PA — Customers are up in arms after Montgomery County's newest Pizza Hut location failed to follow through on the promotion they promised ahead of their grand opening ceremony Friday morning
which owns the new location 111 West Germantown Pike in East Norriton and several other spots in Montgomery and Chester counties
said that the first 25 customers in line would receive "free pizza for a year" vouchers
But customers who waited in a lengthy line for the store to open told Patch that employees at the store had no idea about the promotion
a spokesperson for the Flynn Group did not explain why the store was not aware of the promotion
there was some confusion around this morning’s free pizza for a year giveaway at our Pizza Hut location in Norristown
"Our manager is in touch with our guests and is resolving the issue
We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to serving the Norristown community."
Some individuals said they waited for up to two hours or more
the staff knew nothing about this promotion at first
then called the manager who claimed there were only 10 passes," one customer said
many people who also gave up a portion of their mornings were very disappointed
and the remaining customers left their contact information for the store on a sheet
Multiple customers told Patch that they were given the phone number of an individual believed to be the store manager
The Flynn Group provided great detail on their promotion ahead of time, noting that the tickets were good for two specialty pizzas, or two, three-topping large pizzas, per month for one year. They said they are planning an identical promotion at another new Pizza Hut holding a grand opening in Royersford on June 21.
