Most of the focus towards the Giants' draft class has revolved around their two first-round picks and rightfully so after general manager Joe Schoen was able to add perhaps the best player in the draft in Abdul Carter and a potential franchise quarterback in Jaxson Dart But the big boost that the team's defensive front received from the draft goes beyond the selection of Carter the Giants added another big body with the selection of Toledo defensive tackle Darius Alexander As excited as they are about the addition of Carter the Giants seem just as excited about throwing Alexander into the mix up front a 3-technique that we did a lot of work on," Schoen told the media after drafting the tackle out of Toledo we felt we needed to add some youth to the defensive line "Down at the Senior Bowl and he had a really good week and (defensive line coach) Dre Patterson thinks the world of him and (assistant defensive line coach) Bryan Cox and getting a guy like this that can come in and develop with the depth that we have so we're excited to add another player to our front seven." Giants draft picks tour their new home at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center Joe Schoen Senior Vice President and General Manager the Giants now have a lot of depth on their defensive front Alexander joins free agent additions Roy Robertson-Harris and Jeremiah Ledbetter as the new guys in the interior a group led by three-time Pro Bowl tackle Dexter Lawrence The unit also features veteran Rakeem Nunez-Roches and younger guys such as Elijah Chatman The 24-year-old rookie showed some promise as a pass rusher at Toledo picking up 7.5 sacks across his final two seasons But his strength truly lies in his ability to stop the run an area the Giants have struggled with in recent years length and athleticism for his position," NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah wrote about the defensive tackle "He is an older prospect as a sixth-year senior but I believe he will be a Day 1 impact player on all three downs." The rookie tackle is undoubtedly entering a great situation Lawrence obviously draws the most attention on the inside and Kayvon Thibodeaux as options off the edge it's easy to see how the player lining up next to Lawrence on the inside should see plenty of one-on-one situations It's clear the Giants saw Alexander as someone who could complement their three-time Pro Bowler on the inside and take advantage of those single matchups "We always talk about four hands," Schoen said after Day 2 of the draft "Oftentimes there are four hands on Dexter Lawrence so if you can get somebody on the opposite side of Dexter that can win one-on-ones and has the ability to win those match-ups consistently Third-round pick Darius Alexander discusses becoming a member of the New York Giants It should not come as a surprise that Alexander is equally as excited to line up next to Lawrence "I think it's a great thing," Alexander said after being drafted about pairing up with Lawrence "I think they get two guys out there who want to go play hard just be able to go in there and learn from him and be able to pick up things from him and install into my game to see how I can use it as a weapon on the field is what I'll be looking for Just a chance to go out there and compete with another great guy so I'm looking forward to that and I want to have fun." Alexander added: "I like to see how he plays with power He's able to be elusive out there and make plays in between every gap I love watching how dominant he is and the force he uses to push guys back and they can't stop him." Perhaps the biggest difference between the current defensive front and last year's other than the general influx of new talent is the versatility that the new group offers While Alexander primarily lined up in the B-gap at Toledo he did see some snaps at just about every position across the defensive line This was a common theme among many of the Giants' additions up front this offseason "If we can get to third down we've got a lot of options in terms of where guys can line up in terms of versatility," Schoen told the media there's some versatile pieces in there that can move around We're going to have some really good depth and competition in the front seven." there seemed to be a commonality between many of the Giants' 2025 draft picks coach Brian Daboll talked about how toughness was something they were looking for with their selections this year It's safe to say Alexander fits that description "I love taking my opponents will and just watching them go to the sideline and I know what to say to the coach," Alexander said at his introductory press conference "I feel like that's something they do well here The New York Giants' 2025 offseason workout program is underway at part of the nationwide May Day Strong movement joining over 1,000 coordinated protests across the U.S calling for federal government accountability A highlight of the Dexter gathering was an impassioned address by U.S who delivered a wide-ranging speech centered on defending constitutional rights and federal programs under threat It is the collective ‘WE’ that is going to stand up for America and the values that it stands for in our Constitution,” Dingell said setting the tone for a speech that alternated between warnings and calls for hope Dingell warned of growing threats to freedom of speech citing government surveillance of social media and visa cancellations targeting international students “We don’t know where it’s going next and we will not let them take our freedom of speech away!” she declared Referencing reports that students had lost visas without notice or explanation Dingell criticized federal handling of immigration enforcement on campuses “Nobody knew that they no longer had a visa It’s not a reason because you spoke up with free speech to talk about how you felt about Gaza Dingell also took aim at federal budget proposals that threaten to slash programs like Medicaid “The President said he wouldn’t cut Social Security Bull—-!” she said to cheers and applause She warned that proposed cuts to Medicaid—$880 million—would devastate rural hospitals and children’s healthcare “75% of the children at Children’s Hospital in Detroit have Medicaid Medicaid is the largest payer of long-term care in this country.” Connecting the crowd’s activism to tangible results Dingell highlighted recent victories she attributed to collective pressure including the reversal of cuts to the National Women’s Health Initiative we’re eliminating the storySaveDexter Morgan knows what the end feels like The morally minded serial killer portrayed by Michael C Hall first showed up in Showtime’s eponymous drama series Dexter in the thick of the late-2000s antihero boom alongside Walter White (Breaking Bad) and Don Draper (Mad Men) The hit show ran for eight seasons before reaching a widely maligned conclusion in which Dexter decided to fake his own death and go live as a lumberjack in a secluded mountain town Hall then reprised the role in a sequel series which ended with Dexter seemingly actually dying—at the hands of his son so the possibility was always—at least for me—percolating,” Hall says over Zoom He’s speaking to me on break from a day of production on Dexter: Resurrection whose title should tell you that New Blood was not Hall reiterates that he personally pushed to bring his signature character back to TV Dexter’s original showrunner and New Blood’s creator Here’s how Phillips remembers the pitch: “Michael said Can you figure out a way to undo what we did at the end of New Blood Is there a way to make him survive?’” Within a week Phillips and fellow executive producer Scott Reynolds came up with an idea Courtesy of Zach Dilgard/Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.They put a Resurrection writers’ room together while shooting Original Sin a prequel starring Patrick Gibson as Dexter in his 20s set about 15 years before the events of the initial series which concluded in February (it’s been renewed for a second season) It’s narrated by Hall’s Dexter in the immediate aftermath of New Blood; as he’s revived by doctors He looks back on how he got into the killing-for-justice game in the first place “The character was severely traumatized by a lot of what happened to him in the original incarnation and is only now at a place where he’s able to shed that,” Hall says “Spending time with that [Original Sin] material helped embroider and color in what was maybe a line drawing or an outline that I had in my mind from the beginning—so it’s a tool for us.” Premiering this summer on Paramount+ With Showtime Resurrection takes place a few weeks after New Blood and is framed by the intense dynamic between father and son Dexter chases a missing Harrison to New York City where David Zayas’s Captain Angel Batista is hot on their trail from way down in Miami Zayas is far from the only original cast member returning: “John Lithgow and Jimmy Smits will be in for a minute,” Phillips says referring to their beloved respective roles of the Trinity Killer and ADA Miguel Prado who instilled the code of killing in his son Then there’s the matter of Harrison—safe to say Courtesy of Zach Dilgard/Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.“Dexter has a lot of hesitation about making contact which is a fundamental part of the tension that is pervasive for the first bit of the season,” Hall says an all-the-more potent connection to Dexter’s tiny sense of humanity so it’s a major bolt of thread running through his interior life and the life of the season.” Phillips adds that Dexter’s search for his son intersects with the reemergence of his father’s physical memory: “Dexter finds Harrison fairly quickly Is it going to screw him up to have a zombie dad?’” At the “dramatically right moment,” Phillips teases “Dexter is determined to make sure that he has a solid—and more importantly honest and loving—relationship with his son.” Courtesy of Zach Dilgard/Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.Courtesy of Zach Dilgard/Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.And then there are the new cast additions: Neil Patrick Harris only once imagined “It’s important to remind yourself that while you’re very much wide awake in the present you’re simultaneously in the midst of what was once a dream.” significant work onstage and onscreen both before and after Dexter—coleading HBO’s groundbreaking Six Feet Under doing Cabaret and Hedwig on Broadway—he’s long been most closely associated with his chilly strangely vulnerable turn as TV’s most honorable serial killer (He earned another Emmy nod for best drama series as a producer.) “Why would an audience invite a serial killer to their home every Sunday night he does all of that—but it’s Michael,” Phillips says and shows a whole other side to the process that we absorb and honor and believe—and Courtesy of Zach Dilgard/Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.Courtesy of Zach Dilgard/Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.I ask Hall if he felt any reluctance about jumping back into the character especially since it required an “undoing,” as he described it “None that in any way serves me at the present—I’m probably dispositionally addicted to ambivalence “It’s a special thing to be onto something that continues to give you something back any misgivings were overwhelmed by relishing the idea of him rising from his self-imposed ashes.” both Hall and Phillips sound energized by what they call at various points a “second chance” and a “new beginning.” They’re all over New York “a place where you can be lost and found,” as Phillips puts it and now he’s found himself again.” The same logic might just apply to where Phillips and co They can imbue the psychological insights of Resurrection as a limited “We’ve got the strongest franchise in Showtime’s history and we plan to do this for years,” Phillips says The thinking is not to come back for a sort of self-contained one-off again is that the story will continue beyond this.” Hell flesh-and-blood version of that horror trope of someone who just refuses to go down,” Hall says Sophie Grace Clark is a Live News The SAVE Act was written by Representative Chip Roy and has received support from President Donald Trump Representative Dexter brought forward amendments to the SAVE Act on April 1 which were intended to protect married women She introduced these amendments to "[force] a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives requiring Republicans to defend their anti-woman .@RepDexterOR introduced an amendment to Republicans’ SAVE Act that would stop the bill from being implemented unless we could guarantee that no eligible married women be denied the right to vote.Republicans blocked it. Wonder why 🤔 pic.twitter.com/lLxV1ARhhh The amendments were introduced as a "Previous Question," a procedural tool to change bills and would have required additional research and certification before passing the bill to ensure the law's new requirements would not disenfranchise millions of people Republicans prevented the ability to thoroughly research the impact this bill is predicted to have on minorities they could not guarantee the voting rights safety of several groups of Americans under the SAVE Act When discussing her amendment on married women on the House floor we are putting 70 million American women at risk of disenfranchisement That's one in four voters in this country." I have to stand here on the House floor of the United States to defend a woman's right to vote She asked her Republican colleagues to "show courage in this moment" to vote on her "common sense amendment." Republican voters may be more heavily impacted by this bill than Democratic voters as a Pew study found that more Republican than Democratic women choose to change their name after getting married The SAVE Act also accepts valid passports as proof of ID. The states with the fewest number of people with passports are West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. All of these states voted for President Donald Trump in 2024 The SAVE Act's requirement that rural and older voters register in person may also chip away at the traditional Republican base Representative Roy told Newsweek previously that the SAVE Act has provisions to allow states to make their own exceptions for aspects of the law director of voting advocacy and partnerships at Campaign Legal Center telling Newsweek that the bill does not appropriate money for state electoral facilities which would make it significantly more difficult for individual states to make their own laws built around the SAVE Act He also informed Newsweek that one state with similar voter registration provisions just had its laws struck down due to civil rights violations which Congress is voting on this week.If you got married and changed your name your ID will not match your birth certificate. If you do not have a passport and your ID does not match your birth certificate The SAVE Act has drawn headlines over how difficult registering to vote would become for married women whose surnames do not match their birth certificates but the SAVE Act's requirement for people to register in person would also make it impossible for troops serving overseas for example Ambassadors or people working in the foreign service It would also make voter registration significantly more difficult for people with disabilities who may not be able to physically access a registration point Married women are not the only group hit by the strict ID requirements Many older Black Americans do not have a birth certificate because they were denied hospital births and many Native Americans do not have citizenship listed on their tribal IDs People with no birth certificate can use a passport Although people who are already registered to vote may think the SAVE Act will not apply to them the bill also requires frequent voter roll purges Those purges often result in taking American citizens off the rolls meaning they would have to reregister under the new parameters of the SAVE Act Americans who move home to a new district would have to reregister there This would especially impact people who are moving due to a natural disaster and may have lost their ID alongside their other possessions Civil rights advocate Genesis Robison, the Executive Director of the Equal Ground Action Fund in Florida, spoke with Newsweek about the financial impact for many Americans who would have to purchase new documents in order to vote saying: "It basically amounts to a poll tax which I know Black voters know all too well "And so obviously there's a whole host of reasons this is bad the financial impact that's standing in the way of folks being able to cast their ballot." Representative Dexter: "The SAVE Act isn't about preventing fraud it's about preventing participation in our elections That's why I demanded that House Republicans adopt my amendment to give assurances that married women who change their last name will not be shut out of the ballot box it's about the married woman in Hood River whose documents don't match after changing her name It's about making sure our democracy includes all of us Representative Chip Roy in a statement to Newsweek in February: "This is absurd armchair speculation being spun up by media outlets who care more about clicks than reality … This bill isn't being attacked because it'll exclude citizens from voting—it won't It's being attacked because the policy is wildly popular with the American people its opponents want and need illegals to vote and they'll use anything they can to attack it." Jonathan Diaz told Newsweek: "The top line is that the SAVE Act would create really significant new burdens on Americans to register to vote. It would make it harder for most eligible American citizens to register and cast a ballot … [States] don't have the money and the resources to do this without appropriations from Congress And the impact on voters would be really significant." with four Democratic members of Congress crossing party lines to vote for it It now heads to the Senate where members will have the chance to include amendments similar to Dexter's ET: This story was updated to include additional information Newsweek is committed to challenging conventional wisdom and finding connections in the search for common ground Newsweek is committed to journalism that's factual and fair Hold us accountable and submit your rating of this article on the meter. the Bearcats (15-7) topped last season’s 14-win total and have now won more games than any previous season dating back to 2012 “We are a year older,” third-year Dexter coach Steve Edwards said recently of his team’s success this spring “The guys understand (what it takes) and they trust each other The Bearcats have won three of their past four games and Edwards said his approach with the players has been to focus on the immediate picture “The idea that we are pushing this year is to be our best version every day,” Edwards said “We have an obsession with being our best version.” That was the case against the Indians (8-12) which Dexter has now won three straight against after losing 12 consecutive contests stretching over a decade “That is what is going to surpass a lot of teams that just have talent.” Dexter trailed 2-0 before it had even taken an at-bat the Bearcats exploded on Kennett with three walks as they scored all 11 runs in the first inning Dexter is unbeaten this network's flagship series is apparently still as strong as ever — the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin premiered at the end of 2024, and the second sequel series, Dexter: Resurrection is next up on the schedule for Paramount+ with Showtime Considering how poorly received the original series finale was (never forget lumberjack Dexter) Showtime's investment in keeping the franchise going is impressive Like New Blood before it, Resurrection is a sequel series that focuses primarily on Dexter (Michael C. Hall) himself as he continues to search for a more peaceful way to exist And after Original Sin took us all the way back to the beginning of Dexter's murder career it'll be fascinating to return to the elder version of the character for a new story in Resurrection Read on for everything we know so far about what to expect from the next Dexter series Paramount+ with Showtime released a little teaser in late April though it doesn't actually show any scenes from the series it's just a short clip of Dexter reading a newspaper that has a front-page headline about Dexter's death — Dexter lowers the paper from in front of his face But the real purpose of this teaser is to announced the premiere date for the new series: July 11 This latest teaser for Dexter: Resurrection doesn't exactly have a lot of info beyond the premiere date but there's still three more months to get the hype train underway — you can expect an actual trailer when we're within a month or so of the premiere Dexter: Resurrection is scheduled to debut on Paramount+ with Showtime on July 11 As we saw in the opening moments of Original Sin, doctors got Dexter's heart beating again, and the cold essentially saved him. The twist set up the prequel, as Dexter looked back on the decisions made by his younger self (played by Patrick Gibson) "In the beginning of Resurrection, the doctor says to Dexter, 'Had you been shot in the summertime, you'd be dead, but you were shot in zero-degree weather. And we ripped you open, and were able to get you minutes before you died,'" Phillips explained to TV Insider and others have speculated a jury could let him go since his code only had him murdering actual killers We also know that Resurrection won't be a limited series and there is potential for several seasons we'd like to add the theory that Dexter somehow works with police to hunt down other serial killers and struggles to contain his Dark Passenger when he can't kill an assistant district attorney who cozied up to Dexter after Dexter killed his brother a seemingly devoted family man and high school teacher who'd been secretly operating as a serial murderer called the Trinity Killer for decades Lithgow also appeared in Dexter: New Blood in a flashback Uma Thurman and Peter Dinklage, Dexter: Resurrection "There's a whole cast of characters that populate his wider world and have the potential to re-emerge." He's not exaggerating which features four big names who are new to the universe of Dexter Behind the scenes, Phillips is back to showrun the series while long-time writer Scott Reynolds is also on board. Marcos Siega who directed some of the original series and directed/executive produced New Blood is also back as one of Resurrection's directors The entire original series and the 10-episode sequel Dexter: New Blood are now streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime but both can also be found on other streaming services This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks The action you just performed triggered the security solution There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase You can email the site owner to let them know you were blocked Please include what you were doing when this page came up and the Cloudflare Ray ID found at the bottom of this page You can find him at Threads @mickmartin182 We finally know exactly when to expect Michael C. We sat down with former NFL player and Super Bowl XXXVII MVP, Dexter Jackson, to get his thoughts on the Bucs, the NFL Draft, Shedeur Sanders With the talent that he has combined with the ability to learn from Mike Evans and Chris Godwin he’ll be able to grow so much by learning from those guys With the way offenses are ran now in the NFL they want to put up points in these 3-WR and 4-WR sets They want to throw the football and spread it around When you look at Ohio State’s track record with wide receivers in the last few years it makes you think that Egbuka could be a phenomenal player for a really long time Some people see Egbuka as a succession plan to Evans but he won’t have to fill those shoes right away as Evans is still producing at a high level so it was smart to bring in a guy who can be a potential successor to Mike I think it was a great selection by the Bucs and Egbuka is going to contribute from day one while learning from two great Pro Bowlers in the same receiver room It’s interesting with the Bengals because they already have all the talent It’s just about being healthy for them They’ve been among the favorites in the past but then lost Joe Burrow to injury a couple of times You must be lucky in the NFL a lot of the time Cincinnati hasn’t always had this luck recently Burrow is always going to be the key for the Bengals to be successful He’s right up there with the other elite quarterbacks in the league right now Numbers don’t lie and he has a great work ethic too and I love that he’s always willing to do whatever it takes to win even if that means getting out of the pocket and diving for a first down When other people see their leader going out there and doing anything it takes to win The AFC North is a tough, very physical division, so they will have to fight, but with their draft picks, quarterback, and that wide receiver duo (Ja’Marr Chase & Tee Higgins) they can definitely beat the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers to that division title if they can stay healthy College production isn’t really a concern to me When you talk about a lack of college production this can sometimes be down to the college’s system or coach If you get drafted to a team that can give you all three of these things then you can be a perfect fit for that team regardless of the numbers you put up in college Stewart has all the intangibles needed to be a success in the NFL If he wants to be great and has a good work ethic If the Bengals can keep Trey Hendrickson and he is willing to help develop Stewart that could be a very exciting situation for Bengals fans You know the Bengals will put up points on offense if he and Stewart can get after the quarterback on defense you’re looking at a very dangerous team who can be a favorite to win the Super Bowl cornerback was definitely a need for the Cardinals The good news for Johnson and the Cardinals is that the NFC West isn’t full of explosive passing offenses so it’s a good situation for him to come into and grow Sliding in the draft could’ve helped ease the pressure on Johnson as he’s not going to a team who is in full rebuild mode I was told I was going to be selected by teams who were picking higher up but I ended up going to the Buccaneers in the 4th Round it’s about grabbing your opportunity and showing your worth A healthy Will Johnson is a special player He could allow the Cardinals to do so much more on defense When you have a special player like Johnson you can run different zone schemes and blitz packages and do so much because you know Johnson can stand up on his own and do well That’s the reason you pick a Will Johnson because you can leave him out on his own and he’ll be able to do things very few other defensive backs can do so you’re always going to need someone like Johnson who can go and lock down receivers Going up against Marvin Harrison Jr. in practice will also help Johnson’s development a lot and practice should be harder than the actual games if you’re going up against one of the best young receivers in the game every day in practice They will both help sharpen each other’s tools and that competition will help create a better team environment in Arizona Farmer brings a lot to the Patriots’ defense so I know Farmer will be coached hard and he’ll be coached well Vrabel knows the Xs and Os and he knows what buttons to press to make guys play harder and understand the game better They are still rebuilding but have a lot of good young players so it’s a great time for Farmer to come into the team He has the opportunity to play right away and learn from a great coach in an organization that has won six Super Bowl championships The AFC East is not a strong division right now the Patriots could win this division in 2025 It’s cold in New England and you can’t throw the ball 60 times for them to go out and get a bigger guy in Farmer who can plug the hole but also still get pressure on the quarterback up front and skill set into consideration and combine that with the situation he is in being coached by Vrabel in a cold environment where he could play right away Farmer could be a future Defensive Player of the Year Maybe I’m a little biased because he’s coming from Florida State but they do have a history of creating great NFL defensive players I was supposed to be drafted a lot higher than where I ended up I hope Sanders does what I did and uses it for fuel and he should write down the name of every quarterback who went ahead of him and put that list on the back of his bedroom door That’s what I did so the list was the first thing I saw when I woke up and the last thing I saw before I slept my first thought was to outwork those guys every day Shedeur was a phenomenal player in college and he absolutely can be a great player in the NFL He took a lot of hits but always kept coming back and kept playing hard He shouldn’t let where he was drafted affect his goal of wanting to become a starting quarterback on a Super Bowl winning team There’s plenty of stories of guys not being the first choice but being the best choice If you look at the Browns’ quarterback room they should keep Flacco because his experience will be valuable to Sanders and Gabriel When you’re a quarterback in the NFL but Flacco could teach them how to be a pro and help them develop skills so he’ll be a great person to learn from I wish all the success to both Sanders and Gabriel because someone is always going to need a quarterback The Browns may have even picked both because they think someone could trade for one of them down the line Malaki Starks and the Baltimore Ravens are the perfect fit and his attitude will suit that city and team who have a rich legacy of having elite defensive players People may look at Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry and think the Ravens are an offensive team Baltimore is a defensive-minded team and city They love to force their will on teams and win the battle of attrition because they know defense wins championships He’s able to do so many things on the field He’s a great tackler who has great range and can travel from sideline to sideline Adding Starks to a secondary that already has Kyle Hamilton means the Ravens are going to be phenomenal on the back end as they can bail you out because they can do so many different things the pick fits the Ravens’ character and is just a great selection from them They got a great receiver in the 1st Round to add to an already great receiving group They added two cornerbacks and a linebacker (Benjamin Morrison & David Walker) with their next three picks While it’s hard to say if all these picks will work out they definitely did a good job of picking players in positions they needed Baker Mayfield is coming off arguably his best ever year and they managed to restructure his contract while keeping hold of Godwin too I think the Bucs had a great offseason because I watched them a lot and I could see what their needs were and they did a great job filling those needs He had some big wins against teams who were stacked on defense Some of these college teams recently had multiple players getting drafted in the first two rounds and Ewers has played against these players and beat some of them too He’s already played in the spotlight What’s bigger than playing college football as a quarterback in Texas He may be unhappy with being a 7th-round pick but he may actually be in a great situation He’s going to play in Miami where the weather is hot and mostly beautiful They have great receivers in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. A great running back in De’Von Achane. The current quarterback is Tua Tagovailoa, who has missed a lot of time in the last couple of years. So, if Ewers can do well at OTAs, training camp, and in the preseason, he could potentially work his way up to being the backup quarterback at the Dolphins. I hope Tua doesn’t get hurt, and I would never wish that on a player, but if he was to get hurt again, the Dolphins have a player in Ewers who already has experience playing in big moments in big stadiums. Don’t be surprised if Ewers comes in and looks fine. We’ve seen this happen before too. Look at New England in 2001. They had Drew Bledsoe, who was the Pro Bowl franchise quarterback. He gets hurt and the 6th-round pick from the year before (Tom Brady) comes in and plays lights out. He was injured last year, but when he’s healthy, he’s an All-Pro. Sacks, interceptions, big hits, fumbles forced, fumbles recovered…he can do it all. If he can get back to the level he was playing at in 2023, he’ll be the best safety in the NFL. The Bucs offense will put up points, which means as a safety on the other side, you’re going to have the opportunity to make splash plays, like interceptions, while other offenses try to keep up. As a cornerback, it’s hard to go against Sauce Gardner. He’s 6’3”, which means he can be eye to eye with most of the bigger elite receivers in the game. It’s hard to outrun him, and it’s almost impossible to outjump him, so he is the best cornerback in the NFL. To be that big at 6’3“ and still be so fluid with your hips so you can turn and run quickly, that’s incredible. That’s freak athleticism. He reminds me of legendary bigger corners such as Mel Blount and Bobby Taylor. Gardner can follow any receiver around without having to worry about a size problem. This is a true story and was recorded on tape. The night before Super Bowl XXXVII, we were having a team meeting. Once we were finished, I told the team reporter to turn the camera on before telling him that I was going to be the MVP of the game. I had a premonition as clear as day. I saw it all, including getting those interceptions.  The reporter asked why I was so confident in this premonition. When you look at my history in Tampa, I always had a great game against the elite quarterbacks such as Brett Favre and Kurt Warner, who weren’t afraid of our defense.  So, when I realized we were playing against Rich Gannon, I knew he liked to throw the ball vertically, which would give me an opportunity to make some plays. So many other quarterbacks were so afraid of our defense that they would just dink and dunk. So, after taking all that into account, I had a vision that I would be the MVP, and it came true.  Ben Mendelowitz is a digital marketing expert who excels in digital PR across industries like finance, crypto, and iGaming. The pair won three matches to claim the MSHSAA Class 1 Individual District 1 doubles title at Potosi High School. “Lawson is a very good leader for us,” veteran Bearcat coach Kristi Boles said. “He’s always helpful with the younger guys and reminding them that he didn’t start where he is right now.” Blocker really hadn’t played the sport at all until the eighth grade when his knowing the Boles family piqued his interest in the sport. “I had played golf growing up,” Blocker explained. “I had always known (the Boles’s) and I thought that tennis might be something that I liked.” He began to pour himself into the sport and spent time with Boles’ two sons, Peyton and Ryder, working on his game. “I worked hard every day I came on the court,” Blocker said. “It started to show slowly. It’s been a journey.” Boles tested Blocker quickly by having him play varsity at the No. 3 singles spot as a freshman. “Those first couple of years were rough,” Blocker said. “I played No. 3 (singles), which was hard. I played all seniors and juniors, but that experience did more than anything.” Blocker, who teamed with Peyton Boles in winning the District 1 doubles title as a sophomore, paired with Worley this spring. The two athletes also play volleyball together throughout the year. The Bearcat tandem opened District play with an 8-1 win against a duo from Potosi, followed by an 8-5 victory against a pair from North County. Blocker and Worley beat a second doubles team from North County 8-5 in the title match. “I like that it is on you,” Blocker said of handling the pressure of the sport. “You come out here and put in the work and you don’t have to rely on your teammates (aside from doubles’ play). “You can’t blame anyone else; it’s on you.” Blocker said his hours spent honing his serve has made that the strength of his game. During the summers, he not only attended camps at Southeast Missouri State and worked with coaches there, but he would often come to the high school by himself and just hit basket after basket of balls. “It’s on you to come out here, put the work in, and show it on the court,” Blocker continued. That embracing of pressure will come in handy later in life for Blocker. He has plans to attend the University of Missouri in the fall and begin his studies in pre-medicine, with aspirations to work in emergency room medicine at some point. “Stress has been a part of life,” Blocker said, “even in little things, but you have to work through it. There is stress everywhere, so you might as well embrace it now.” The Bearcat team will face Potosi on Monday in the Team District 1 Tournament at Potosi, while Blocker and Worley will continue their quest in the Individual Tournament. No matter how Blocker culminates his career, individually or as a team, he said he owes a lot to Boles for her guidance of all of the Bearcat athletes. “I’m going to remember (former Dexter head coach Eric Boles and current coach Kristi Boles),” Blocker said. “They have pushed us. They show us more stuff than just coaching us. “They support us on and off the court. They push us here, on the court, and in the classroom. together The revival also sees the return of David Zayas as Angel Batista plus cameos from John Lithgow as The Trinity Killer and Jimmy Smits as Miguel Prado Peter Dinklage plays the season’s main showrunner Clyde Phillips returns while fellow “Dexter” alumnus Marcos Siega serves as producing director with Monica Raymund (“Dexter: Original Sin”) directing the other four Based on Jeff Lindsay’s novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter “Dexter” ran for eight seasons between 2006 and 2013 It was revived in 2021 with “Dexter: New Blood.” Hall returned to narrate as Dexter’s inner voice in the prequel series “Dexter: Original Sin,” which debuted in December Marc Menchaca & Reese Antoinette Join “Dexter: Resurrection” John Lithgow & Jimmy Smits Will Return in ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ David Magidoff to Reprise “Dexter: New Blood” Role in “Dexter: Resurrection” Warning: This article contains spoilers for this week’s episode of “The Last of Us,” which is available now to stream on Max The previous episode of HBO’s “The Last of Us“ ended with Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Dina’s (Isabela Merced) arrival in Seattle in pursuit of Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) unaware that they’ve stumbled into an ongoing war between militia group Washington Liberation Front (WLF) and the cult group Seraphites “Day One,“ gives a closer look at the cruelty this intense battle inspires from both sides “What the f*ck is wrong with Seattle?” That question is directly inspired by the aftermath of a grisly scene in which the Seraphites a primitivist cult known for their facial scars and eerie whistles had strung up and disemboweled a group of WLF soldiers with a message referring to their Prophet written in blood It’s a far cry from their introduction last episode which presented a more peaceful faction of their group fleeing the fight for greener pastures only to be ruthlessly culled down by “wolves,“ or the WLF It’s a scene that provides the first indication that the Seraphites are capable of fighting back and just as vicious as their enemy arriving after a key scene that brings one of The Last of Us Part II video game’s characters into the fold in a prominent way In the season two premiere of “The Last of Us,“ as Abby’s group debates where to go now that the Fireflies are gone “Ed has a brother who runs an outfit in Seattle A guy named Isaac.” It’s a casual line one that “Day One“ puts into new focus as it gives a much more thorough introduction to Isaac Dixon a secondary antagonist in the game voiced and motion captured by actor Jeffrey Wright “Day One“ establishes Isaac’s smarts and cunning with a shocking scene of his departure from FEDRA (Federal Disaster Response Agency) as a sergeant in Seattle’s Quarantine Zone by blowing up his armed truck full of soldiers to join the ranks of WLF Isaac hasn’t lost his icy edge at all as he interrogates a chained and abused Seraphite with violence using a scalding pan to coax out answers through blistering pain When that fails to yield answers on the Seraphite’s next plan of attack The series stops there from divulging any more information about Isaac or his motivation but it’s enough to paint a clear picture that Ellie and Dina’s path to revenge will be hampered at every step by a wartorn Seattle That’s evident by the episode’s end where the pair look on in horror as a battle wages on miles away It also establishes to viewers that Isaac’s still-to-be-revealed connections to Abby will create another lethal obstacle for Ellie The silver lining of the episode comes in the aftermath of an intense escape from a Clicker infested tunnel resulting in Ellie getting bitten As Dina tearfully prepares to pull the trigger Ellie is forced to reveal her most closely guarded secret: her immunity Once Dina is satisfied that Ellie is telling the truth she pulls out a confession of her own: her pregnancy “Day One“ lays expansive groundwork for the rocky road ahead with a complex war raging in Seattle and an unlikely duo with all of the odds stacked against them at the center of it SHOWTIME® and Paramount+ Australia today announced the premiere date and teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated original drama series The series
