annexation and rezoning to allow a large-scale Pickleball Facility at 4272 Thurmond Tanner Parkway Lewis Halski with Around The Pickle, LLC said they will build both indoor and outdoor facilities on the tract of land.  “We are going to have 18 indoor courts and 12 outdoor courts,” Halski said “It will be ideal for tournaments because it's nice to play some outdoor (games) for your tournaments but the weather does not always cooperate." Halski said they chose to build in Flowery Branch because the area lacked indoor Pickleball facilities “We are all from around the area in Hall County and number two, there's no indoor facility at all and then there's not a lot for pickleball tournaments and ladders and clinics and lessons and we plan on providing all of that.” They plan on breaking ground on the facility sometime in February and hope to have the facility open by late summer or fall of this year Halski added that they chose to build the facility on Thurmond Tanner because of its proximity to Interstate 985 we are just right across the interstate from the (Atlanta) Falcons,” Halski said “I think it's pretty central for folks that are in Buford that don't want to deal with the traffic, and all the way up to folks as north as you can get because there's nothing else up this way for indoor Pickleball.” Once the facility is open they will offer team-building opportunities for companies “Companies around the area can come and rent some of the space and the time and be able to do sort of like a breakout session to talk about whatever their product or their message is, and then can play some pickleball,” Halski said "It will be something else for Hall County companies to come and do and build teamwork.” The final vote for the facility will be held on Feb For more information or to contact Around The Pickle click here announced that he would not seek re-election at the city council meeting Thursday night Post 5 Councilman Oliver McClellan announced that he would seek the position and Asbridge gave his support to McClellan and I will be throwing my support behind Oliver McClellan,” Asbridge said.  Before being elected mayor in 2021, Asbridge served as the Post 2 councilman — Flowery Branch Athletic Director Jimmy Lawler announced Thursday that former East Hall and current Union County coach Michael Perry will be the Falcons'  next head football coach, pending Hall County School Board approval “We are so excited to bring in Coach Perry to lead our program," Lawler said "He has had success everywhere he has been and he knows how to mold his players in to better athletes Perry led Union County the past four seasons compiling a 23-22 record and winning two state playoff games the most by any coach in Panthers' history. Prior to Union County Perry coached two seasons at East Hall (6-12) and spent two seasons Centennial in Fulton County going 15-8 with a pair of playoff appearances "Being a Hall County native I could not be more excited," Perry said "Flowery Branch has great tradition and is an exceptional school I feel honored to be named the head coach there."
