 matches and has a splendid economy of only 6.00
but it’s his exploits with the red ball that caught attention over the last few months
We are confident that he will continue this impressive run of form into the IPL as well
Manvanth Kumar is another youngster scouted by Delhi Capitals
After making his presence felt in the Karnataka Premier League
Manvanth went on to feature for the Karnataka T20 side in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
he can bowl and he can make an impactful contribution whenever needed
A new season and new challenge awaits the 21-year-old and we are more than excited to welcome him to the red-and-blue family
Madhav Tiwari might be a relatively unknown name in Indian cricket now
the 21-year-old is expected to rise up higher and higher
Madhav produced some terrific performances with the ball at the U19 level for Madhya Pradesh and is a very capable batter as well
Madhav Tiwari could be one of our X-factor signings in this edition and we’re eager to see what he can contribute to the side
the left-arm orthodox will once again lead our spin attack in the TATA WPL 2025

the designer opens his most personal store yet—complete with sculptural design touches and a refreshed Johari 2.0 collection built for summer celebrations
There are certain places that seem to wait for you—quietly, patiently—until the timing is just right. For Punit Balana, that place was a quiet corner in Delhi’s historic Ambawatta complex
in the middle of a friend’s wedding—mid-pheras
“I remember leaving the ceremony in my kurta-pajama and rushing to the location,” he laughs
I want it.’” He was flying abroad the next day
so he promised to return in the morning to sign the paperwork
‘this is it’ moment that you don’t question
That instinct has now materialised into a stunning new store—1,600 square feet of soft curves, sun-warmed textures, and quiet luxury, marking the designer’s first standalone address in the capital. But this isn’t just another retail launch. For Balana, it’s the physical embodiment of a long-held dream and the natural next chapter in his ongoing love letter to Jaipur
and a colour palette that walks the line between rooted and romantic
I wanted to bring Jaipur to Delhi in a very modern yet soulful way,” he says
“Every element — from the architecture to the lighting to the textures- is rooted in craft but reimagined for today’s woman.”
A layout that’s closer to a home than a showroom
Curtain tassels trace soft frames around archways
Sculptural forms emerge in unexpected corners
this store has a softness to it; it’s calmer
“It feels less like a retail space and more like a walk through a creative memory filled with small stories
and nods to the heritage that defines us.”
There are details you might miss at first glance but Balana hopes you won’t. Like a sculptural fern installation made entirely from discarded hangers, wrapped in bandhani fabric and finished with the label’s signature coin embroidery
“Most people won’t realise what it’s made from; it looks so refined,” he says
“But it’s a detail that took endless sampling and creative thinking
I love how it transforms something overlooked into something luxurious—it’s very us.”
And then there’s his favourite spot: the trial room
a large black-framed mirror with our chandi tilla work
and beautiful coin-embroidered lights made right in our factory
so does a new design chapter: the launch of Johari 2.0
a fresh interpretation of the much-loved Johari collection that debuted in October 2024
If the original collection paid homage to the energy of Jaipur’s Johari Bazaar—vivid
unapologetically rich this sequel breathes new air into it
“Johari 2.0 is deeply rooted in the same values as the original—a celebration of traditional craft techniques and timeless silhouettes,” Balana says
we’ve reimagined the colour palette with fresher
lighter tones and added new print stories to give it a more elevated feel
The idea was to keep the soul of Johari intact while refining its visual language so it feels like a natural evolution
A post shared by Punit Balana (@punitbalanaofficial)
The colour story is a mix of memory and modernity with signature Baingani and Raani pink still anchoring the palette
a shade inspired by the faded pinks of old city walls at dusk
Metallic tissue fabrics and cotton silks bring lightness and lustre to the collection
making it perfect for summer weddings and sunlit celebrations
beloved waistcoat-lehenga sets have been transformed into structured blouses
“This collection brings effortless elegance with a touch of tradition,” Balana says
“It’s perfect for the summer bride and groom
and anyone who appreciates timeless craftsmanship.”
A post shared by Punit Balana (@punitbalanaofficial)
And while women’s occasion wear continues to be a strength
the menswear edit holds its own: relaxed kurtas in dusty hues designed for the contemporary groom who wants to look sharp without trying too hard
and completely in step with the mood of the moment
One of the most compelling things about both the store and the new collection is how they carry the same design DNA: an appreciation for detail
just thoughtful design that speaks for itself
chandeliers inspired by the 80-kali lehenga
all of it comes together to tell the story of a brand that’s both evolving and deeply consistent in its values
The store also houses stylists for bespoke fittings and appointments
“This space is filled with so much love and intention,” Punit says
“Every corner has a bit of Punit Balana and our craft in it.” As he settles into this new Delhi chapter
“We’re gearing up for a very momentous milestone—ten years of Punit Balana,” he shares
we’re working on the relocation and complete reimagining of our Jaipur store.”
it’s clear that he’s not just expanding his brand—he’s deepening it
Whether you’ve followed his work since the early Anarkali days or are just discovering the world of Punit Balana
this new store is more than a shopping stop
and creative legacy—tucked into one of Delhi’s most iconic neighbourhoods
complete with neon signs and the promise of a late night ramen cart
his perpetually jovial sous chef at Masque
but the menu has Varun’s Culinary Institute of America pedigree written all over it
a highest common denominator for being properly corny; it comes dusted in peri peri lest you forget you’re in a bar
The morel dish–a lush mess of Himalayan gucchi piled atop whipped paneer and candied five spiced pinenuts
the latter originally created as part of our SALON colaba weekend at Masque Lab—is built on the same hi-fi logic of the best chaat
Paradox’s real triumph springs from putting forth its own language of Indianness—one that is premised neither on borrowed ideas from abroad nor on trite imaginings of itself
and Jim Beam bourbon is stirred with fresh musk melon juice
The food offerings are mix of familiar favourites that will appease picky palettes like variations of salads
and Nama signatures that will pique your curiosity like Crackling Pot Rice; a fun take on a quintessential coastal thali
but served in a clay pot complete with poriyal
Other interesting standouts are the Lobster in XO Sauce
topped with crispy bacon and a sunny-side-up egg
thanks to dishes like the spiced potato burger and mushroom-feta sandwich
Rooted in comfort and layered with Indian flavours
Nikkei-forward suspects one would find at most high energy restaurants
like Crab Tanuki with crab tempura and avocado
a thick Sindhi flatbread flavoured with onions
creating a homey space that honours Panjab’s layered heritage
dishes that for chef Kapur recall family tables and old neighbourhoods
with cocktails named after Indian cities and ingredients rooted in memory
like the floral Madurai Bloom or fig-laced Nubra
the Mohali space blends nostalgia with modern flair
Go to experience a culinary map of India told through one man’s memories

(1:01)Varun Aaron and Katey Martin on the SRH captain's spell (1:01)
No Result Delhi Capitals 133 for 7 (Stubbs 41*
Rain put an official end to Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) IPL 2025 playoffs hopes and gave Delhi Capitals (DC) what could be a valuable point in their bid to finish in the top four. It certainly looked like a point gained for DC rather than one lost, after Pat Cummins took three new-ball wickets to put SRH in the driver's seat at the innings break
the outfield was too sodden for the ground staff to clear by 11.42pm
the official cut-off time for a five-over chase
A grass-free surface at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium proved to be a tricky one
offering enough grip for balls banged into a hard length to misbehave
and Cummins is a master of banging the ball into a hard length
The SRH captain took the new ball himself with Mohammed Shami left out
getting it to straighten and find Karun Nair's edge
with the ball frequently stopping on the batter or - particularly if delivered with a wobbly seam - deviating sideways
Cummins had taken three wickets and Ishan Kishan - keeping for the first time this season
relieving Heinrich Klaasen of the gloves - three catches
Pat Cummins wheels away after dismissing Karun Nair with the first ball BCCIWith Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat also getting into the wickets column
DC were gasping at 29 for 5 in the eighth over
The fullish ball Unadkat bowled to dismiss KL Rahul
summed up the conditions - on nine out of ten IPL pitches
Rahul would have probably middled the drive he attempted; this was the tenth pitch
and the ball straightened to kiss his edge and make Kishan the first keeper to catch out an entire top four in an IPL innings
Tristan Stubbs anchored DC's recovery from that point, putting on 33 with Vipraj Nigam for the sixth wicket - Nigam sacrificed his wicket following a mix-up that left both batters at the same end - and 66 with Ashutosh Sharma for the seventh.
As they have done in other recent games, DC named a bowler-heavy starting XI despite batting first, and brought Ashutosh off the Impact Player bench when the need arose. And Ashutosh was primarily responsible for a late flourish that brought DC 61 runs off their last six overs, hitting three sixes in a 26-ball 41. Stubbs finished unbeaten on 41 off 36 balls.
Rain began soon after DC's innings ended, leaving SRH waiting to begin a chase that eventually never took place.
With three games left to play, SRH can finish the league stage with a maximum of 13 points. Four teams already have 14 or more points. DC, with 13 from 11 games, sit just outside that group.
Martin: Took SRH too long to realise their batting approach might not work"There will definitely be some soul searching because you have to put into the equation what conditions dictate to you," Aaron says
Virat Kohli continues to lead Orange Cap table after washout between SRH and DCPrasidh Krishna is at the top of the Purple Cap table with 19 wickets from ten games
Vettori: 'Conditions in Hyderabad weren't what we expected this year'"It has been tricky, it hasn't been easy for the batters," admits SRH head coach
