selections Here’s the full transcript of that interview: executive vice president of player personnel biggest takeaway from the draft on paper when you get these guys on paper “Just the volume of players that we were able to add at spots that we felt could help us and we feel like these guys could come in and help compete and help us get us to where we need to go.” Had a lot of holes to fill starting free agency did that allow you to take maybe best player available when you hit the draft And maybe we’re not just pecking for needs right now and we still have some areas that we look to improve moving forward So we’re excited about the depth that we’ve built and we think it’s going to be good for the fans and good for the team.” You were there on the infamous trip with Mike Vrabel down to Louisiana when he packed his own bag of all his equipment and your number four pick overall knocked him on his butt a couple of times Have you ever been around where a guy knocks the boss on his butt and then you still go and you pick that guy to employ him He’s trying to… With an offensive lineman He’s trying to feel his punch and feel him hit and see what he’s all about we were able to accomplish that when we went to see Will.” I think maybe that’s one of the misconceptions about Will is that he is 21 years old and I feel like he was talked about like he’s some tapped-out prospect I think with some of the technical improvements he can have he’s only going to get better.” After the second round at your press conference there was some really good discussion within the room How much does that help you guys when selecting a player “I think it was great because round one ends and we just set our pieces and it was really productive even though there were some disagreements from a few people that ultimately ‘This is the guy.’ So we were excited to add him there.” and the right kind of kid and super tough.” Each team was allowed 30 visits to bring players in to look at them How much did you learn on those 30 visits to say This is the pick we got to make with these guys?’ I think it’s about… We have a lot of information on these players but it’s really about getting them around our coaches and getting them inside and seeing what they’re all about and hearing about where they come from It’s really productive to get those guys in and see if they can vibe with us.” Ian My expectations were pretty much in line with his — low. I’m a huge fan of Tracksmith. I’ve got five pairs of Session Speed Shorts that rotate between the washer, dryer, and my body, and I practically live in the Brighton Base Layer during winter and the Eliot Runner (Tracksmith’s everyday trainer) was just okay and let’s just say it turned out to be a bit more than we expected ROBBE: Before I say “everything,” let’s just start with the upper I don’t recall having a shoe with a microsuede collar and tongue lining before which is a hard balance to pull off without sacrificing performance or heel slip or lockdown which is truly one of the better race shoe lockdowns you’ll find A lot of race-day shoes trim weight in all places which can sometimes lead to a gaping collar or a loose fit around the ankles The Eliot Racer feels like a more traditional upper fit in that area while locking in the midfoot and forefoot perfectly It’s the exact race-day fit you’re looking for without being too tight The ATPU insert is plenty thick and does a good job of staying put within the shoe The carbon plate is embedded in the Pebax “chassis,” which is one of the more annoying/pretentious terms I’ve heard when describing a shoe And more moving parts mean more broken pieces every run I’d look down at my watch and be surprised I was going 20-30 seconds faster than my average slow pace I feel like the Eliot Racer can easily fall into the super trainer range because it’s great on easy days and would also make for a comfortable yet fast race day option It’s not as light or aggressive as some of the other shoes in the race day category but it can still rise to the occasion when called upon I can’t get over how much I loved the feel of this midsole I also appreciate the full rubber coverage on the outsole Very few race day shoes still have full rubber on the bottom MEAGHAN: I love that Tracksmith stayed true to its brand and put a sash on the shoe (I know Robbe put this in his negatives clean design that fits as great as it looks The step-in feel was way more comfortable than I expected but this shoe doesn’t feel like your typical race-day weapon when you first put it on The Eliot Racer fits true to size and accommodated my wider foot perfectly but one side is lined with tiny rubber nubs to keep them tied — an essential detail for race day ROBBE: I don’t love the gold sash design of this shoe I think that Tracksmith needs to find a way to reinvent the sash or at least relegate it to the Van Cortlandt line I will say — people either love it or hate it I’ve seen everything from retirement home jokes to “gold looks best on race day” type takes There’s a little bit of squeakiness from the foam midsole but I didn’t find it to be egregious or notice it all the time which I’m not fully convinced is a negative is that it’s just not super aggressive when it comes to race day meaning you’re not going to get that super quick turnover or aggressive toe-off you’ll feel in shoes like the Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris it sometimes feels like you could pay the price if you’re running 3:30 and slower the Eliot Racer can definitely work as a race day shoe But if you want something that’s snappy and aggressive you probably want to stick with one of the aforementioned models mainly a big Tracksmith fan or someone who simply has the money to shell out because of its versatility and full rubber outsole I feel like you’ll get your money’s worth out of the shoe I mentioned that I found myself lacing this shoe up on back-to-back days what I didn’t experience was a strong desire to wear it for my 400m and 800m workouts The Elite Racer didn’t give me that “fast” feeling I was hoping for While it’s certainly capable of handling fast runs it felt more like a high-performance trainer than a race shoe It’s fun and bouncy but not particularly aggressive this will be a positive aspect — this shoe will likely feel great over the marathon distance it was missing that certain something — a bit of “pop.” ROBBE: Take away the price tag and this may be my favorite overall running shoe right now but it’s what I would choose to run in every time I go out the door It’s like a premium version of the Adidas Adizero Evo SL and I do mean premium since you can basically buy two pairs of that shoe for the price of the Eliot Racer I had some serious doubts that Tracksmith was going to pull this off but against all odds and development timelines The Eliot Racer may go down as one of the best shoes of 2025 on account of its versatility and performance at any speed and distance MEAGHAN: I really love the Tracksmith Eliot Racer — as a premium super trainer and the full rubber coverage on the outsole adds durability While I likely won’t be using this for race day it will definitely remain a staple in my shoe rotation You can pick up the Tracksmith Eliot Racer for $280 from Tracksmith by using the buttons below and website in this browser for the next time I comment Robbe is the senior editor of Believe in the Run He loves going on two years of renovation See you on the dance floor — if you make it in The value of On Frost and Eliot is sending the reader spinning out of its own text and back to poems by two of the major poets of the 20th century each of whom has suffered from the vagaries of fashion On Frost and Eliot by William H Pritchard’s On Frost and Eliot promised enlightenment I was very much attracted to this book about two eminent poets of their generation with its stated intention on the first page “to establish their differences even as their respective greatness is acknowledged.” I “discovered” Robert Frost at the same time Gregory Corso did and through the publication of Frost’s last book in 1962 Corso represented the radical fringe of Beat literature when he wrote “After Reading In the Clearing:” “Old bard I like you more / now that I know you’re / no Saturday Evening Post philosopher / Nay but such who plagiarizes God.” I was in high school Eliot was all the rage for the “moderately intellectual drips and squares,” as my classmates classified ourselves but at the time didn’t quite get what Pritchard calls “the source of profound wisdom about the chaos of modern civilization.” I found Eliot’s work much more readable The Waste Land became a landmark in my education Eliot led me in directions I hadn’t thought of going before I had not considered Frost and Eliot together On Frost and Eliot does not deliver on its promise It is a pasted-together collection of essays written at different times for different audiences; and with all too much annoying overlap (and I write this as someone who has himself put together a collection of essays written at different times for different audiences and tried hard to minimize the annoying overlap) Frost and Eliot are nowhere brought face-to face (The book’s lack of an index is further evidence of having been unfortunately cobbled together.) The first half is composed of occasional essays about Frost — not just his poems but also his prose and his letters; then follow occasional essays about Eliot in a similar pattern Pritchard ends the assemblage of pieces on Frost with his only reference to Eliot linking “Directive” to “Little Gidding” in a negative way And that is all we get of considering one poet with the other in On Frost and Eliot and establishment of differences are left completely to the reader The Eliot essays focus far more on the poet’s prose than on his verse; and as in the five-page essay “Prufrock Centennial,” he talks around them rather than into them referring to or quoting other critics — Reuben Brower I hazard that my high-school classmates read Eliot more closely Pritchard thinks little of the poems of In the Clearing either in themselves or as a gateway to reading Frost But he does take Frost’s ambiguities and intellectual depth (attributes of any credible god) seriously He pays special attention to the earlier poetry The essay “Frost and Edward Thomas” shows Pritchard at his best in supplying sensitive technical readings and biographical context He even touches on (although he also draws back from I think wrongly) one of my favorite delights in Frost one usually unnoticed by readers: the way a poem implicitly replies in conversation to another poem in this case Thomas Hardy’s “At Castle Boterel.” What Eliot and Frost have very much in common — not mentioned directly by Pritchard but explicit in his writing about each separately — is their emphasis on listening Frost’s “sound of sense” and Eliot’s ability to “cast a spell over the responsive ear.” I grew up with recordings of both poets reading their own works and their voices still sound in my own head when I read their verse Frost’s deceptive folksiness — a fox — and Eliot’s deadpan gravity — a hedgehog They also shared a keen wit and a very deep conversation with tradition There are few poets today who care as much for all three of these qualities Frost’s expansive body of poetry and Eliot’s relative paucity (English novelist and critic Brigid Brophy famously said that Eliot was the only writer to have parlayed himself into being considered a major poet by titling one small volume Minor Poems) Frost’s rhetoric of doubt and Eliot’s of certainty — these and many other points of comparison and contrast I would like to have seen addressed in On Frost and Eliot J. questioned “Because I’m living free all week.” The feud was seemingly ignited last week when Eliot posted several TikToks about Billy and the person he should have married over Sierah The first clip was a jab at Billy and Dave’s podcast appearances followed quickly by an SNL-style sketch where Billy caught Eliot and Jamie at the airport he posted another jab alongside the caption “Crashing out after Billy booked another shirtless appearance at a regional under-18s event.” Eliot posted a whopping five TikToks about Billy and even more about Dave People largely seem to be backing Eliot in the fight with one person writing on Instagram: “Lol stop it I like Billy’s attempt but Eliot’s been living rent free in Billy’s head from the get go he hasn’t stopped mentioning Eliot.” “I know Elliot’s continue to improve the depth of the team and ignite competition here today were those two players you were surprised that they fell and were available when you guys were up It's been some of the chatter that they were steals and when you were able to get them in the draft EW: I think anytime you can get some depth on the defensive line both these guys— Swinson has some pass rush Farmer can rush the passer and play the run We were excited that those guys were still available and we just trusted the board but kind of part of the reason for all the trades just moving up and down the board as we saw fit where the value was Q: What would you say the ultimate goal was here in this year's draft How happy are you with the process and how it played out EW: I'll answer the second part of that first I think it all came to fruition this weekend and I think we were really able to help the team out it was filling some of the holes that we had and increasing the depth and competition on the roster with the right type of people Q: How did you guys do things better this year than you did last year or in years past EW: I just think the whole vision for the team was really good but there was a lot of clear communication between [Mike] Vrabel and our staff as the guys are still working on it right now hopefully they're closing some of these undrafted free agent deals out We just didn't have an organized enough process and Ryan Cowden and Coach Vrabel and Stretch [John Streicher] really came in and helped me organize this I think we're going to have a productive group Q: In Bradyn Swinson's report in The Beast there was a conversation on weaknesses that he butted heads with the coaching staff at various points you don't have to say specifically with him but do you ask the player directly about that or is that something you investigate with the coaching staff first I think we talked to a lot of different sources at these colleges it's something that we'll bring up and try to see how they answer those things when I went to practice at LSU this year as we mentioned with Will Campbell He was really getting after it and that was a good thing because there were some of those questions I left out of there feeling really comfortable with him I was looking at prospect rankings and looking at Kobee Minor the best I could see was Dane Brugler had him as the 127th best cornerback in the draft and why do you think there's a disconnect between your value and the outside value on him Kobee's a guy that our scouts that went into Memphis this year got on early He started his career at Texas Tech and then played one year at Indiana and then actually transferred to Memphis this year so I don't know that he was necessarily on the radar early in the season for some people the ability to play the football in the air He was a guy that we had some affinity for obviously you hear people say most important in the sport Might you be able to share a commitment you might have from someone at this point we're working on some undrafted situations at a lot of different positions right now and a quarterback will be part of that We're definitely expecting to add another quarterback you guys obviously did what you did in free agency and the Draft especially if somebody shakes loose at some point like a major piece that you could add to this team We'll definitely look at different ways to improve the team whether that's trade or someone that might become available later a bit unusual seeing a long snapper as part of the draft class The Patriots have a guy that's been here for a long time Is there a question about Joe Cardona's long-term future with the team What went into the decision to draft the long snapper EW: Julian Ashby was a player that we liked We felt like he was the best long snapper in the draft Through some of the conversations that we had we felt like he might not be someone that would be available post-draft wanting to add some competition to the roster Is there a strategy on when to go in there like looking at other teams that possibly have a similar need there I feel like the special teams community always thinks like 10 kickers are going to get drafted every year It's a key of balancing your value for the player We decided to jump in there with Andres [Borregales] when we did and feel pretty comfortable with that and he was a player that was ranked high on our board Q: I was curious what your outlook is at the nickel cornerback spot with Marcus Jones in the last year of his deal Do you see Kobee Minor maybe factoring in there and what is your perspective on the long term outlook at that spot Kobee Minor is a guy we feel like can play outside and inside I feel like we have some other players on the roster that have that flexibility certainly [Christian] Gonzalez can go in there the big nickel position on early downs is something that we'll see from this defense Read the full transcript from Kobee Day 2 of the NFL Draft Pretty excited about the players that we were able to add to the team Starting last night and continuing on tonight certainly going to look to address the defense Wanted to start out just by saying thank you to the coaches everybody that's sacrificed to make this thing possible the college scouting season is all year long and really bending over backwards for us to watch as many possible players as they can It's just been a really good process with Coach Vrabel and we're excited about the guys we were able to add Q: Can you start by breaking down some of the players TreVeyon Henderson had a great career in high school He's a five-star running back coming out of Virginia we view him as a three-down back and a really good compliment speed to take at the distance anytime he touches it EW: Kyle Williams started his career at UNLV had a really productive junior year when Cam Ward was quarterback there Had the opportunity to visit with him on his 30 visit here and we're excited about what he's going to add from that perspective His athletic ability is really what stands out about him do you anticipate any of these three to challenge for starting roles we see all of them with the ability to come in and compete and everyone's going to come in and have the same opportunity we have some established players at some of these positions but each player is going to come in and we'll see what they can do Q: You mentioned the idea of addressing the defense on day three How do you feel like what you guys did over the first couple days sets you up for day three That's just the way the board was dictated to us there's still some players that we feel can help us moving forward you talked about Wilson having center-guard flexibility could you see Wilson getting a chance to compete at Most of his experience has been at center this past year He was basically the sixth man at Georgia prior to this year so he's got experience practicing and playing at guard there I think center's ultimately going to be his best position Q: I think right now you have 10 receivers on the roster How do you see that in terms of competition I see it as us being able to add depth and strength in the group Stefon's [Diggs] going to be limited as we move through the spring here so we're still going to give those guys as many opportunities as we can the broadcast showed you on the phone with the clock down to under a minute with that 38th overall pick Can you take us through what was happening there on the phone and why you ended up on TreVeyon we didn't feel that the value that was being offered to us was worth possibly losing out on TreVeyon so we just ended up sending the pick in and getting him on the phone with about 58 seconds left there Was that players coming off the board right before your pick and deciding to trade down or having an idea that some of those guys would be available later on that you'd be interested in Some teams that were pretty active there in that third round with teams trying to move around a lot Some of the calls are kind of crazy asking for stuff I feel like a lot of times people just look at their point chart and don't really use common sense at times Q: Will Campbell said he had a meeting with you in week five this past fall What was your experience like when it came to that conversation and the evaluation process through the pre-draft brought Will over and we had a conversation He told me that he really would love to be a New England Patriot and I just assumed at the time that he said that to every scout that came by As some of those conversations continued post-season and seeing him at the Combine and we were locked in on him for a long time his wingspan would be a bit of a historical outlier at that position and did that give you any pause at any point during the evaluation process I think we only started measuring wingspan like 10 years ago and some of his unique athletic ability and ability to bend and extend Even though he doesn't have that long wingspan he's pretty polished for an offensive lineman so we just kept coming back to the tape and seeing those things and didn't think they affected him too much hard not to notice the level of athleticism you added through the four picks tonight How important was that as you looked at your roster last year realizing you had to get faster and more athletic It probably doesn't matter as much for the offensive lineman unless there's a turnover I think we both expected those guys to run faster so I think their play speed is really what stands out about them you talked about taking the best player on the board in certain parts of the draft Is that the case for TreVeyon because going in running back might not have necessarily been a need per se We just felt like his ability to – it's a deep draft for running backs There's still some guys up there that we feel could help us but just his ability to be a threat and make huge plays was something that stood out with him versus the rest of the class how much did that appeal or factor into his evaluation His ability to win off the line with his releases and accelerate his ability to stem guys at the top of the route there's still some things that he could work on and clean up which I'm sure Todd [Downing] and Josh [McDaniels] will work with him on but that was something that stood out to us throughout the process how much does his leadership and his maturity factor into the evaluation we feel like all four of the guys we drafted are good people That's obviously an emphasis moving forward getting the right type of people in to fit the culture but the time we spent with him was pretty good TreVeyon said he had kind of limited contact with you guys before the draft What goes into that evaluation when you maybe haven't met with the player as much personally I feel like TreVeyon maybe forgot one of the meetings because Coach Downing met with him at Ohio State maybe he wasn't wearing his Patriots shirt and obviously we have ample connections with Ohio State We have a really good relationship with those people over there this was a great year to have those connections with them winning the national championship and obviously the number of players that are going to be drafted from there does that allow Cole Strange to go back to the left guard where he started or do you still see him competing at the center position we see versatility as the name of the game here he got that great experience at center last year so we feel like he can compete at both spots when you look at your depth chart at this point and obviously these guys have to get in the building and everything like that but it looks like you've addressed just about every need in this – from defense in free agency to offense that you guys have been successful in sort of getting together a team that can compete tomorrow if they had to and that's something that we came up short with last year I still think there are a bunch of areas that we can add depth to that we feel like we need to shore up a little bit I think he only had one year's experience as starting center what was it about him that really stood out that made you kind of want to go for him and take him so I think your point about playing one year is kind of maybe what we liked a little bit the trajectory for him to have the success he had this year as a first-year starter especially with his unique athletic ability whether this was a trade or a pick you made EW: The hardest decision tonight was what to eat I wasn't real excited about some of the choices in there there were some really good conversations before our first pick with Coach Vrabel Just there was a little bit of a debate about who we were going to pick one of the players we were talking about got drafted but I think it was a really good step in the right direction just for us working together in our relationship as co-workers because we have to have productive disagreements for this to work We can't just agree on everything; we can't just acquiesce to each other on something so I think it was really productive from that standpoint Q: Was there a worst trade offer for you guys EW: I would say there were more trade offers tonight than I would say was normal there were some that were just kind of like I'll call you right back,' and there were a couple that we're just like Q: Were there any thoughts of moving up the board to snag someone that you had targeted they were probably saying the same thing that I just said about us 'That's not enough,' but it ultimately just didn't work out in that fashion they've won national championships and been on national championship rosters Is there something to be said about guys winning championships and bringing that in here I think it's winning championships and also the pedigree of some of these guys even Washington State played some big games I think it gives – these guys come in a little bit more ready maybe than some guys from some other schools Q: Do you feel you've gravitated toward the offensive side of the ball because you think they can directly support Drake [Maye] Is it easier to pull the trigger on maybe an offensive player versus a defensive player at the same spot sometimes it's just how the board works out but we're drafting with our current roster in mind maybe the running back position wasn't a top need but it was certainly somewhere – we wanted to add speed to the roster so here's a fast guy that plays running back that can really help us but what's the reaction to seeing Shedeur Sanders still on the board I had the opportunity to watch him play against Oklahoma State this year so it maybe wasn't the best game to look at But it was interesting to see that he's still available and I'm sure there's going to be a fit for him here tomorrow you said that despite him being a little bit undersized What is it about him that you think he can do that He's not a grinder between the tackles power runner He has good feet and obviously has the speed to run outside so we just feel like he has that toughness and versatility Q: You mentioned defense as a focus tomorrow Do you feel like you're prepared to go up and target specific players and position with that extra capital that you have so I wouldn't imagine we'll go up from there we have some flexibility to maybe go up if the board kind of dictates that there's someone that we can't live without Read the full transcript from Eliot Wolf's press conference do it all super shoes have ushered in a running renaissance “supercritical” foamed spaceships let us run faster But there’s a dark side to this brave new world that no one has addressed—until now shoe brands have felt compelled to make their super shoes as neon Brace yourself to do it in pink leopard print If the super shoe market is filled with ridiculous Lamborghini Veneno Roadsters (look it up) the Tracksmith Eliot Racer is a Bentley Continental GT Peel back the classy exterior and you’ll find a high-tech the Eliot Racer rises to the challenge for a wide range of applications over many I’ve been running in the Eliot Racer for over a month now to see if it performs as beautifully as it looks—everything from track sessions Weight: 7.7 oz (218 grams) for men’s size 9 Available on March 14 at Boston, Brooklyn, and London Trackhouses Available for try-on and order on March 14-15 at the LA Marathon Envoy Pop-Up Available online on March 18 here which feels about as similar to the Eliot Racer as it looks that’s where things get a little provocative Here are my biggest takeaways about the Eliot Racer: Removing the Eliot Racer from its suave canvas shoe bag, the first thing I noticed is that these shoes are pretty. Like an even more chic Eliot Runner in the words of my college teammate Ashley Higginson medaled multiple times on the national stage in the steeplechase And like everything Tracksmith makes, even the looks aren’t just about the looks. Yes, the gold sash matches the Strata race kit perfectly But it also connects directly to the carbon plate and bottom layer of Pebax foam serving the dual purpose of providing this distinctive Tracksmith branding mark while also locking down the midfoot The next thing I noticed after putting on the Eliot Racer that it’s surprisingly peppy for such an understated silhouette The Eliot Racer doesn’t have that in-your-face (or should I say feet) trampoline-like feel of You will not terrorize your training partners with a “Slap What exactly are you missing out on without that supreme trampoline-like feel The jury is still out on how much of that type of spring translates from perception to performance Tracksmith says that third-party testing with Heeluxe found that the Eliot Racer was in the top five percent for energy return for any shoes the lab has tested the major shoe companies have their own labs so take this comparison for what it’s worth.) We already mentioned the removable ATPU drop-in midsole that sits on the carbon plate and bottom layer of Pebax foam (Remove the midsole for some words of inspiration thoughtfully printed underneath.) By eliminating the traditional sockliner and the lasting board (which is a thin mesh with a central cutout) Tracksmith says it’s able to maximize cushion depth while staying comfortably below the World Athletics 40mm heel height limit the stack height is quite a bit higher than the visible Pebax layer suggests once again lending to the classic silhouette.) The combination of these two foams with no glue to add weight and get in the way lends to the responsive and soft feel I felt underfoot while minimizing weight I’ve found the Eliot Racer feels fast while I’m up on my toes at 5K pace and also while striding out at marathon pace which is shaped a bit like an exponential curve kicking in a little later than the ball of the foot This allows for a delightfully stable stance while your foot sinks into the thick foam before rebounding with a quick roll This rocker shape helps make the shoe exceedingly comfortable at a wide range of paces I think runners who feel like they’re wallowing in some super shoes with an earlier rocker will be thrilled with the more gentle rocker here the Eliot Racer uses high quality materials that are durable That’s reflected in the translucent and breathable (yet surprisingly resilient) upper and the suede-like that means that Tracksmith has foregone engineered mesh—the gold standard for super shoe uppers these days (I promised you this would get a little provocative at some point!) This may be a deal-breaker for some who are unwilling to compromise on weight and fit: Sure And durability is one place where Tracksmith has decided to carve its own lane Tracksmith didn’t skimp on the rubber underfoot making this an excellent do-it-all super shoe for track sessions My pair still feels like it’s at the beginning of its life exposed counter (where the stay runs vertically on a stiff heel cup) would rub my heel I’m delighted to report a total absence of rubbing—not even a little bit in my own testing the shoe can feel a little sloshy in the ankle rounding sharp turns I’ve found the Eliot Racer fits like a glove with an amply wide toebox to let your toes breathe and your feet work I raced in it after one light track session with no issues It also helps that the Eliot Racer fits true-to-size (hallelujah) This may seem like a “duh,” but I am so sick of ordering super shoes in my normal shoe size only for them to be far too small I’m going to use answering that question as an excuse to grandstand for a second Gone are the days when amateurs wanted to emulate the look of the professionals Why spend your hard-earned dollars on apparel and shoes that pros not only receive for free Shoe companies quite literally make their pro athlete kits as loud and as branded as possible to maximize exposure—there is no reason for you to give them free marketing and loud colorblocks are out; understated elegance is in And Tracksmith has helped cultivate this mindset shift by pioneering a classy alternative with its apparel Being an “amateur” runner is once again a badge of honor These are the people who carve out time from their industrious lives to dedicate themselves to their craft These are the people who understand it’s worth investing in quality running gear that will last you for years Now you can embody that aesthetic head-to-toe on race day And so, yes, the Tracksmith Eliot Racer is for—what did my boss Chris call us?—“twee” northeasterners,” but it’s also a versatile and durable super shoe for runners of all speeds It’s for runners who want just one shoe that can do it all for many And it’s for all the dedicated runners out there who want to look as classy on the roads as they do off of them On Cloudboom Strike These days, the drama on Married At First Sight Australia is rarely confined to the show itself but some of the behind the scenes gossip has already found its way onto social media and it involves some husband and wife swapping At the start of this season, Jamie Marinos was matched with Dave Hand, and Eliot Donovan married Lauren Hall. Sadly, in both instances, it wasn't meant to be. Both Eliot and Lauren went on to marry other people on the show, for Eliot that person was Veronica Cloherty The couple called it quits during the sixth commitment ceremony ‘He didn’t really give me anything… It was like drawing blood from a stone with Eliot.' Meanwhile with many fans querying if something was going on between Dave and Veronica Talk about love triangles (or squares) now everyone is wondering if there is something happening between Jamie and Eliot Former MAFS Australia cast members Eliot and Jamie have been spotted 'getting cosy' on a number of occasions recently they were spotted at a nightclub in Surfers Paradise In one clip doing the rounds on social media they appear to be partying together before making a heart shape with their hands Fully aware of the endless speculation about whether they are dating Jamie and Eliot shared a jokey TikTok where Jamie scrolls through her phone and says 'There are pictures of us together in Queensland 'How would [the media] even know?' Eliot then shared another clip where he can be seen laughing with his arm around Jamie with the caption 'God forbid I don't hate the girl.' They later staged a skit where their dog used its paw to dial a journalist to reveal their whereabouts and another one where Jamie decides to call Eliot back once he's hit 200k followers on TikTok Jamie and Eliot might not have confirmed that their romance (yet) but they are definitely enjoying the rumours apparently the duo spent the night together in Sydney after Daily Mail Australia's reunion party – something that jumpstarted the romance rumours Jamie's former on-screen husband was asked about her new flirtatious friendship on Instagram and simply wrote: 'Honestly 'But I highly doubt she's going to sleep with three cast members from this year's season Instagram thing – whatever they're doing Eliot and Jamie then shared another date of theirs on social media in response to a fan commenting 'Dave did in fact care' 'We're in this together,' while he wrapped an arm around Jamie's shoulders as they prepared to go on a roller coaster ride They have also been pictures at the Ovolo Hotel in Woolloomooloo – so they are definitely a future couple for MAFS fans to have on their radar They did seem to build a strong connection during the show Both Dave and Veronica have stated that their connection was platonic and that they were not involved in a romantic relationship This year's Final Vows are aired in the 37th and 38th episode of the season which are set to air on Channel 4 on Monday 5th and Tuesday 7th May. INDIANAPOLIS - Eliot Wolf took to the podium at the NFL Scouting Combine on Wednesday speaking with the media for the first time since last season and providing his insight on what went wrong in 2024 and how he and the scouting department plan to improve the team with better results under a new coaching staff in 2025 "It's been really cool and rewarding so far working with Coach Vrabel," said Wolf who is attending his 31st combine overall and second with the Patriots "He has a lot of great ideas and vision for the team an effort that we're all working together." the Patriots made a slam dunk selection at third overall in Drake Maye but saw mixed results from their free agent and rookie classes that couldn't keep the Patriots from picking in the top five for a second year in a row Wolf took responsibility for the personnel misses in 2024 "During this process last year just didn't get enough done the free agency class didn't live up to our expectations but we were expecting a bigger impact from some of those guys and we're still hopeful that they'll get to that point for us." Wolf highlighted second-round pick Ja'Lynn Polk as one 2024 rookie that the team believes can get on track in 2025 I think that really kind of stunted his career a little bit and he's going to continue to work hard and rehab and do the things that are necessary Caden [Wallace] was progressing then he got hurt Layden [Robinson] probably played a little bit more than we had expected when we drafted him the receivers didn't have the production that we had hoped for when you do watch practice and you do talk to these guys and sometimes for whatever reason rookies just aren't ready to go but we're hopeful that they'll continue working and get to be productive." Patriots Executive Vice President of Player Personnel Eliot Wolf addresses the media on Wednesday With free agency just a couple of weeks away the Patriots are flush with cap space and draft capital But as more and more potential free agent targets re-sign with their teams or land elsewhere even the best-laid plans at this point in the offseason will require contingencies also adding the scouting department needs to be more thorough in their vetting processes And I just think it's about keeping your options open "There's only so many elite free agents and there's probably 27 teams looking at those guys we feel like we're a more attractive destination this year than we were last year We're excited to fill the roster out and get to where we need to be so we can use [the fourth-overall] pick on the best player." While the fourth overall selection will get most of the attention in the coming two months Wolf sees a draft that has good depth in the mid-rounds specifically in the defensive front seven and at the running back and tight end positions "I think this draft is probably a little meatier in the middle than it is at the top in a lot of ways," said Wolf but throughout the rounds that can help us." The defensive linemen and linebackers took to the podiums on Wednesday kicking off four straight days of interviews with the media which also include the defensive ends and edges are among the deepest and most talented in this year's draft and there are plenty of players that could be intriguing fits for the Patriots defense Penn State defender Abdul Carter was among the most popular players to speak on Wednesday and confirmed that he had already met with head coach Mike Vrabel and the Pats It might be a long shot for the Patriots to expect him to fall to fourth overall many mock drafts project Carter to go first overall Going to the Titans as the number one pick of 2025 is a goal that Carter confirmed he had in mind "I feel I'm the best player in the country," Carter told NBC Sports "I thought he was a cool guy," said Graham of his meeting with Vrabel and staff They were just asking me about me – what makes me It was just a fluid conversation and getting to know each other Vrabel told Patriots.com that getting in-person facetime with the prospects is the most valuable part of the combine Another notable prospect that confirmed meeting with the Patriots was wrecking-ball edge player Nic Scourton from Texas A&M Scourton is one of a handful of edge players behind Carter who should make an immediate impact for the NFL team that selects them along with fellow Aggie Shemar Stewart and Ohio State's Jack Sawyer All have different specialties and developing parts of their games but whatever NFL teams are looking for this spring they should be able to find it among this year's defensive front prospects A potent duo from Georgia also were present on Wednesday both already appearing to have the polish of NFL veterans Mykel Williams and Jalon Walker will both be first-round picks and it's easy to see how they could slot into the Patriots defense Williams registers more in the mold of a defensive end while Walker is an off-the-ball chess piece who told reporters he can play just about any position behind the line of scrimmage Whether it's big space-eating defensive tackles athletic off-the-ball linebackers or stout edge players there's a lot to love about these first position groups to kick off the combine Thursday night's on-field testing and measurements should only continue to push many of them up draft boards across the league Watch this exclusive interview with Patriots Executive Vice President of Player Personnel Eliot Wolf at the 2025 NFL Combine Wolf talks about his 31st year at the combine the Patriots offseason plans for free agency DISCLAIMER: The views and thoughts expressed in this article are those of the writer and don't necessarily reflect those of the organization. My second one, step back, like we can argue the picks, that's fun, that is a good part of this, but just look at the numbers, 11 draft picks, 17 undrafted free agents, 31% of the roster rookies. Your Patriots have gotten really, really young overnight. I think that's really interesting with what's happening down there. And then my third point is maybe a more of a critical one. A lot of praise for the draft Beetle. I heard you talking A pluses, all this. I wouldn't go that far. Download the app to LISTEN LIVE wherever you are and connect with us like never before! It started with a new head coach in Mike Vrabel to arrive with an unbiased view of the team and restore order within it accordingly The New England Patriots needed a complete and total reset heading into the 2025 season This was an impressive offseason by the Patriots led by Vrabel’s blueprint and the collaboration of his staff Vrabel comes to New England with the experience of being a head coach and with the knowledge of how to run a team He created a coaching staff that is well-equipped and will help him guide the team in the direction he wants to go: Vrabel also pushed for Ryan Cowden to be hired as the Vice President of Player Personnel whom he previously worked with in Tennessee where he held the same role and served well for Vrabel Vrabel cleaned the roster by parting ways with most of the players left who were part of Bill Belichick’s coaching regime This includes players who’ve spent their entire careers in New England Vrabel came to New England with a plan already in mind on how to retool the team It started with upgrading the defense by adding veterans who have already played for Vrabel or other members of his coaching staff The players previously coached by Vrabel include linebackers Harold Landry III Cornerback Carlton Davis previously played for Terrell Williams last season for Detroit who is now the defensive coordinator in New England this season has previously played for both Vrabel (Tennessee) and Josh McDaniels (Las Vegas) They also added free-agent wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins Adding players who have previous experiences with the coaching staff is important when it comes to building a culture and it’s something that Vrabel has mentioned doing since he first took over as head coach Having players who already know what the expectations are and how things should be done is essential for a rebuilding team with a new coaching staff Following Vrabel’s blueprint, the plan was to add to the offense and enhance second-year quarterback Drake Maye through the Draft. In doing so, the Pats drafted the top offensive tackle fourth overall with Will Campbell The following three selections were all for offensive needs still with the goal of surrounding Maye with weapons: running back TreVeyon Henderson In addition, the Patriots drafted another offensive tackle in the seventh round with Marcus Bryant out of Missouri The first defensive selection didn’t come until the fourth round of the draft which proves that Vrabel is true to his word on adding weapons and protection for Maye It’s important to keep in mind that the Patriots drafted the players they targeted and had already invested time and resources in the Patriots had contact and met with all of them They targeted their players and went and got them It's worth mentioning that the Patriots traded up to draft defensive tackle Joshua Farmer in the fourth round Farmer received his first college scholarship to play at Florida State from Patriots defensive line coach Clint McMillan Continuing on with a great haul from the NFL Draft, the Patriots signed 19 players as undrafted rookie free agents This gives another perspective on what the team is looking for in terms of talent and play style The undrafted free agents feature a lot of offensive firepower from players who went to smaller schools but still have the production and skills to try out in the NFL Some of those names are wide receiver Efton Chism III (120 rec.,1,311 yards running back Lan Larison (284 car.,1,465 yards These are all prototypical players that have worked in the system before, and they’re the style of player that is needed in a Josh McDaniels offense the Patriots navigated the Draft in an organized and methodical way with a clear plan with countermoves to adjust accordingly when it was needed— that can’t be said for the last handful of drafts said that he’s been told by people inside the organization that this was “Eliot Wolf’s draft” #Patriots writer Fred Kirsch said that he was told this was Eliot Wolf’s draft, he had total command of the room and isn’t going anywhere:“I’ve also heard insiders say Eliot Wolf did an amazing job with this draft, that he ran that room. … I’m told Wolf ran that draft.” pic.twitter.com/PcLNWhUM23 This was interesting to hear because it was believed that Vrabel would make the final decisions regarding the team especially since he brought in his own VP of Player Personnel with Cowden while the previous one is still involved in Wolf However the tasks are being delegated in Foxborough it’s worth noting that it was Wolf who made all of the phone calls to inform the player that they were drafting them I’d say we learned that there is an equal collaboration between Vrabel and his coaching staff with Wolf © 2025 Minute Media - All Rights Reserved Betting and gambling content is intended for individuals 21+ and is based on individual commentators' opinions and not that of Minute Media or its affiliates and related brands ","https://fansided.com/",{"alt":"71","src":"72","url":"73"},{"type":"70","value":"74"},"link","Minute Media","https://www.minutemedia.com/",{"text":"77","url":"78"},{"type":"76","value":"79"},"All Rights Reserved Betting and gambling content is intended for individuals 21+ and is based on individual commentators' opinions and not that of Minute Media or its affiliates and related brands Justin attended Nichols College where he first began sports writing in his courses and working in the Sports Information Office He covered the Bison’s football team and updated live box scores for various home games on The Hill He then began covering Boston sports in 2018 Justin enjoys time with his dog and family while also studying the history of the Celtics Following Vrabel’s blueprint, the plan was to add to the offense and enhance second-year quarterback Drake Maye through the Draft. New England has papered over many weaknesses entering Mike Vrabel's first season in charge Wolf didn't get into talks but noted they wanted to get a closer look at the receiver who is coming off a season-ending knee injury "We feel really excited about the some of the names that we've added We still know there's a lot of work to be done," Wolf said "We're just really excited to be able to go into the draft not forced to pick something." Competent teams lean on taking the best player available Poorly managed teams take lesser players to fill holes -- it rarely works out well most clubs will side with the one that better fills a gap The Pats might not be forced to pick something but landing a left tackle remains a priority To ensure Maye's future isn't characterized by getting pummeled they must solidify that position in the Undergraduate House Renewal Program Eliot students will be housed in the former Inn at Harvard and Harvard-owned property above businesses in Harvard Square as the main Eliot dorms are renovated Unlike the ongoing Adams House Renovation project which has been completed building by building Eliot’s renovation will not happen in phases the building will be renovated all at once over the course of two years “The entirety of Eliot House will be closed for the duration of the renewal,” Borgasano wrote Eliot House was one of the College’s seven original houses It will be the seventh house to be restored as part of a larger effort to renovate all 12 of Harvard’s undergraduate houses According to Borgasano, the Eliot House Renewal’s design phase will conclude this winter before the Harvard Corporation — the University’s highest governing body — approves the plan construction is “anticipated to commence in June 2025” and conclude by Fall 2027 Architecture firm Kieran Timberlake will lead the project after the conclusion of the Adams House renewal Kieran Timberlake also completed restorations of Leverett House’s McKinlock Hall helmed the Adams House renewal project after renovating Winthrop House in 2017 the Eliot renovations will include new doors and windows Interior changes include “reconfiguration to address accessibility code and privacy issues and to provide updated social and academic spaces,” Borgasano wrote Borgasano declined to comment on whether Eliot House would continue to use dorms on Prescott Street as overflow housing once the renovations are complete She also declined to comment on the project’s expected cost For the Adams renovation project, Harvard’s expected costs rose by 12 to 14 percent after construction began in fall 2019. After several delays the Adams House Renewal is expected to conclude this year Harvard is optimistic the work can be completed in two years the Eliot Faculty Deans and architects met with residents to assess student opinion about the building upgrades Several students said the House’ layout around the main courtyard was important to maintain Morrissey ’26 said he liked “how everyone has to walk through the courtyard — how the dining hall is easily accessible to everyone in the house.” “I hope they don’t downsize the rooms further than they are to add hallways and stuff,” he added Audrey Gunawan ’25 also said she had come to see the house’s dining hall as a central part of Eliot living “Something that’s very important to Eliot is the fact that there’s a centralized courtyard and the dhall sits at the front of that when you’re coming into the house,” Gunawan said “Having open swipe pretty much all the time makes it really easy for everyone to bring their friends here and kind of create a community.” Bonia ’27 added that the project should not “lose the charm” of the house’s ornate dining hall “It’s one of the major hangout spots for a lot of people in Eliot,” she said But the renovation plan will also mean a serious shift for Eliot students all of whom have to leave their courtyard and dining hall next fall None of the building’s current residents will return to the main Eliot campus before their expected graduation Patton ’26 said he is not looking forward to “senior year without a house.” “I’m kind of anxious about the idea of having our community be so decentralized and so spread out,” Patton said Elmer ’98 wrote in a statement to The Crimson that he and fellow faculty dean Bonnie M Talbert have “been delighted to spend a good deal of time this fall getting to know as many members of the Eliot community as we can.” “The most common theme we have heard is that Eliot residents love the House,” Elmer wrote “Students want the House to retain a distinctively ‘Eliot’ character.” —Staff Writer Michael R. and rehearsing sight reading music with a few friends,” he said you would destroy its opportunity to be a part of the House life and be a part of the Eliot community,” he added One of the main priorities of the renovations which are set to begin immediately after Commencement The University will install elevators in the building The Tower Room will most likely be converted into a two-floor student suite because elevators cannot access its elevated location The new Bernstein room will adjoin the library on the second floor “The windows in the current Tower Room don’t have a view of much except brickwork so I think it’s a better location and it’ll be a larger space,” he said “It’ll be better in a more frequently used site for that piano.” The removal of the concert grand piano will require the use of large pieces of equipment and structural work to the building “Spring break is the latest possible opportunity to remove the piano before Commencement and the construction phase on the building,” Elmer said Elmer also said he recognized the value that the Bernstein piano and the Tower Room hold for musicians “There’s definitely a set of students who really enjoy playing that piano where you do feel that you're sitting above the tumult of the house below I’m sorry that the piano has to be brought out before the end of the year,” he said “I do feel that the new space is going to be much nicer as either by playing it or by being in the audience for a performance,” he added 0.97);}@media transparency and contrasts to reveal images which ‘modernise’ Brahms’s symphonies … [He] dusts off many years of tradition … and views this cycle from a new perspective as a kind of bridge linking Beethoven or Schuman with the future” (Platea Magazine reviewing the May 2023 Amsterdam symphony cycle) conductor John Eliot Gardiner embarked on a two-season focus on the music of Brahms with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra They gave a series of acclaimed concerts at the orchestra’s Amsterdam home each featuring one of the symphonies juxtaposed either with one of the piano concertos or with a selection of choral works they brought the project to a triumphant conclusion by performing the complete symphonies over two evenings in Amsterdam Deutsche Grammophon is delighted to present an album featuring all four symphonies captured live at the Concertgebouw between September 2021 and January 2023 Johannes Brahms – Complete Symphonies will be released digitally and as a 3-CD set on 2 May 2025 will be available to stream or download from 28 March Gardiner first recorded the Brahms symphonies with the period-instrument players of the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique almost two decades ago Explaining his decision to re-record the cycle “I sensed a need and a personal challenge to build on that seminal earlier experience and to extend its findings and interpretations to/in working with a modern instrument orchestra – especially such a distinguished flexible and immensely accomplished one as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra – in search of a fresh synthesis of styles and approaches.” Brahms famously took many years to complete his Symphony No so aware was he of the daunting example set by Beethoven Having premiered the majestic First to huge success in 1876 he went on to write three further monuments of the genre – the Second was first heard just a year later Gardiner and the RCO explored these four strikingly different works in enormous depth and detail bringing out not only their variety but their close links with Brahms’s choral music (an area the conductor describes as his “pet hobby-horse”) Their readings were widely praised for their radiance and vigour – this last despite the fact that Gardiner marked his 80th birthday in April 2023 “The symphonies of Johannes Brahms are much loved by musicians and audiences worldwide and form part of the core repertoire of any symphony orchestra These live recordings provide us with the opportunity to relive John Eliot Gardiner’s fresh and lively interpretations of these timeless masterpieces.” They
