and was a member of The Holy Temple Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith
Gene was a “jack of all trades.” He was a truly talented barber
opening Professional Touch Barber Shop at Gloucester Point Shopping Center in the ’90s
he shifted his entrepreneurial focus to another of his interests
servicing many residential and commercial properties
he was incredibly skilled and was often the mechanic of choice for family
and numerous community members.Gene was preceded in death by his parents
Daniel Paige.He leaves to cherish his memory
Wayne Payne and Kevin Payne; brother-in-law
and friends.A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m

who enjoyed playing both basketball and softball
where she competed at both the high school and collegiate level
She loved spending time with her family and had a passion for travel
A private family service will be held in her hometown of Gloucester Point, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the following charitable organizations that honor both her interests and legacy: Women's Refugee Commission, www.womensrefugeecommission.org/donate/, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org or a charitable organization of your choice

The snow storm hit Hampton Roads and northeast North Carolina hard
setting a snowfall record for many areas in the process
As forecasted by WTKR News 3's First Warning Weather team
widespread snow blanketed the region through Wednesday afternoon and evening
The snow stopped overnight before starting up again Thursday morning — although the scattered showers throughout the day are expected to be much lighter
Most of our area saw 6” to 10” of accumulation
but many saw snowfall in the double digits

Wednesday's snowfall at ORF of 10.2" put us at #8 on the All-Time Record "Daily" Snowfalls list
meaning the snowfall totals in one specific
The communities that saw the highest snow totals were Virginia Beach's Macons Corner
Chesapeake's Greenbrier area and Virginia Beach's Sigma area with 13.0"

-- The National Weather Service in Wakefield has confirmed an EF-0 tornado with estimated peak winds of 75-85 mph touched down in Gloucester County as severe storms moved through Virginia on Wednesday
"A waterspout moved onshore from the York River near Gloucester Institute in Gloucester County," NWS officials said
"Several large trees were downed on this property
a large propane tank was displaced several hundred feet
and a small pillar was shifted off the awning which it was supporting."
The tornado moved north northeast and lifted after it crossed Allmondsville Road
The storm caused "significant damage" to the Gloucester Institute's campus
including several downed trees and damage to a building's roof
But the historic 90-year-old Holly Knoll home "is still standing strong
with the Dream Oak watching over it," officials with the Institute wrote
was the birthplace of the United Negro College Fund
and we expect the campus to be back to normal in no time," officials posted Thursday
NWS officials said numerous trees were downed in Gloucester "consistent with thunderstorm wind gusts of 65 to 75 mph."

NWS officials also said straight-line winds from a severe thunderstorm caused damage near Ginny Point Marina in the Cobbs Creek section of Mathews County
"Other locations in the county that saw significant tree damage likely observed straight-line winds of 65 to 75 mph," NWS officials said

(WWBT) - The National Weather Service in Wakefield sent their survey team to the Middle Peninsula on Friday to assess damage from Wednesday’s severe storms
The National Weather Service reports that a waterspout moved onshore from the York River near Gloucester Institute in Gloucester County on Wednesday at 3:39 p.m
“Several large trees were downed on this property
and a small pillar was shifted off the awning which it was supporting,” the report states.” The tornado quickly moved north northeast and lifted soon after crossing Allmondsville Road.”
The EF-0 tornado had peak winds of 75-85 mph
and its path width was estimated at 75 yards
numerous trees were down throughout Gloucester County due to severe wind gusts of 65-75mph
The damage was consistent with straight-line winds of 80 mph
