April 2024 saw legendary guitarist Scott Gorham launch a collection of his historic artwork at a London event hosted by actor Philip Glenister. Six stunning prints became available via www.scottgorhamworld.com and later in 2024
became available on t-shirts and long-sleeved shirts
This new release also features a mix of older and contemporary artwork
“I have been so touched by the support I’ve received since I released my first art that it has inspired me to start drawing again
It made sense that when we came to release the next batch of artwork we release a mix of this new artwork with older unreleased pieces
we’ve mixed some pictures from the ’80s and ’90s with some from the last three years
I hope you enjoy the new artwork as much as I enjoyed creating it.”
The new original prints released are Einstein’s Regret (2024)
Unchained Universe (2025) and Virus (1984)
American Scott Gorham moved to the UK and joined Irish rockers Thin Lizzy
Scott would perform on ten best-selling albums
“Dancing In The Moonlight (It’s Caught Me In Its Spotlight)” and “Waiting On An Alibi.”
Scott used to also secretly work on his own art (something he discovered as a child)
He just didn’t tell his fellow musicians or even his wife
Then Christine discovered a folder containing numerous drawings
some of which dated back to the early 1980s
These images were inspired by Scott’s life on the road
the state of the planet and even the time Phil Lynott took him to his first football match
Now these artworks are available as limited edition prints, posters, long-sleeved and short-sleeved t-shirts on www.scottgorhamworld.com

PATERSON — The federal government has taken back $4 million from the Paterson Housing Authority’s reserve account used to pay for rent vouchers for low-income residents
Housing authority executive director Irma Gorham said the “recaptured” federal funds won’t impact the agency’s $35 million annual allocation under the Section 8 voucher program
That money pays for vouchers for 3,200 families
Gorham said the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development notified her about the $4 million several months ago
this is happening all over the country,” Gorham said
The housing director said HUD is taking money from local authorities’ Section 8 reserve accounts to shift the fund to places that have insufficient voucher money
She said all 40 local public housing agencies in New Jersey have lost money from their reserves because of the federal action
Officials at HUD did not respond to an inquiry from Paterson Press regarding the taking of the Section 8 money
Gorham said the PHA now has $1 million left in its voucher reserve
which she described as “a cushion” that the agency taps into for emergencies
“I was saddened to learn that these funds were taken from us
and I think that we need to do whatever we can to protect the resources that remain,” said Bob Guarasci
“Given the huge need for housing in Paterson
Mayor Andre Sayegh did not respond when asked for his comments on the loss of the $4 million
The Paterson housing agency has 400 people on its waiting list for Section 8 voucher
The agency provided voucher documents to about 100 people on the waiting list about nine months ago so they can look for apartments
So far about 30 of them have entered leases based on their rent vouchers
The vouchers cover a portion or the entire rent
Gorham said she doesn’t think the loss of the $4 million was very significant compared to general uncertainty over the fate of the Section 8 program

GORHAM (WGME) – There was a fire at a cannabis grow center in Gorham Friday
The fire started Friday afternoon at B’s Trees
Gorham Fire Chief Ken Fickett says the fire started when a bulb from a high intensity light that provides sunlight to the plants malfunctioned
The bulb dropped into a plastic container that the marijuana plants were growing in
He says the fire was discovered by workers inside after a heat sensor went off
The chief says everyone who was inside is OK
“We treated two people on scene,” Fickett said
“They tried to attack the fire and put it out
they knocked a lot of it down before the smoke got the best of them and they just bailed out
we treated them on scene and released them.”
The chief says the grow center lost 280 plants due to smoke and that the damage is minor

GORHAM (WGME) -- Frequent flooding in a Gorham neighborhood is frustrating residents
A homeowner says there have been reoccurring floods on her property from storm water for months
Carol Molchoir moved to Lawn Avenue a year and a half ago
She says what was supposed to be her retirement home has become a never-ending headache
they do a disclosure of any issues and that wasn’t something that was disclosed as an issue,” Molchoir said
Ever since a new housing development moved in next door
Molchoir says rainwater travels down through a new drainpipe and onto her property
She has called public works officers in the town
“When they don’t inspect or maintain these underdrain soil filters
“Then the water has nowhere to go except into my backyard
And that’s unfiltered pollution into my backyard.”
Molchoir isn’t the only homeowner dealing with the issue
his basement was flooded by a foot and a half of water
Molchoir gave representatives from the Department of Environmental Protection a walkthrough of her home
Three members of the DEP were on-site Tuesday
but they declined to provide one on what comes next
Maine (WGME) -- A cannabis grow facility in Gorham caught fire again for the second time this month
black smoke was reportedly spotted coming from the facility on 7 County Road in Gorham
Several departments responded and put the flames out quickly
The State Fire Marshal's Office says Saturday's fire was caused by a grow light that failed and it was ruled accidental
investigators say a bulb used to provide lights to the plants malfunctioned
UPDATE: Gorham police say all three teens have been found safely in New Hampshire
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maine (WGME) -- The Gorham Police Department says three teenagers are missing from that town
were all reportedly last seen at a home in the Friendly Village neighborhood in Gorham at around 12:15 a.m
The three teens are reportedly expected to be together and often spend time in Portland
135 pounds with brown eyes and black hair and was last seen wearing a tank top
145 pounds with hazel eyes and dyed black hair
and was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt and white Nike sneakers

GORHAM (WGME) – The Maine Turnpike Authority is now dropping its controversial Gorham connector project
The project would have built a new highway from South Portland to Gorham
with the goal of easing heavy road congestion
The MTA paused the project last year after receiving backlash from local residents
The project would have required the demolition of nearly a dozen homes and confiscation of farmland
and people wondered if it's the right-sized tool for the job
there's concerns that it will just fill up," MTA Director of Communications Erin Courtney said
The MTA says it's heading back to the drawing board to re-examine traffic conditions and review past mobility studies to find better ways to ease congestion in the area

GORHAM (WGME) -- Another mobile home park in Maine is up for sale and the people who live there are hoping to buy it
but it might be an uphill battle before residents can make that purchase
Homeowners in several mobile home parks in Maine have successfully purchased their parks like in Bangor and Brunswick
the sale of Friendly Village in Gorham is attached to seven other parks across the Northeast
which makes purchasing this park by itself a bit more complex
who has lived at Friendly Village for 30 years
Both worry that an out-of-state buyer will jack up lot rents and drop the ball on park maintenance
“They tend to not care as much about the infrastructure of the park,” Cook said
"The park is made up of probably 70-75% considered in the elderly bracket
and living off of social security on fixed incomes," said Beailieu
"People don't know what they would do."
People living in the 262 occupied homes in the park received a letter in March
It said Wyoming company Crown Communities wants to buy Friendly Village
and seven other parks across Massachusetts
The price tag for the Gorham park is $22 million and state law gives residents a 60-day window to make a counteroffer
Out-of-state investors buying mobile home parks is becoming a trend in Maine
It's why groups like the Cooperative Development Institute help homeowners buy their parks to give them some control
But if a group is interested and motivated
we've seen it be a very successful model,” said Nora Gosselin
the director of resident acquisitions for the Cooperative Development Institute
But the 60-day clock is ticking quickly and Beaulieu and Cook worry even if they make an offer on Friendly Village
the owners would rather sell all eight properties at once to Crown Communities
“That worried us right from the start,” Cook said
But a new bill at the State House could make their purchasing power stronger
by giving residents the right of first refusal
It's a law that's already on the books in Massachusetts and Rhode Island
it could give homeowners at Friendly Village a better chance at buying their park
Crown Communities did not respond to CBS13’s interview request and the owners of Friendly Village declined to comment on the sale
GORHAM (WGME) – A person is hospitalized after a fire in Gorham Friday afternoon
The town's fire chief says the homeowner was cooking on the back deck when the wind picked up and blew flames onto the house
Fire heavily damaged the attic and there was extensive water damage on the first floor
Heavy winds also made it tougher for crews to fight the flames
"About 40 mile an hour winds that were shooting from one end of the house to another
and that's what pushed a lot of fire through the building itself
as well,” Gorham Fire Chief Ken Fickett said
“Makes it tougher for us to fight fires like that when the wind is against us."
The homeowner suffered burns to his face and smoke inhalation
Several nearby towns helped fight the fire
The Maine Turnpike Authority is dropping its controversial Gorham connector project
a proposed four-lane highway that would run from South Portland through Westbrook and Scarborough to Gorham
state transportation authorities say they will undertake a comprehensive effort to find ways of easing persistent rush hour traffic in the region
Turnpike officials spent more than a dozen years and millions of dollars pursuing a five-mile toll road that would connect Portland’s western suburbs to the interstate
Traffic congestion in the area routinely causes backups and spills into residential neighborhoods
But growing public opposition to the $330 million project led the Turnpike to pause it last year
Now all work has stopped while the state conducts fresh research on the issue
The Turnpike Authority has spent more than $18 million on the project since 2001
"We're not doing anything right now to be looking at what those alignments could be," Courtney said
"It is going to rely on whatever comes organically through this process
The highway plan emerged from a 13-year-old study that found the area needed more road capacity
as well as land use planning and public transportation
In 2017 lawmakers authorized the turnpike to build a highway
and commuter patterns have changed since then
Maine Department of Transportation Deputy Commissioner
said it is time to update the findings and consider alternatives including mass transit
The study could still determine a toll road operated by the turnpike is needed
"We’re really looking for a basket of solutions
bring the whole toolbox to the table and come up with something," Doughty said
The connector was dealt a major setback last year when Scarborough town councilors voted overwhelmingly to pull support for the roadway
Town Manager Tom Hall agreed it is time for a reset and to reassess regional traffic movement
But he said there is daily rush hour gridlock in north Scarborough
a problem that extends throughout the region and is only getting worse
"It can be terribly frustrating and somewhat defeating that the problems persist and no solutions are in sight," Hall said
Opponents of the Turnpike plan such as Myles Smith with Mainers for Smarter Transportation are cautiously optimistic about the new approach
Smith would like to see the legislature repeal the Turnpike's authority to build the toll road
But updating traffic signals and installing roundabouts on local roads could also make a huge dent in traffic congestion
we can make the situation 90% better for 10% of the cost
and do it without destroying the communities around there," he added
The transportation department plans to include local stakeholders and the public in its research

Maine (WGME) -- Flying ants have invaded Gorham High School
The school has been dealing with flying ants infesting their kitchen and cafeteria
they said they found ants in the kitchen and did not feel it was safe to make food in the kitchen until the situation could be remedied and everything cleaned
Bagel in Gorham helped provide breakfast for students on Thursday
Students were given bag lunches with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches since the kitchen and cafeteria could not be used
A pest control company was called in on Thursday and will return on Friday to help rid the kitchen and cafeteria of the ants
School officials say breakfast and lunch will be served in the hall outside the library on Friday
Jandreau says they are hopeful that the infestation will be resolved by next week

WI – Approximately 100 workers employed by Gorham Street Productions are set to join The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 251 after company owner
agreed to voluntarily recognize the crew’s union earlier this month
Gorham Street provides crewing for multiple venues throughout the Madison and Milwaukee metro areas including the Sylvee
As a part of the voluntary recognition process
workers and management are able to expeditiously proceed to negotiating a collective bargaining agreement between the parties
“IATSE Local 251 looks forward to welcoming Gorham Steet Productions workers into our membership and building a stronger entertainment community though our new partnership with Gorham Street Productions,” said IATSE Local 251 Business Agent
“We are proud to work alongside our staff to ensure the continued professionalism and excellence they have delivered for 18 years now,” said Gorham Street founder and owner
and in the challenging environment our working class finds itself in
it becomes all the more important for businesses to invest into their workforce
and we are proud to stand with our staff and recognize their right to collectively advocate for the rewards that should come with that.”
Gorham Street Production’s decision to voluntarily recognize the worker’s union aligns with a broader trend in the live entertainment industry
where employers increasingly respect the choice of workers seeking a collective voice through a union and acknowledge the benefits that organized labor brings to entertainment workplaces.“I’m very proud of our crew and how well they all rise to any task
and support each other,” said said Crew Lead David Windus
“It makes me extremely excited for everything that’s to come with our amazing team
Thanks to all who’ve worked with us along the way
and welcome to all who will work with us in the future
We’re ready to bring the best everytime.”
“It’s been inspiring to see my fellow coworkers come together to express their desires for better working conditions and taking a stand for their rights,” said Crew Lead Timothy Byington-Fish
“I’m happy to see what the future holds for us.”

Maine (WGME) -- A Maine man pleaded guilty on Monday to bank robbery
brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence
and possessing a firearm as a prohibited person
Timothy Riley of Gorham showed a gun and demanded money from a bank teller at a Gorham Savings Bank on Sokokis Trail in Waterboro in June 2024
York County Sheriff’s Office deputies spotted the bike
leading them on a chase until he went off-road and authorities could no longer follow
Investigators were able to recover a handgun and dark-color baseball cap
which Riley was seen with during the robbery
Riley was arrested later that evening and admitted to the robbery and said he was in debt
Authorities say Riley has past convictions for burglary and robbery and a federal conviction for interfering with commerce by robbery
His criminal history prohibits him from possessing a firearm
