Sign up for Dispatches to get stories like this one as soon as they are published A Louisiana judge this week set aside the first-degree murder conviction and death sentence of Jimmie Chris Duncan, whose 1998 conviction for killing his girlfriend’s 23-month-old daughter was based in part on bite mark evidence that experts now say is junk science The decision comes after a Verite News and ProPublica investigation in March examined the questions surrounding Duncan’s conviction as Gov made moves to expedite executions after a 15-year pause of the 4th Judicial District in Ouachita Parish pointed to new testimony during a September appeals hearing that such bite mark analysis presented by a once-heralded forensics team is “no longer valid” and “not scientifically defensible.” The original analysis came from forensic dentist Michael West and pathologist Dr. Steven Hayne, whose longtime partnership as state experts fell under legal scrutiny after questions emerged about the validity of their techniques nine prisoners have been set free after being convicted in part on inaccurate evidence given by West and Hayne Duncan was the last person awaiting an execution based on the pair’s work which Sharp said in his ruling appeared “questionable at best.” Other expert witnesses said that Hayne’s autopsy and his findings were “sloppy in practice” and “inadequate overall.” “It is worth noting that the qualifications of Dr Hayne were lacking in certain ways to an extent that called into serious question” the pathologist’s “expert designation,” Sharp wrote in his ruling Sharp also stated in his ruling that he found “very compelling” the September testimony of an expert medical witness who said that the child’s death was not the result of a homicide but of an accidental drowning It remains unclear when — or if — Duncan will walk free district attorney for the 4th Judicial District retry Duncan on the murder charge or a lesser offense or accept the court’s ruling and set him free Tew did not respond to requests for comment Louisiana has a long record of convicting and sentencing to death people later found to be innocent. In the past three decades, the state has exonerated 11 people facing execution, among the highest such numbers in the country, according to The National Registry of Exonerations has maintained his innocence for more than three decades while prosecutors continued to insist that Duncan committed the murder and should be executed without delay He said he had left her alone in the bathtub while he washed dishes he said he heard a loud noise from the bathroom he found her floating face down in the water While Duncan claimed it was a tragic accident authorities charged him with first-degree murder after Hayne and West examined the girl’s body and determined there was evidence she was sexually assaulted and intentionally drowned After about two weeks of testimony in 1998 the jury found Duncan guilty and sentenced him to death Duncan’s post-conviction attorneys uncovered evidence that was not presented at trial that This includes a jailhouse informant who wrote to prosecutors offering to share Duncan’s confession to the crime in what the defense claims was an exchange for leniency (the informant later recanted his trial testimony); past head injuries Haley suffered that might explain her death; and a video in which West can be seen grinding a cast of Duncan’s teeth into Haley’s body which the defense says the forensic dentist manufactured West did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the ruling West has previously said he was simply using what he called a “direct comparison” technique, in which he presses a mold of a person’s teeth directly onto the location of suspected bite marks because it provides the most accurate results, according to a 2020 interview with Oxygen.com West said he no longer believed in bite mark analysis in a 2011 deposition in a different post-conviction appeal “I don’t believe it’s a system that’s reliable enough to be used in court” and admitted to making mistakes in previous cases But he told The New Republic in a 2023 interview that his methods are valid because other people have used them Sharp also noted the September testimony of Detective Chris Sasser no cleaning rags and no cleaning agents” in the bathroom or house where the alleged crime occurred This undermined the state’s assertion that there was “massive blood loss,” the ruling said Sharp pointed to a witness who testified that Scott failed to “investigate or present evidence that was available at the time of the trial,” that he did not “develop a coherent theory of defense,” and that he failed to disclose a conflict of interest Scott’s wife told Verite News and ProPublica that he has suffered significant health problems including memory and speech impairment and declined to comment on the judge’s ruling Duncan is among 55 people on death row in Louisiana though until very recently he and the others were not in imminent danger of being executed as the state hadn’t put anyone to death since 2010 due to the unavailability of execution drugs Landry has made clear his intention to carry out these death sentences as soon as possible having recently approved the use of nitrogen gas a controversial method allowed in only three other states This cleared the way for the state’s first execution in more than 15 years, as Jessie Hoffman was put to death on March 18 using nitrogen gas ProPublica will focus on the areas most in need of scrutiny Here are some of the issues our reporters will be watching — and how to get in touch with them securely Learn more about our reporting team. HIT Consultant Media. All Rights Reserved. Privacy Policy | In the crowded field of the 2026 Republican U.S one candidate stands out—not because of decades in politics but because of his fresh perspective and deep commitment to the values that define the Lone Star State His campaign is built on the pillars of faith and freedom—values he believes are under threat from career politicians and a federal government that has overstepped its bounds As he challenges established figures like Senator John Cornyn and Attorney General Ken Paxton Duncan’s story and vision offer a compelling alternative for voters seeking change Alexander Duncan’s journey to the Senate race is as unique as it is inspiring Duncan made the life-changing decision to move his wife and two children to Texas seeking a state that aligned with his values of freedom and opportunity we love what it represents,” Duncan has said I came because I love this state and what it represents and I just want to protect and defend it now for future generations.” Duncan’s professional background sets him apart from the typical political candidate With 13 years of experience as a police officer he has seen firsthand how policies from Washington affect everyday Americans His work in law enforcement has given him a front-row seat to the challenges of public safety and the impact of federal overreach on local communities Duncan holds a master’s degree in international relations and is a PhD candidate in public policy—a testament to his dedication to understanding the complexities of governance and policy At the heart of Duncan’s campaign is a commitment to three core values: faith are not just personal beliefs but the foundation of a strong America His campaign website boldly declares that these values are “under attack by career politicians and a federal government that’s forgotten its place.” Duncan’s message resonates with conservative voters who feel that traditional values are being eroded by progressive policies and political elites Duncan’s focus on faith is particularly significant in a state like Texas where Christian freedom and the role of faith in public life are deeply cherished He has called for stronger protections for Christian’s expression arguing that faith should remain a guiding force in American society His emphasis on family reflects his belief in the importance of traditional family structures and the need for policies that empower parents his commitment to freedom encompasses both economic liberty—through tax cuts and deregulation—and individual rights including staunch support for the Second Amendment One of Duncan’s key strengths is his status as a political newcomer In an era where distrust of career politicians runs high his outsider appeal is a breath of fresh air Duncan presents himself as a candidate untainted by the political establishment “I’m not a career politician—just an American who’s had enough,” Duncan has stated I’m a patriot who will no longer stand by and watch spineless Republicans betray the People.” This message is particularly potent in Texas where voters have shown a growing appetite for candidates who challenge the status quo Duncan’s criticism of “weak Republicans” and “RINOs” (Republicans in Name Only) taps into a broader frustration within the GOP base especially among those who feel that longtime incumbents like Cornyn have drifted from conservative principles Duncan has been vocal about Cornyn’s support for policies like the Safer Communities Act which he views as a betrayal of Texan values on gun rights positioning himself as the candidate who will stand firm on conservative ideals Duncan’s campaign is not just about critique—it’s about offering a bold vision for the future His policy priorities reflect a commitment to America First principles and unleashing economic growth through tax cuts and deregulation I will champion bold America First policies—help to continue to secure the border and return power to the states and the people,” Duncan has declared His background in law enforcement gives him unique credibility on issues like border security Duncan has criticized current policies and called for stronger measures to protect the state’s southern border His support for the Second Amendment is unwavering he advocates for policies that empower small businesses and reduce the burden of federal regulations arguing that these measures will strengthen families and local communities The 2026 Texas Senate race is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched contests in the nation With Senator Cornyn facing challenges from both Duncan and Attorney General Paxton the primary is a referendum on the direction of the Republican Party in Texas Duncan’s entry into the race adds a new dynamic offering voters a choice between established political figures and a fresh While Duncan faces an uphill battle against well-known opponents with significant resources his campaign has the potential to resonate with voters who are tired of the same old politics His personal story—moving to Texas for a better life and pursuing higher education—paints a picture of a candidate who is relatable and freedom taps into the core values of the Texas electorate while his outsider status positions him as a candidate who can bring much-needed change to Washington In a political landscape often dominated by career politicians Alexander Duncan’s campaign offers a refreshing alternative and his vision for Texas make him a candidate worth watching in 2026 To support his campaign, go to entertainment powerhouse With what one employee called the couple’s “new-kid energy,” they set out to keep all the good parts — like the Wisconsin supper-club decor and vital relationships with a stable of American roots musicians — and improve upon everything else The 100-year-old stage has seen thousands of bands including American roots legends such as Marcia Ball and Clifton Chenier The backdrop was painted in 1992 for a scene shot in the movie “A League of Their Own” the three-building campus in the western suburbs is bursting at the seams with a staggering variety of music a side of BBQ from their restaurant next door and offbeat entertainment like storytelling Its newly renovated free outdoor patio — which just opened for the season and is flowing with live music food and drink — will be a destination this summer the club has 150 musicians and events on the calendar at both the main club and in the Sidebar next door sells out four days of performances by 50 different artists and draws audiences from across the United States But getting here has taken a leap off a cliff of debt some solid hospitality experience and targeted capital improvements but soon after the couple signed the papers on March 15 and Duncan was giving up a fat check and profit-sharing from his employer King worked on a Chicago public school salary To come up with the $1.7 million purchase price they did a cash-out refinancing on their home secured loans totaling about $1 million from the Small Business Administration and coaxed eight investors — friends family and colleagues — to throw in another half-million of equity pregnant with their second child and studying for her master’s in educational leadership she visited their new property for the first time She saw the former owner’s Pritzker ordered all indoor venues closed for COVID-19 protections “We just figured Will would walk in and keep everything going that was already going,” King said She came up with putting bands in the back of a 1984 Chevy pickup and driving around neighborhoods to do truck shows When outdoor gatherings were allowed that summer the two fast-tracked a plan to convert the boat-parking space between the buildings into an outdoor patio “They got very creative and never let it get them down,” retired former owner Bill FitzGerald he poses outside of the club during an expansion in 2002 “It forced us to keep coming up with ideas and hustle and [that] honestly made Fitzgeralds a better place because of it,” King said The patio was converted into a free public gathering place that quickly became one of the club’s most popular features Carpenters just put the finishing touches on a $250,000 pavilion (financed with more business loans) that will keep the sun and rain off and the crowds spending she decided it was time to leave the public schools ditch her salary and benefits and go to work as the venue’s marketing manager “We honestly never thought about failure,” Duncan said King’s engaging photos and social media posts fuel a lively online presence, and she was the driver behind the club earning a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. Besides some possible tax benefits, the owners wanted to send a message that the club was here to stay for another 100 years. Boulevard and Laurens Road on land once owned by the late reclusive textile magnate John D at 1,100 acres and $1.5 billion when completed and we’ve got to make sure to get it right,” said Greenville County Council Chairman Butch Kirven County Square was not thought of as a part of Greenville’s downtown But Falls Park opened in 2004 and Fluor Field two years later planning started for the Swamp Rabbit Trail a 22-mile multiuse trail that opened in 2009 Because the former mall that now houses county operations will be torn down the developer and the county have a wonderful opportunity to design from the ground up professor emeritus of city and regional planning at Clemson University and former member of the city’s planning commission and Design Review Board “They have the opportunity to be creative and efficient and make it an important part of Greenville “Any time you double or triple the density of activities it’s going to strain existing capacities,” he said “They’ll have to have other ways to get there so you don’t have to get in a car They’ll need to think carefully about the back streets They need to make it attractive and feasible to walk with site lines and well-defined walking routes.” who said the city hasn’t had discussions with the developer said the city will be interested in how the development’s design will minimize impacts on traffic The city will also look at other elements like parking The development will likely require a zoning change “There’s no opportunity to back-door anything.” Kirven said County Square is more than an extension of downtown “It’s a test bed to demonstrate how the future looks in an urban environment,” he said “It’s a clean slate where we can design and create a smart urban environment for the future Acceptable survivors recognition ceremony and photo are set for 2:32 p.m Registration is requested but not required “We are excited to be celebrating a significant milestone — the transformation of a challenged piece of property into a beautiful park We still have much to do as we transition from bricks and mortar to a focus on incorporating the creative features and resources that are the essence of our vision — creating a space for hope and healing,” said Kay Roper executive director of the Cancer Survivors Park Alliance As the functions of parks grow more complex public-private partnerships have increased as a funding source Greenville’s Unity Park is an example of many of the current trends in building urban parks — a greater reliance on public-private partnerships the conversion of postindustrial sites into green space and construction of facilities that accommodate fluctuation in water levels to help water quality and flooding issues “Parks are no longer simply places for recreation That’s why public-private partnerships are so important,” said Catherine Nagel “Really where public-private partnerships shine is that they bring in more resources and skills.” While Greenville has been known for public-private partnerships for downtown development projects such as the Hyatt Mayor Knox White said Unity Park is the city’s first example of a true public-private partnership on a park The city has earmarked $20 million in hospitality tax revenue for the new park over 10 years and wants private partners to contribute another $20 million Separate from the city’s fundraising efforts is one led by Community Journals’ chairman and co-founder Doug Greenlaw to raise money for a veterans memorial in the park Greenlaw is a founder of the Upstate charter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart “Public-private partnerships have become a critical funding tool in the toolbox,” said Kevin O’Hara vice president of urban and government affairs for the National Recreation and Parks Association public-private partnerships are good for parks.” Chicago’s Millennium Park was a result of a public-private partnership Mayor Richard Daley originally proposed construction of a parking garage with a landscaped greenroof on land that had been parkland The original plan financing called for $120 million from parking revenue bonds and $30 million from private resources plans for the park had changed drastically A cycle center provides heated bicycle parking There are outdoor art galleries and a promenade and the Pritzker Pavilion that hosts the Grant Park Musical Festival Underneath the park is a 4,000 space parking garage the park was the Midwest’s most popular tourist attraction There’s a wide range of how park public-private partnerships are structured “There’s a real range of public-private partnership models to consider,” she said “The key is to fit the model to your community Some cities have a strong base of philanthropic organizations City Park would also mirror the trend in other cities where postindustrial sites are turned into parks and green space those sites are on waterfronts and riverfronts areas that some cities turned their backs on and became nasty places to which people didn’t want to go a waterfront cargo yard was turned into one of New York’s signature parks The city redirects real estate taxes from residential and commercial developments in the project zone creating a self-sustaining revenue stream that is far less dependent on concessions and permits for special events than signature parks in other major cities “Parks are helping to revitalize cities and put them on the map,” Nagel said “It’s exciting that those projects are not just happening in the largest cities but in medium and small cities as well.” General Motors (GM, Financial) has announced the promotion of Duncan Aldred to President of North American Operations Previously serving as Vice President of Business Growth he scours the internet looking for new items to add to his personal intergalactic museum And Jenkins doesn’t keep his encyclopedic hoard of "Star Wars" memorabilia in a galaxy far far away — it’s in a 5,000-square-foot building next to his Northland home “Over a hundred different countries are represented from art to clothing to household goods to posters and store displays “Just the things that you would think nobody would even save all the way up to the action figures that everybody remembers.” Jenkins was 10 when "Star Wars" hit the movie screens in 1977 He saw it for the first time with his uncle and cousin the first summer it came out was at the time an old-school movie palace in Overland Park No one knew it would become a colossal hit grossing $410 million worldwide during its initial run Jenkins collected his first item in what would become a burgeoning collection: A trading card of Darth Vader’s spaceship “It's a trading card from Wonder Bread,” Jenkins says “It still has my initials where I wrote on it so it wouldn't get lost when I took it to school.” Each card was once tucked into a specially-marked loaf of Wonder Bread Jenkins’ collection has grown into the 2nd-most complete in the world Jenkins requested KCUR not reveal its location.) but I'm somewhere between 150,000 and 200,000 different items that I've been collecting since the beginning,” Jenkins says He admits what started as a hobby slowly became an obsession they were out of room in their original house and the two wanted to find a way to display the collection “There were entire rooms that were just storage of 'Star Wars,' so it was a lot of stuff in boxes and no room to walk,” Jenkins says Many of his friends doubted they could fill the new space we filled it very quickly and have gone on beyond,” Jenkins says “It just was fun to start putting things together and having that come to life was very exciting.” All three levels of Jenkins' museum are covered floor to ceiling with memorabilia multiple museums and covers the gamut of everything that's out there,” Jenkins says I'm interested in everything that is out there for ‘Star Wars.’” “Star Wars” was the first film to successfully license toys to consumers on a large scale. According to the Guinness World Records, the largest collection of "Star Wars" memorabilia is Rancho Obi-Wan Jenkins’ most cherished item is an IG-88 assassin droid turned bounty hunter introduced in “The Empire Strikes Back.” The 15-inch-tall action figure was a wedding gift from his mother and his wife “It was an item that he had been looking for for years and didn't think he would ever find so it was really special to surprise him,” his wife “We had a friend who was also a 'Star Wars' collector and I heard through the grapevine that he owned this action figure.” “I put out some feelers to see if he would be interested in parting with it and persuaded him that it was going to a good home,” she says which opens May 2 at the National Museum of Toys and Miniatures Fans from as far away as Australia and Korea have come to see his collection of X-wing starfighters Jenkins has an entire vintage section of action figures in their original packaging set around three walls, organized chronologically and alphabetically by country — starting with toys from Australia and ending with Ewoks cartoon figures The museum looks much like a vintage toy store but nothing is for sale which occasionally confuses younger visitors “We had an open house and a family was getting ready to leave,” Jenkins says “They asked their little kid if he was ready to go and he said he hadn't decided what to buy.” The parents had to explain it was a museum “He was very disappointed,” Jenkins remembers Jenkins is always on the hunt for the items he’s missed along the way I'm searching through Facebook and I'm searching through different One item he covets is the so-called “Holy Grail” of action figures — the 1979 Kenner Boba Fett, which broke auction records last August The bounty hunter figure featured a plastic rocket launcher that would fire missiles from its backpack When a similar toy from the “Battlestar Galactica” franchise caused a child to choke and die the Boba Fett toy was quickly taken off shelves As for Jenkins’ success acquiring such an enviable collection everybody was collecting everything because there just wasn't as much,” he explains “but as it became just this overwhelming behemoth of stuff and I guess I was crazy enough to keep at it,” he says admitting nostalgia is a big part of his motivation for collecting “Sometimes I'll get a piece and it just instantly takes me back to being 10 years old and just having that awe of the movie again.” Monday - Friday 9am-12pm / 2pm-6pm GMT + 1 All financial news and data tailored to specific country editions On April 24, 2025, Louisiana District Court Judge Alvin Sharp set aside Jimmie Duncan’s first-degree murder conviction and death sentence Duncan was sentenced to death for the 1993 death of his girlfriend’s toddler largely based on faulty bite mark evidence in a decision that came after a September 2024 evidentiary hearing held that expert testimony presented during this hearing demonstrated the bite mark analysis used against Mr Duncan is “no longer valid” and “not scientifically defensible.” Duncan’s 1998 conviction relied on forensic evidence and testimony provided by dentist Dr whose work as state experts has come under scrutiny because of their involvement in wrongful convictions Their testimony has been discredited in numerous cases with nine prisoners — three of them death-sentenced — freed from prison after it was proven that their convictions were based at least in part on inaccurate evidence Duncan was the last person sentenced to death based on their questionable forensic techniques During the September 2024 evidentiary hearing several experts testified to the errors committed by both Dr Lowell Levine told the court that the examination method used by Dr Adam Freeman told the court that the scientific basis of bite mark analysis is no longer valid Duncan and determined that the marks deemed bite marks were not bite marks at all Freeman stated that bite marks are subjective the product of “junk science” and as Judge Sharp notes “scientifically indefensible.” Dr also testified and raised several issues with Dr Bux opined that the cause of death was not a homicide The new expert testimony suggesting the child’s death resulted not from homicide but from accidental drowning was compelling to the court because it supported Mr Duncan has long maintained that he left his girlfriend’s daughter in the bathtub alone while he washed dishes and returned to find her floating face down Duncan received ineffective assistance from his trial counsel who failed to “investigate or present evidence that was available at the time of the trial,” develop a coherent defense theory or disclose a conflict of interest Duncan’s post-conviction attorneys included a jailhouse informant who later recanted his testimony; I continued walking down the street in Granada, where I live, not thinking much of it. Oblivious to the nonfunctioning traffic lights, I arrived at my local deli. The shop lights were off. "Apagón," a frustrated woman behind the counter said. "Power cut." Granadians are famous for being a little grumpy, but this was different; she looked alarmed. In a flurry of Andalucian words, I picked out "No hay luz," which translates to "no power," and "fatal," which is self-explanatory. Although it would be many more hours before I would find out, a power cut had struck all of Spain and Portugal, and hospitals switched to emergency generators. Pedro Sánchez, the prime minister of Spain, declared a national emergency. In the hot deli, delicious cheeses, homemade stews, and expensive meats, usually refrigerated, were sweating and sagging. The card machine wasn't functioning. I found a 2 euro coin in my pocket and bought the last baguette. Walking out to the street, there was an unsettling buzz. Granada is usually peaceful and sleepy, but people seemed on edge. Heading into the local fruit store, I found the same scene: no card payments, lights, or fridge, along with tense shopkeepers and alarmed customers. I used my change from the bread to pay cash for an avocado and hurried home. I Googled what had happened, but a blank screen stared back at me. I tried calling my boyfriend, but I couldn't get through. I knew he was at his office and wondered if he could be trapped inside the electric doors. A latent SMS had arrived: "You ok??" I couldn't reply. No matter how often I switched my SIM card, I couldn't get more than a second of glitchy signal. Another one came through: "This is scary." I sat in my small loft apartment, smearing avocado on untoasted bread. Questions sprinted through my mind: Should I go looking for my boyfriend? How could I contact my clients about deadlines due today? Most importantly, how much of this bread and avocado would I need to save for us for dinner, because there was nothing else and I only had 44 cents left? I was working in London when I met my Andalucian boyfriend about six years ago. I started working as a freelance writer, and over time, we decided we'd have a better life in Spain. We've lived in Granada for a year and a half, and my freelance work hadn't been affected until Monday. Fourteen hours of zero electricity unraveled my income faster than the pandemic, Brexit, or loss of clients. When I heard my boyfriend's keys in the door, I was relieved. He told me the only news was coming from car radios. Sánchez had instructed people to use the emergency services sparingly. Cars were backed up at petrol stations. Together, we walked into the city. Most shops were closed, and their staff sat outside on park benches — if not, they were taking cash payments and writing receipts by hand. The proprietor of a chain of ice cream stores frantically ran between shops as his profits melted down the sides of nonfunctioning freezers. Our big local supermarket was accepting card payments using an emergency generator. Shoppers loaded their carts in a hushed frenzy. Under the fluorescent lights, it felt like something out of "Black Mirror." The fridges and freezers were all closed. Everyone was hunting for food that didn't need cooking or storing in a cold place. Items like bread and candles were long gone, and the canned goods shelves were getting bare. People were also loading up on water and toilet paper as rumors spread that the power cut was a Russian attack and World War III was here. Carrying our bags home, my boyfriend translated conversations he overheard. A competing theory was that the climate crisis was finally striking. As an immigrant with just 44 cents in my pocket and no way to earn an income, I felt increasingly vulnerable. But my boyfriend reassured me, "Andalucians share. Communities look out for each other. We'll be OK." He was right. The panic in the streets was also interspersed with neighbors singing and clapping together. Walking back to our loft, we saw locals meeting in the squares around our block. Where we live in Granada is famously alternative; a few people blasted car radios or brought out guitars. Flamenco jams carried on long into the night, illuminated by car lights. I fell asleep admiring the stars through the open window, more visible than I'd ever seen them in Spain. When the power returned at 2 a.m., I was woken up by the crowd's roar, swiftly followed by my boyfriend flipping the light on. The next day, schools reopened and traffic flowed, almost like nothing had happened. But people looked tired, and many businesses stayed closed to take stock of their losses. Picking up my daily coffee, the barista looked distracted. She told me that she'd been able to save most of her baked goods from the heat but couldn't sell hot drinks yesterday. I'll work this weekend to make up some of the time I lost on Monday, but I am also making changes. A 20 euro note is in my purse, where it will remain as a new emergency fund. Tins of sweet corn, chickpeas, and hummus are also in the cupboard. I am also going to reevaluate my income. At the moment, it's too dependent on the internet. I'm considering offering English lessons or transforming the guest room into a makeshift Airbnb. One thing is for sure: I am not leaving Andalusia. Even at its worst moments, this place offers a sense of community and warmth that no power cut could ever put out. I can understand a lot of fan bases, especially in the Western Conference, not having particularly fond feelings for the San Antonio Spurs and Tony Parker were at the top year after year after year I can relate to that as a Pistons fan. I wanted that 2005 championship. I despised Bruce Bowen. Their commentary team were one of the first, back in the day, that convinced me to start watching games on mute. (Please, just give me a clean arena feed.) The last hurrah of that great nucleus was “The Beautiful Game” team in 2014 and Parker were no longer the athletes they used to be maybe the highest concentration of talent the league had ever seen In charge of all of this was Gregg Popovich and managed not to get fired within five years of that award all three times He was in charge of the Olympic team in 2020 and won a gold medal He’s outspoken with his care and concern for marginalized communities He took his job more seriously than many surrounding him in the NBA space were prepared for He’s basically everything you could want in a coach flanked by his former stars Manu and Tim revealing his title "I'm no longer a coach. I'm El Jefe."- Gregg Popovich pic.twitter.com/FgNGuta1JR Did you know you can make custom shirts on Amazon for only like $12 I had this T-Shirt idea I’ve wanted to make since I was probably 20 that has some clip art of people and a boat then there’s text that says “You You Canoe November 18” and no further detail I wish I could write about stuff like this all the time Popovich is one of the few coaches who have been successful enough and fortunate enough to make a smooth transition from a storied career of coaching to a well-deserved maybe less hectic position with the same franchise Why would you step away if you don’t have to I hope Gregg’s time as El Jefe (President of Basketball Operations) is as fruitful as his time as coach I can imagine there are many other people who feel the
