Benisseur Quest - Pouring Chroma into the Red Woods Fountain
Killing the Benisseur after completing this quest will not prevent you from completing the Aiding the Enemy Trophy or Achievement when you visit Blanche in The Fountain region
But if you were cruel and slayed the Side Quest Nevrons
defeating Blanche can earn you 10x Colour of Lumina and 2x Grandiose Chroma Catalyst
you can even return to Red Woods portal to kill the Benisseur after collecting the 100 Colour of Lumina to earn 3x Colour of Lumina and 1x Grandiose Chroma Catalyst
or simply survive the bubbles long enough to tire out your opponent
at which point he'll die from exhaustion
Once the Benisseur has tired itself to death
you'll earn 3x Colour of Lumina and 1x Grandiose Chroma Catalyst

NIST scientists Greg Hoth (left) and Vladislav Gerginov work on NIST-F4
Clocks on Earth are ticking a bit more regularly thanks to NIST-F4
a new atomic clock at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) campus in Boulder
This month, NIST researchers published a journal article establishing NIST-F4 as one of the world’s most accurate timekeepers
NIST has also submitted the clock for acceptance as a primary frequency standard by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM)
NIST-F4 measures an unchanging frequency in the heart of cesium atoms
the internationally agreed-upon basis for defining the second since 1967
The clock is based on a “fountain” design that represents the gold standard of accuracy in timekeeping
NIST-F4 ticks at such a steady rate that if it had started running 100 million years ago
it would be off by less than a second today
By joining a small group of similarly elite time pieces run by just 10 countries around the world
NIST-F4 makes the foundation of global time more stable and secure
it is helping to steer the clocks NIST uses to keep official U.S
time is critical for telecommunications and transportation systems
NIST-F4 has improved time signals that are “used literally billions of times each day for everything from setting clocks and watches to ensuring the accurate time stamping of hundreds of billions of dollars of electronic financial transactions,” said Liz Donley
chief of the Time and Frequency Division at NIST
Cesium fountain clocks such as NIST-F4 are a type of atomic clock — a complex
high-precision device that extracts timing pulses from atoms
These clocks play a critical role in our globally connected society: They serve as “primary frequency standards” that work together to calibrate Coordinated Universal Time
or UTC (an agreed-upon system for keeping time using data from atomic clocks around the world
National measurement labs such as NIST produce and distribute versions of UTC using their own time scales; NIST’s version
Those national time scales are then used to synchronize the clocks and networks we rely on in our daily lives.

a cloud of thousands of cesium atoms is first cooled to near absolute zero using lasers
a pair of laser beams toss the atoms gently upward
after which they fall under their own weight
the atoms pass twice through a small chamber full of microwave radiation
the microwaves put the atoms into a quantum state that cycles in time at a special frequency known as the cesium resonant frequency — an unchanging constant set by the laws of nature
a second interaction between the microwaves and the atoms reveals how close the clock’s microwave frequency is to the atoms’ natural resonant frequency
This measurement is used to tune the microwave frequency toward the atomic resonance frequency
A detector then counts 9,192,631,770 wave cycles of the fine-tuned microwaves
The time it takes to count those cycles defines the official international second
(That may change as early as 2030, when nations plan to consider redefining the second in terms of one or more different atomic elements used in so-called optical clocks that can measure time even more precisely than fountain clocks can
cesium fountain clocks will still play an important
Read a longer explanation of how fountain clocks work.
Fewer than 20 cesium fountains are operating anywhere in the world
Unlike commercially available atomic clocks that tick off seconds for internet data centers
stock markets and other private enterprises
nearly every fountain clock is built and operated by scientists in a national measurement lab such as NIST.“It’s a beautiful technology that has real performance advantages
a NIST physicist on the fountain clock team
Getting NIST-F4 admitted into this rarefied club was a journey years in the making. NIST scientists built the agency’s first fountain clock, NIST-F1
NIST-F1 ran for more than a decade and a half and was used to perform regular frequency calibrations
But fountain clocks can be as fragile as they are precise
and after a move to a new building in 2016
the clock had to be restored and carefully tested to operate as a primary frequency standard again — a process that took longer than expected
In 2020, physicist Vladislav Gerginov began investigating NIST-F1’s frequency measurements
Hoth and colleagues decided to rebuild the core of the clock — the microwave cavity
where the cesium atoms are measured — from scratch
they needed to achieve tolerances of 5 to 10 microns — roughly one-fifth the width of a human hair
The scientists added and fine-tuned new electric heating coils
The NIST team decided to name the new fountain NIST-F4
Read more about the process of building NIST-F4.
The research team took months’ worth of measurements to make sure NIST-F4 was not thrown off by factors such as pressure and temperature fluctuations or stray electric and magnetic fields
They compared the fountain’s ticks to those of hydrogen masers — the workhorse atomic clocks that tick off the seconds for official U.S
time — to make sure they were keeping a steady
“Fountain clocks are supposed to be very boring,” said Hoth
Evaluating a fountain clock such as NIST-F4 “is a slow process because we have to be very conservative,” said Gerginov
“We should know everything about it” before putting it into service
because any error in the timing signals could corrupt not only U.S
time but also the global timekeeping infrastructure
This month, the NIST team reported in the journal Metrologia that NIST-F4’s frequency measurements were accurate to within 2.2 parts in 10 to the 16th (10 million billion) — comparable to the world’s best fountain clocks
The NIST team also sent the clock data to the BIPM
where a team of experts is checking it over before BIPM officially certifies the clock as a primary frequency standard
“The success of NIST-F4 has renewed NIST’s global leadership in primary frequency standards,” said Donley
“Vladi and Greg used ingenuity and skill to restore the reliable
world-class operation of NIST’s atomic fountains.”
with at least one of the clocks running at any given time
Data from NIST-F4 will be sent periodically to BIPM to calibrate UTC
and both clocks are already helping to steer the NIST time scale UTC(NIST)
The NIST time scale “has already benefited significantly from the fountain’s high uptime and the reliability of its performance,” Donley said

INDIANAPOLIS — Fountain Square is now one of the most popular places for people in Indianapolis to spend a night on the town
It's a stark contrast to the dangerous reputation the neighborhood had 30 years ago
1995: the day the Indianapolis Police Department opened its Southeast District headquarters right next to the center of Fountain Square
seeing the way it is now is hard to comprehend," said IMPD Southeast District Commander Ron Hicks
Officers used to deal with fights at bars basically every night of the week
Hicks was an officer who knew the danger of Fountain Square before the district headquarters opened
He believes the city's investment into safety helped spark the neighborhood's revival
"There is a new apartment building that was built right in front of our headquarters," Hicks said
"Developers are spending a lot of money in the heart of Fountain Square
I think part of that is because our police headquarters is there."
Scott O'Harra grew up in Fountain Square and recalls how gritty it was in his younger days
O'Harra said it is surreal to see how much the neighborhood has changed since then
"I love that art galleries and live music came," O'Harra said
that's what makes my heart hopeful for the neighborhood."
refreshing combination of iced tea and lemonade
It's already open to interpretation because you can mix those two at any ratio you like, but at Panera, you can really get inventive with the formula. In the past, we've ranked Panera's pre-made drinks
But the move at this chain is to get a fountain drink
naturally) visits to the fountains during your visit
you can try a different Arnold Palmer twist with varying proportions and any of Panera's flavored lemonades and iced teas
This hack appeals to Arnold Palmer fans as well as those of us who want to get a little creative at the fountains without venturing into less-healthy soda territory
Panera has what would be the closest to a classic lemonade variety with its Agave Lemonade
The chain also has a straightforward black Iced Tea
These are your neutral starting points: Together
But the chain also has a Blueberry Lavender Lemonade
The Agave Lemonade would be a simple and refreshing lemon base for adding any of the flavored iced teas
and the Blueberry Lavender Lemonade is a natural match for the Pomegranate Hibiscus Tea or Raspberry Iced Tea — you'd get floral
You could even use two teas with the Agave Lemonade
as Passion Papaya and Pomegranate Hibiscus together would create a tropical profile
While outside of the Arnold Palmer's typical lemonade and iced tea elements
Panera also has a Citrus Punch with blood orange yuzu
and pineapple — a splash would bring even more island-inspired character to any of your combos
INDIANAPOLIS — A man has been found guilty after assaulting a man who was walking his dog with a 2x4 in Fountain Square last year
Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced that Brandon Eaton has been found guilty of Attempted Murder and two counts of Aggravated Battery after a one-day court trial
In January 2024, the victim, identified as Joshua Burton
exited his apartment to take his dogs outside when Eaton attacked him with the large piece of wood
striking him multiple times in the head in the stairwell
Joshua became the target of a brutal assault that left him fighting for his life,” said Prosecutor Mears
While this conviction and ensuing decades in prison offer a measure of justice
our deepest hope remains that Joshua and his family continue to gain strength and heal during this ongoing journey.”
beaten with 2x4 while walking dogs in Fountain Square
Eaton was seen on security footage in the 900 block of Prospect Street earlier that morning
The footage captured him in and around the building
He eventually broke off a 2”x4” piece of wood
WRTV previously reported on Joshua Burton's condition
His family revealed that he had undergone multiple brain surgeries and spent time in a coma as a result of the injuries sustained during the assault

lava bubbled through the crust of an active volcano
Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano sent up an orange-red lava fountain
With multiple fountain events over the course of months
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park encompasses the summits of not one but two of the world’s most active volcanoes: Mauna Loa and Kilauea
Kilauea has spewed on and off since December
Spokesperson Jessica Ferracane says Hawaii Volcanoes National Park was “very busy with people eager to see the eruption.”
The substance creating all the buzz was molten rock—rock that has been heated to the point of becoming liquid
Magma is molten rock that is still underground
Lava is molten rock that has exited a volcano
Kilauea’s magma can read as hot as 2,200° Fahrenheit
Magma contains gases that create the force behind eruptions
When gas-rich magma can’t escape fast enough
That powerful action creates a lava fountain
Gas that escapes more slowly oozes and pours out
Kilauea fountained numerous times during its recent episode
Each produced fountains of different heights
Other times the eruption was a “small sluggish lava flow,” according to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory
The length of time for each fountaining episode varied from several hours to several days
Pauses between episodes lasted from fewer than 24 hours to 12 days
Visitors watched from a safe distance at public overlooks
the area near the caldera is closed to the public
or “vog,” can be the worst threat to human health from an eruption
That can be harmful for folks with breathing issues or heart disease
vog from Kilauea could float to homes downwind of the volcano as the belchings continue
During a spring pause in the fountains and flows
Ken Hon of the observatory warned of another eruption
“The way the volcano has responded and the way the vent is glowing at night show that magma is still standing within the vent,” Hon said
“and new magma is coming in to repressurize the system.”
When we consider God’s creation and wonder at its might
we begin to grasp His great power and holiness
Only He could design such intricate working systems into nature

The water in the Irwin Library Fountain is shockingly cold
JOHN DUNN | OPINION COLUMNIST | jcdunn@butler.edu
The Butler student body has a number of beloved traditions, like the homecoming party on the Knoll, spending 30 minutes finding a parking spot and, as of recently, missing the NCAA basketball tournament
there may not be a more revered tradition than going out with your friends and jumping into all five fountains on campus
and each class knows they can’t be the one to break the streak
It has become an essential part of the Butler experience
Sophomore music education major Parker Tockstein is all for it
and I feel like most schools have some weird thing that you have to do before you graduate
While the tradition may seem odd to outsiders
it holds a special charm for those on campus
Fountain jumping isn’t just a senior send-off
a junior finance and economics double major
explaining how fountain jumping goes beyond just the graduating class
“I think it’s the kind of thing that made Butler one of the more interesting campuses to me,” Boyd said
“I was told about the tradition even before my first year [at Butler]
and seeing my friends do it over the years has been fun.”
It’s clear that fountain diving is a beloved part of Butler’s campus culture
I feel it’s my duty to leave behind a road map for future students — a guide to Butler’s fountains ranked by both their aesthetic appeal and the satisfaction of jumping
Can the Persephone Fountain in Holcomb Gardens even be considered a fountain at this point
the only time you’ll find it filled is right after a heavy rain
Even the name “Holcomb Gardens” has felt like a bit of a stretch since the pandemic
It seemed that “Holcomb Strip of Grass” would have been a more accurate name
But this fall, for the first time since COVID, volunteers replanted the gardens with flowers that will bloom in the spring
I’m hopeful this revitalization effort means the fountain will also finally be turned back on
which would be a much-needed step in the right direction
a fountain with no water has to be the least gratifying fountain to jump in and it is difficult to justify the 20-minute trek down to the gardens
The Norris Plaza is definitely a fountain — there’s no debate about that
yet somehow it manages to be one of the more forgettable landmarks on campus
Maybe that’s because it’s just off to the side
Or maybe it’s because the fountain never seems to have much water in it
It does get some bonus points for consistently being operational — looking at you
Star Fountain — but there’s nothing particularly remarkable about it
That’s not to say there’s anything wrong with the Norris Plaza Fountain; it’s just … pedestrian
Jumping in feels about the same as stepping into one of the many lakes that form on Butler’s campus after heavy rain
but I can’t rank higher than fourth on this list
Star Fountain is the opposite of the Norris Plaza Fountain in many ways
Rather than being a steady presence without any real pros or cons
the lows are pretty low and it all balances out to a perfect third-place ranking
suffering from the same issue as the Persephone Fountain
it’s pretty underwhelming and doesn’t shoot water very high or have much artistic flair
it does serve as a great communal spot and is arguably the best beginner-level fountain
Many first-years even dive in during orientation week festivities
junior finance and computer science double major
which occurred in the first few weeks on campus
“My dad told me that his friend’s son went to Butler
that night we went fountain jumping and I actually met [the friend’s son] at the fountain doing the same thing,” Cohen said
and we saw 30 or 40 other people around the fountains … and I am still friends with many of them.”
Star Fountain’s has a lot of positives, but it just doesn’t have the star power to break into the top two. Maybe, its ranking will rise if the university commits to keeping it full during the winter
The fountain in the pond in front of the bell tower is easily the most visually impressive on this list
The water streams shoot what seems like 20 feet into the air
and the scenic background makes it one of the most picturesque spots on campus
It’s no surprise that seniors often choose it for their graduation photos
likely reminiscing about completing the fountain dive circuit while doing so
it ranks second for one main reason: it’s kind of gross to get into
but less so when you realize how much they poop
If I didn’t feel the need to rush home for a shower afterward
this fountain might have taken the top spot
This fountain is the real MVP of my college career
and its soothing study ambiance is probably responsible for boosting my GPA by at least four or five decimals
While it may not be as visually impressive as the Bell Tower fountain
it takes the top spot because it’s the most satisfying to jump in — and because of its undeniable impact on student performance
seniors will be allowed to take their photos in the fountain this year
this fountain is the most fun to jump in and my personal favorite
so in a list with very few objective rankings
but it’s traditionally left out of the circuit
probably because five is just a more poetic number than six
it’s not the number of fountains that matters — it’s what they represent
splashy milestones that somehow bring the whole community a little closer together

EJI received multiple reports that Nolan Conner Deason
was killed in an assault at Fountain Correctional Facility in Atmore
He would have completed his sentence in 30 days
and had been at Fountain for less than a month before he died
Deason was classified as minimum custody and was living in the Fountain Annex
which houses approximately 200 men in an open-bay dormitory
he was not allowed to sleep on a bed and was forced to sleep on the floor
Deason was assaulted on several occasions after his arrival
he was chased around the dorm until he was captured and fatally assaulted
At the time of the assault there were no officers in the dorm
No officers entered the dormitory until several hours later
when an incarcerated person informed an officer that Mr
Deason was naked and unresponsive in the bathroom
Deason is at least the 14th person killed in an Alabama prison in the past year
In the more than five years since the Justice Department’s report
nothing has happened to stem the tide of violence in Alabama’s prisons
Alabama’s prison homicide rate was 69 per 100,000

Don’t expect to see the waterworks anytime soon at Point State Park
The majestic fountain that marks the confluence of Pittsburgh’s three iconic rivers won’t be turned on until 2026
the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources said Tuesday
State officials plan to spend $3.4 million in the coming months at the park that defines Downtown Pittsburgh’s Golden Triangle
That price tag includes upgrading fountain lighting and light fixtures
improving landscaping and repairing fountain leaks and on-site utilities
“These important upgrades to Point State Park’s infrastructure are critical to ensuring it remains one of Pennsylvania’s most visited places and a staple of Pittsburgh’s culture,” said John Hallas
“We’re confident that once these upgrades are complete
Point State Park will be better than ever before.”
pegged to start in May and run through next spring
was launched in anticipation of a big year for Pittsburgh
The city’s 2026 calendar already includes the NFL Draft and events surrounding the nation’s 250th anniversary
State officials have said Point State Park’s facelift “aligns with the (Gov
Josh) Shapiro administration’s broader vision for revitalizing Pennsylvania’s tourism and infrastructure.”
Shapiro in October also announced an ambitious Downtown Pittsburgh development plan buoyed by $600 million of investments
That work includes nearly 1,000 new housing units
improvements to public spaces in the Golden Triangle and efforts to improve public safety
Point State Park will not be able to host large events while work is underway
Some recreational amenities and facilities also might close or have limited access during that time
Fort Pitt Blockhouse and public restrooms will remain open
Point State Park is a 36-acre park and a National Historic Landmark
The fountain commemorates the three rivers and the historical role they played in the nation’s early development

Following the onset of the Kīlauea summit eruption's seventeenth episode in the late evening of April 7
USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory geologists visited the southern rim of Halemaʻumʻau crater on the morning of April 8 to observe vent activity
Unlike most of the recent eruptive episodes
this one has seen low-level lava fountains (only up to 100 feet
or 30 meters) at the south vent in conjunction with summit deflation
which has typically heralded taller fountains approaching several hundred feet in height
Kīlauea's current eruption in Halemaʻumaʻu crater within Kaluapele (the summit caldera) began on December 23
founder and head baker at Castlerock Sourdough in Fountain City
talks about her successful baking business on Wednesday April 30
In a bakery attached to her Fountain City home
Britta Blain stands in an apron covered with flour where she bakes two or three days a week from May through October with her youngest of seven children
While they have been creating goods together since McColl was a toddler
they certainly have stepped up their game since then
their bakery is filled with carts of beautiful sourdough bread and container after container of dough to be made
During Blain's open season at her business Castlerock Sourdough
with the occasional help of her other children
create 450 to 500 loaves of aromatic sourdough bread each week that are decorated with designs that awe customers
It's not just the designs that please customers
stand in front of their home bakery on Wednesday in Fountain City
who has 40 years of breadmaking experience
runs the bakery mostly with her daughter and the help of friends and family
who considers Winona her hometown after moving there from Pennsylvania at age 12
has spent four decades making bread for family and friends
because of past experience in Europe that got her interested in high-quality bread
Over 20 of those years have gone to making sourdough
as Blain recognized it as a healthier option to feed her children
Blain started selling her bread eight years ago
after facing a transition point in life and needing a new job
She only sold three loaves in her first year from her porch
even though she practiced frequently by making five loaves every week
after participating in some farmers markets
She named it after a nearby rock and the old name of the Fountain City farm she now calls home
score the bread with intricate designs before it goes into the oven Wednesday in Fountain City
and produces up to 250 loaves per baking day
She now works six-day weeks from May through October
She occasionally bakes during the off-season
while two days a week she often works 16 to 18 hours
One loaf of bread requires a three-day process -- the most challenging part is a focus on the dough's temperature
The designs are carved into the top of each loaf to help let out steam
The Castlerock Sourdough bread hut sits at the bottom of the family farm's driveway
Bread is stocked into the cabinets about three times per week during open season and payments are collected in a secure lock box or through payment apps
Information: www.castlerocksourdough.com
Blain loves working with her now 22-year-old daughter
who first became interested after going to a farmers market with her
"I feel like I'm one of the luckiest moms on the planet," Blain said
spends four days each week in the summer working with her
they sell their bread at a roadside hut in front of the bakery
Thursday and customers can grab a loaf and put their payments in a locked cash box
Fiona McColl pulls a batch of bread out of the oven on Wednesday
Signature designs are carved onto Castlerock Sourdough loaves
People can check the business' posts on Facebook to stay up to date on availability
“I enjoy the quality and freshness of Castlerock Bread,” said Jennifer Schewe
who noted it is sold at “very reasonable” prices
It’s one of the best breads I’ve had,” said Madison-area resident Laura Vanderkooy
who stops by when she visits family nearby
“With everything having so much preservatives in it
Britta Blain and Fiona McColl tend to the baking bread on Wednesday in Fountain City
Castlerock Sourdough bread is also sold at the Winona Farmers Market and nearby Bluff Country Co-op
Sydney Curtis loves the traditional nature of the bread
"Britta's bread is the perfect thing to bring
It really puts the finishing touch on my camp
"I love to have it with my stews for dinner
or to eat as toast with my bacon and eggs over the fire for breakfast
It's also conveniently close to where I live in Fountain City
so I can usually manage to get some as I leave for an encampment.”
The bread is available at other stores such as Bluff Country Co-op in Winona and is served at Monarch Public House in Fountain City
probably the quickest of all the local breads.”
bake at their home bakery in Fountain City
While the bread hasn't yet returned to co-op shelves for this season
Strain received a call Thursday from someone asking when it would be available again
and it’s gorgeous aesthetically," Strain said
"We're really happy that they make us part of their route.”
The co-op receives about two dozen loaves with every delivery
which take place about two to three times a week in season
The bread is often mostly gone within a couple days
Area residents can also pick up a loaf at the Winona Farmers Market almost every Saturday in season
Britta Blain tends a batch of dough at her home bakery
The large batches of dough are left to rise in a cool room and covered in ice packs to prevent the rise in temperature caused by fermentation
Blain enjoys connecting with people at the market
That and the other positives make the long days worthwhile
just to get to meet all the people and getting to work with my little Fiona," Blain said
Schewe especially enjoys the bakery’s Wednesday evening events from 5 to 7 p.m.
when hot-from-the-oven bread is available for people to buy and enjoy
"I love their 'hot out of the oven Wednesdays' when they open their yard for guests to bring a blanket (or chairs) and a snack to eat
a drink along with their hot bread and just sit and relax," Schewe said
They encourage people to relax and just enjoy their bread and each other
There is a picnic table next to the bread hut because they welcome anyone to sit and enjoy watching the goats
customers are invited to picnic on the property
live music and birds from River Valley Raptors
“The Castlerock family has worked hard to create a trustworthy
healthy bread and continues to value their customers by striving to create new products to satisfy their customers wants,” Schewe said
“What impressed me the most about Castlerock Bread is everyone who is a part of it strives to make everyone feel like family to them.”
My family and I always feel welcome,” Schewe said
Blain doesn't keep her know-how to herself
She teaches sourdough classes and sells kits with starter
Blain teaches a variety of classes that people can sign up for on the bakery's website
Some classes are designed for those looking to start their own bakeries
She hopes the classes will help participants save money and avoid potential mistakes
certain things you're never gonna learn," she said
“There's such a demand for sourdough that I think we need a lot more sourdough bakers than we have," Blain said
Blain wants to see more bakeries like hers in the area
“I want to help other people be able to start this because it’d be nice to have a lot of little neighborhood bakeries," she said
She believes some of the keys to a good sourdough bread are having a good starter and using the best quality ingredients
Blain's also working to improve her bakery
like by adding a new mill to create some of her own ingredients
She said it will help keep the ingredients' nutrients and has health benefits
Blain works to keep up with new trends and is working to complete a two-year diploma
Blain plans to continue working into her 80s if able
McColl has thought about whether she will take over the bakery one day
“I think my main goal is just to support it as long as I can," she said
Blain believes McColl would be a good choice to someday own the bakery
"I'd say Fiona is the most qualified and most experienced to take over," Blain said
“I want her to be able to have her own life and have a career," Blain said
McColl attends Winona State University and hopes to one day follow in her mother's footsteps in a different way — by becoming an English teacher

Southern Airways Flight 932 crashed into a hillside as it approached Tri-State Airport with 75 Thundering Herd coaches
supporters and flight crew members on board
The loss to not only the families of the victims in the crash
Joseph Chambers — a family physician who also served the Marshall football team — in the crash
but he says through his mother’s stories over the years
Tara Barbera was just 14 when her parents died
my mom didn’t talk about the tragedy,” said Barbera
“She only spoke about the time she had with her mom and dad
Her stories gave my brother and I an idea of how great our grandparents were through her memories.”
Barbera says the gravity of what happened only continues to resonate as he gets older
“This time of the year moves me more emotionally now
It reminds me of what my mom and her sisters went through and that’s tough every year to think about.”
Barbera’s love for the university has only followed in his family’s footsteps
he will share his perspective on the impact the crash still has all these years later
“I want every college student and athlete who attends to understand that the student athletes on that plane had the same aspirations and goals as they do
but their chances were tragically cut short,” Barbera said
I think it’s especially important to understand what an impact they have on the university — how much they mean to the community and how that same community always has their back
They are playing for something greater than just a team
While that understanding is always present at Marshall
Barbera says the ceremony is the powerful vehicle that keeps those feelings strong
The quietness of the fountain turning off is so powerful,” he said
I feel proud — proud to be a part of the Marshall family
proud of my mom and her sisters for becoming such wonderful women,” Barbera said
but can choose to live with happiness in the present.”
Barbera currently resides in Huntington with his wife
